Yknow just watching CMLL friday show every week & whatever other current stuff takes my fancy as well as slowly working my way through an abridged complete history of wrestling, image for reference:

I'm not anti Hogan, he's pretty decent in the 80s but to me that Mania match with The Rock is his best performance in any match of his career, and the Brock Lesnar match is fucking awesome and nobody ever talks about it. There's also plenty of fun in miscellaneous other stuff he did that year, for example there's a tag match with him and Rock against Lance Storm & Christian that's more enjoyable than you'd probably expect.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
El McKell replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
You realise his mask is basically the same as Lazer Tron's right? -
Rick Rude - 1992, hands down Hulk Hogan - 2002, better than any 80s Hogan and you can't tell me otherwise Jake Roberts - 1985, This one is tougher cos he always sorta sucked, but he did do some decent stuff in Mid-South Stan Hansen - 1993, tough one for the opposite reason the Jake one is tough, but damn that Kobashi match and that Kawada match rule so much Rey Mysterio Jr - 1996, dude was so consistent though, you'd get no argument from me if you say 95, 97, 03, 05 or 09 Scott Steiner - 1994, all the non-crazy choices here are right beside each other, 92, 93, 94

[2018-08-18-OTT-WrestleRama 2] Jordan Devlin vs WALTER
El McKell replied to paul sosnowski's topic in August 2018
Was in the building for this and the atmosphere was electric, Devlin having only one loss in OTT over the past two years (against Walter in a tag) really helped create the feeling of two big time dominant wrestlers seeing who the better man is. Walter is vicious and has been awesome throughout 2018 -
[1986-08-16-UWF-TV] Terry Gordy vs Jim Duggan
El McKell replied to Superstar Sleeze's topic in August 1986
The crowd here is fucking phenomenal, Jim Ross is phenomenal both wrestlers do a really good job, back and forth fast aggressive hoss battle, I'd strongly recommend this.- 1 reply

Wrestlers with largest timespan between 2 great matches
El McKell replied to Jetlag's topic in Pro Wrestling
That was his first one. -
yeah that was pretty fucking good. If we're gonna be talking about 2 on 1s i'm a fan of the one that starts at like 15:40 in this video https://youtu.be/Kxd7bITwVZw?t=941 Same finish as the one you linked though which might be a negative if you wanna see something new, but it's still really good. I expect I'll be bored of Wushu in like a week but for now I'm having a lotta fun watching it
-
I do feel that by having to do it live and not getting multiple takes to do it over if needed the fact that they won't edit the scene together from multiple takes brings this much closer to wrestling that a movie fight scene.
-
Choreographed fight sequences performed in front of a live crowd, I don't know much about Wushu but it seems to me that it in some ways is basically pro-wrestling but i'm sure others would disagree. See the link below and other than the fact that it has no real winner as such tell me why isn't this pro-wrestling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3LflYoeQyU

I've decided I'm gonna try to get involved in this but started with a bunch of grumpy posts this morning right as I woke up, so maybe it's a bad start. This is less likely to expose me to as much new stuff as GWE did so I'll probably not enjoy it as much but whatevs. Oh and Matt mentioned Chekov's gun, that can great in matches when done in a creative way but is shitty if its just the tries for a big move and it's avoided so then we know the 2nd time its tried that it's gonna work.

While I'm not on here all the time like I was when GWE was going on, it is the only message board i still visit so that's some real points in this place's favor. Good website, good people happy christmas

Isn't this a shoot? doesn't really count

Was talking to two lads in work about this today who both think Conor will win. Arguments like McGregor is younger & bigger. He's always won when people said he wouldn't, like with the Aldo knockout. It's fucking insane. Oh and the betting odds are preposterous, i've placed a substantial wager on Mayweather. Build hasn't been good compared to McGregor - Diaz or Mayweather - De La Hoya 10 years ago
-
Those three are great picks

I'm a huge fan of the cover of Wild Thing that Onita comes out to

Crowd was super hot, Masanobu Fuchi was fucking awesome as the fiery babyface. ****

[1983-04-07-AJPW] Genichiro Tenryu vs Kerry Von Erich
El McKell replied to JKWebb's topic in April 1983
The moment i heard the first bars of Eye of the Tiger and saw Kerry riding on a horse shirtless in slow motion i knew i was about to see something special. The actual match was not special, early Tenryu kinda sucks from what i've seen of him. ** -
These four episodes were quite a lot of fun, although I was dissapointed Jeff didn't give us the burial of Magnum - Tully that he promised us at the end of episode 3
