  1. I was the opposite. I remember I had some board game that had The Model and I would always proclaim him my favourite. Strange kid, I was.
  2. I love stuff like this too. This was a couple years before I started watching. They were really pushing Perfect at this time. What was The Genius to him? His mentor? Seems like a weird fit.
  3. The best thing about Beefcake is his theme. Gets me every time!
  4. This is crazy that we're supposed to buy any doubt as to which is the real Sting.
  5. I know everyone had accepted it as fact that he'd be the mystery guy at Survivor Series which was a few weeks before so I would guess so.
  6. Well after watching the Nitro from a few weeks later, Bischoff says that he made the decision to join the nWo AFTER the powerbomb. I think they realised the err of their way with that one because that story makes waaaay more sense.
  7. Yeah, they maybe should've said Bischoff made a business decision and the nWo offered him a deal a few months back to start helping them from within instead of saying he was a part of it all along, given that powerbomb.
  8. I really like his paint here.
  9. Oh, and Hall's one to talk about "Harlem" Heat given that he's still rocking the Cuban accent despite being from Tampa.
  10. I think it was too subtle for most of the audience, as she seemed to still get a fair amount of heel heat. Although that may have been because like 2 mths earlier she was still throwing Savage's money into the audience during Flair's entrance. THAT, to me, is the headscratcher...Flair beat up his dad and just generally humilated him for about 9 mths but after only a few weeks of Hogan screwing around with him...NOW she suddenly has sympathy? Wrestling logic, for sure.
  11. "Let me tell ya why..." became one of my catchphrases for years after this.
  12. During the Sable/Sunny catfight, Patterson goes out to break it up and Ross says "The queens of the WWF are outside the ring!" They love ribbing him.
  13. It seems like they were writing her out of this angle (and the Faarooq angle the next night) so she could go host Live Wire. Total waste. Too bad they didn't have Sable do that (as scary as it would've been to see Sable try to form sentences for an hour on live TV) and have Sunny stick to managing.
  14. I love that when this was filmed they apparently didn't even know who the 4th man was. Just saying "Man I can't believe they didn't know it was gonna be him!"
  15. I always thought Sting was kind of a bastard to get so defensive when everyone thought it was him. I mean...it did look exactly like him from our vantage point.
  16. I love that guy next to him that looks like Jesse from Breaking Bad going "NEXT WEEK FIVE! YEAH NEXT WEEK FIVE!"
  17. A friend of mine had that jacket at the time. And he was a male.
  18. Because I had all these Raws for a few years recorded and very little else to do as a kid, I've probably seen this match 30 times. I really liked it and was a huge Owen mark even as a kiid. These two always had good matches.
  19. My favourite part was the Heenan thing. I love how real he was selling it. I also remember the Macho Man jumping on the speeding car being the first time I'd heard wrestling talked about the next day at school (middle school) in years. Also the fans chanting boring and the announcers acknowledging it was pretty funny, in retrospect.
  20. I was only allowed to rent one PPV a month and I favoured WWF so I made my mind up I'd go for International Incident. But our cable system at the time only scrambled the image on PPVs so I would sometimes listen to the WCW PPVs. I remember clearly listening to this so intently and being dumbfounded when the first thing Hogan said was "Tell these fans to shut up!" I wanted to see it so bad that I bought it on VHS a few months later. In retrospect, the Heenan line is pretty awful. I don't think it killed it dead at the time because people were so shocked, but yeah on rewatch it sticks out big time.
  21. I liked McMichael as a Horseman. Big dumb oaf. They had 3 amazing wrestlers (3 of the greatest ever) so he was a good 4th. This angle was very well done. In the weeks leading up to it, it wasn't completely telegraphed. I just read a bunch of WONs from around this time but I can't remember if Meltzer knew about this too far in advance.
  22. My parents knew Goldust was my favourite around this time and I was 12...what were they thinking?
  23. Hall never mentions Hogan when he runs down the big names. Did they know at this point for certain that Hogan was gonna be their third? I thought it was still up in the air at this point.
