Then don't post? It's simple. There are a myriad of wrestlers I will never vote for and I've left their threads alone because I either can't add anything valuable to spur discussion or I don't have the care to do so. If you want to focus your energy on your list of wrestlers only then do that. Leave these threads for actual discussion on the topic (both positive and negative) because that's the point of the thread - discussion. If you want to say she's not in the top 100 female workers, great, but why?

Do we need to rein Danielson in a bit? WingedEagle's post highlights what I mean. When given the appropriate springboard to leap from he hits great heights but, without it, he's not on that same level. It's easier to deliver hit after hit when you're only given the opportunity and opponents to do so. I'd be keen to see some reevaluation closer to the deadline where Danielson is wrestling on a more consistent basis as well as when the novelty factor has worn off.

@cad How high were you on the Astro/Panther match? After going through your post, and Panther looking like the lucha HBK, I'd be interested to see how you found it. That was the real head-scratcher for me. It was poorly executed overselling with bad comedic elements to it. I think that's the match I have the biggest disconnect with anyone, frankly.

Necrobump for Punk's latest Instagram post: Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland

I'd love for Danielson to take the TNT title (or a new title) in a similar vein to the FCW 15 championship (15 minute time limit matches). A shorter time limit allows for non-losses for guys who shouldn't be going down. If anything, they might even get a small rub in that they hung with Danielson for the 15 minutes. It gives Danielson a streak, without needing to steamroll through the roster, and eventually putting someone over huge. I really enjoyed what they did with Richie Steamboat in that FCW title. First match was competitive, second match almost won, then they go to a longer time limit match where the champion finally loses.

Keep trying to embed the tweet with no luck. Basically, Fenix suffered a dislocation and will be back within the month.

The interviewer added the North American label (asking if Tony has a 'dream signee' and if they 'are in North America) so I wouldn't look outside the US tbh. My hopes is that it is Rush Familia but I'm guessing Hardy for the retirement run.

So many great points have been raised since but I wanted to focus on this. Why limit it to the AEW roster two years ago? What about the talent pool at large that they didn't sign up? That's setting up its own fallacy. I think the disingenuity, for myself anyway, stems from the marketing they did in how inclusive they will be yet their start did not materialise this. It's taken 2 years to get some semblance of a push for half of these people. Jungle Boy, to take your example, might have worked utilities but it was obvious he was their future from the get go. That was the word on the street from day 1. Darby has had his strengths played to since day 1 (as they should, I'm not arguing anything else). My argument is that they should have included more. Someone on the GWE Discord did the math [source 1 and source 2] and women's wrestling has pretty much been an after thought. Swole argued that there has been a great improvement since AEW debuted but there's still a way to go. I'm not sure how that is wrong. Tokenism doesn't change that fact.

This is me looking from the outside in here, so please clue me up. Has TK spent the past few years building non-white talent in the same way they have built (and concealed downsides for) guys like Jungle Boy and Darby? What about the women, we have Baker, who else got that treatment? It's easy to say that the talent isn't there when you're not trying to craft that talent.

Do you mean the Zona 23 match? Also check out the Demus main event, if you haven't. The fact Terry, at 69, is working violent deathmatches in car graveyards is the best. I'm not sure it's good for his health (of course, it isn't) but it's producing great stuff. I think there was a threeway with Pirata, Terry and Romano Garcia, too. Pirata is a shell of his former self but he's willing to gush blood and take a beating. That's all that's needed in these, really. Is Mr Condor someone we should keep an eye on? Such a weird trajectory (in online discourse): lost his mask to a very green Rey and just pops up now, again.

This thread being sek69 talking to himself is the perfect encapsulation of the current state of WWE TV. Even bubba @KawadaSmile isn't bringing the big dog energy anymore. The problem is this is generally when WWE fires off some under the radar bangers that hook people back in before returning to its mindless state.

Barnett is a weird one. He has the Moxley match which is undeniable but he also has actively awful performances like the one vs Thatcher from a couple years back. He obviously warrants more discussion and viewing but I'm not sure where he'll land up because his output range is so wild.

There's another similar trios with almost the same level of hatred between the two (intermixed by terribad workers, as well). I need to give it a think but I'm almost positive I watched it many years back while on a Rayo kick. That is pretty much my problem with Santo/Casas. They build up their stuff so well but the payoffs fall flat. It's a high ceiling sure, and I love the uncooperative/semi-violent matwork, but it isn't the level you're expecting. I think both have better opponents (Santo: Panther/Park and Casas: Panther). Not that I'd ever complain having to watch one of their matches, mind. I got a hold of a match of theirs from Juarez and it is mind bogglingly good stuff.

We are at our highest all time peak currently. Please don't let any numbers you might see fool you. Between holidays and people showing no regard for their responsibility, this is only getting worse.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not aiming to fuck someone up with my face.

This being a recurring spot is worse than the execution. If the opponent is just doing it each time then it just looks cooperatively staged rather than Charlotte looking impressive. Awful spot. Why not roll forward?

I love the fluidity of this board in terms of GWE discussions but this would be a fantastic "pinned post" (can we do that?) for each candidate. A quick "here's their case" that posters/lurkers a decade+ from now can make use of. Fantastic stuff!

I guess he veered in the wrong direction. I'll see myself out

Agreed. If the two lists aren't mutually exclusive then I'd be all for this. I think there's going to be a mismatch in trying to form a consensus on what is 'enough' (for instance 3 vs 5 vs 10). There are so many tangible factors we can't agree on already (peak vs longevity, variety vs singular) that this would just be part and parcel of the bigger issue in finding uniformity (not that I wish we do!). Besides, those extrapolating are a miniscule number, really. All said, I'd be really keen to do a limited footage GWE. Maybe this will clear up the 'who the hell is the apparently legendary Blue Fish and why do we lack his footage' questions I have.

Wrestler of the Decade 2006-2009 = Black Terry (?) Wrestler of the Decade 2010-2015 = Cesaro Wrestler of the Decade 2010s = Black Terry or Virus I can unequivocally say Terry or Virus for 2010s but I can't tell you who would be best of 2000s. It's quite close. I'm leaning Rey but you've got: America: Rey Japan: Akiyama/Satomura Lucha: Santo/Parka One of those seems about right.

Shut it down. We've peaked.

Jack Evans seems to be being extorted by Mexico City police. He claims they planted drugs on him and he is facing charges if he doesn't keep paying. Scary situation to be in.

Cosign joining the Discord and the watch parties. It is a curated and manageable method of getting through the GWE list. Each Saturday is a different wrestler with a 2-hour primer that covers their entire career (and various strengths). From there you can get a feel if someone is worth diving deeper on or not. When you're ready to do so, of course. The watch parties are put together by Grimmas but they take suggestions from those who are most familiar with the wrestler. For example, I helped (in a small way) with rec's for the Mark Henry party. Send in a request and it gets taken into consideration. This is fantastic because it allows many voices across the fandom to chime in. You're not stuck viewing someone from the lens of one poster. Most importantly: don't treat this project like a project, as if it is something that needs to be tackled. From the outside it is a mammothlike, insurmountable task. Breaking it down into bite-size chunks is the easiest way to get through it. You have a LOT of time! Don't feel like you need a working top 10/20/50 in your first week simply because other people have theirs. Also, at this point, don't feel pressured to include names or seek out footage of wrestlers simply because people are pimping them. Start with your cup of tea. Start with your guys. Then build from there. Along the way, in the watch parties, I guarantee you'll get glimpses of talent you had no idea were as excellent as they were (mine: Meiko Satomura and Akira Hokuto) or see wrestlers in different environs and gain a greater appreciation for them (Abdullah the Butcher and Tajiri).
