Was that 5 times in terms of revenue or 5 times in terms of number of items?

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Moonsault Marvin replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I always thought that it was funny when Ross would do the "We Wrestle" catchphrase, and then in the same show, they would have Rick Steiner go on a date to the zoo or something. -
I remember from reading Irv Muchnick's writings, he proved DeMarco knew, but it was never clear to me if DeMarco was actually Meltzer's source or another person told Meltzer that DeMarco knew. We will probably never know if the people actually running the show like McMahon or Dunn knew or not.

With Bix finding the documents with the contract offer to Warrior in 1997 after the screwjob, does this bring Vince's reasoning that he couldn't afford Bret into question? I had always assumed he was freeing up money to pay for Tyson. If he wasn't, was the screwjob always a plan to create the "Mr. McMahon" character and really didn't have anything to do with money?

What was the deal with Meltzer posting the Mister Saint Laurent interview with Warrior today that was from a couple of years ago and claiming it was a lost podcast that Warrior threatened to sue to stop? Meltzer has edited it out of his Wednesday update, so I assume he figured out that it had been on the internet for a long time and it wasn't a contentious interview by any measure.

In HHH's version of the contract, his contract doesn't mention "expiration," only one year no compete if he breaches, so I don't know if what I posted is similar to what regular wrestlers sign or not.

That was one strange interview. David Benoit seems almost too laid back at times. One minute he says he wants to wrestle in WWE, and the next he's mad that they haven't paid him his father's royalties and they won't let him train at NXT. I think Jericho and his father's other friends should tell the guy to just stay away from wrestling, and try to find a better path for his life. -
Couldn't that be the real reason for the buffer match? They want to send the crowd to the concessions stand or the merchandise table one last time before the main event.
-
Thanks for the answer. Maybe they will get around to him at some point.

Is there any reason Thesz isn't in, besides not wanting to induct too many dead people in a year and an aversion to earlier era candidates? Didn't he do an interview with Vince on Tuesday Night Titans or one of the other shows back in the '80s? I think he also did a legend's battle royal for them at some point too. Is there some other reason they don't like him?

i'd assume it's not worth the time, money, and loss of good will to sue wrestlers for interviews, and there couldn't be much in terms of damages.

In the SEC documents, there are booking contracts for Stephanie and HHH. They have confidentiality clauses in them that are probably similar to whatever most wrestlers sign. Maybe John or someone else with a legal background could explain how those clauses would apply in Punk's situation.

I don't know if any footage exists, but the interview was printed in Pro Wrestling Illustrated back in '92.

Nice podcast, Mookieghana. I enjoyed the discussion about future price increases. It will be interesting to see how much and how fast they eventually try to raise the price. At the time, I thought the increase in Netflix's price seemed to be harsh. I didn't end up cancelling it, so it must have not been too much.

How do star ratings and buys correlate?
Moonsault Marvin replied to FedEx227's topic in Pro Wrestling
I wonder if star ratings and dvd sales would show any correlation? People might be more willing to buy a dvd or blu-ray if the matches were well liked. Meltzer's tastes not necessarily reflecting the general audience's tastes still might cause it not to show any correlation. -
Lance Storm as world champion is a horrifying thought.

I always thought it was weird that it was called the World TV Title, but it was lower in prestige than the US title. -
Johnny, I think Cena will remain the ace for at least several more years. I think that includes beating Bryan at some point in the future. I don't know how fast that will happen or if they will wait a while. I don't think they will keep Bryan on top for long, even though I wish they would. Maybe, I'm totally wrong.
-
That isn't really the MO anymore. They have no problem with one guy going over again and again... Exhibit #1: Sheamus vs. Christian. i was thinking more about Cena and the Rock's rematch.
-
I don't think it is unreasonable to think they will setup a Bryan vs Cena rematch from Summerslam. WWE likes "even steven" booking.
-
i'm scared that Bryan won't have much chance to main event. Cena will be there demanding his win back. If they hired Batista for promotional reasons, he probably needs the title before his movie comes out the beginning of August. Bryan may get the Wrestlemania moment, but lose the title soon after.

How Unique was the Royal Rumble? And Does it Still Work?
Moonsault Marvin replied to Kronos's topic in Pro Wrestling
You're totally right. It has taken almost all of the suspense out of the Rumble.
