  1. Probably wont watch but wanted to comment that after a decade, a WWE PPV will be TV-14, rumor is of course they are planning on doing violent stuff and blood. I guess Seth gets Orton'd by Brock? Full Card: Universal Championship Match Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins Raw Women’s Championship Match Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya WWE Championship Match Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton Trish Stratus vs. Charlotte Flair SmackDown Women’s Championship Match Bayley (c) vs. Ember Moon Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon — If Owens loses, he will quit WWE Goldberg vs. Dolph Ziggler United States Championship Match AJ Styles (c) vs. Ricochet Finn Bálor vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match Drew Gulak (c) vs. Oney Lorcan
  2. Naito's case I think is worse because at least Nakamura was pushed as the main guy for quite a while. He just never had the gimmick/character work, nor was over enough to match his push. Then he went to Mexico and he finally had the complete package but he never got the main title again. Naito got a 2 month transitional reign and that's it, that's really fucked up considering he's more over and more of a draw than Nakamura ever was. What's funny is that if for some miracle Naito actually wins this G-1, it would also feel like Ibushi got Naito'd this time around
  3. Over/Under for ridiculous kickouts in Cole vs Gargano? 4.5? I can only imagine the 45 minute "epic" they are gonna to come up with Shawn Michaels as their agent
  4. Ibushi vs Okada drawing well was expected considering how protected that matchup is, but still, gotta point out how impressive is selling 9.6k tickets for night 1 of the triple header they've been doing in Tokyo the last five years. They did 50% more than Okada vs Tanahashi last year and more than 2,000 than the previous "record" for night 1 (Naito vs Tana at Sumo Hall in 17, which sold out the "small" set up they use). This once again confirms how massive an Ibushi challenge at the Dome would be. Poor Naito, man.
  5. Man, I'm suck and tired of Bryan cutting this fire ass promos that never make TV.
  6. I'm still pissed off at not being able to watch the Osaka show, but holy shit this was fucking AWESOME way better than their match a couple of weeks prior - which was mainly a good build up to Nomura vs Okabayashi - as this one had everyone fully involved and doing compelling stuff. For the most part it was the Fuminori Abe show, my dude is just fucking great at being a little cunt motherfucker be strutting, interfering, doing sneaky shit on the apron, kicking and slapping the shit out of his seniors, he had the most unconventional and compelling face in peril segment I've seen in a long ass time. Give this man a raise and an award. Other stuff to love was Nomura and Yuji still beefing, Nomura's counters and kicking the shit out of each other with Daichi, Kamitani showing fire for days against Sato, and Nomura & Abe being best buddies till eternity. This is legit a MOTYC for me (I realize I tend to overhype these matches, but this was sooo much fun), it's 17 minutes of pure action, stiff strikes and disrespect. And when you put that formula with wrestlers like these and in Korakuen Hall, you always strike gold
  7. I'm surprised that a lot of people in this thread are going this way or throwing out an equal. Before GWE I would've bet that Kobashi was going to end up higher than Misawa but he ended up 4 spots and a lot of points behind him. I haven't really thought about people revisiting All Japan since the GWE project so I was expecting more people voting for Misawa (who I still put ahead of Kobashi by some margin).
  8. Consider it for what? And Jumbo never develops the style that lead to Misawa and the other pillars without Choshu showing up in All Japan...
  9. So when is Summerslam? Like, do we find out this week is Bryan is in a program with Reigns because he wanted to kill him? or is the reveal gonna happen next week?
  10. I was impressed by Seth's reactions early last year. I was watching very sporadically but dude was, at that time, more over than anyone else that I saw. I thought that maybe he was finally about to have a Jeff Hardy 2.0 type run as a babyface. Rollins first run on top as a heel in 2015 (?) was the thing that made me stop watching weekly for good - very few things since then have made go back to watching more than 2-3 weeks in a row -, never really thought dude was good enough to be a top guy but I thought hey, if the crowd loves the guy so much, then go for it and give him a green light push. But then I saw his match at Summerslam against Dolph and realized that the crowd wasn't there for him at all, eventually turned on the match and dude handled it like a spoiled brat. And that was that I do agree that RAW didn't have many more options than him for Mania once Braun was cooled off to death. The argument then would be "why not try for real with other people in the 2nd half of 18'?" but my guess is that by that point everyone knew that WWE booking couldn't pull off something like that. You basically need a Daniel Bryan type forcing them to give new people shots and making them legit threats/stars to the point that they have no other shot, and RAW didn't have anyone that could do that.
  11. I put Bryan at 15 for the GWE project. I think he definitely gets to top 10 if I'd ever do that sort of list again. I had Jumbo 5 and I'd put him a little lower next time, I think they'd be a nice 7-8 combo. But who knows, if Bryan gets another run like last November-April, he's gonna creep in that top 5 territory.
  12. Come on man, I broke down the scenarios for Naito and White a couple of days ago. No need for Dave
  13. Naito vs Shingo lived up to the hype, go watch it!
  14. I had MOTYC expectations for this match just as I had for Ishii/Mox, like I said that time, that's never a fair hype to have, but sometimes the match lives up to it, and this one did the first 10 minutes or so could've been the usual "whatever" part as most long NJ match tend to have, but I was compelled by Shingo getting pissed off at Naito's antics and proceeding to beat the shit out of him. I think the only bad transition was Naito going back on offense after that first control segment by Takagi, but that's basically the only criticism (which is incredibly minor) I have for the match, the rest was fucking awesome. Shingo being a dominant force, landing some incredible strikes and throwing this dude around, which forced Naito to pull off some great fucking counters to reset the action gave the match the sense of urgency it deserved. Osaka chanting for Naito both times the both of them were on the canvas near the end was dope as fuck, so was the drama. This was great, go watch it!
  15. And there it is, night 1 at Budokan is gonna have one hell of a main event.
  16. Well, D-Bry did say he had to do something he had never done before. Killing Roman would be a first for him.
  17. It's gonna be interesting, but Bryan is such a good heel that fans might just boo him because it's fun or what they are "supposed to do" with him reaction wise. The crowd might be too smarky too cheer Roman though. But I think if they let him have another amazing match with each other, it could get the reaction they want. But what do I know, I thought the same thing when they faced at Fastlane and it didn't happen
  18. He might've changed his name but fuckery is still Mox's kryptonite
  19. Considering it's Jericho, I don't think we should take that quote so literally.
  20. 14 minutes of two dudes kicking ass. Dickinson asked for this match months ago and it seems he's been wanting to face Daisuke for years so you knew he was going to go all out on his dream match, he did not disappoint. Not a lot of story here, it's basically the two of them taking turns trying to beat the shit out of the other, with Sekimoto being more dominant and Dickinson having to find extra energy to keep up. Fucking LOVED the finishing sequence because it was incredibly intense, had the crowd going crazy and the visuals of the sweat flying off with every stiff strike were outstanding, also loved that for as intense as it was, it didn't have any excess. I was eager to watch this and I'm glad it delivered in spades.
  21. The problem with that is that it would mean tanking 2 of the 3 Budokan Hall shows because there would be no stakes in them. Budokan is way too big of a building to rely on "great matches that don't mean anything", specially when it comes to a tournament. Mox and Okada have too big of a lead in points already that them going unbeaten to the final day of their blocks would mean they would've already qualify to the Finals. Unless those shows are already sold out (or have something like 8-9k tickets already sold), I don't see Gedo doing that.
  22. I'm interested on how Gedo books the coming days for Block B because he has to have at least two matches with legit stakes for the Budokan show, and that means Mox has to start losing and one of the people that gives him that L (White and/or Goto) have to win out to have a chance on the last day. Naito could win out but for him to have a chance he needs Yano to at least get a double dq/draw out of Mox and for White and Goto to beat him too. That could lead to 3 matches at Budokan having Finals stakes, depending on how Ishii or Goto get to that final day. More "traditional" scenario would be White winning out, needing to beat Naito at Budokan and for Juice to spoil Mox so he could reach the Finals.
  23. First big shocker of the G-1 today. The plot of Block B thickens.
  24. So Smackdown is doing a house show in Nashville, they put it on the Network, called it "Smackville" and I had no fucking clue it seems I wasn't alone.
