  1. They just dropped the rest of Thunder in 1999 (and the January 2000 episodes as well) to the Network, including the infamous Nash commentary episode.

    Holy Grails

Wonder if the Golga on that show is John Tenta. Tenta was still alive (and was still healthy) at the time so it's a possibility
  3. The only match these two ever had, and that's a shame as they work well together. Good psychology from both Shawn and RVD as RVD works on Shawn's back while Shawn works on RVD's leg (after a leg screw). However, now we have to bring up the elephant in the room and that's the ending. I would have been satisfied with Shawn winning here and Hunter's attack happening after the match, so why mess up a perfectly good match by having HHH take out RVD and then attacking Shawn? Otherwise, excellent match ruined by the ending.
  4. So the next thing coming to the Network is WWE Confidential: https://www.wwenetworknews.com/2019/02/14/exclusive-update-on-february-classic-content-documentary-series-to-make-official-wwe-network-debut/
  5. I find that WWF and NWA/WCW had a different "formula" to their squash matches. The WWF squashes were performed as exhibitions that were just showing off all the moves that they could do (and the times they let the jobbers get offense was showing how they could make comebacks or counters). NWA/WCW on the other hand had the matches go under the pretense that it's a "normal" match, which means oftentimes they would work it like a normal match, including lockups and restholds. While that isnt neccesarily a "bad" thing, it leads to some very slow squash matches. By the 90s, they switched up the formula a bit and did have some more traditional squash matches.
  6. On the subject of that era, I wonder if they'll induct Matt Hardy this year as well.
  7. Looking at some of these shows, you can definitely see the WWF was going for a much lighter direction after the darker 1991. I mean, outside of the Nailz/Bossman beatdown and Berzerker trying to stab Taker, the angles seem lighter. I'm not saying they went full New Generation, but there's a big difference between Taker locking Warrior in a coffin and Shango making Warrior puke.
  8. Speaking of Virgil, I seem to remember him having a decent match against Bret for the world title (Yes, VIRGIL got a title shot), is it included in this run?
  9. Considering they kept in his "Roots 2!" line from the Orton/Mr. T incident (as well as other questionable lines at other moments). I doubt that.
  10. Has anyone ever read Tito Santana's autobiography Tales from the Ring? The cheapest copy on amazon is 40 bucks, so it must be out of print, but if anyone has read it, is it any good?
  11. Just started re-reading Eddie Guerrero's autobiography. Not really "under-the-radar" but one that doesnt get talked about that much. Some good stuff in that book.
  12. And the worst thing about KOTR 95 is that it's entirely skippable (unless you're marathoning ppvs) since NOTHING of consequence (outside of Mabel/Diesel) happened at that show. Even the main event is just a throwaway tag match. And on that note, throw the Hog Wild/Road Wild ppvs in there as well. Some decent matches aside (ie, Benoit/Malenko, Jericho/Juvi), those were essentially glorified house shows with free admission and nothing important happening (im tempted to put BATB 95 in there as well).

    WWE Hidden Gems

He was also one of the Wrecking Crew (i think he was Rage) in WCW in 1993.

    WWE acquires WWC library

Yeah, now that I think about it, this will be so they can have stuff like Savage vs Ayala, Flair vs Jovica, etc.
  15. https://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=121569 Interesting. If they put the tv shows on the network, I wonder if they'll keep the original spanish commentary.
  16. So I wonder which one (Rey, Miz, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton) will be going to Raw? Orton looks like the most likely candidate, though I could see them sending Jeff or Rey just to give Ziggler something to do while Drew feuds with Braun.
  17. tnabound2009 has a lot of the same stuff, but sadly is limited only to late 80s/early 90s WWF and WCW footage (none of the territory stuff or even AWA stuff like RR had). Still, some interesting oddities like LOD vs Nasty Boys on Arsenio Hall. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGElnjKEmzPdAJaO03d8aJQ And has anyone mentioned popculturestu? Lots of 90s Memphis, including most of the complete Moondogs vs Lawler/Jarrett feud and the WWF invasion: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWLytROVOzzQoP3uZPJiDAQ
  18. Sting vs Meng from Great American Bash is worth a watch. Sting sells well for Meng and makes him look like a threat before making some great comebacks. Sting even wins with a jumping DDT (Never seen him win a match with that move outside of this one) Probably Meng's first good WCW match, and an underrated match for Sting.
  19. So we could be seeing a tiered pricing format in the future: https://lordsofpain.net/a-4-tier-option-for-the-wwe-network-is-being-considered/
  20. So the next content drop is apparently going to be 2012-14 episodes of Main Event. From what I've heard, there were really good matches on that show in it's first weeks.
  21. Some more: Tully Blanchard Owen Hart Harley Race Greg Valentine Ultimate Warrior X-Pac (under any gimmick name)
  22. Might as well add some more: Ray Traylor (under any gimmick) Undertaker Ted Dibiase Dustin Rhodes Kerry Von Erich Chris Jericho
  23. I decided this would be an interesting topic. I picked a handful of random wrestlers, what would you say their best year was, and why? Heres the list: Rick Rude Hulk Hogan Jake Roberts Stan Hansen Rey Mysterio Jr. Scott Steiner
  24. So has anyone picked up the History of Nitro book (simply titled "Nitro") by Guy Evans? I just bought it and while I havent gotten around to reading it yet, the reviews I saw were incredibly glowing and described just how much depth the book goes into.
