Nick Khan doing damage control at ringside was wild
-
STONE GOAT motherfuckers.
-
Only way I see the main event sucking is if they go too long and not let the crowd carry the match. Which is a real possibility to be honest. I hope they have top notch fuckery like they did for last year but who knows at this point.
-
For all the talk about Mania prices being insanely expensive (and they were, no doubt), that stadium looks fucking jam packed. The sold like 10k tickets in the last week or something?
-
Can't speak on the match as a whole but those last 6 minutes of the opener was probably the best finishing stretch I've ever seen on a triple threat. Those three are gonna be remembered for a long time with that opener.
-
Ahhh, that's were it was. I went to the lucha sub forum and got depressed at how empty it was, lmao.
-
Man, this news having barely any traction here and basically none at DVDVR really shows how these boards are truly dead

Darby starts his Everest climb next week it takes about 2 months to do the whole thing (acclimatization, getting to base base camp, descent, etc.). So if anything, he could be back with like 4-6 Dynamites left before All In 2025. If for some dumb ass reason Darby is still the end goal of this atrocious fucking angle, he still ain't winning the belt at All In.
-
The fact they introduced the Bucks, an act fans have been pretty clear in not giving a flyng fuck about for about 2 years now, to this angle is dumbfounding. How the hell is TK dumb enough to copy the "be mad at the company to get heat" formula that never worked for WWE?
-
This Moxley shit has really reached late 2010's Vince McMahon levels of "fuck this company" booking. How can the payoff for this be worth it at this point?
-
I truly hope this Goto run is being used to reign down on match length. All his title matches have been shorter than 25 minutes and I fucking love that.
-
They probably went to AEW thinking they could get a Cody-type boost in their stardom as well, lol. I hope Rusev can a get a good push and he takes full advantage of it before going to shit, as he tends to do
-
Yeah, I'm like wtf reading some of these posts. If you didn't like the segment for whatever reason(s) that's ok, but acting like it wasn't smash hit and wont mean both an entertaining angle and continuing WWE's current boom is baffling.
-
I hate that Stone GOAT refuses to come back to confront this current version of Rock. A pissed off Austin on Netflix could be fucking amazing.
-
That final segment was fucking great. Last year Cena gave an interview to Van Vleet were he basically told what he was about to do as a heel, step by step. when the idea was seriously thrown around for the first Rock match. If that is what he's gonna go with, we about to hit levels of fuckery as high as last year's. I fucking hated that EC main event. Don't know if it was the crowd, the camera angles, the through the motions actions or the three things combined, but that shit sucked.

A little late on this but regarding letting talent rest at home while collecting a paycheck. I think that as long as it is someone that had a good run in either of the top 2 companies, it absolutely works on their favor to not do anything. They avoid injuries, they still get paid, and their reputations amongst the fanbase grows larger because they will see them as a "victim" that deserves more. So I honestly don't see the "fucked up" part in doing that as long as it doesn't get ridiculous with the overtime months added due to injury. If anything, it's a huge mistake (mostly on AEW's part) to not use them to put other people over. Even of you job someone out and make fans "angry", you at least have the potential to win something by making other people beat them in a -hopefully- good feud.
-
He finally did it, holy shit. I can give props to Gedo after years, dear lord.

I thought the men's Rumble was the best booked one in a long ass time (except the in ring action, though my first guess is that's more on the wrestlers than on the booking). Pretty cool message that Jey is the one that ends up winning in such a star studded match. I honestly can't remember if Nakamura winning was an unpredictable surprise but I for sure remember Sheamus and Jericho being the last two, with Fella winning was a big shocker.

Really like the graphics with all these stats. Wild how they never did it like this before.

I always got the "on paper" argument in favor of running with Mox and this angle, but for the life of me I just couldn't understand why anyone would believe AEW could pull off that kind of program when the past 3 years it's been pretty clear that's never been their strength. I was repeating myself like crazy in September and October how much of a dumb idea was to go with Mox and try another heel "take over" angle just months removed from the DUD that was VPE/The Elite takeover storyline. The fact they sacrificed Swerve's run so they could give Danielson's "full time retirement" for THIS angle is dumbfounding.
-
It's been a whole ass trimester since TK decided to once again give Mox the ball and run with whatever idea he had in mind. I remember reading people saying it was an opportunity to make guys like OC and Darby and for the roster to "step up" kayfabe wise. Has any of this actually happened? I just read that Darby is going away for months to prepare for Everest, I guess he might make All In? can he even get enough momentum to be the guy to dethrone Mox by that point?
-
That was a spectacular babyface promo by Cena. So cool to watch the whole crowd play along with it after so many years of him doing that type of promo and getting half boos just because.
-
Eh, they were clearly trying to showcase the biggest players to the new Netflix audience. Cole having to explain who everyone is and their current angles was a prime example of that as well. It's kinda annoying but I feel like it's the smart thing to do as well.
-
That was Corporate Dwayne, not the High Chief I hope they are swerving us and he beats someone's ass with a belt tonight.

A little bit of Netflix on that HHH showcase
