  1. Lawler was the first name that popped into my mind. Jim Cornette was second.
  2. I want more of these recaps. Please!!!!!
  3. I can honestly say that I saw Hashimoto live in person at the Barr-Reeve High School in Montgomery, Indiana, of all places.
  4. I just looked it up. This angle was taped in Syracuse on 4/29/92, the same day as the Riots in LA. Coincidence??? Yeah, probably.
  5. She's making "beards" fashionable? Serge was probably not thrilled with that line.
  6. I still pay attention and watch, periodically, the ROH shows. If I still had the push button ordering through the remote control deal, I'd order their ppvs.
  7. Which is better? This one here or the Fantastics-Bodies backstage brawl in Knoxville?
  8. The Hollywood Blonds break-up itself was out of nowhere and WCW didn't nearly get the mileage they could have gotten out of the feud. Count me in as another who wished this one had another 10 minutes tacked on to it.
  9. Apparently, no one here gives a damn about this one. It wasn't bad for what it was. Clearly, the main attraction was Dusty's interaction with the Assassin. I wish they let Gordon Solie join in the commentary team for this match (taking place at the Bayfront and all). Jesse, who I loved in WCW, really doesn't help the angle at all though, with his snide remarks about the Assassin. Said Assassin's "fat man goes splat" bumps off Dusty's elbow were fantastic!
  10. At one point in IWCCW, there were two Tazmaniacs. Noga & Mako. Don't ask me which one was which. I don't know. Their theme music was "Breed" by Nirvana. I guess even in Cartoon Tazmania, they were into the grunge revolution.
  11. Yeah. This. Papa Shango. Repo Man. Berserker. Neon Crush. It was about this time that most of my buddies tuned out of wrestling. They were hardcore fans too. They wouldn't come back until the Monday Night era.
  12. During the brief time I was in "the business", Mike Doggendorff and I had mutual friends. Turns out that Mike didn't have a copy of this angle. I made him a copy. They said he appreciated it.
  13. Totally forgot this one. I hated that original version of WCW Saturday Night. I like curves so I prefer Missy here but, yet, Madusa's brain is pretty sexy too.
  14. Once again, I might be remembering this wrong, but did they tape this like mere days after the LA riots?
  15. Speaking of the puking, didn't they imply that the paramedic that got ralphed on died later in the week? Am I remembering that wrong?
  16. If I recall correctly, it was Bruce Prichard and not Esposito that would be in the future six-man.
  17. I didn't get the Observer at the time. I was still getting the Apter mags (my friend being a spoiled brat got the PWI Weekly and held it over my head that I didn't). So, all of this really was a blur to me. I'd hear about this stuff a little on the news, but, wouldn't really get any detail for another six weeks or so until it was in the PWI. The weird thing, for me anyway, is that this era of wrestling is one of my very favorite. These years are considered a pretty dark time for wrestling but its my wheelhouse. I thought all the groups that I saw were doing great things. WWF was interesting/if still cloying but they were coming to Indy for WrestleMania, dammit! That made it big to us. WCW had the Dangerous Alliance and Cactus Jack and Abdullah and a Light Heavyweight Title and all kinds of fun. USWA (my home promotion) went wonderfully, gutterfully sleazy with the Embry - DWB feud, the Moondogs vs Lawler, Jarrett and whomever was crazy enough to get in there with them and that smug, little punk Brian Christopher popping up. Global, again, wonderful days. A babyface Eddie Gilbert against Bruce Prichard's crew of rotten bums plus all the fun ancillary characters like the Coast to Coast Connection, Chaz, the Wild Bunch, the Davis Brothers. To me, these were fun fun days, plus I may have been popular in school and with girls for the last time. I might have peaked in 8th grade, now that I think of it. I need a beer... Oh yeah, and an honest cat could wear Zubaz! Fun days, man.
  18. Yeah, I believe there were a few guys who said "thanks, but no thanks" after seeing their names on the lineup sheet. I guess the $25 just wasn't worth it. From what I heard, Eddie Marlin would call them pussies.
  19. Back then, I was hoping that somehow PG-13 would sneak into WCW and have a hellaciously fun feud with 2 Cold and Bagwell. Never happened but it was good for fantasy booking during an otherwise dreary Study Hall.
  20. $35,000 for THAT set? Uncle Eric wasn't the most discriminating shopper, I guess. But, yeah, "Flair for the Gold", good riddance.
  21. Truthfully, I just figured they were trying to get a cheap supply of easily blankable VHS tapes for future home video releases.
  22. Rude does make a lot of valid points here.
  23. Its been nearly 21 years and your theory of why Missy was with the Nasty Boys never once entered my mind. It probably didn't enter WCW's either.
