  1. The article does say broadcast information will be announced, so I am assuming this will end up on the Network, at least as a tape delay if their Middle East television affiliates get exclusivity on live broadcast.
  2. WWE.com teaser listing for the All Star collection lists an episode with a Roddy Piper match from 1979. Only other Piper 79 footage floating around is a pre-match bagpipe segment from a Championship Wrestling episode and a few seconds clip from a newscast on that nights MSG show so it looks like the dump isn't just recycled stuff from what was posted to 24/7 some years back and there may be other hidden gems that are "new" in there.
  3. A guitar case shaped specifically to hold a championship belt to boot. Beautiful.
  4. Wasn't sure where to put this, but the newspaper I work for did a Top Ten Los Angeles Wrestling Moments feature. A little bit of everything here, from the '70s territory days to WWE. http://www.laweekly.com/arts/the-top-ten-los-angeles-pro-wrestling-moments-9057150

  6. Damn. Steel grate between the two rings. No one getting stuck between. I'm out. Being facetious of course, but damn, just another chip away at the things us old school fans love about War Games.
  7. Keith Lee vs Ishii was awesome. Two big beefy dudes taking turns throwing bombs at each other. I would love for Keith Lee to go to NJPW and spend his 2018 bulldozing his way through the Bullet Club.
  8. Remember all of the stories about how when WWE Network launched there was tons of anecdotal stories of folks calling their cable companies asking how to get it on their TV? Keep in mind that a large number of Chris Jericho's Twitter followers are likely not in tune with other wrestling, or tech savvy to the point where they know how to use other devices besides Roku or their video game system and Smart TVs. I could easily see there being a few thousand people curious to see this next match Jericho keeps talking about on Twitter that only watch WWE Network through one of these devices get confused and angry when they can't find the service on their default streaming device.
  9. I am NOT looking forward to Chris Jericho causing NJPW World subscriptions to rise 25% (which would be somewhere in the 15,000 range last figures I saw) and then Dave saying that Chris Jericho is a bigger subscription service driver in 2018 than Wrestlemania.
  10. The other item of note with Dave stumping for and being a PWG fanboy is that he has always been consistent about being the most passionate about live wrestling he has enjoyed. This goes back to even 84-85 when he was living in Texas and going to World Class shows, and continued into the 90s when he would make regular trips to Japan. It's only amplified now because this is the first time in many years he has consistently attended live shows from a company that is putting out a high-end in-ring product.

    NXT talk

I haven't been able to dive too deep into the spoilers but did Regal specifically state they were using two rings? Or just mention the War Games match name and announce the teams?
  12. Would Impact ratings really dip that much if they just threw on old tapes with AJ, Angle, Sting, and Roode?
  13. It's stunning that I can go on Highspots Network I can watch a boatload of glory years 2003-2008 IWA Mid-South but ROH - owned by a larger media company - doesn't have their shit together in getting their back catalog out there.
  14. I actually now want them to do that because that might actually kill the beach ball gimmick quick. Vince: "You like beach balls, eh? Well, now you will like these beach balls with Roman Reigns! And with John Cena! And with...BAYLEY!" A bunch of neckbeard nerds: "nah, that's okay. We don't wanna play anymore."
  15. Where the Braun/Karen Jarrett story falls apart for me is that with the way wrestling fans follow and stalk wrestlers at airports, and bars and restaurants after shows, that there wouldn't have been a single eyewitness account from a fan who would have followed the wrestlers to the bar. Maybe not cell phone footage but at least a "I cant believe what i just saw after Raw" tweet. It's possible it may have been a private party or a private room inside the bar, but I find it hard to believe that anyone that may have been a fan inside the bar that night wouldn't have reported at least a "strange altercation" between Braun Strowman and a random woman.
  16. I legit think Nakamura would be less damaged goods if he jobs to Cena next week than if he beats him only to go on to job to Jinder at Summerslam.
  17. Yeah, I would classify the time period of Reunion Arena Xmas 82 through the 84 Parade of Champions as the bookends for the full glory of the Von Erichs vs Freebirds feud. After that the Freebirds do their territory hopping and the feud gets revisited a little bit here and there in 85 and 86, but if you started and stopped at the suggested points above, you got the best stuff.
  18. Hoping some more of the Dick Graham/Kal Rudman Philadelphia Spectrum shows pop up. I grabbed most of them from YT before Richard Land's channel got nuked but would still be awesome to watch perfect quality with ease of access via the Network.
  19. Bam Bam Bigelow vs Spike Dudley at Hardcore Heaven 97. Ridiculously mismatched, Bam Bam out for blood after getting complacent and upset in a previous encounter, Spike taking the bumps that made him a fave in ECW, an insane spot that was unsafe for both Spike and the fans in the front row, and Bam Bam celebrating with a cartwheel like he just threw a bunch of Christians to the lions.
  20. I actually think it's going to be really cool also to see matches from late 80s and early 90s Superstars tapings without ridiculously overdubbed crowd noise.
  21. I can't find the link right now but there are Blu Ray extras listed on 411 Mania but nothing that's super holy grail-ish. Attitude Era Unseen has no commentary, including dark matches from Raw and PPVs.
  22. Yeah, the Bruno cage matches I have seen from that era I love that they really do instill "escape the cage" rules as more "beat the shit out of your opponent and walk away" than the race to be first concept that bogs down most modern escape matches.
  23. The camera shot of Bruno looking absolutely horrified as Flair is laughing about Harley Race rolling into a WWF show with a gun when Kansas City was still a territory was spectacular.
  24. Yeah, my vibe with him was basically he looks like Bret Hart without the selling on defense.
