They had a 3.3k set up and sold 2.7k according to WrestleTix. Sad thing is that Grand Slam was at 3.7k sold a week ago. They'll be lucky to sell 6-7k (in 19k building) and get a ton of comps to try to fill half the place up.

I'm still upset that fucking Mox is gonna end his title reign. Save us Darby! pleeeaaaaaase Hell, I'll take Nigel winning in a shocker at Grand Slam, lol.
-
Kentucky crowds have always been AEW's worst so I'm not surprised. Nigel with the Danielson match announcement had 100 people reacting to it, lol. It doesn't help they are in a 20k building and there's like less than 3k in there either.

Show was excellent. Felt Mercedes/Shida and Dragon/Perry went 5 minutes too long each but they were still damn good matches. Opener was really good. Skipped most of the tag match and the 4way. Don't give a damn about Bucks matches in 2024. I hope we get a proper Okada vs Takeshita feud, it's time to give Rainmaker a real rivalry. PAC vs Ospreay was exactly what I expected. Not the style I prefer but when it's done at that level it's impossible not to have a blast watching it. Stat vs Willow was fucking awesome. I loved how they forced the crowd to care immediately even though they were following Bruv/Pac. Swerve vs Hangman was fucking insane. I knew they were going to go crazy but I was still caught off guard by all the shit they did. On one hand I liked how uncomfortable the crowd was, barely reacting to any of the nearfalls. they didn't really care about who won they were just watching a horror show. But on the other hand, if the match would've had a hot atmosphere it could've surpassed the Texas Deathmatch. Alas, a dope main event anyways. I swear, if Danielson stopped Swerve's reign only for him to put fucking Mox over AGAIN and give him the "retired Dragon" gimmick I'ma be PISSED. I know he's legit one of his closest friends in the biz and the one that convinced him to sign with AEW but come on, give that rub to someone that actually needs it.

They gonna end up selling more than 2.5k tickets after Swerve vs Hangman in cage was announced. Can't remember the last time a show got that kind of bump in such a short amount of time just because of 1 match (I highly doubt MJF/García, Monet/Shida or Danielson/Perry made much of a difference).

Reports from today indicate exactly this. First ep. supposedly starts with a disclaimer that most interviews were done before the 2022 allegations and all that ensued until Vince was finally/completely ousted from the company. And from then it's mostly a linear recap of events. With the final episode focused on the Grant lawsuit. So it does seem we gonna start with a lot of wrestlers take on Vince and slowly but surely get more talking heads. I did read they at least got the journalist that have covered Vince's cases before like Phil Muschnick, Khadeeja Safdar and Meltzer. Also read that Bruce Pritchard talks about the Grant lawsuit so that's gonna be something.

Watching the trailer it seemed to me the docs hypothesis is that Vince worked himself into a shoot and he became the Mr McMahon character, which would explain his abusive and deviant behaviour. I hope I'm 100% wrong but that's how I read the ending to that trailer.

That was a perfect angle to close out the show. Hangman's derange cowboy gimmick has been such a home run, I went from not giving a single fuck about him to looking forward to what his hating ass is gonna do next. Swerve better win though! I don't give a damn about Page still not having a W over him! Also, we need more Mark Briscoe, every hyped promo he cuts is gem.

AEW Bloodsport. I hope it's the Hurt Syndicate and not Shane who shows up.

García better weigh his options right because if he's as broke as to having to pawn a ring to afford a ticket to London, gawd damn son. Feel like Perry vs Danielson should be at best third from the top at All Out. PAC vs Ospreay is gonna leave that place dead after all the cool shit they are gonna do and Hangman vs Swerve in the cage should be the main event. Nice card though.

I thought he did good as well. The only thing that didn't work was the head stand spot he likes to do in the corner. He tried it 3 times and every one felt clunky. But I think it was because the people he tried to do it with didn't understand what they were supposed to do so they just stood there and never put themselves in positions to get kicked.

This spot right here is an all timer. Bloodied up. Screaming "I love you" to his family while getting kicked. Then slapping the shit out of Swerve and Birdie getting all excited at her dad being a crazy old man
-
Danielson is absolutely fucking insane. Getting his bloody face get kicked in right in front of his 7 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Then SCREAMING at them "I love you" while getting his chest kicked in and firing up while Wembley started to come unglued. Bah fucking gawd. Swerve better get that fucking belt back at Tacoma but holy fucking shit am I happy we get to see the best cotdamn wrestling in the world for another month in AEW TV/PPV.
-
Not surprised Perry won but Darby is challenging for the main belt in like 4 weeks so I wasn't expecting him to get his whooped. Sting to the rescue was dope as fuck though.
-
It was so damn long that I honestly don't know if in the end it was worth a damn because they got the crowd to engage or it's just me grasping at anything. Britt was worthless in the match besides the Eddie spot.
-
Mercedes did everything in her power to make that match worth a damn. She kinda did?
-
Darby and Perry might have to brawl all over Wembley, lol.
-
TK getting Ezio Auditore to do voice over work is killing me
-
The bloodbath Hangman and Jarrett are gonna have soon, dear fucking lord.

This has been the best Royal Rumble -non Royal Rumble- I've seen.

They had a much smaller set up this year. There was a Taylor Swift concert that made it basically impossible for them to change the set up from her shows (either that or they just piggy backed on that set up to cut costs on production crews). After the 1st advance, they just set their goal to 50k and that's what they got (53k according to WrestleTix).

Those Sgt. Pepper outfits are the best thing the Bucks have done in like 18 months.
-
Taz should've done that 5 minutes earlier so the match was shorter, lol.

Major props to Toni Storm. Found a completely new character, got it over huge AND got to make someone new from scratch in Mariah. That was a very good match and much better than I expected (didn't really like May matches prior to this one).
