    We see Lawler pinning Gilbert after a piledriver. Embry and Gilbert get face to face and start pushing each other. Embry is attacking Gilbert. This is interesting. Eddie flips out on Embry before Pritchard gets involved. I fee like Gilbert turned too soon.

    Gene goes over the WrestleMania card as they announce some of the mid card matches. Tenryu/Kitao made for a strange team to make a WrestleMania appearance. Hogan talks about prisoners of war in Persian Gulf. Hulk was the original missile defense program. Gene announces the blindfold match for Roberts/Martel. The Model cries foul about stipulations since blindfold will cover his beautiful face. Fourteen total matches for WrestleMania!

    Nice touch with Teddy bringing his PWI Manager of the Year plaque to the ring. Jobber attacks Simmons but we don’t get to see Ron’s full response.

    Embry has done the heel turn in USWA-TX too. Referee stops the match and gets on the mic and just to tell Embry that he makes him sick to his stomach. That’s different and if I’m Embry I’m not happy with such a biased referee. I wish USWA Memphis got this much time for their matches. Embry gets back at the referee at the end. Ref had that one coming.

    Good little match outside the finish where the referee was confused with the early bell being rang. Awesome Kong drops a few splashes on Jarrett’s legs. Travis and Dundee save. Jarrett does a big slam to Awesome Kong. Still want Travis to go back to being a heel.

    We are not the greatest rock and roll band in the world but we did stay at a Holiday Inn.

    Been a while since we had a hotline commercial. The voice over guy sounds sleazy.

    Piper wants to talk about human rights. Roddy shines Virgil’s shoes. Piper asks Virgil to slap him but ends up knocking the mic out of Okerlund’s hand. Roddy is a motivational speaker. He does a good job with Virgil doing most of the talking.

    Missy Hyatt has been denied access to locker room to interview Doom. There’s Grizzly Smith over there. Doug Dillinger getting mic time. Big Josh is a buddy of Tommy Rich. Josh rips off his handcuffs and gets to talk to Jim Ross. Felt like a way WWF would introduce someone with using a new gimmick.

    Embry and Pritchard beating up Jarrett who is bloody. Lawler finally comes to Jeff’s aid. Jeff thinks Texas stinks. Wonder what the fans in USWA-TX will think about those comments. So we got a Texas versus Tennessee feud.

    Lawler in control until Doug Gilbert interferes. Eddie Marlin with the save! Don’t last long though but he was putting up a fight. Lawler then saves Marlin. And now Embry and Tom Pritchard attack Lawler! Embry back as heel where he belongs. Gilbert is focusing on the tag titles and will be teaming with Embry. Eric pushes Texas as the best at the expense of the south and specifically Tennessee.

    Jamie Dundee is now known as JC Ice. Tony Anthony is strongly against child abuse such as what Bill Dundee did. Dirty White Boy plans on grooming JC Ice. A worthy mentor.

    That's so cool about JDW writing the earlier timeline for Almanac. I managed to dig up my 1997 Almanac at my parents house recently. It's in really good condition too but loved going through the timeline. Also liked how they had a bunch of defunct title histories included. The recent almanacs are thin on info. They actually leave out a bunch of the In Your House cards from the WWE section.

    Very brief vignette of Dragon blowing fire. Steamboat coming back to WWF. I figured he came in after WrestleMania. Nothing for him to show up at WrestleMania?

    Gene shows off WWF toys at Toys R’ Us. Lots of toys actually. How would you like to bonk Hulk Hogan? Okerlund and LOD do some shtick.

    I noticed they mention Los Angeles but not the venue for WrestleMania. P.O.W.s and unknown solider references from Sarge. Hulkamania is more dangerous than nerve gas according to the Hulkster. Saba Simba! Valentine does about the slowest sell of a guitar shot ever. He will now be facing Earthquake at WrestleMania.

    Brother Love is too busy spreading his message of love to manage Undertaker. But there is a new manager! Paul Bearer! Paul doesn’t get much talking time. Love talks about Savage/Warrior match more. Bearer isn’t using his high volume voice yet.

    Nice to see they built matches for WrestleMania back in the day through the use of a battle royal. Demolition are the first team eliminated. How the mighty have fallen. Thinking how would have preferred Rockers winning this and facing the Hart Foundation at Mania but they probably would not have got enough ring time. And then Michaels eliminated Jannetty by mistake. Planting seeds for that one already. Animal showing off the strength. Hawk goes to the top rope and deservingly gets eliminated by Roma on the outside.

    Tom Pritchard doing announcing. It’s weird to see them brawling in the Memphis studio and then doing stalling/feeling each other here in Texas. It did pick up more as match progressed and they get plenty of time but just didn’t feel like the right match to have after the studio brawls. I know they are separate federations in a way but it was mentioned in announcing that Gilbert hit Lawler with a fireball. Liked Eddie telling the fans when the come to see him wrestling next time that to take a shower and use deodorant as they stink like Lawler.

    A Flair for...... fashion. That Ric doesn’t show up until summertime. Martel is laying the Model gimmick on thick. Rick will be part of WrestleMania. Gene laughs about not reading the fine print of the contract but we don’t get anymore details.

    Dusty and Solie hanging out in an empty Omni. Gordon talks about Dusty’s recent announcement of retiring from wrestling. Dusty is looking forward to his new career as announcer.
