  1. Focus on the wrestling I enjoy. Don't feel compelled to focus on just 2017 if that's not where my passion is.
  2. Someone make a 2016 Yearbook. Even kayfabe it.
  3. Pretty sure we've established he meant that most people that watched it felt that way. To harp further on that point would be because you have affinity towards the "Post" button. For that I can't really blame anyone.
  4. Would it be fair to say that the lack of groupthink among lucha fans actually hurts it? Stuff like MOTY voting (VoW) and WON HOF voting leads to opposing ideas where nothing really can get rallied behind it put out as the focal point? Hard to even put together a narrative or starting place when Volador Jr. is either the best or worst and same goes for Black Terry. Also, got into lucha in part because people talked up MS-1 vs. Sangre Chicana in the vein one does the 6/3/94 match.
  5. Who said that GWE was more than the view of a niche at this current point in time?
  6. Why is that? Not enough character?
  7. It is over. It is finally over. http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-formerly-known-as-always-bury-tanners-part-ii/ There are moments in your life where you can feel the entire weight of that singular moment. Where you know what you are doing is wrong and potentially damaging to yourself yet you continue on. Welcome to Part II of Formerly Known As Always Bury Tanners in which we conclude We Don’t Know Wrestling‘s year-end awards! Things get heated from spirited debate as well as the exhaustion setting in. The panel on the show consists of Tanner, Devon Hales, Dylan Hales, Fray, TJ Hawke, and Sam (that’s a me). I currently have strong feelings on Tanner after this show and debating returning to the Always Bury Tanners next year. Thought we were tight (smh). Anyways, you probably won’t listen to the whole thing but it is an experience. We will be deciding a consensus top ten ranking for Wrestler of the Year and Match of the Year as well as a top three for Promotion of the Year on the episode. Once again, feel free to tweet thoughts on the show with #WDKW or #FKAABTs so I can shamelessly RT or Like your tweets to give the illusion of interacting with the audience. Audio Player
  8. I did the show JUST for you
  9. This is our Bound for Glory http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-formerly-known-as-always-bury-tanners-part-i/ The Year End Wrestling Award Shows of your FRIGGIN’ DREAMS DADDY’O! Belee dat. Belee in Alabama Doink. Last year We Don’t Know Wrestling held the Always Bury Tanners and since Tanner left me to become a full-time Twitter gimmick we thought the sequel should be called the Formerly Known As Always Bury Tanners. On the panel for PART I is Fray, TJ Hawke, Tanner (I’m sorry), Devon Hales and myself. Now I steal from last year’s description. The rules of the awards are not very simple. There will be a top 3 decided for each category in Part I of the Formerly Known As Always Bury Tanners. The top 3 will be decided by bantering, bartering, and general ruckus. Once the top 3 are set we put them in order to have a clear winner and two runner-ups. Also, if you want to tweet about the show use #WDKW so I can shamelessly RT you on that gimmick. Thanks. 10. I rather enjoy how there are at least two more interesting and less "Grrrr on the internet" topics than the threads title. Does becoming a fan in this UFC world color things? Why is it so easy for us to dismiss certain styles of wrestling? I know "It boils down to personal tastes" but how are we developing these tastes to where we create walls to appreciate other styles? Probably anecdotal but on the whole I think someone earlier on in their fandom has a better chance of appreciating different spheres of wrestling. There has yet to be an established view of what wrestling is or can be at that point. I mean, that's probably a thing that can be applied more broadly but I guess I'm focusing on the graps.
  11. In a way I think he was.
  12. http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-cody-is-better-than-kenny/ Road to the Formerly Known As Always Bury Tanners comes to in a close with Sam being joined by Skylar. Skylar is dumb since he has been listening to We Don’t Know Wrestling since the WasimCast days. Anther shorter episode but this time we go all over the plays. Proper burials of folks that may or may not deserve it. Haven’t quite decided if any shots were unwarranted. Assume they were all righteous until otherwise noted. Listen until the end for Misawa hot takes.
  13. http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-that-wxw-tag/ WDKW is a little different this week. This week we are joined by just one guest in the form of Harrison aka TigerMillionaire4. We don’t try and go for an hour or two of banter but instead keep things a little bit more focused as we discuss what Harrison considers one of the greatest matches he has ever seen in AUTsiders vs. Hot & Spicy from wXw’s 13th Anniversary Tour: Hamburg. We essentially do a little audio review of why he believes this match is so good. And I actually watched the match! I’m also prompted to talk about Zack Sabre Jr. against my wishes. PS You can check out some of Harrison’s great pieces HERE! Audio Player
  14. http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-super-kosher/ All over the place this week like We Don’t Know Wrestling tends to be. Joined by Siobhan and JR Goldberg to discuss a variety of loosely connected topics. We talk about light-hearted wrestling pranks, Necro Butcherbeing our lord and potentially savior, and who we would most want to see shoot on green geeks. JR is also looking for Chris Colt porn tapes for research so if you can help him out there that would be awesome.
  15. Are you a Binghamton mark?
  16. This is a good point and sort of something they are failing to see. They are giving out a tremendous value to fans of WWN but they have yet to diversify. While PBTV won't have a single promotion that rivals EVOLVE but their eggs aren't all in one basket. I mean, they aren't going to compete with FloSlam at the end of the day but by adding up all these fanbases of smaller indies that haven't been able to purchase their favorite promotions events online and the lucha niche, they have more flexibility.
  17. Can the consolation be that I have an Earthquake figure on my desk at work?
  18. Grimmas I look forward to your thoughts haha
  19. I only half run my own podcast. Got something together last minute and some people got to gush about Strowman. I felt dumb a lot of the time but I'm okay if it gives some others some time to GUSH about graps. I've got any other week Also, we've started lining up the FKAABT (Formerly Known As Always Bury Tanners) for 2016. Will be recording the week of prior to Christmas. If you didn't listen to last year's I would recommend it.
  20. I agree with the first five sentences then this thing hops off a cliff for me Mostly because New Japan is a trigger. I agree with a lot of the other stuff in spirit. This thread makes me wish a full relaunch of BatBat could happen.
  21. http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-we-dont-know-smackdown/ I don’t watch a lot of the World Wrestling Entertainment which is on full display here. Luckily Fray, Tanner, and Devon are certified SmackDown super fans who fully believe in Vinnie Mac and the Blue Brand. Multiple wrestlers are talked about as possibly being the greatest of all time. TLC is given a little preview. Who doesn’t love a Chairs Match?
  22. Thanks for the kind words on the solo show! http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-motwc-club/ WDKW100 focused this week. Joined by Tanner, Tim B., and Quentin to talk the hottest wrestlers of 2016 and Zack Sabre Jr. We cover the globe, unfortunately. Has Roman Reigns fallen from 2015? Do people still care about Sasha Banks? Is LA Park your wrestling Spirit Animal. I can only answer so many questions at once.
  23. This week I had quite a hard time wrangling up guests for WDKW. I had the bright idea, which seems really bad in hindsight, to record a solo show. I have never really listened to a solo show nor have I ever done one. What transpires is a little less than 30 minutes of me rambling without a single thread that ties it together. I have always admitted that guests make the show, not I. Maybe I should have just skipped this week. But We Don’t Know Wrestling is my time set aside each week to talk wrestling with buds. To talk graps and not just type banter. Even without anyone else there is something cathartic about talking wrestling and all the excitement it gives me. NOT CANON AT ALL! For the love of content I give to you the first and probably only solo edition of WDKW. Next week will be back to normal. http://wrestlingwithwords.com/podcast/we-dont-know-wrestling-not-so-special-solo-show/ Sorry for this being a bit of a WEAK SAUCE show.
  24. This genuinely makes me happy
  25. I feel most people would come down to this. Sort of the "Good wrestling is good wrestling" approach.
