[1992-12-05-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler and Koko B. Ware
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in December 1992
Yeah it is something to see this angle where Lawler is badmouthing WWF when he shows up there only a few days later. I guess he proved his point to Koko. -
[1992-11-26-WWF-Survivor Series] Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
I liked that they tried something different as far as main eventing a PPV with two technical guys on the smallish side. Agreed with the comment that it never felt like Bret was really in jeopardy which can kind of hurt a match that went as long as it did. Good match but wouldn't rate it that much higher than their match in June. -
[1992-11-14-WCW-Saturday Night] Bill Watts announcement
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
More sad then Warrior leaving WWF at the time. Jake seemed to have a lot more potential in WCW.- 7 replies

[1992-11-27-WWF-Providence, RI] Shawn Michaels vs Marty Jannetty
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
I liked some of their spots where Shawn would tries things and fail and then Jannetty would hit the same move. But agreed that Shawn would go too long with the headlocks. Crowd really wanted more from the match. -
This was hawt. No, I can appreciate the cheesiness over time. But I can't imagine how this gets the team over.

They never even announce who Scorpio is but this was quite the debut. The 450 splash got a big pop from the crowd.

Taking Morton out of the match hurts things as he's the guy you'd want in there on a 3 on 2 disadvantage.

[1992-11-21-SMW-TV] Down and Dirty: Jim Cornette
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
I was fixated on Stan's hair and Cornette's All Japan jacket for a few but Cornette delivers the goods on the mic.- 9 replies

[1992-11-14-WWF-Superstars] Update: Ultimate Warrior out, Mr Perfect in
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
The order of this was weird when this update coming before the Primetime angle where things went down. -
Pretty clean win for a heel at like Michaels at the time. But quite the turnover for wrestlers in WWF in 92. Hogan, Warrior, Piper, Von Erich, Sid, Slaughter, Iron Sheik, Haku, Barbarian, Roberts, Smith, Road Warriors all leaving. Guess guys like Valentine, Volkoff too. Probably others. Know some of them returned but got to be one of those years where a organization lost a lot of it's stars.

[1992-11-07-SMW-TV] Brian Lee vs Kevin Sullivan
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
Excellent match/angle. Lee is a complete bloody mess and even Caudle leaves the announce position to try stop things. Him and Dutch are talking ringside but are not miked properly which just adds to the overall chaos of the scene.- 12 replies

Match does not age well. Remember first time seeing it and thinking it was really good. Now just not a very good match. They tease Perfect walking out on Savage but it's past being believable. Not a whole lot of heat in match either. Would have been way more interesting to see Flair/Perfect vs Savage/Warrior at this point.

[1992-11-21-WCW-Saturday Night] Erik Watts and Kensuke Sasaki
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
Needed some John Cena in there. Masuda was really trying to explain how the STF works and just as he demonstrated it, Watts would not probably put it on.- 8 replies

[1992-11-15-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Interview: Bret Hart
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1992
It seemed like Bret was during the mid 90's was always involved in multiple feuds at the same time. There was Michaels/Flair, Flair/Ramon, Owen/Diesel, Backlund/Diesel with Lawler on the side 93-95. -
[1992-11-07-WWF-Superstars] Music Video: Bret Hart

[1992-11-14-WWA] Eddie Gilbert vs Terry Funk (Texas Death)

Was watching Bruno vs Killer Kowalski from 1974 on WWE Championship DVD. Kowalski bloodies up Bruno and really takes it to him. Every time he climbs to the top rope the crowd get really anxious. Finally Bruno has enough and just goes off on Kowalski. I was pretty taken back by the nuclear crowd heat on this comeback. It's just punch and kick but the MSG crowd goes nuts. We are past the time where crowds will react like this.

It feels like they are putting too much effort into trying to explain Smothers past but I can appreciate them trying to introduce the guy regionally as their new face and acknowledging his past in WCW. Smothers does a good job of trying to explain his past faults and who he really is.

Can't imagine how this was considered a disappointment at the time because it's pretty great to watch now. Great start to this epic feud. What a way to start the match with the immediate backdrop by Kawada. He means business. One of my favorite matches of the year. It's cool to see tag partners battle it out like this and sets things up with Kawada goes his own way and these guys get more serious against one another.

The finish was cool with Roberts getting his by his own snake. Him putting the snake to his neck after the first attempt was a bit obvious but still good finish. Wish they went with a better match type and surprised to read the comments above that the wheel was rigged after all. The promos leading up were great. Too bad Jake didn't stick around.

[1992-10-24-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Ultimate Maniacs
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
They also ran this match in Boston, Baltimore and a few other places. Sorry to run the discussion off track, but who were Double Trouble? Looked this one up online and it was Val and Tony Puccio. Don't know who they were. Val was billed as 530 pounds.- 11 replies

[1992-10-24-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express vs Heavenly Bodies
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
Did not make sense at all to me when Gibson finally shows up that he gets DQ'd immediately. Maybe a minute or so more brawling that gets out of hand that the ref has to call it. That could have worked as finish.- 9 replies

[1992-10-24-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher vs Danny Davis
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in October 1992
I loved the interaction with the studio fans getting to break eggs over Christopher's head. Some really slammed them over his head good. Christopher was really good taking all this with this facial expressions and mouthing off the whole time. -
Best match of all time? Best match up until this point? Pretty high praise here. I'll admit at not being the biggest Joshi fan but this was pretty darn great. If I did a rankings for 1992 would be interesting to myself where this one ends up because it definitely is near the top. My issues with Joshi tend to be I'm not personally invested in anyone but I can get behind someone like Ozaki. She was fantastic is this match with her heelish antics. Toyota doing the rolling cradle so late in the match was silly and almost hurt things for me but in the end I am able to overlook it due to the whole body of the match.

Didn't even look at set list when sending payment. Feel like this will be a very popular set in the threads as probably be a starting point for folks who have yet to get into yearbooks. Can't wait until it arrives. And congrats to Will on the new birth.
