After Dynamite I'm 90% sure Swerve is winning convincingly. Even though I think that is the right call in all honesty , I don't think I can stomach watching it live. Probably gonna watch it with an hour delay on Thriller.
-
I think Youtube is the best option in the U.S from what I've heard.
-
I think that's a given, he's been promoting the match as the "Final Countdown" for Danielson's career.
-
The "Birdie told me to get out of the house and leave her alone" Danielson comeback in 2032 is gonna be glorious.
-
He's had matches with Takeshita, Brody and Shibata in the past year.
-
Also, this Ospreay/Tiger Drive angle was a great idea that they couldn't really execute. I think they hurt it first by Dragon coming back so soon (even though he's fucked up and it will probably cost him his "career" at Wembley) and then by rushing the need for him to hit it again. This should've been at least a year long, very slow paced thing that got accelerated for no reason.

Swerve getting pissed at Danielson for trying to take this W from him by tanking every off screen interview in the lead up to this match -saying he was ready to retire no matter what- was perfect. Now he "needs" to cripple Bryan and force him to retirement to prove a point. Also, the crowd (and me at home) getting hyped the fuck up after Dragon said he's the best fucking wrestler in the world and has been for the last 20 years was an amazing moment. Like a collective "yes! finally, give us more of this Danielson". It's really frustrating he refused to give us this version in the past 4 years, even when there were at least 3 very clear chances to do so. The month leading up to the first Hangman match was not enough, dammit! BTW I'm now convinced he's losing This sicko is gonna enjoy letting every single fan down (in kayfabe) by taking the most deflating L since Shinya Hashimoto against Naoya Ogawa. He's gonna be so happy he made everyone think he was winning and letting them down so Swerve could be established as the most dangerous motherfucker on AEW.

Yeah, I just listened to an interview he gave the Daily Star and he literally says that if he wins, he'll wrestle until he losses the belt. The interviewer talked about an scenario were he would be defending it for a year and Danielson said no way because his neck is fucked up he really has wasted the awesome job TK and Swerve had to done in this build. "Meh, I'm done anyways" is not the attitude he should be giving in a press tour to sell tickets, lol.
-
It would be weird if they did but if Bryan's point is to make Swerve look like a killer, maybe? I mean, most people agree everything points to a title change at Wembley. But Dragon being Dragon puts enough doubt in that main event, imo.
-
To be honest, if this was any wrestler other than Danielson I'd say he's 100% winning but that dude is crazy and he could very well just fuck around and take the L in front of 50k people clamoring for him to win (including his family) just so he could help establish Swerve further and go home to be a family man for a couple of years.

As long as Zack is dropping the belt back to Tsuji at the Dome, I'm more than fine with him winning it in October. We haven't had a title change that late in the year in a decade so at least is something new. I just don't want Tsuji to wait till mid 2025 or early 2026 to finally get the belt. that kind of storytelling from Gedo grew tired 7 years ago. The fact he couldn't even make it to the quarterfinals was telling, I highly doubt the original plan was for O-Khan to get that spot.
-
So, it's Tsuji vs Sabre in the Finals tomorrow. I know fans feel Sabre is due a title reign but New Japan needs to try and see if Tsuji can give them some much needed spark. Besides, if there's one thing Gedo loves more than a foreigner title reign is repeating a title match at the Dome were the younger guy wins (Naito retained against Tsuji at Sakura Genesis).

-
That would be hilarious but the crowd would probably pop like crazy and treat him like an even bigger babyface for choosing them over Birdie, lol.

@Matt D I'm fairly certain Danielson read your review of his match with Ospreay and had this to say about it (32:34 mark if the link doesn't start there). Pretty fucking dope -
Even though the live crowds don't treat him like the biggest deal in the company, I do believe Swerve has taken full advantage of the spotlight he's been given as champ. Dude just feels like the World Champ. Yuta getting sent to a kayfabe hospital while Danielson has to watch what's in store for him would be awesome storytelling. They better not fuck it up next week.
-
Really interested in what type of match they work and if the crowd will buy into it. Gonna be a stark contrast to MJF vs Fletcher, most likely.
-
Why in the name of fuck did they remix Roman's dope ass theme? This bootleg Avengers shit isn't even close to the epicness of the last one
-
For an AEW story to have multiple versions and reporters having to go "well actually" after shit goes viral.

Deja vu @C.S. https://twitter.com/SeanRossSapp/status/1819558698504630281

Ahh I see, I thought you were referring to stro's post. Which is even more vague that I thought Dave could get, lol.

Where does it say he barged into any locker room?

Danielson being obsessed with tricking people and working them into a shoot actually works in favor of this feud with Swerve. It's hard picturing him losing and making the Wembley crowd go home sad but if there's one guy that would love nothing more than go out with a major L, making people depressed and (pissed off) for making them believe his neck got turned into dust before getting pinned in the main event, it's him . I can actually picture him negotiating with Tony that the only way for him to accept the the title match was a fucked up ending like that, lol. Still, wrestling 101 still tells me he wins and then drops it to either Darby at Grand Slam or Swerve at WrestleDream in the Tacoma Dome. Hell, they might even run a triple threat for the belt that night with all Washington guys and that's his "final" sendoff. I really like I can buy any scenario happening.
