WCW overdoing it with producing segments nowhere near a wrestling ring. If wrestling can make me laugh than good but this was just dumb.

[1993-06-12-WCW-Saturday Night] Vader and Sid vignette
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1993
Colonel Parker must have hired the band. Such a silly segment and you have two of your monster heels a part of it. They should have done just the press conference and left the rest out. On paper, Sid and Vader look like a devastating team.- 7 replies

[1993-06-12-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Steven Regal & Sir William
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1993
It's fun to see Dundee in the role as Sir William and Regal immediately fits in with the gimmick. It almost doesn't make sense he wasn't doing this from the start.- 10 replies

[1993-06-12-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express vs Ron & Don Harris
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1993
The beatdown did drag on. Then you watch the Morton promo and you want see them get their revenge at Bruise Brothers, a team I don't really care to watch myself, but Ricky is so good. -
I liked Austin's voice over at the beginning. It's tough to do an effective parody of Ric which he was such a caricature of himself on those Flair for the Gold segments anyways.

[1993-06-05-WCW-Saturday Night] Flair for the Gold: Johnny B. Badd
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1993
We go from the fired up Flair promo right into this segment. Flair again looks ridiculous. That's not the Nature Boy. Johnny goes on about his Badd Blaster. I can't imagine why Flair would care about this. Arn has his jeans rolled up.- 7 replies

[1993-06-05-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Ric Flair & Arn Anderson
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1993
Finally! Flair is returning to the ring with Anderson against the Blonds at Clash in 2 out of 3 falls match. Ric brings up stipulation as something the old timers did. He's pretty fired up and nice to see after all those goofy talk show segments.- 8 replies

[1993-06-05-NJPW-Explosion Tour] Eddy Guerrero vs Lightning Kid
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in June 1993
Pretty boring until that great Guerrero dive to the outside. Brought me back into the match but then it was over just like that with Kid picking up another big upset win. -
Tito Santana vs Rick Martel vs Ricky Steamboat
Kevin Ridge replied to Superstar Sleeze's topic in The Microscope
OJ nailed it for me as far as Santana being the best babyface. Loved his feuds with Valentine and Savage. Steamboat is great but Santana just seemed like the natural babyface for that era. Martel turned in 89 which has a big effect in me treating him as a baby face for the 80's. -
Young Andre' picking up chicks on the beach

Andre was the boss with the ladies. -
You need to take the red pill.

So much for the Raw Bowl in 1996 for January 1st.

I can see Tom being way out of the price range and having to settle for Ted McGinley.

There is so much tension between the top four guys that it rubs off on Kikuchi and Ogawa. Kikuchi charges into the ring to break up a submission only to get his ass kicked by Kawada. Ogawa puts the boots to Kikuchi over and over. I like Taue doing his snake eyes move and practically looking at Kobashi on the apron the whole time as if daring him to do something. Kawada/Taue teaming up has really brought AJPW to another level in 93.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I'm big on having a physical copy to read. I'll put off reading digital copies of stuff as long as possible. While I like the book I just can't imagine it selling enough copies as really only appeals to hardcores and you still have most people saying why I should pay for this when I can get it online for free. -
Lucky there isn't a Wellness Policy in place for the Titans of Wrestling with Parv's elevated ice cream levels/gourmet soda addiction and Johnny being in no condition to remember what James had said 3 minutes beforehand.
