  2. Off the top of my head I was pretty shocked when Ron Simmons beat Vader for the belt.
  3. I used to love watching Dustin wrestle in WCW so much preferred this version to Goldust. Nothing but love with those matches he had against Steve Austin & the unscheduled match they had on Pro is still one of my favs. I did like the 2 Worldwide matches he had with Rick Rude & the Iron Man Match at Beach Blast. Shame in the UK there was no coverage of the 3 matches from Saturday Night.
  4. Which magazine had pics of the Owen/HBK match from 1996? Sounds something like Raw mag would do but pretty sure WWF mag did the article. It pretty much resembled the Feb 96 IYH match except Shawn was split open. Looked more enjoyable than the televised match.
  5. Had this been the 1980s wrestling fans would lap him up. Its a shame in 2014 that you can have a lovable cut clean face because fans rebel against it which is a shame as thats clearly not what they should be cheering.
  6. Thats the thing with WWE. They wont recognise certain title wins because apparently it didnt happen if its a house show. Not just flair but other people. Yet times it stands. There was a point in time when WCW recognised certain runs but WWE didnt. Its a bit wishy washy at times and checking the WWE.com website they dont recognise Fujinami's Title win from Japan where Flair beat him at Superbrawl to win the belt. Even Flair's win from Saturday Night isnt mentioned on the WWE site either when the belt was clearly held up on TV after the double pin at Spring Stampede 94.
  7. Just imagine if that Fatal Four Way had been the Main Event! For me my first magazine I got was the one Roddy Piper was on in the December 1989 issue. From then on I continued to get them on a monthly basis till the newsagent cocked up my order and didnt get the May 90 issue with the Barber on yet down the road they had it in. Apart from that I subscribed to get it I think somewhere around 1999/2000 ish but only because Powerslam magazine was more informative on WWF stuff as when you got a US wrestling magazine it was months out of date. Sad to see it go after all these years as was a part of me and I never truely got rid of the magazines after all the years. I suppose when you have the internet you can find info out quicker anyway and I didnt buy the mag again until last month when I saw the Main Event DVD on it. Didnt know the kids mag was also ending is that why its a Legends special?
  8. Whatever the moment was that kicked off Piper/Hogan for Mania.
  9. Never really seen the point in liking a heel. They are the guys we are supposed to hate. We want the face to beat the Heel. The other way around well throw morals out the window.
  10. I wouldnt have thought so. It would look bad on WWE's image having the biggest & most popular name in wrestling losing to a boxer.
  11. I went with Gorilla Monsoon because the chemistry him & Bobby Heenan had was unbelievable!

  15. I have never enjoyed any of his work. Since his debut he has been terribly overatted, The Legend Killer Gimmick probably could have been given to a better wrestler and while hes been given 2 suspensions so far I dont ever see him getting fired. If he wasent Bob Orton's son he probably wouldnt have made it as far as he did. To think at one time WWE actually wanted him to end takers streak!
  16. Yes, but very few workers are able to fill 60 minutes without either going into long useless resthold and/or "dramatic" selling segments or equally useless endless series of spots and "dramatic" nearfalls. Sometimes smokes and mirrors and overbooking can work around that, like HHH vs Rock in 2000, but matches going really long is usually a sign of complacency in the modern days. For me I did enjoy that Iron man match same goes for the Bret/HBK one alough modern day non Iron man types I think HBK/Cena from Raw that time they went a hour was way too long for me.
  17. Before 1996 is such a easy choice because you had wrestling greats like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Demolition, LOD, Razor, Diesel, Jake Roberts, Mr. Perfect & many more which ive always felt the guys who continued to wrestle after 96 didnt perform the same way they did back then.
  18. As a wrestling fan there isnt too much id want to see. I want Raw reduced to 2 hrs and to cut down on backstage stuff and have more time on the wrestling matches like it used to be on Raw. We need less WWE styled wrestlers & more wrestlers with different styles ie southern etc. I think what made wrestlers work back then because you had to bust your ass to get a spot in WWE instead of just being given spots today with their reality shows or training camps. People worked for loads of companies to improve their craft so they looked so polished when they got a shot at the big time which is sadly something I dont see today. We do need a decent writer who knows about what works. Maybe if we had people wrestle with their heart instead of their brain we could be able to get back on track but I do feel Vince is kinda lost in todays world compared to how great he used to be.
  19. My favourite season has to be WWF Superstars of Wrestling 1989 because it was the first time I watched WWF TV but as I didnt get it till June I missed out on alot of things that happened. Its also got a great match where Demolition got the tag straps back.
  20. For me I always wanted to see a third main show added called Nitro under the WWE banner. They could and should have kept it going for years to come. You have the WWE guys on Raw/SD but keep the WCW guys on Nitro. Have them sharing the PPVs but every so often have the odd WCW guy interfering in a WWE match to further a feud & have a big show like wrestlemania where you could see a WCW vs WWE match.
  21. I would probably say 2004. I really enjoyed Benoit's run as World Champion & when he feuded with Hunter they put on some pretty good matches.
  22. This was pretty sad news indeed when I first read about it. It was probably the first wrestling death in a long time that really upset me. Im guessing because I grew up watching him since I first watched wrestling which is probably hit me hardest. It was a total shock to see him on Raw and then 24 hours later he had passed away.
