  1. With the poor attendance for Boston Garden and other venues too I wonder what the big draw was for selling out the Garden so quickly for Survivor Series. Was the only PPV ever held there and with a new venue already being announced maybe that was the draw in itself. We are back to the tag team elimination format after 1992. Tatanka still a part of the All American team.
  2. I do not watch much current stuff but was wondering if wrestlers still use the Dragon screw leg whip. Big move from the 90s. For not being a regular team, Liger and Benoit come pretty close to hitting the double drop kick off the top rope. Double flying headbutt too! After the juniors initial advantage it ends up being Chono/Hashimoto beating down Liger for rest of match. Benoit keeps trying get involved but getting thrown out of the ring and blocked from getting back in which plays into the finish. Heavyweights just dominating in the ring. Really cool flash reversal win by Liger. An upset that I was pleasantly surprised by.
  3. I wish Shamrock had used more variations of the anklelock during his WWF run.
  4. Pretty boy clean faced Dreamer with a bunch of cliches. He is going to give us 110% against Tazmaniac. I ask for nothing less than 150%.
  5. ECW continues to add the brawling eliminate that would become its signature later on. Abdullah spends whole time brawling on the outside. Smith gets the pinfall over Muraco which is considered a big upset. They needed to faze out the Muracos and Snukas from promotion.
  6. Martel has been mostly invisible since Royal Rumble and here he is in match to determine new IC champion. Thought it was a good match and showed Martel had more to offer though the gimmick might have had little left. Crowd excited to see Razor win the match. Thought he was the right guy at that point to be Intercontinental champion and he would be involved with the belt for much of the rest of his WWF run. Vince talks about the Gold looking good on Razor and I totally agree. The belt seemed perfect around his waist.
  7. I barely have used the new DVDVR board so I cannot comment about the good or the bad for it. Obviously being more familiar with the layout of this board I prefer it more. That said if cannot fix apostrophe error than an upgrade is probably necessary. For those of us who do a lot of copying and pasting it can be a challenge to use board. And from my understanding you cannot quote/reply direction to someone's post who has the apostrophe issue in first place.
  8. If you guys had a producer over your headset like McMahon he would have been screaming to change the f'n subject when Parv started talking about Dungeon and Dragons. Was like the air just went out of the Titans Studio when that happened with the silence from everyone else. Loved the conversation about play by play/color commentary and that it was probably because of Graham/Rudman. Ventura is the best color guy for me. I loved when he would give legitimate points to when he say his guys (heels) getting screwed over. Him running down Hogan is always a fun listen to in the later 80s. Heenan was loads of fun but could be reaching for a joke too much at times in more serious angles. I thought Solie and Heenan were a bad team as Solie didn't seem to know how to handle Bobby and no sold a lot of his stuff. Lawler was great in the mid 90s in WWF. Thought he was fine up until he left WWF in early 2001. Then Heyman comes in and the team with Ross feels more fresh and love the back and forth between the two of them. When Lawler returned he was now a good guy mostly and his commentary continued to get worse. He was terrible during that HHH/Booker T match at Wrestlemania. Even Ross seemed to get pissed off. How about in 93/94 when Lawler disappeared that they would have those guest hosts each week like Booger, Crush, Wippleman. Random guys who were not good in that role. Play by Play man is closer as I would have it between Ross and Russell. McMahon is top five for me though. He may not call the technical stuff/moves in match but he had his way of making things sound excited. I thought his solo commentary effort at Halftime Heat with Rock versus Mankind was great. Larry Z and Putski was excellent. Loved the crowd in this one. Larry took his beating well. Funny to hear everyone apologizing to Johnny that Putski was not total dog shit and did have a good match in him. Captain Lou's lacking of bumping is really distracting to me especially when it comes against Andre. He does the goofy facials/walking away but he needs to be on his ass when Andre hits him. Maybe he could at least fall back into ropes if he doesn't want to take a back bump. But if he does not want to bump then he should not be in the ring so much against Andre in first place. Thought Patera/Moonsoon was a let down but yeah the commentary did not help here in getting over the retirement stipulation. The whole thing was undersold for a guy like Gorilla. I haven't watched Race/Backlund yet so on he docket before I listen to next show but I have noticed it spilling over to other threads here at PWO so looking forward to match and next Titans show.
  9. I like Rude questioning some of Flair's title victories. He has won Flair's title but is not recognize the same with the NWA getting kicked to the curb.
  10. Wow, I missed that it was Hardy there. I'm still not sure what these segments are about other than making fun of wrestling.
  11. Perry was at his peak for popularity and the Battle Royale took place in Chicago. He was going to get a massive pop. But Fralic was a way better promo and all round guy. If he came around in the late 60's/early 70's he would have easily transitioned to wrestling and carved out a good career. Francis managed to be a natural himself and one of the better NFL guys in the ring. Perry was behind both of those two if you are not a Chicago/NFL North fan.
  12. That lady was only 29?!! She was a sport though. Tammy is great during this.
  13. Vince could beat that crap out of Downtown Bruno. I do like the saying that Memphis Coliseum is the building Lawler built.
  14. Was like Savage was rusty as doing his thing as a heel. Vince in his corner is good though.
  15. I thought Savage avoided the fireball as he seemed to know it was coming and dives out of the way at the last second. Would also explain how he was able to recover so fast and get the pinfall on Lawler.
  16. Monsoon is so biased against the heels in these things. We don't get the audio of Lawler ragging on both Stu and Helen in the balcony at Raw. I thought that Bret/Bigelow Raw match was the weakest of the matches from 93.
  17. Mr. T seems like a no brainer to me as far as the celebrity wing. Was huge in the build up to WrestleMania 1 which he wrestled in the main event. Headlined the New York portion of WrestleMania 2. Was also in WCW in mid 90's though to less success. Still did a heck of a lot more than Perry to warrant a spot.
  18. I believe this move is called the IPS Driver Error.
  19. Felt like an extended squash with Tenryu playing with Aoyagi. When a guy wears a Gi in a wrestling match I expect to see him getting his ass kicked. Tenryu delivers.
  20. Sabu's arrival fits perfectly with the current direction of ECW. Taz ends up coming through a table for no reason other than table giving away. Taz doing flips off the top rope. Sabu does his nutty moonsault on to tables after the match.
  21. Giant Gonzales is the first out as everyone teams up on him. Mabel was taking shots at 1-2-3 Kid. Mabel going after the good guys. Mr. Perfect is ignoring his feud with Diesel. I like the good guys going against the good guys. Mabel gets the boot so the biggest guys out first. Diesel too. Perfect gets launched by Bigelow. Vince yells out the What a Maneuver for a clothesline. MVP lasted longer than expected. Heels try to make an alliance. Heat for when Savage got eliminated. He lasted long enough where he became the fan favorite. The finishing section was great at putting the crowd behind Razor. Pretty good battle royal as was given enough time.
  22. I had to rewatch to pick out Cody but damn there he is right next to Shockmaster. Bunch of brat kids with Shockmaster. He is the average guy. Tony treats him like a total joke.
  23. Good to get away from Flair for the Gold set. He's talks about his title being the only belt that matters. Well I do not agree with that one as Vader is holding the big one.
  24. Rude has been chasing Flair for twelve years as he wants to beat the man.
