Realistically, yes, you're probably right. But for the "how many times" part - I'm pretty confident in saying I can handle at least 40 minutes of that.

I took the 1984 debuts from the initial post, the list sony posted, the list Boon posted, and names Kev posted in the other thread, stuck them in a list, removed all the duplicates, and then ran it against a list of all the guys on current rosters and free agents and removed those duplicates. Here is the caveat - if there were minor misspellings or such, a guy could slip through the cracks. I didn't have time to check each name individually. If someone is listed on a current roster under a different name, that would also fall though the crack. So, might wanna double check. I also did not check actual debut dates or anything. The following guys were in various rookie lists but on a roster and were removed from the draft list: Athol Foley Ben Bassarab Bill Cody Cal Manson Cy Jernigan David Morgan Frankie Laine Fred Curry Gino Brito Israel Matia Ivan Putski John Cosman John King Johnny Wilhoit Josh Stroud Louis Laurence Mighty Igor Mike Allen Randy Barber Randy Rich Robert Reed Roy Lee Welch Sam Houston Scott Armstrong Sonny King Tony Colon The draft list then is: Aaron Holt Andre Lago Andy Moreuir Baby Doll Bam Bam Bigelow Barry Bruno Bill Armstrong Bill Murdoch Billy Jackson Billy Travis Billy White Cloud Blackie Guzman Blue Demon Jr Bob Belinski Bob Boucher Bob Boyer Bob Scott Bob Tuck Bobby Jones Brady Boone Brian Harper Brian Lucas Brian Mackney Bruce Dean Burrhead Jones Butch Moffatt Chi Chi Lothario Chris Carter Chris Champion Chris Pepper Claude Gosselin Cyclon Negro D.C. Lesnar being in the Rumble this year would be awesome. This would definitely NOT be and the only reason to do this is if they wanted to book a worse Rumble than last year's. Oh come on man, it'd be the weirdest most unique Rumble ever. Mayyyyybeeee you can let a couple guys get in there towards the end. Basically it'd be like watching a perfect game attempt in baseball. Edit because it doesn't deserve a new post: A compromise between "authority puts him at 30" and "authority puts him at 1" - Authority doesn't enter him, and you run an angle like when Foley knocked someone unconscious and GM Austin ordered him to take his place? I think it was Test?

First, a Bayley/Asuka team up (which is absolutely coming against Nia/Eva Marie) makes me Archer style sploooosh with excitement. I don't think there's a chance in hell Bayley isn't called up in the next few months though. And it's the right call to try. They might fuck it up with her booking but if they don't, she's the Diva's John Cena. Asuka I can definitely see staying in NXT and leading them on the road (are we sure that's not what Finn is also going to do in his division)? Regarding Enzo/Cass ... I agree they need the callup. Ideally in a smark city crowd post-PPV where the entrance gets the mega pop. I hope it happens soon-ish. Imagine a New Day vs. Enzo/Cass feud.

Yeah I definitely read that. It makes sense, she's a guaranteed over act as a NXT Diva main eventer and that's necessary running the more robust touring schedule I think.

It won't take much to make Reigns look like a badass against Brock, I don't think. Everyone else they've brought him out against since the somewhat re-boot of him with the Streak has cowered in fear, save for Cena and I guess Big Show (which, really, kinda makes sense given his size and history of beating Lesnar). So if the guitar hits and Reigns wants him to bring it, he's already a step ahead. It'll be a huge match after Brock enters at #1 next month and throws out every single other guy before the next one can enter.

I think she might actually be ok on the main roster, her charisma is undeniable and they won't be having her do long scripted promos unless her English is farther along than it seems. I like your optimism. I do think her presentation and work is so on point that it'd be really hard to keep her down even if they gave her shit booking.

@dexcetera I get drunk and live tweet wrestlings every few weeks

Mankind wasn't exactly meant to be a stylish character...
-
If you think you're struggling with the brackets, imagine the guy they hired to book it
-
Asuka is so fucking rad. If they let her do what she does here on the main roster (which, lol, I know) she'd be huge for that division.

Building off an earlier post, apparently I do have Gorilla Monsoon as an announcer. I am not a big fan of Gorilla and with Jesse in doing color I am also not super interested in doing a WWF rehash at the booth. I'm not looking for much in return, so if someone wants the Big Ape let me know.
-
I noticed Ben Bassarab too. Those would be the ones I'd be more worried about catching. Won't be hard though, just stick the roster database names in one column, the draft in the other, and highlight dups in Excel.
-
I'm guessing the PWSony list is pretty accurate but I'd recommend we doublecheck, since I did catch Ivan Putski in there.
-
I'm fine with getting it done since I don't plan on being that active, if at all, in it. Gets all the rookie stuff done early. I vote do it.

That Shoemaker weirdo who wrote about wrestling at Grantland even referred to the "Anyone But You" feud as "Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt HHH-Rock'ing each other to stardom" Which, I think you can certainly quibble with his definition of "stardom" ... but that was the vibe they wanted for the feud, I'm sure.

Brody-butcher and ladd-Andre is definitely going to draw a big house the day after xmas. Looks like Austin idol might have bit off a bit more than he can handle... Great show

Saturday Night's Main Event Appreciation

I love everything about SNME. One thing I've noticed ... the promos on the show, not just the opening, all seem scripted. But not in a bad way. Everything feels so tight and focused. -
Glad ya'll like it. I'll do a new one every couple weeks or so. If you've got any cool headline ideas let me know!

I am super stoked. I got impatient waiting for the weekly TV a couple months ago and watched the 2000 PPVs again ... company is just on fire most of the year. I remember being in love with Raw, especially up to SummerSlam, that year ... excited to see if it holds up.

Thing about it is most of the guys who have shown a knack for showmanship made a bunch of money in the UFC. More than they would make in WWE starting all the way at the bottom. Chael Sonnen would have been a good fit for WWE but I don't think they would have ever paid him what he would have wanted to make. There's also the health factor. A guy like Liddell would have a hard time getting cleared, I think. Guys on the mid-lower tier of UFC might be good fits but it'd be awkward to play up their history if the career record is nothing special and they never held a title. Brock gave interviews while he was in UFC talking about how grueling WWE is and how tough the schedule is. Most guys crossing over probably aren't gonna get the big money/handful of dates contract so it might be hard to get them motivated to even attempt it.

With 3.5 months and two PPVs before Mania, is there time to rehab Rusev into something close to what he was last year? That's a dream match for me.
-
Losing Streak Gimmick. Really though, I think you might be right. Reigns-Brock II at WM 33 might be more valuable than at this one. I don't foresee them holding off that long but it would extend the Lesnar shelf life. Then again, how do we predict that far in advance? Maybe Brock walks out. Maybe the job doesn't matter in the end. Maybe CM Punk decides to come back. Maybe Batista or Rock wants a match at 33. Maybe maybe maybe, etc. Do you try to hold off on pulling the trigger and risk Reigns blowing a knee like Rollins in the interim? Or do you go with the rematch that makes sense to build the current/future ace when you can? I don't think it's a clear cut decision.

Can't knock the effort on getting that one over
