  1. yeah probably. I think if a poll was held clash 6 would have the plurality. And i think Chi-Town is better than WrestleWar for what that's worth
  2. Everyone's already said 6/9/95, but it's my pick too. With Clash 6 a close second
  3. vs. Tomoaki Honma - 8/3/14 was about to post this match as one to watch but of course case beat me to it
  4. Is there ever a pin or submission in the 4th or 5th minute of round in world of sport match? Does this bother anyone else? Can the wrestlers not be trusted to keep track of time so 90% of the falls must come in first 90 seconds of a round?
  5. Who in lucha should have won MOTY/WOTY/Most Oustanding Wrestler but didn't? lots of people would say Atlantis vs. Ultimo Guerrero as the 2014 MOTY. You could argue for Mistico as wrestler of the year in 2005 or 2007. Maybe Hijo Del Santo in 1997. Negro Casas for most outstanding in 1992.
  6. "like I’m working baby face out of Mid-South in the ‘80s. I kept a blade hidden in my wrist tape" is a lyric in this Wonder Years song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3Z3IQqKbdQ

    NXT talk

c'mon this is ridiculous all grimmas is saying is that you're wrong to think they'd cover up Hero's body because the company has changed its position on stuff like that. I haven't got a dog in this fight, I'm not really on Grimmas' side i guess they probably wouldn't make him wear a singlet or whatever but i wouldn't be too surprised if they did or if they asked him to lose some of the weight.

He may not actually even be signed, although this tweet is a little vague https://twitter.com/thechrishero/status/808323313244237824
  9. Sorry to be a dick fact checking when i basically agree with what you're saying but that Ziggler ladder match at TLC wasn't until 2012. At TLC 2010 Cena had a pretty crappy chairs match with Wade Barrett.
  10. Volk Han & Seiji Sakaguchi
  11. the entire thread has been a fucking trainwreck
  12. So much this, reading reviews/discussion on matches before I see them affects the way I think about the match too much and I end up thinking about reviews while I'm watching which kills a lot of the enjoyment for me. But at the same time star ratings are a great help for knowing what is and isn't worth my time.
  13. I loved this so much. Bryan's angry yelling promo with Michael Cole was phenomenal not to mention all the shades of Terry Funk for no real reason in the last video great stuff.
  14. Of course he's serious. By comparing the two words and talking about them like they're on a similar level shows a real ignorance of how the n word affects/affected people, it's a pretty clear example of white privilege.
  15. This exceeded my expectations. Dory heeling it up was unique to see and i thought he did a good job of it. Inoki brought a pace to it that his matches often lack. Weird to have a two out of three falls match go an hour without a single fall though. ***3/4
  16. Pretty good show that got me even more hyped up to see a match i might never get to watch, cos I'm not spending €12.99 on the network. I dunno if this is the right thread to mention this but as a reminder to all of us of how small of a niche we are even among hardcore wrestling fans. The Last Battle of Atlanta did not feature in the 20 most watched stuff on the network this week. The only things from the hidden gems section that did was Rollins vs Kassius Ohno and Undertaker vs Unabomb. http://www.wwenetworknews.com/2016/09/09/9816-top-20-most-popular-shows-on-the-wwe-network-right-now/
  17. Really liked the brutal intense feeling that this match has with the heel vs heel thing. crazy first fall, intense second fall that ended with a forearm exchange followed by what was basically a fucking powerbomb, real shame about the last fall though.
  18. Just looked it up and my god is that June 1st 1987 card bad on paper: Prime Time Wrestling - 6/29/87: Jim Powers & Paul Roma defeated the Shadows at 13:15 when Roma scored the pin with a flying bodypress Prime Time Wrestling - 6/29/87: Hillbilly Jim pinned Iron Mike Sharpe at 8:10 after making Sharpe hit himself with his own loaded forearm; after the bout, Sharpe began arguing with the referee until he was sent out of the ring by an atomic drop from Jim Danny Davis defeated George Steele via disqualification Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Paul Roma (sub. for unknown) Prime Time Wrestling - 6/29/87: Brad Rheingans pinned Terry Gibbs at 8:49 with a rolling cradle Prime Time Wrestling - 7/20/87: Demolition defeated B. Brian Blair & SD Jones (sub. for Jim Brunzell) at 9:44 when Smash pinned Jones after Ax hit a clothesline as Jones had a sleeper applied Hercules pinned Billy Jack Haynes in a chain match at 8:45 by tying Haynes' legs with the chain and putting his own feet on the ropes for leverage
  19. How and why can WWE remove this from YouTube? Surely the Chicago Film Archives own the copyright to all these matches.

    Your ballots

Using the spoiler tags because this thread looks so long and unwieldy.
  21. What's the other top five Cena match against someone who wasn't nominated? Maybe I'm forgetting something obvious.
  22. Seeing as how everyone from my prediction in the other thread is still alive I'm not changing it, I'm doubling down on my possibly dumb prediction that Kawada will be number one: 1. Toshiaki Kawada 2. Ric Flair 3. Kenta Kobashi 4. Stan Hansen 5. Mitsuharu Misawa 6. Genichiro Tenryu 7. Jumbo Tsuruta 8. Terry Funk 9. Jerry Lawler 10.Rey Mysterio Jr
  23. I was definitely thinking Steamboat
  24. That Savage shirt is pretty cool. I have no idea where the best place to buy vintage wrestling shirts is, sorry. My favourite wrestling shirt I own, out of two, is the CM Punk/Chris Hero shirt pictured below.
  25. Volk Han got two number one votes.
