I thought the match was excellent and the finish was clever and well done, but Rick Knox already has the "ref who keeps fucking up" gimmick. I still think it was effective, but like a lot of tropes AEW overuses, it would have been a lot more effective had they not gone to this well so often.

Bold choice to start with the main event

There's definitely a lot of highspots and the Elite are very guilty of being too cute for their own good, but this was specifically a comedy match clearly, featuring a comedy wrestler and Matt Hardy who is good for nothing but comedy spots. Most AEW matches definitely don't go this far. Like I said, I thought this was worked like a fun houseshow spotfest more than a televised match.

One good thing about being back in India is that with their new deal, PPVs are available for free in HD on basic cable. They're not on a major channel so they're not getting paid the kind of big bucks WWE gets, but it's still much better than nothing

Definitely feels like something where I will wait for match recs and check them out instead of actually watching the events, which is basically where I have been with New Japan sincw the pandemic starte. A shit load of dead weight, especially in Block B. Running in small halls will help though; I cannot stomach the thought of watching matches three straight nights in a giant dome with 2000 people who clap once in a while.

Thought this was a great episode of Rampage, everything flowed, and it did a great job selling the PPV. I am beyond excited for Miro v. Kingston

Is it okay to basically pre-emptively ban David Benoit from major league wrestling because his face looks so so much like his dad and well, you know. I ask cuz I see he has joined some indy promotion or something and I genuinely don't know which side I lean towards. A couple of years back, he said he wanted to wrestle as Chris Benoit Jr. and like, that is obviously not happening.

There are too many run-ins and heel beatdowns every week. At this point, AEW's biggest issue is their production and formatting. I hope they pull the trigger on Hangman soon too. I have been thinking about starting a thread in the main forum about how much "The money is in the chase!!" is largely a product of myth and using isolated examples. How many iconic babyface aces won the big title after months and months of losing to the champ? Hogan won the title in a different promotion. Historians always say the long chase took the edge off of Jack Brisco as a draw. The rule of thumb should be to pull the trigger when someone is hot.

God the Good Brothers were absolute slugs in this match. The result makes me think the Lucha Bros have to be winning on Sunday though
