  1. I haven’t watched any of the TV recently but Duke and Shafir where nowhere near ready for a huge main event program while Ronda was still around. I don’t think it was a missed opportunity as much as it not being the right time for it.
  2. The answer is right there. Battle. Royal.
  3. “Look, if I was going to kill someone it would probably be Dave Meltzer but Simon Gotch is cancelled. Do better, fam. Not a good look.”

  5. They’re so underrated. They will be great there.
  6. Big Dust has done some great work in PWG over the past couple years. His feud with Sabre was very good. He’s primarily a comedy/tag worker most of the time but he can do some serious stuff if asked to. Tickets go on sale for the TV taping on Friday, btw.
  7. The other lame thing is that the WON’s are all in text, rather than as PDF. I think every Torch ever is on their site, along with about a billion podcasts, even going back to Wade ripping cassette tapes of his old radio show from the 90’s. I prefer Dave’s takes but I do usually subscribe to the Torch once a year when they have their sales just to grab all the Bruce Mitchell shows and the retro broadcasts.
  8. I think one of the matches that made me go “holy shit, Roman rules” was one on Raw vs Elias. For a while there he was having excellent matches every week. It almost felt like watching Bret Hart to a degree. I’ve pretty much always thought Seth sucks outside of that brief period where I thought he was good with the IC in the spring/summer of ‘18. He actively drives me away from watching WWE when he is a top guy.
  9. I would be shocked if it didn’t sell out pretty much immediately. They’ve done a really good job of maintaining momentum especially considering Double or Nothing was already a couple months ago. Many of the wrestlers involved have generated so much goodwill with their fans over the years and when you combine that with so many fans desperately hoping for them to succeed/for mainstream American wrestling to be good, I think they will have a fairly lengthy grace period to succeed.
  10. If that taping wasn’t right before Hardly Strictly, I would probably think about taking a flight to DC for it but I’m planning on going out to SF a couple days later for that. I’m looking forward to seeing how the show develops.
  11. At least you already knew her husband wasn’t Ron or Don.
  12. Hyped for Darby vs Janela vs Havoc at All Out. Possibly going to witness a death in person.

I think it’s because they are terrible at presenting wrestling but that’s just my take.
  14. Yeah, I thought the match was awesome, too. I’m just going to love anything with Dustin in it right now, though.
  15. The Gangrel match on the second episode of Beyond’s Uncharted Territory show was more entertaining than any ROH match I have seen in quite a long time, though I haven’t seen a second of their stuff since Final Battle.
  16. I could see them hiring Tony to do studio type stuff like Mean Gene was doing for a while at the end of his career, where he’d do intros for those “WWE Vintage Collection” shows and/or various Network shows that they can tape a bunch of at a time. Then Tony can still do his baseball and WWE can have him under a contract.
  17. Hell yeah, Tony.
  18. This was pretty much exactly how I felt, as well. I thought it was just a solid show. It seems I liked the main event more than the consensus here, and that probably explains it.
  19. My first thought when Jericho came out in the mask was that the Dark Order would work well as stooges for him.
  20. Just finished this one. I thought it was better than FyterFest, mostly because I really liked the main event and thought the 6-man and Omega matches were good, though definitely not great. Definitely some down moments. The women's division continues to be quite terrible. Hopefully Kylie Rae can help to turn it around in her hometown, because she is easily the best they have. I thought SCU was also really bad, but I think I've also possibly hit my saturation point with the Lucha Bros. This thing gave spotfests a bad name. Jericho certainly should win at All Out, IMO. Hangman feels like when WWE tries to heat up a midcarder for a one-off PPV match much more than he feels like a long-term Top Guy at this point. Awful promo aside, Jericho just has more to offer. Also, I'm probably going to cry if I get to see Dustin tear the house down in Chicago. I'm an unabashed mark for him so I just hope he's working the show. He has so much left to give. I'd love to see him vs Darby or one of the other younger guys in the opener. This was my favorite Bucks match in a long, long time (probably Wrestle Kingdom in 2018?). All-in-all, still very optimistic about where they are headed.
