[1991-03-16-USWA-Memphis TV] Bill Dundee vs Sgt. O'Reilly
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Dundee runs away from some poor kids who were just looking to high five him. Sgt. O’ Reilly complains about his tights being pulled on a back body drop. Tough to argue that one. Superstar wins easily but nice squash. Austin attacks Dundee after the match and JC Ice is very happy about the whole thing. -
[1991-03-16-USWA-Memphis TV] Eddie Gilbert & Jeff Jarrett vs Texas Boys
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Seconds are inside the cage too. Yanemoto just stands in the ring with the briefcase. Somebody must have shot Frank Morell. This all leads to a big 4 on 4 match for upcoming monday night. Pritchard calls out Lawler for his talk about taking time off which he didn’t. -
Lawler sure did keep a busy schedule with his personal appearances. Lawler and Jarrett have all the gold with World Title, Southern and Tag titles. He doesn’t want to hear about the Texan guys talking about how good they are since they don’t have any belts. Fargo will be at next match to keep an eyes on the Texans. Gilbert is ready to do some Fargo strutting. Fargo doesn’t look like much of a tough guy in these close ups.

[1991-03-09-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Terry Funk
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Always enjoy Terry’s regional rundown promos. He’s all over Memphis with their rats, slime and the scum. I was just cracking up with Funk forgot Yanemoto’s name. It totally works with Terry when he just pauses trying to remember his name. The fact that he trashes a guy in own corner makes it even better. This was awesome. -
Pritchard wants to talk about justice and injustices of wrestling. Embry wants to see the tape of the Funk/Lawler match. Looked to be some big action on the outside with the use of tables and the ring guardrail. Jackie refuses to count a Funk pinfall after he used a weapon. Lawler ends up winning the title. Funk got the shaft. Everyone bumps for Fargo’s punches after the match. Back in studio with Embry and Pritchard attacking Lawler. Gilbert saves though before the Texas Hangman make the odds too tough.

Flair compares Sting to Arsenio Hall about being confused who the World Heavyweight Champ is. I’m confused too. Was Sting a guest or something? Sting wants a steel cage match with Flair with a fair referee. The lack of date/venue of the promotion was not good.

[1991-03-15-WWF-MSG, NY] Marty Jannetty vs Pat Tanaka
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Never heard of this one. Tag partners are not at ringside. See how long that lasts. Tanaka kicks the crap out of Jannetty at the start but shows his sportsmanship by bowing. Crap! Where did that finish come from? Sick looking sitout tombstone piledriver by Jannetty. Tanaka does not get his neck broken thankfully. Nice that it ended up being just a one on one match. -
[1991-03-15-USWA Texas] Steve Austin vs Gary Young (Coal Miner's Glove)
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Not much of a fan of these pole matches. Some slow climbing. The battling on the top rope near the pole is good though. Pritchard sounds so much like Piper. Young has been looking good in 91 as a face. The glove looks like something out of Michael Jackson’s collection.- 7 replies

[1991-03-14-NJPW-Big Fight Series] Jushin Liger vs Norio Honaga
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Liger was distracted by Saito. Agreed with the other posters that this is a different type of Junior match with Honaga. Lack of high flying moves does not hurt match at all. Surprise result with Honaga winning. Saito did his part in getting to Liger. Liger is not happy and starts making challenges.- 11 replies

DiBiase goes shopping. Noticed Sherri was with him in one of the brief video clips. Thought that partnership was later in year. Nice touch with the “We Accept Ted” sign on the door. Ted can’t decide what jewelry to buy so he buys it all.

[1991-03-11-WWF-Pensacola, FL] Shawn Michaels vs Mr Perfect
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
I had to rewind and watch Michaels dive a couple times. He does the Undertaker type dive over the top ropes. Michaels over jumps Perfect and goes head first into a crew member near the railing. Some weird crowd piping at times. Heenan shows up at ringside. I did like the over the top atomic drop/inverted atomic drop combo with turnbuckle bump/clothesline. Typical non-finish type match as Boss Man gets involved too. Match was good but these guys just don't seem to be able to deliver a great match against each other. -
[1991-03-11-WWF-Primetime Wrestling] Jake Roberts in the studio
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
We got an ugly sweater contest between Vince, Bobby and Jake. Heenan plays violin to Jake’s sad story. Roberts shows off a bunch of snakes. Roberts runs Heenan off pretending a snake is biting him. Back from commercial we play some pin the tail on the donkey. Silly segment but Roberts explains he has the crowd in his corner and they will help him while he is blindfolded. Actually good way to play up the match at WrestleMania. -
[1991-03-10-WCW-Main Event] Sting vs Larry Zbyszko
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Sting show a lot more fire than he did through the Scorpion feud and losing title to Flair. He attacks Larry before match starts to let him know he got Sting’s attention. Didn’t like the chinlock by Sting so soon after the initial brawling. But he really loses his temper later in match and gets disqualified while holding the Scorpion Death Lock!! Larry was under his skin. Good little match.- 12 replies

[1991-03-10-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Interview: Ultimate Warrior
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Warrior is ready to end reign of Savage. Okerlund mentions Undertaker and Paul Bearer talking about sprinkling ashes on Warrior’s grave after he loses match. Building to the next feud. Warrior isn't bad when he is more focused in promos. -
[1991-03-09-WCW-Saturday Night] Ric Flair and Ranger Ross
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Flair beats up Ranger Ross. Jim Ross did about the weakest attempt ever at being outraged about the whole thing.- 9 replies

[1991-03-09-WCW-Saturday Night] Danger Zone: Theodore R. Long
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Paul E has Teddy Long as a guest. Missy interrupts to ask the tough questions such as the breakup of Doom. Heyman gives Missy all types of angry faces. Teddy refers to Missy as Little Orphan Annie. Don't get that one. Hyatt has her arm on Simmons shoulder. So much for broadcaster journalist credibility.- 7 replies

[1991-03-09-USWA-Memphis TV] Steve Austin vs Jeff Jarrett
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
I like Dave Brown referring to JC Ice Baby. Austin tries cheating to win but we actually have a competent referee who is on to him. What I’ve noticed with Austin is he seems to be on the quiet side since the Adams feud. I miss Jeannie by his side as they made a good combo. -
[1991-03-09-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1991
Jerry talks about issues with getting Funk back in area to defend his title. Lawler talks about refusing to partner with Jarrett and explains he is at point of career where Jerry may not get that much title shots so had to take it. Jerry is a bit beat up from injuries and is looking to take some time off after upcoming match. Did have the feel as a push to get more tickets bought. -
The Wrestlemania 29 Early Spring NY Weather Disaster Prediction Thread
Kevin Ridge replied to Bix's topic in Pro Wrestling
Temperature good. Lows not bad at all. I don't like that "rain early" though. -
Random thought that popped into my mind. Do the regular television show reviewers on Figure Four website get paid for their weekly work? At least a discount on their subscription?
