-The controversy over Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens, the WWF, and Lutte International has risen to an explosive level. Some has suspected that Jack Tunney signed a backdoor deal with the WWF which will give him full promotional control over the WWF in Canada and also a possible on air role. The WWF has been at odds with Lutte for months since they split and joined the NWA and this is said to be a huge blow in favor of the WWF. -Barring some of the issues from the previous story, Andre the Giant has stated that he is going to run independently and book himself for the foreseeable future. He has a handshake agreement with Vince McMahon but feels as though that agreement was voided when McMahon tried to kick Lutte out of Toronto and Montreal along with not letting Andre work the Johnny Rouge tournament. Andre has already said that he is going to go on his own and if the WWF isn't the best place for him, then he will find somewhere else to work. -The British Bulldogs have been vocal about their displeasure over the finish of the WrestleMania match in which they lost the tag team championships...there is talk that they have lobbied this into being booked strongly in the Tag Festival and will come out looking unstoppable and being the undisputed number one contenders for the tag team championship. - The WWF has sent some feelers out about bringing in some new names... especially in the Intercontinental Championship division. -the Guardian Angel (Raymond Trayler) started with the company this week but is said to be very protected. He is going to be under a mask and asked to get into shape for his "unveiling" if you will down the line. The WWF has done this before with talent they see a future in. This is a way for him to pay his dues if you will and build up to being a main talent. -Mark your calendars for Saturday, May the 18th as the WWF will be on NBC for a special "Saturday Night's Main Event." This is going to be a 60-minute sprint with top stars being showcased. The WWF piloted a program back in February to great results and this is going to be the standard for the WWF and NBC if it goes well. With the feedback of WrestleMania being positive, the WWF is doing everything they can to get out there to the public. They signed a 5 show agreement with NBC to have Saturday Night Main Event shows on July 13th, August 31st, October 26th, and December 21st. - The WWF is also looking to hold a big beginning of the summer show called WrestleFest. This may end up being a touring vent with huge shows in the big markets and the biggest show being headlined from Los Angeles. They may try to hold it in a stadium, but in order to have a big enough event they would need to have a very big headline contest.
-
Tony Garea has been dropped to add the Guardian Angel from USWA... he will be used as a jobber until he gets the big call up and takes off the mask to reveal his true identity...

WWF Superstars Vince McMahon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from St. Louis, MO – Kiel Auditorium Vince: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Superstars of Wrestling. I am Vince McMahon alongside Jesse the Body Ventura and Jess… the WrestleMania aftermath has scorched all of us… Jesse: Calm down McMahon and put on some shades… it is nice out. Vince: I don’t quite know about that Jesse… I do know that the action is going to bright and fast paced here tonight, plus we will see one of the tag team festival matches from last night along with the Intercontinental Champion, Randy Savage being in action! Jesse: Hit is McMahon! Big John Studd w/ Bobby Heenan defeated Steve Simpson & Brady Boone Bobby: Haha… the family is coming back together. With Bundy, Haku, Tonga, The King, and now John Studd back in toe… there is no one who can stop us! The Fantastics defeated Jose River & Victor Rivera -A good contest here from the Fantastics who are really building up some steam in the WWF. Vince and Jesse really put over the tag match from WrestleMania and how the Fantastics could just be a sleeper in the Festival! FROM 4/13 Boston Gardens – Tag Festival The Guerreros vs The Russians -We get highlights of this contest with Jesse and Vince doing the voiceover. They put over how Mando was still hurting from that vicious attack by Bart and Bass along with Youngblood, which leads to them being a bad way here with the Russians. We see them put up a good fight but it is just not enough for Nikita who gives Mando the Russian Sickle and puts him straight down, no questions asked for the 3-count and 3 points for the Russians! EVENT CENTER TAG FESTIVAL RESULTS - From Boston 4/13 The British Bulldogs vs the Faces of Fear w/ Bobby Heenan -The British Bulldogs won via pinfall for 3 points The Guerreros vs The Russians -The Russians won via pinfall for 3 points Killer Bees vs The Hart Foundation w/ Jimmy Hart -The Hart Foundation won via pinfall for 3 points The Machines vs the Fantastics -The Machines won a very hard fought match at 19 minutes with pinfall for 3 points TAG FESTIVAL RESULTS The British Bulldogs – 3 points The Russians – 3 points The Hart Foundation - 3 points The Machines - 3 points The Faces of Fear – 0 points The Guerreros – 0 points The Killer Bees – 0 points The Fantastics – 0 points MAIN EVENT Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth defeated Barry Horowitz -A premium main event here with Savage showing why he is one of the best in the business right here. He handles Horowitz without a problem and nails the big elbow. We do get some interesting things here though as Savage doesn’t hold the ropes for Liz and walks off showing off the belt. Jesse and Vince don’t play into it, but you can see it on screen.

Like the Brain said... it isn't technically if you win it is how you win. Every team will face each other... that outcome is important but the rest of the outcomes are even more important.

WWF Wrestling Challenge Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio Matches from St. Louis, MO – Kiel Auditorium Gorilla: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Wrestling Challenge… Gorilla Monsoon here with the Brain… Bobby Heenan… what is your problem today? Brain: Don’t act like you don’t know…. Gorilla: I am not sure what you’re talking about… Bobby: Oh, don’t play dumb Monsoon… did you see the show for tonight in Boston? Gorilla: Yeah, you’re guys got the tough end of the draw… they are facing the former champions… the Bulldogs! Bobby: See the thing about this tournament isn’t just if you win or lose it is how you win or lose and how everyone else does. We are going to need to not only win our match but make sure some others lose. Gorilla: So you are going to try and get involved huh? Bobby: I didn’t say that… Gorilla: Yeah…well I am looking forward to when your Faces of Fear have to take on the Hart Foundation… then you and the Mouth of the South can go at it… speaking of Jimmy Hart, we’ve got the Hart Foundation in action, let’s head to the ring. The Hart Foundation w/ Jimmy Hart defeated Bob Bradley & Terry Daniels Jimmy Hart: You know a lot of people are talking about this big tag team festival and what it could mean to the winners. Well I am right here with the winners baby and there isn’t a team in the WWF or the World that can stop them! Dino Bravo defeated Johnny Rodz Dino Bravo: I am dedicating this match to all my fans in Cananda and throughout the world. I just want everyone to know that I am joining forces with Tony Atlas and together, we are going to shock the world and show everyone why we are the world’s strongest tag team! EVENT CENTER Mean Gene: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the WWF Event Center, I am Gene Okerlund. The aftermath of WrestleMania has sent shockwaves throughout the WWF and everyone can feel them as we head into the summer months. One of the biggest feuds that has continued to rage on is that of Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan. The WWF title may be on the line but it is about way more than just that… Piper: Hogan… this is no longer about gold and diamonds or dollar signs… it is about paying the Piper man. You have gone through so many men in the past but you haven’t gone through me! You didn’t beat me and everyone knows it. Don’t you bling boy because Piper is coming! Hogan: Well you know something Roddy Piper… the time has come for me to reach down and shut out all that hate in your heart dude. You see at WrestleMania… I saw the eye of the tiger in there man and it is almost as bright as Hulkamania! I dare say that I have respect for you in the ring but outside could leave much to be desired. When it is all said and done dude… the smoke is going to clear… I am going to put you down and you are going to have a choice to ride off into greatness with me or be driven straight to the depths in which you will never return!! Mean Gene: A lot of fire there from both men as they continue to have issues… what will it take for resolution? We got word last week of the Tag Team Festival and we will be keeping you up to date with the results week in and week out right here in the Event Center along with showcasing matches here on Wrestling Challenge and Superstars. Jake Roberts defeated Tony Garea Jake Roberts: Randy Savage… I guess our time together is over right… wrong… I am feeding the beast and he has got a certain hunger that needs to be met… looks like you are on the menu! Mando & Chavo Guerrero vs Ron Bass & Black Bart w/ Jack Lanza -The Guerreros are back here in the WWF and doing some fun tag teamwork with Bass and Bart. This is a good 12-minute contest that ends up breaking loose at the end. We see Jack Lanza getting involved outside the ring but this brings out Jay Youngblood who attempts to back him off of Mando Guerrero but then Youngblood picks up Mando and kicks him right in the throat. The referee sees this and calls for the bell as we have got pure chaos outside the ring right now. Bass, Bart, Lanza, and Youngblood are leading a 4 on 2 attack and here comes Hector to try and help his brothers as all hell is breaking loose. Monsoon and Bobby put this through the roof.

I could see him and Mojo teaming up for something... it would be a crazy energy level type deal and they'd have some charisma... pipe dreams but still fun to hope for. -

In doing a similar project a couple of years ago... I spent a good 2-3 years building up Joe Hennig and had him hold the world title for almost 7 months and it went over well. Looking at my own roster... I think the idea of the Fantastics in the WWF, the early form of Demolition in the Machines, and even Gino Hernandez and Chris Adams will be real diamonds in the rough for me. I have some other people I plan on doing "pet projects" with, but like you said... adding stock to someone or value through our booking could prove to be difficult if we don't turn off the real life blinders. Some of the unknown guys could be good or even like a Butch Reed or someone who was destined to be a bigger name that didn't pan out would be a fun way to build things up. I look at Luger and Rick Steiner... in the AWA... he is doing some great work. Obviously we know what they would become but he is doing some good work easy in their careers.
-
The only way would be to be sat on a roster, that's not me making a case, just stating. A question I have got to ask, and looking for more of an opinion, how do grow my roster with my current guys? That's something we have to look at long term. We do have the rookie draft and the beginning of the year... that along with possible alliance loans... those would be the two ways right off the top of my head. In regards to Lawler and Rock N Roll... with all the turnover on the Memphis rosters over the last year they just sat there... now they are being used, quite a bit actually, and shouldn't prove to be too unavailable. If they are, then I would reach out to the individual who has times with them that conflict with yours. If we go down the line and look at a time in which it would be beneficial to have them full time on a roster for the best of the group, then we would go that route. At this point, I would say that freelance is the best thing for them with all the different avenues we've got.
-
At this point there shouldn't be a draft in a while. Unless you can make a case as to why and how they would be used consistently, seems they are best served in the way they are being utilized.
-
They were on rosters that continued to either be stagnant or turned over... this was a way for them to always be available rather than doing nothing.
