Which volcano is he the lord of? I'd say Lawler definitely has the book back. Does Ta-Gar throw fireballs with no flint or tinder? Can we call him Tim?

Wow Dusty. Just...wow.

I'm pretty sure Arn left to salvage his dignity more than anything else. Bull Drop Inn may be the most inadvertently accurate title for a bad segment I've ever seen. Jason Hervey really needs to go. Or meet Pete's airplane propeller. I'm leaning more towards the second with each iteration of the segment.

Fun stuff with Flair and Eaton. I thought Arn bringing the axe handle in and "accidentally" losing it to Bobby was actually pretty clever. Big Josh is such a bad gimmick.

I liked the underdog vs. champ setup and most of the execution a lot. Two things about the crowd. That crowd shot they went to early was ill-advised. Those middle aged ladies were simply not that into it. And that elderly gentleman in the front row was pretty hot after Embry's cheap rollup.

So where was THIS Hogan all my life? I know they are more aimed at kids, but I really like this version of Hogan against a guy like Slaughter who is going to go all-out to make him look like a million bucks. Easily the best Hogan match I have ever seen Stateside. Right up there with the Hansen match in NJPW. Too bad the build to it had to be so....not finding a bad enough word here...

Arn going to the computer made me sad. Good enough tag and Dustin looks incredible for a guy as green as he is.

So somehow after Ole leaves the booking gets worse? And then we get horseshit nonsense like this to add to the topsy-turvy booking of the actual wrestling. What. The. Fuck. I love Dusty, but this is beyond awful.

Ricky Morton as a heel just seems wrong.

Embry with an incredible heel promo. I like how he addressed everything, but still managed to make Lawler the true focal point of the thing.

Great segment just as a last hurrah for Andre. The big man showed a lot of heart even doing as much as he did, given his clear lack of mobility. 8th Wonder of the World indeed.

That was...yeah...let's not do that again. Ever.

On rewatch (again) here's the thing. Crowd is ROLLING after that opening. Williams goes into that amateur hold he always does and the crowd immediately goes to sleep. Belly to belly kind of gets the crowd to notice after that, a second belly to belly puts them right back to sleep. Great job murdering the crowd Steve.

Misawa's elbow is on it's way to becoming a deadly strike that can end matches against anyone. This is, to my recollection, the first time he's gotten a pinfall over a big name guy with it. Fun bombfest without all the usual Gordy boring stuff.

Yeah you have a stacked roster man. Blackwell and Bundy in 85 are both still big deals. Bock, Koko, Buddy & Doug, the Bulldogs in their prime. Sarge, hall, Sullivan and both the Hi Flyers in AWA. So much to work with there.
-
Great power spots and all, but aren't Sasaki/Hase supposed to be a big deal or something? Looked to me like a super-extended squash. Ricky was far better than Scott when it came to giving something back. Scott sure killed the hot tag to Hase after they beat down Sasaki for a while.

I was impressed with this match. Liger just gets royally pissed and loses his shit enough to go too far when he should be pinning Honaga. So he leaves the slightest of openings and Honaga siezes the opportunity the only way he knows how, cheating to win.

Always like seeing Kabuki treated well. Tony Atlas is somebody I really liked as a promo, so it's great to see him in a prominent position as well. Orndorff vs. Hennig for an hour in 1985 would have been really good.

I'm with the not-so-impressed contingent. I could see some of those goofy spots where Aja was basically saying "nope, not right now" and that wasn't bad. Both did way too much screaming. Some fun desperation stuff at the end. Funny how Aja's selling was actually better than Toyota's here. Match did its' job in elevating Toyota I guess.

Good, stiff work here with a nice underdog win. Hotta was indeed in a mood if her kicks are any indication. Here's the thing that took me out of it. I thought Yamada's headlock and sleeper were well done as well.

Robert Fuller as a promo has been one of the highlights of this set.

Good reunion between the Dundees. Using the loophole for good was needed here after the months of being run over.
