  1. Just looked it up and my god is that June 1st 1987 card bad on paper: Prime Time Wrestling - 6/29/87: Jim Powers & Paul Roma defeated the Shadows at 13:15 when Roma scored the pin with a flying bodypress Prime Time Wrestling - 6/29/87: Hillbilly Jim pinned Iron Mike Sharpe at 8:10 after making Sharpe hit himself with his own loaded forearm; after the bout, Sharpe began arguing with the referee until he was sent out of the ring by an atomic drop from Jim Danny Davis defeated George Steele via disqualification Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Paul Roma (sub. for unknown) Prime Time Wrestling - 6/29/87: Brad Rheingans pinned Terry Gibbs at 8:49 with a rolling cradle Prime Time Wrestling - 7/20/87: Demolition defeated B. Brian Blair & SD Jones (sub. for Jim Brunzell) at 9:44 when Smash pinned Jones after Ax hit a clothesline as Jones had a sleeper applied Hercules pinned Billy Jack Haynes in a chain match at 8:45 by tying Haynes' legs with the chain and putting his own feet on the ropes for leverage
  2. How and why can WWE remove this from YouTube? Surely the Chicago Film Archives own the copyright to all these matches.

    Your ballots

Using the spoiler tags because this thread looks so long and unwieldy.
  4. What's the other top five Cena match against someone who wasn't nominated? Maybe I'm forgetting something obvious.
  5. Seeing as how everyone from my prediction in the other thread is still alive I'm not changing it, I'm doubling down on my possibly dumb prediction that Kawada will be number one: 1. Toshiaki Kawada 2. Ric Flair 3. Kenta Kobashi 4. Stan Hansen 5. Mitsuharu Misawa 6. Genichiro Tenryu 7. Jumbo Tsuruta 8. Terry Funk 9. Jerry Lawler 10.Rey Mysterio Jr
  6. I was definitely thinking Steamboat
  7. That Savage shirt is pretty cool. I have no idea where the best place to buy vintage wrestling shirts is, sorry. My favourite wrestling shirt I own, out of two, is the CM Punk/Chris Hero shirt pictured below.
  8. Volk Han got two number one votes.
  9. I don't like the suggestion that everyone who didn't vote for Buddy Rose didn't watch any of him. I initally watched a handful of his matches as I did as a starting point for most of the candidates but I only really went deeper if I really enjoyed the initial smattering which in Rose's case I didn't really. He did kinda get more of a chance from me because when I was looking at other people I deliberately watched matches with Buddy Rose if possible because people we so hype about him. The point is I feel like I gave Buddy Rose a fair chance and I thought he just wasn't very good.
  10. Ok, makes sense. But not liking shoot-style makes me sad. At least I tried
  11. I didn't vote for either guy but I entertained the idea of ranking Han if this were top 200, I'm sure I would've ranked Han and would not have ranked Tamura. The short answer for why I considered Volk Han is that even though I don't like shoot style at all I felt he had other people's best matches that I saw: Tamura, Maeda, Kopylov, Kohsaka and possibly others that I can't recall. This led me to believe that even though Han's matches weren't that good he must be doing something right because they're consistently much more enjoyable than almost all the other stuff in the same style.
  12. No way in hell Kawada doesn't get any number one votes
  13. Regal and Arn seem like likely choices. Someone who I think it has a chance of being that I think would be interesting is El Dandy. I could see him beating Arn or Regal and I think it's probable that nobody ranked him number 1.
  14. Somehow Dylan went lower on John Cena than me and yet I felt like he was showering him with more praise than he deserves.
  15. This seems really smart and insightful but I feel like because I wasn't alive in the 80s I can't be sure that it's true.
  16. I don't think I could've participated with a 9 month viewing period to be honest. It just wouldn't have been enough time for me to get a look at enough of the nominees and I wouldn't want to hand in a ballot where half the people nominated were people I'd never watched
  17. Quebrada is a lionsault or an asai moonsault, quebradora is the backbreaker.
  18. If there's anything I learned from the 2012 Bound For Glory series it's that having 5-10 minute long Kurt Angle matches every couple of weeks is showing Kurt Angle at his worst. 5 minute attempts at epics complete with finisher kick outs against Magnus and Mr. Anderson are not 'enjoyable' That said overall I think Kurt Angle is an incredible performer and I had him at 11 on my list
  19. What does setup mean here? Does this include Ric Flair getting thrown off the top rope? Dive Trains? Setting up a table to put someone through it?
  20. People have talked about this a lot and it still seems weird to me. I voted for the 100 wrestlers I thought were the best which might match perfectly onto my list of 100 favourites depending on what you mean by favourite. Like I honestly don't know what we're talking about when we say list of favourites. Are your favourites who you are most into right now? Who you would most want to watch a random match from? Who, hypothetically, you would be most excited to see if you ignore being tired of someone because you've seen so much of them? Who is actually the most likable? Who you would go to bat for that nobody really appreciates like you do? I could probably come up with 100 more different questions for what favourite means that would sound dumb to most people. But I honestly don't get what we're talking about when we say favourites. I have no idea if I handed in a list of favourites or if handing in a list of favourites meant I'd have to include Bob Sapp because I irrationally get excited to see Bob Sapp matches and think his entrance to Madonna's 'Holiday' against The Great Muta was amazing.
  21. Are you saying you voted for this lad?
  22. In fairness loving Daisuke Sekimoto is basically Alan Counihan's gimmick.
  23. I know that I only had her in the 80s but seeing Lioness Asuka this low just isn't right, she's just so badass
  24. And this was my primary reason for dropping out of the project, that some of us 'weren't deemed worth enough' to contribute in this process. Who deemed some of us not worth enough? Certainly not Stephen who was organizing it and encouraging as many people as possible to vote, going as far to start the thread: 'Everyone should submit a ballot'. If there were one or two people who thought that some people hadn't seen enough to contribute I don't see why a couple of naysayers should stop you from contributing a ballot.
  25. Two guys I nearly voted for in Stan Lane and Prince Devitt coming in right behind Kenny Omega kinda bothers me, but the people have spoken and who am I to disagree. And honestly a big reason why I was considering Stan Lane is that he's my favourite member of the Midnight Express and ranking him and not Eaton or Condrey felt like a good way of making a statement of that. Which would've been a really lame reason to place someone in my top 100. jaedmc, I love Triple H but I think the award for best Great Khali match should go to Cesaro.
