  1. Tenay: Luger's joined the Wolfpac, it's my duty to report Schiavone: This is the greatest evening in the history of our sport Sorry, sorry.
  2. Lights dim. A single spotlight picks out Luger as he steps upstage. Luger: I will absolutely never join the New World Order I know I was a Horseman but if you think a little broader I didn't join the Million Dollar Corporation when accused Though my reputation, it was slandered, my strength of character, abused Step forward Nash out of the darkness. The music becomes jauntier. Nash: What about the Wolfpac? Luger: I wouldn't want to disappoint my fans. Nash: We sure could use that Torture Rack. Luger: It would spoil WCW's plans. Nash: You know we'll always have your back. Luger: I would like the security it'd bring. Nash: You'd sure look good in red and black. Dramatic pause, then... Luger: But what about Sting? I'll stop now.
  3. How to make that movie so much more awesome just by changing one word in the title- Luger: The Musical. Is he a heel, is he a face? Here comes Liz with a can of mace Lex: I used to be a narcisist but now I am so proud; To represent this country and to pander to this crowd Babyface roster chorus: He bodyslammed the behemoth and handed him a loss Jim Cornette: But the title won't change hands and it was only a hiptoss Jim Ross: A former football star with a GPA of distinction Will he be the one to beat the Horsemen to extinction? Flair: I'd love to put him over just as soon as I can But it will have to wait because I've signed with Vince McMahon
  4. Has no-one mentioned Dustin Vs The Studd Stable yet?
  5. Bret Vs Yankem, Summerslam 1995.
  6. Not really putting this forward as an answer, but I used to take wrestling in to watch with a bunch of the guys I work with - all Monday Night Wars era lapsed-fans - and when I ran out of WWF/WCW stuff, I started taking in Japanese stuff. The one match that went over like gangbusters was Super Vader Vs Takada (don't know date), to the point that we would replay that match every couple of weeks.
  7. One guy holds his opponent for another guy to clobber. Particularly if a foreign object is involved.
  8. I'd rather see people pretend fighting in super slo-mo than shoot fucking in super slo-mo, but that's just me. Did you see how the flesh was jiggling on that gut shot? I don't need to see that kind of action in a coital situation.

  10. Dustin by a million miles. Most of 'Taker's most highly-thought of matches are overrated, and even with all the booking advantages in the world he couldn't match the consistency of Goldust.
  11. That was a joke though. Right? Right?
  12. That time Kimona Wannalaya did a striptease.
  13. Bill Alfonso was an underrated good manager. I don't know how he was at contract negotiations, but as a second he was excellent- willing to take a beating to buy his charges some time, and always ready with the plunder. I wonder how Heenan and Perfect's duties were divided during their association with Flair. I assume Heenan handled the business side of things, while Perfect's main function was as a second. I think standard wrestling contracts have changed a lot in the last 15 or so years. Whereas before wrestlers had to sign a contract for each individual contest, now I believe they sign open contracts, giving anyone in an authority position the power to put them in matches at a moment's notice, soemtimes against unknown opposition. Individual match contracts are still required for title matches and certain special stipulation bouts.
  14. Fuji was poor to the end. He challenged Hogan to a world title match just seconds after Yoko had won the title in a gruelling contest with Bret Hart. Rookie error. And then, the following year, he allowed Yoko to defend the title twice in one night again.
  15. Drew Mac and ADR as a no-nonsense, ass-kicking tag team would be pretty badass.
  16. Goldberg wasn't the main focus of the company going into the match, so really losing the streak didn't make all that much difference (although I think it was clearly a stupid thing to do at that time in those circumstances). The bigger crime was really how he was booked in general since winning the belt.
  17. Conversely, Austin's flurry of punches from the mount position were some of the most embarrassing in wrestling history. Hogan's punches were generally pretty shitty. Sid may have had the worst. Benoit probably had the best reverse knife edges. He just snapped those fuckers off so hard. I like a good thrust, and Kane probably has the best. I like Rock's open hand shots too. Anything that makes a good sound, really. Bret had a really good punch, and Inoki sure could lay them in when he wanted to. Can anyone touch Regal on the forearm uppercut front? Vader's meathooks might be my all-time favourite strikes though.
  18. Would Teddy have been with Fire and Ice at this point?
  19. Congrats Cross Face Chicken Wing and Loss. Welcome to the club.
  20. Married with a 10 month old. I watch him 4 days a week, and work 4 nights a week, so I'm literally always tired. I manage to fit bits and bobs in during the day, but wrestling has to compete with films and reading and other things. I probably watch about 5 hours of wrestling a week. I just fell asleep during an old ECW match, but that was a piece of crap anyway.
  21. Is Booker the only wrestler to feud over the rights to a letter and a shampoo commercial? Hopefully, Mookie can pore through his records and give us a definitive answer on this.
  22. They're all 2/3 falls. Most of the Ricky and Roddy tags are good. For a bit of variety, there's a good Buddy Rose/Steve Pardee match which is basically a 2/3 falls squash match.
  23. But Ryback was knocking around for ages, and had the fairly high profile Nexus run before being repackaged. I'm talking about coming in from a cold start. Are we going back to Brock?
