Are you just watching the MSG shows from '84 or Spectrum stuff too? Mixing any tv in? Sounds fun. At the moment its watching WWF Championship wrestling and if a MSG is taking place within the weeks ill watch that as in a way to me its a PPV style show with the big title defenses. If the WWF belt isnt defended on MSG ill just pull up a House Show card where the belt was defended so that way im making sure I see Hogan wrestle in a months shows. I think October time was when the big names came in as Bruno is now commentator & Beefcake is in there and you got Kamala, and a few others and Heenan. Will be interesting to see just who debuts around Nov/Dec.

Championship wrestling just aired the title change on the second week of October 84 as suprised they didnt do it for MSG. My mind must be playing tricks as I could have sworn they had more than 2 cage matches. I didnt even realise Bret & Dynamite debuted as early as oct back then considering the earliest Id seen them wrestle was each other in 85 thanks to that Bulldogs tape I had back in the day. Bret looks odd in his TV debut wearing horrible grey pants.

If I remember right I dont think they ever mentioned the divorce on WWF tv. I know they did in a article in WWF Magazine with a divorce letter but it was just weird in WCW considering how Wrestlemania match was promoted by Flair/Liz pics then in WCW the thing happens.

Currently up ot the end of August 84 on my rewatch project and really loving it so far. Just seen Snuka/Piper from the garden that confused the heck out of me, Piper gets busted open and just when Jimmy is about to win Piper clotheslines him and Snuka somehow flies over the top rope and is unconscious and needs to be stretchered out backstage so he can have air on his mouth because he needs oxygen. Did he legimately hurt himself as seems a odd angle to do from just a clothesline. Final match was Valentine/Santana which im guessing was the first time they battled over the IC title with Tito going over and sneeky Valentine jumps Santana and Figure Four's him. Was expecting Hogan on the card but guess he was busy that month even so Bellomo/McGraw did impress me those two having a decent match that went to a 20 minute draw. Some good wrestling there.

I would have preferred a lengthy Randy Savage run with the belt to be honest. Was never a fan of short reigns & Liz turning on Savage in the cage seemed a bit force fed. They would have never done that in WWF because she loved him.

When is it likely the UK will get the Network? Seems now SKY have put their prices up a extra fiver per PPV and have ditched NXT & Superstars and no more free PPVs on Sky Sports seems we wont ever get the network now as this is basically forcing people to fork out extra money that isnt needed.

Greatest Upsets In Professional Wrestling?

Ill agree on this. That was shocking mind you WWE didnt show his matches in the UK vs Doink & Hughes so this was the first time I had seen him. Kid/Dibiase seemed a more shocking thing for me from Challenge. -
For me it seems a shame they even went to a draw with Rude/Jake. Both had a pretty good career by this point and just seems a shame they couldnt have done more. Im probably clutching at straws because Savage was winning anyway but would have liked either guy to get a second match on the show. On the subject of other shows always had a personal fondness for Survivor Series 1989. Mind you it did feel odd Hogans match going halfway through the PPV and the comedy angle with Heenan wrestling and getting slaughtered by Warrior at the end was well worth it. Fans had always wanted to see Bobby get his just deserts the way he always interfered in matches and this was very enjoyable. The only decision I wasent keen on was Rude/Piper.

To be fair though, from what I remember 1993 wasn't a great year for WCW. I know, but nothing good to say with Vader, Flair, the Blonds, Windham, Steamboat on the cards.....? To be fair, there's a lot of times when wrestling looks worse or better at the time than looking at it some time later Going from memory loved that TV belt tournament they did and the debut of Scorpio. Slamboree was a interesting concept doing those Legend matches, Bulldog coming in, Rude/Rhodes feuding over the US belt.

Considering how much of a legend Lawler has been in memphis it was the wrong decision what they did in the end. Lawler should have beaten Miz for the title right there at the PPV and dropped it the next night. Mind you when you look at how bad they pissed up Wrestlemania by having Lawler lose to Michael freaking Cole via reverse decision in Lawlers first and only wrestlemania match was just dire. Just so they can further the feud for Over the Limit for Bret to ref the match. Just a terrible decision mind you im suprised in 94 they didnt go with Lawler/Savage for that show how they used to interact on commentary for each other or when Lawler wrestled on Raw teased a fight with randy.

I wish they had done a deal with Metallica because even when the DVD came out for ONS 2005 it didnt feel the same having a generic theme for Sandman when the crowd was singing.

That one was miles better than the Summerslam match and its kind of a hidden gem in that PPV something you wouldnt expect. Makes you kinda wonder had they let Steamboat/Savage happen in the tournament at Mania 4 because had Steamboat won they would have wrestled if it would have topped mania 3. Am I the only one who has read this multiple times and still can't figure out what he's trying to say? What I meant was in the first round the way the pairings had been set was the winner of the Savage/Reed match would wrestle the winner of the Steamboat/Valentine match in the quarter finals so what I was asking was if this had happen and both Steamboat & Savage had won their matches would that match have topped their Mania 3 match.

You cant forget the best part of that show being Mabel getting squashed by Diesel in 5 seconds.

Never understood why he went over Cena at mania. Just a terrible run and had no business with the World Title. Considering he couldnt even beat Lawler without outside help during his reign says something. MITB Winner has always been something of a cheap way to win a title except RVD's which was a actual match to just jump a champ whos knocked out, I recall he needed help to beat Lawler in the TLC match on Raw as well as outside help to beat Orton at the Rumble and Cole for the Chamber. Then you get to Mania and the ending was just dumb to put Rock on top of that PPV, I know it was just to get even with Cena from Raw but the main event of the biggest PPV of the year was a terrible decision to do. At least do it after the match is over if you cant wait till Raw. Miz's reign has to be one of the worst ever reigns in history.

How is the Network getting on with classic episodes of Raw? Only info I could find is that they are somewhere in 1996 but they didnt show the first one from that year because of some Raw Bowl?

From memory as havent seen it since SV released it possibly 93 time I thought Savage/Valentine was a pretty good wrestling match. The Iron man match from this show is probably the best Iron man match WWE have done. Fans generally I guess dont like it because they went a hour without one fall which is something ive always detested with the HHH/Rock one because of regular moves getting a 3 count. Have you seen Bret vs Flair from Boston in January 93? I dont think so no. All I know is that its a fancam and ive no idea if the one I have pic wise is very good. Seems odd WWE never recorded it or the Bret/Owen ironman.

Speaking of the Bulldogs why did they never get a second run with the titles? So many times you hear about how a former champion would get another run with a championship but for Davey & Dynamite once they dropped the belts to the Harts they got pushed out of contention apart from a odd overseas feud with demolition. When I didnt know much about the history of WWE I figured the Bulldogs would beat the Harts and take back the straps given how popular they were.

I dunno but for me DSF a german channel aired less and less Saturday Nights time they aired the end of 1996 and I was rapidly losing interest in the show because you had Nitro which covered all the big angles. Rewind 2 years back to 1994 and you had trouble keeping me away from the TV when Sat Night would air.

Wouldnt watching on a PS4 or Xbox correct the problem?

Im glad that Flair did one even though it was a tad annoying he kept spitting in a bottle. Love to hear Hogan do a shoot possibly the same length as that guy in Australia who hosts The Voice I found very interesting. Its a shame randy Savage never did one either as every wrestlers should do one once. Hopefully they will try and get Bob for 81 but why does he want so much. I guess there is little chance of getting Hogan to do a timeline. They wound up doing '81 with Rick Martel. But, I'm hopeful for 1982. . . . . Rick Martel was a odd choice for 81 I would have chosen Pedro Morales or Don Muraco as they seemed more relevant to that year. Whats happening with the Red Shoot? They did a Finlay one for Smackdown Blue a while ago and thought they would cover both shows.

Which upset? Taker/Lesnar at mania or the HIAC match in 2003? Hated the Mania match because Brock didnt deserve or need the win. They should have saved it for someone who actually deserved it. Never really got why they just give Brock everything after he pissed them off when he quit because he didnt care about all the sacrifices people made to make him a star. In a way im glad Austin refused.
