Dundee doesn't look like the best ref for the King. I like the battle of the Hacksaws. Jimmy Golden finally getting something back on DWB is a good thing. The new U.S. tag champs have their work cut out for them.

Hmm, i wonder if Martel will keep his promise. Hell of a main event tag for sure. Some foreshadowing by the Rockers maybe?

I'll echo the love for Atlantis and especially Super Porky. Both other Brazos busted out some good stuff as well though.

Jake absolutely kills it in every promo I've seen from him. You can see the start of a "new" Jake, you get the sense of loss and how it's messing with him.

Funny stuff with the pregnant lady and Bobby making cracks that the crowd was not too pleased with. I'd have been laughing anyway.

Horrible segment. I was pretty sure as soon as 'Quake mentioned he was a chef I knew where they were going. I hoped not, but there it is.

I liked IRS actually naming wrestlers. Kind of ties him into, you know, EVERYTHING ELSE. Savage's line about Piper is classic. Who knew Savage was so good as an announcer? Bossman feuding with the Mountie may be good, but it's got a lot of potential pitfalls as well.

Missy attacking Paul is amusing for sure, but ultimately pointless.

Nice kicks by Vrij, but you never got the feeling Maeda was really in that much trouble. Match does what it is supposed to and Maeda beats the douchey foreigner to the delight of the crowd.

The Rockers continue their massive push. Shawn Michaels is going have an attitude well before the mid-90s at this rate.

I liked how even when things got heated during exchanges Tamura was still far more surgical with his strikes instead of just throwing stuff out there. And he had a definite plan of attack, really attacking the leg throughout. Kakihara looked more like a guy who was, as mentioned above, just hoping something landed instead of putting the right strike in the right place to land.

I liked how awesome (and hurty) the over the shoulder armbreaker looked on a shorter guy like Liger. THAT is something that ought to have been ripped off time and again. The Jim Breaks stomps to the arm and kneedrops that followed were spectacular. One touch I loved was Hase getting the advantage through more heavyweight means, then Liger taking control through flying. Hase decides to go up top, which only solidifies Liger's advantage when he is countered. Great bit of junior vs. heavyweight psychology that makes it's point without overstating it.

Match looked really fun up until things went a bit too far. Was Paul E. watching and taking notes? Because this is starting to feel like ECW could spring up at any moment.
-
Great promo by both, but Gilbert really brings it home at the end.
-
Yeah I can't get behind matches like this. Just too much.

Loved this. After all of the serious stuff before it, we get a match filled with comedy and athletic spots. That dive train was absolutely tremendous and the plancha by Super Porky was awesome. I'm really not a lucha comedy guy, but Super Porky always puts a smile on my face.

[1991-04-30-WWF-Primetime Wrestling] Interview: Ultimate Warrior
dawho5 replied to Loss's topic in April 1991
I agree that Warrior-speak sounds slightly more ridiculous this way. but seriously, this is the most I've liked a Warrior interview/promo pretty much ever. This is a guy I can get behind, somebody who clearly has self-doubts but refuses to allow them to beat him. That's something us "normals" can get behind. Stuff like this could have been a huge boon to Warrior as a champ. -
So much good stuff going on. Roadies vs. Russians, Watts attempting to get Akbar in the ring alone, Dusty gets a Koloff in a cage, JYD and Wrestling II, that is gonna be one HUGE card.
