Watching the press conference post show and it seems they are gonna build to Ospray winning it all at next year's WK.

I find it hilarious that the talk from this thread went from "you should appreciate Bryan Danielson while you can, no matter what he does" to "donating money to good causes is bullshit if you have money".

First "aw damn" moment was early September when it was announced AEW was booking a 1/4 show in Seattle. Which it meant there was no way Danielson could work WK. No one that knew that the show was his hometown ever thought he was working New Japan on that date, that's not the issue. I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised about people being disappointed that his match would be another "Danielson vs solid worker" TV match when TK books big matches for his biggest stars when they wrestle in their hometown. This being the first time they are doing Seattle is even more bleh. Basically, TK first took the date out of the equation by booking Seattle and then gave us an uninspiring match for the occasion. If you think a Tony Nese match is something to get excited about, more power to you.

Agreed. Wouldn't shock me if it was Dragon's idea and TK was like "OK!" like a happy dog.

I guess we'll get a MJF/Danielson angle next week but color me disappointment that his "homecoming" match is against Tony fucking Nese.

I find it very weird that they didn't build the 1/4 show that much. It has Starks vs Jericho but not much else. At first I thought the main selling point was going to be Danielson vs MJF considering it's in Seattle but so far Dragon doesn't have anything important booked for Wednesday (missed opportunity, imo). The 1/11 show with the ladder match and Saraya's mystery partner feels like a bigger deal. Seems younger people were watching Bowl games, the demo was pretty low this week.

I mean, it works for the live crowd but I honestly don't think anyone watching thinks this is an epic series or that these teams are elevating one another or that the belts are being elevated either. It's just fun flippy shit (or amazing flippy shit depending on how much you like the style) we get to watch weekly. I don't think it's bad, it's just whatever. Having said that, I'm expecting some insane shit to happen in two weeks. I hope Rey Fenix survives.

That got a lot better in the 2nd half, cool opener. Agreed that Page in control was a DUD, even on the FITE feed that shit died a death. Felt weird how Excalibur didn't mention Dragon winning with the Regal Stretch, kinda of an important thing considering the whole feud with MJF is based on Regal.

To be honest, the most interesting stuff from the Dax podcast seems tobe what he didn't say but kinda implied...sounds like they don't plan on leaving AEW. That last sequence was very weird but a really good main event, loved the atmosphere. Would've love for them getting a couple more minutes for bigger entrances to make this feel bigger. Regardless, it got the job done and I truly hope Ricky gets big feuds in 2023, just continue to elevate the guy. I guess Dragon is jobbing to MJF in Seattle. Gotta wonder who steps in for Revolution in March, maybe they do Omega vs MJF?
