  1. LMAO. I stopped watching NXT after the first 2 USA episodes, but the references has been what I missed the most, although I had heard in the weeks that followed he was way toned down. Judging from this thread, it sounds like Mauro really returned to form tonight!
  2. Master class in selling from the Viper. Better than the whole of TLC IMO, great match.
  3. This stood out as especially awful. Like where was New Day, who were feuding with the Revival and who Roman JUST saved on SD last week or Shorty G and Ali, etc... but then apparently he does have friends for the closing fight? speaking of New Day/Revival, felt the overly choreographed ladder spots were in overkill throughout that. That spot with the superplex where Big E didn't land on the ladder, Dawson did but just gets up and puts Big E back because they *had* to break the ladder at that moment.. ridiculous.
  4. I always agree when talk of that time period comes up. 2012 was probably my favorite overall year of TNA. They are currently running a poll for Impact's match of the decade, Aries/Roode is mine, such a great rivalry, match, and moment. The quality dipped in the years that followed before 2016 rocked back to that level. And yeah all the love for Hogan/Sting BFG 2011.
  5. Throwing in a few of my favorites from Impact aside from those already mentioned: 1. Taya Valkyrie vs. Tessa Blanchard: Street Fight (2/15/19 Impact) Madison Rayne vs. Tessa Blanchard (4/12/19 Impact) Michael Elgin vs. Rich Swann (5/17/19 Impact) Michael Elgin/Johnny Impact v. Rich Swann/Willie Mack (5/31/19 Impact) Michael Elgin vs. Brian Cage (Slammiversary) My favorite WWE match of this year: Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka (3/26/19 Smackdown) And my elsewhere hidden gem match of this year: Tessa Blanchard vs. Serpentine (WOW Women of Wrestling, 9/14/19)
  6. Final card for Into the Fire tomorrow night: NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP 2/3 FALLS MATCH *Brian Hebner refs 1st fall, Tim Storm refs 2nd fall, coin flip determines ref for 3rd fall.* Nick Aldis(c) vs. James Storm NWA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Colt Cabana(c) vs. Ricky Starks vs. Aron Stevens NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS MATCH The Rock 'n' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson)(c) vs. Wild Card (Thomas Latimer & Royce Isaacs) Eli Drake vs. Ken Anderson Allysin Kay & Ashley Vox vs. Melina & Marti Belle Trevor Murdoch vs. The Question Mark Thunder Rosa vs. Tasha Steelz
  7. Wrestlers Court this week is must see TV!
  8. Love it! They were definitely trying a lot of things in this time and had quite the roster. Some gems in there among the hilariousness, Doug Williams had a real good year.
  9. Time to pick up where your reviews left off!
  10. I believe that was JBL
  11. I recall really liking Austin's matches with Benoit and Jericho in 2001 as fantastic later career Austin matches and the best of that heel run. 2 matches vs Benoit in Canada on RAW 5/28/01 and SD that week, then against Jericho on the following week's Raw.
  12. Yes please! A shame how quickly WWE cooled off the Hardyz from that pop at WM and then not using Broken Matt to its potential. Everybody WWE took or took back from 2016 Impact was better served in Impact.
  13. AMEN. The timing of Smackdown turning to shit is no coincidence... Absolutely absurd that Sasha has been stuck to her for 4 years and cannot escape and somehow ALWAYS ends up as the sidekick. Even when they were teaming Sasha's entrance would always be cut short for Bayley's. Sasha does the big return and heel turn but Bayley gets the title runs and has to have her own heel turn. Ridiculous.
  14. Loved this show all the way through. Statlander is awesome.
  15. I took this week more as just taking the holiday week off like other shows do (like Impact kind of did from their regular program) But yeah the PPV card isn't looking great and it needs Tim Storm.
  16. "Nobody paid attention to their entrances or used their flexibility until Melina" lol. Weird episode. But yeah Thunder Rosa is awesome. Never knew that, what did he say?
  17. I think it was that Bischoff had said that at Tony Schiavone's roast or whatever, Tony Khan had stormed out after Mark Madden called him a money mark. Conrad and others have since said that was not true and that Tony had simply left to go downstairs and eat with others.
  18. While they're doing a different act here and Ortiz especially more over the top psycho with the expressions, I think they are both very capable talkers if/when allowed to be. As mentioned Konnan of course was always a big plus to the whole act but their last promo was my favorite of theirs.
  19. hahaha. Popped for this. On point
  20. Just seeing it here but man that NXT tank nonsense is so horribly goofy and lame.

    WWE Hidden Gems

A true holy grail from the hidden gems. Always wondered and that has got to be thee most random of all things for that line to have come from.
  22. lol @ "a lot of top people that people wouldn't expect" *Seth Rollins has been spotted in Orlando!* Outside of Brock/Rey, zero interest in the Survivor Series card and that's the only match with any real stakes or heat to it. 2016 was the last great Survivor Series where the RAW vs SD match was actually really awesome and then the Brock/Goldberg shocker closed the show.
  23. Crazy, Cornette's been using that fried chicken line for 30+ years. He used it about Big Bubba in 1987, later in WWE in 1995, and here it is again. I hope next set of tapings has more Tim Storm. While I've enjoyed every episode, Storm/Aldis from the debut remains my favorite match.
  24. Don & Josh is easily my favorite commentary team in wrestling. Legitimately funny, great banter between them. Agreed that Taya is the absolute best, and I really hope she's not losing the title to Jordynne Grace in this latest feud.
  25. Last week teaming with Charlotte, Natalya makes Asuka tap. This week Becky gets the title shot w/ Charlotte. ugh.
