  1. Even the Razor versus Kid match from In Your House had the Kid dominating much of the match. Kid could have been a strong heel for WWF at the time but would other guys have sold for him as much outside the Kliq. Bret must have not been able to hear Lawler during match or something as he seemed to be ignoring his comments. Match itself was really good though. As great as the Kid's kicks looked it was a weak looking super kick by Michaels to finish though.
  2. Good match even with the same spots Flair and Sting used with each other. I do wonder how things worked with Nitro being live but the finish of this match being delayed from one weekend to the next. Luger's interference was laughable with Sting having reversed the figure four. You have to wonder how Sting being so gullible didn't turn him heel with the fans.
  3. Fan looked to have got his leg messed up for real when wrestler got launched into him low. I guess that's why barricades are needed! Rey sets up Psicosis on a chair on the outside and proceeds to do one and then another feint dives to the outside. Felt pointless for the trouble of setting Psicosis up in the first place. Mysterios wants a mask versus mask match but Psicosis wasn't too interested.
  4. Coming off watching the yearbooks from early 90's this match seems bizarre with being treated like a wrestling match and not mixed martial arts. Referee counts pinfalls and Koshinaka is doing his hip attacks.
  5. Those quotes were something. Probably the most humorous parts of these skits is WWF making fun of current WCW booking with Hogan's issues with women's shoes and being handcuffed to turnbuckle.
  6. Watch your stuff! I'm getting towards the end of the Mid South set and have the 97 Yearbook waiting for me to start. Also got a couple WWE Blu Rays haven't got to yet. Nothing too much to catch up on though. I'm using an excel sheet right now that tracks my WWF/WCW/ECW stuff and full matches from those groups that appear on yearbooks. It's getting quite large and I haven't even started to include other groups yet. *Edit* I forgot about the Death of WCW set that I'm only in the initial few discs of.
  7. Bret takes a Banzai splash from Yoko. He struggles at first but is finally able to get to his feet in a dramatic way. Yoko wasn't able to keep him down for good. As someone who wrestled within the past year, you would think Sarge could have been more physical in breaking things up when Yoko went for the Banzai.
  8. Steamboat and Douglas still have the tag titles. The camera angle missed the finish with Steamboat coming off the top rope. They were in position and right when Steamboat is about to leap off they cut to Windham/Rhodes in the aisle way. The replay shows the finish. But since it was a taped match why wasn’t it edited better in the first place. Just bad production.
  9. He’s better on the guitar than Van Hammer. Fancy lights and setup while he plays. Must have been difficult to play with the wind blowing that hard. His hair was straight up in the air.
  10. All referees should be required to be able to do leapfrogs to avoid getting bumped. The Beat the Champ envelope the winner gets looks so paltry.
  11. Big nine man match with three teams set for Blue Grass Brawl. Arn enjoys taking pain. Gibson is even more in the background with both Arn and Ricky doing the talking.
  12. That did feel like an inside joke to me too with Mantel’s reaction. Dutch has an impressive educational background. So the Prince of Darkness match is a blind fold match. Ah. Sullivan was entertaining in his crazy way. The setting was perfect with the lights down and Sullivan lying down in the ring.
  13. Would this be the first appearance of a gun on wrestling TV? Good DWB promo with him talking about chain match and showing his skills on some items that remind him of Smothers. Tony wears a Yankees cap to make sure we know he is in Central Park.
  14. This was great and I enjoyed Douglas when he playing the face in peril. Blonds complimented each other so well at this point and both their cheating and short cuts in the match were great. Just kept building and thre crowd came along. Towel use was fun as they were just strangling Douglas every moment they could. Blonds cheating pays off in the end.
  15. Christopher set the tone early when he was complaining about a closed fist from Lawler before the match even began. Lawler takes a big splash from Mabel.
  16. I too thought it was a WWF segment at first and was confused about this Jeffrey Jarrett guy. Shawn being obnoxious is more fun in 93 than 96.
  17. Hacksaw is done feeling sorry about himself and got a new special 2X4 to take on Yokozuna. I wonder were they building to anything big before Hogan show took over.
  18. The video heavily featured guys like Bossman, Duggan and Nasty Boys who didn’t even appear on WrestleMania show. Guys like Demento and Skinner were also in video.
  19. They come out swinging early. Kawada moved on to the headlock which allowed him to have a good portion of the match as he wears down Misawa. Kawada had his chances here before the end. Loved the finish with the selling of both guys on the elbow. Kawada looked like he was completely knocked out cold and Misawa was holding his arm after as he put everything he had into the KO blow to the point of injuring himself.
  20. Choshu was a poor sport after the match manhandling the referee like that. Finish was a nice surprise with Ishikawa getting the pinfall over Fujinami. Choshu/Tenryu things carry on and Tenryu’s team gets a needed win.
  21. I almost confused Linda Hogan with Debra McMichael. Would have preferred Savage introducing instead of Hogan. A year before, Vince was getting grilled on Donahue. Now he is receiving an award. The video of the wrestlers telling the kids what to do comes off so hokey. I think the kids would rather smoke and do drugs than work out six days a week. No official ceremony but Andre becomes the first entrant of the WWF Hall of Fame.
  22. I was waiting for it to be over. Dean looked like he was going to cry after losing.
  23. Wow, this is sooner than expected. Must have been some serious work finalizing the whole thing. I'm avoiding the match list but did sneak a peak to see what made it from IYH Stampede and ECW is Raw.
  24. Nice that Arn makes reference to the last match. It's a minor thing but him being shocked at what happened just adds more to the previous segment.
  25. Sullivan doesn't give a whole lot in the ring. This was nasty and a sight to watch with Kanemura getting lots of blood. He finally puts a couple moves together but Sullivan pulls out a spike to put an end to that. Sullivan timed that good. The stabbing of the arm was crazy and even with the censorship logo you could still see enough damage. Kanemura is a bloody mess on the floor after all of this. Whole thing puts Sullivan over as dangerous and crazy.
