  1. Looks good. Thanks for all your work with the draft and updating the lists.

  3. "Escape the cage" is essentially the same thing as "grab the belt". I think the best example of both types of match happened in WWF in 1994 with no blood. But a bloody cage match is really the best way to blow off a feud. It's the third and final act in pro wrestling. Hell in a Cell is really cool. Way overdone though. I tend to prefer ladder matches that function more as "object on a pole" matches, like the Stairway to Hell in ECW, or even the early incarnations of the ladder match in Stampede, where there would just be a bag of money hanging above the ring.
  4. It's too early for me to be working and booking at the same time. Terry does not work Japan until 8/25. I was allowing him some downtime before that, but working MSG with Dory is a no-brainer. Edit: The next Terry/Dory tag in Japan I see is 8/25 against Manny/Hansen...
  5. Sheik/Abby: 10/7, 10/14, 10/20 Hansen: 10/7, 10/14 Mil: 10/28 Midgets: 10/20 Terry: 10/20
  6. Signed. Edit: Let's hope you're thinking what I'm thinking (and I'm thinking the Andersons are on your roster).
  7. I have approved all Terry Funk requests. Word from the Double Cross Ranch is that he will accept only 5 more bookings for this period. At some point, Stu may have to call in a small favor from Crockett for these dates.
  8. KY Wakamatsu David Morgan
  9. I'd like to select two names which are not on the list, but who worked prior to July '83 and after, and then I'm out of the draft. One guy is a jobber and the other is a manager.
  10. There was no BS there. Sorry for posting so much in the draft thread, I'll stop.
  11. I just picked him...
  12. A crate arrived this morning at the Hart Mansion in Calgary. "From Inn-Oh-Key Doe-Joe", read Jim Neidhart. "Gimme that, you ignorant brute", insulted the Dynamite Kid. He pried open the crate and found: with a note:
  13. I also forgot to draft two of my other sons...
  14. The Angel (Frank Morrell)
  15. Hubert Gallant
  16. Hubert Gallant
  17. Arigatou gozaimasu.
  18. A Mystery...
  19. Yes. TERRY FUNK is also accepting booking offers for August 6th through August 22nd. He has a brief opening between bookings in Japan, and rumor has it these will be the last dates he accepts for the foreseeable future. Mr. Funk is open to select one-shots only.
  20. "Canada's Greatest Athlete" Named Goodwill Ambassador Calgary, AB -- Wrestling promoter and trainer, Stu Hart, has been revamping his regional promotion within the past months, making preparations to take his locally televised wrestling show, Stampede Wrestling, to national syndication. Not only has Stu handed the book over to his son, Bruce Hart - as well as outsourcing television production to a company in Vancouver - now Mr. Hart has given up his seat on the National Wrestling Alliance Board of Directors to a former World's Heavyweight Champion. "Big Thunder" Gene Kiniski, who debuted in 1952 and went on to hold championships in Canada and across the globe, has agreed to represent NWA Stampede Wrestling as a goodwill Ambassador for both closed-door NWA Board meetings and in person at live wrestling events. "I think it was a good decision to bring Mr. Kiniski on as our figurehead", says booker Bruce Hart. "It makes sense. Gene has the kind of leverage with the Board that only a former Canadian Champion could have, and that is something vital to a small, yet ambitious promotion like Stampede. [stu]'s making a lot of positive changes to the company, which started by running shows directly in Vancouver and followed through by giving me the booking reigns and now by letting Gene handle the politics. This way, Dad gets to train the talent, I get to book the talent, and Gene gets to saddle up and fight for the talent in the presence of the Board. It all runs together to form what will hopefully be a well-oiled machine." NWA Stampede Wrestling Ambassador Gene Kiniski will make his first public appearance for the promotion as part of NWA Maple Leaf Wrestling's Canada Day Super Show on Friday, July 1 in Toronto at the Exhibition Stadium. Stampede Wrestling returns to action Friday, July 1 in Calgary at the Victoria Pavilion.
  21. If you're sticking with one, you probably want to stick with the WWF one. That had the longer history in New Japan, tying into Fujinami. It also would get defended again in the US in the WWF. Yes, please keep the WWF titles and let Stampede take over the NWA Jr. title.
  22. TAG TEAM CHAMPS TO TAKE ON ALL COMERS Calgary, AB - National Wrestling Alliance International Tag Team Champions, Jim Neidhart and Mr. Hito, of promoter Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling, have announced a new desire to defend their titles against any and all competition. To celebrate their new found devotion to tag team wrestling, the champions have selected a new team name and created new entrance attire for themselves, inspired by the Mad Max film series. Neidhart and Hito, now know as The Dungeon Masters, will wear spiked leather jackets and helmets to the ring, giving them an aura of brutalization rarely seen in professional sports. Hito is a trainer at Stu Hart's wrestling training school, known the world 'round as The Dungeon. To add to the mystique, Neidhart has adapted a new finishing move known as the Torture Rack, which makes use of his impressive physical strength. "We're looking to really establish a name for ourselves as a team out there", Neidhart commented at a press conference. "And to put ourselves on the map, we're bringing the toughest tag team competition to Canada and defending the belts against any and all comers." "They're a fine team as champions, really", Stu Hart mentioned earlier in the conference, "But to really become something special in the world of wrestling, you need to take those belts to America, to Puerto Rico, and to Japan and face the fiercest competition out there. By bringing the teams to Canada first, other promotions will take note of this team and hopefully sign them to matches in other countries." And fierce competition they will get: their first advertised championship defense will come against the monster team of Stan "The Lariet" Hansen and Bruiser Brody on 7/21 in Vancouver. If the Champions survive that onslaught, the next day they will wrestle against another violent team on 7/22 in Calgary, The Mad Tongans. Finally, the challengers on 7/29 come all the way from Puerto Rico with a vengeance on hand...The Invaders (#1 and #2). As if that weren't enough, eventually, Neidhart and Hito will need to contend with the budding local teams in Stampede. From across the pond, the dynamic duo of Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid will not only wave the Union Jack with pride, but they will also kick your teeth in if you're not looking. The Land of the Rising Sun has also produced a top notch team set to make their debut, The Tokyo Hurricanes, Hiro Saito and Shunji Takan. 7/21 - Vancouver (vs. Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody) 7/22 - Calgary (vs. The Mad Tongans) 7/29 - Calgary (vs. The Invaders)
  23. Is there any way you could post a list of all the remaining talent?
