  1. I actually found Hase somewhat annoying in this match. First he is kicking out of Vader's power bombs. Okay, I presume that move hasn't been established in Japan as his finish. He takes a pretty good beating. I'll give him that but he makes no attempt to tag out! He's all bloody and tries to headbutt Bam Bam. Not smart. But anyways after taking his beating, he finally gets the upper hand against Vader and doesn't make the tag to Muto. Match spills to the outside with all guys involved. Finally, with Hase in control he makes the tag to Mutoh who hits a moonsault. Hase then tags back in! How about taking a few moments to recover from the beating and the blood loss? Bigelow and Vader eventually gain back control and squish Hase. I was actually rooting for Vader when he chokeslammed Hase which shouldn't have been my reaction. Again, Hase takes a great beating but him making the tag was not done at the appropriate time.
  2. What's up with the referee taking his sweet time cleaning the mat of streamers? Anyways, I thought this was really good to great. I wish they could have kept up the hatred throughout the match after the mask ripping. It was very unusual to watch a masked man wrestling with his mask completely torn off his face. Camera wise they don't zoom in that much and any close shots are quickly switched to another camera angle. Kind of hurts not having the visual of someone's face when they are hit with a big move or in submission. As match goes on they do show a bit more and more of El Samurai's face. He seems to not care at all though and wrestles as is. Which is good as would have been annoying if he was trying to cover his face up over and over. They busted out some nice big moves at the end towards the finish. All around, match was very enjoyable.
  3. I liked the finish myself with the crucifix roll up as allows for something different. Thought Gordy was pretty good here in this match. Was wondering if he does have a better singles match after this one?
  4. Haven't seen a whole lot of their matches but found this to be pretty good actually. Toyota hit 3 consecutive dives to the outside on Inoue. Good action for the last few minutes. Did notice myself how smaller Inoue looked.
  5. Felt like we were in a court room with Ross peppering Nikita with questions about past issues with Sting. They sure are making the attempt to make Nikita the good. Doesn't completely feel genuine. But atleast the are trying to explain the past issues and not just ignoring them.
  6. I never noticed it during his time as Skip but maybe he never got to talk with Sunny. But watching these yearbooks, I started to really notice how much he sounded like Piper.
  7. This was pretty great. Looks like he will never get out of that bed. Bandages over both eyes and visible redness also. If he knew this would happen he would never have become a wrestler.
  8. Marlin decks Christopher with something around his hand but then remembers he is the referee and doesn't fast count the pinfall. Good for him.
  9. Warrior/Sid could have been quite the train wreck to watch. Checked out some results and I see they had a four minute main event match in Boston that ended up with DQ finish.
  10. Crush calling out Skinner and Repo Man was setting the bar pretty low though he did throw in Sid at the end.
  11. Looks like Jimmy Hart was doing most of the singing. They got the WrestleMania home video out pretty fast back in the day. Figured it would be a couple months. Linda looks very much different.
  12. Kawada really took it to Hansen with the kicks. They also had some big forearm exchanges with one another. Hansen gets all pissed off though. He hits some bodyslams to the outside and a powerbomb. Kawada hits the ropes and gets nailed with the Lariat. Love how Kawada sells the Lariat.
  13. Wondering what is up with all these Eddy matches on set so far. Okay matches but not sure how they are yearbook worthy.
  14. Eddy is bland here compared to what is to come. Match was okay. Liger's submission finish was kind of weird. I really couldn't tell what part of the body it really focused on. Didn't seem like was putting anymore pressure on the neck than other holds.
  15. The entrance stairs seem very steep from the camera angle view. Little change of pace for Flair from what we have seen on yearbook so far. He looked really strong in the first fall and wins with the figure four! I was expecting a Flair flop off Tenryu's sumo rush but didn't get it.
  16. So I looked this up on youtube and apparently this concert was from a halftime Atlanta Hawks game. Must have been quite the sight for those fans in attendance. Hammer was there too and clotheslined the Hawks mascot.
  17. Liked the awkwardness at the end where Sting moves his chair away and Ross just looks into the camera. Dusty just sits there smiling the whole time.
  18. Stan being all serious in his promo about sexual harassment was funny. They are ready to press charges if the ladies don't back off.
  19. Thought this was fantastic. Loss uses the word "graceful" which is a perfect way to sum up some of action. Thought everyone looked great as the moves and transitions look so fluid. Favorite part of match is Sagrada doing a flippy entrance into the ring off a tag and getting absolutely smoked by a running kick from Espectrito. He takes a great beatdown for an extended period after this.
  20. Great looking brawl. Embry has had a rough go with his eyes in 92 so far. A definite panic played up well by everyone involved when Embry gets blinded. Yeah, this wouldn't get over today in a major company nor would fans be offering their $8 drinks to try to help.
  21. On paper, I was expecting a classic Survivor Series elimination type match with all eight guys involved so was disappointed to see it was just a series of tag matches with loser getting replaced. It had it's moments but did go a very long time. There were some stretches in middle of match that made it hard to focus. I actually preferred the first "match" of them all and Fuchi was the best. He hung around for a long time which was good but missed him once he was eliminated.
  22. So did anyone here become a WWF Fan Club member? Never got around to signing up myself. Agreed that some of those kids looked uncomfortable. One of them looked downright horrified. She ended up not being picked up by Warrior though. "These are my little warriors!"
  23. Samurai tossing the chair and Liger catching it in mid air was cool. Liger fired the chair back at Samurai who managed to get out of the way. Samurai playing up being heel was all fun with him trying to tear Liger's mask and the hitting the low blow. Antics were enough to get to Liger and win. Good match.
  24. Really liked this match. Felt like it was all action. Scorpio had crazy agility for someone his size. Crowd got really into towards end. Did feel like the finish came fast but still enjoyed match.
  25. Good but way too short. Felt like a first fall of a Lucha match. For match in Japan, I figure they would at least get a few more minutes.
