Am I the only one who thinks Ice Train was underrated? I'm going through a watch through of 1996 PPVs, and I just got to the Fall Brawl match he had with Scott Norton and I have to say, he was actually pretty good. He had some well-done power moves and moved around quite well (and a few shows before that we had that banger with him and Norton vs the Steiners). He's apparently working on a comeback, hopefully it goes well for him.

Pretty much a fluff piece, though he did say he "did some bad things" during his departure from the WWE. Legal issues probably prevent him from going into details about him and Debra.

The documentary was ok, but didnt delve into anything we didnt know already. Actually, I enjoyed the show afterwards where Foley and some other guy visited wrestling memorabilia collectors to acquire rare items more.

JCP/WCW also had the unfortunate trend of relying too much on masked jobbers. Sure, WWF did that too (The Conquistadors, Black Demon, Black Knight), but WCW kind of used it to excess, to the point where they even showed on on Clash of the Champions shows, pretty much helping to kill the credibility of masked wrestlers (it wasnt until the luchador explosion in the US, and later Kane, that masked guys were taken seriously again).

See, I think WM was the ultimate proof of this. Since it was the first show back with people, logic would indicate that you have all the faces go over so the show has a "feel good" vibe. Instead, the majority of matches (including all but one title match) were won by heels.

Since the 1960s, the WWF/E was traditionally a promotion where the faces dominated for the most part. Yet lately, it seems like the WWE has now become a promotion where the heels are dominant (just look at the title scene : https://www.wwe.com/superstars. Only Bianca is a full-on face. ). Why have they decided to go this route? It's not like it's going to get them any new fans, if anything, it may turn some of them off by constantly seeing faces destroyed by heels (the whole dominant heel champ thing that the NWA did was pretty much due to necessity with the whole traveling champ thing).

The GI Joe comic from Marvel (and the IDW continuation, but I havent gotten to that yet) is worth checking out too, surprisingly enough. It gets really good once it starts focusing on the various power plays and backstabbing in Cobra, in fact, I'd argue that the Cobras, not the joes, are really the main characters (though the Joes get plenty of moments to shine during the battle scenes).

According to a commercial they aired on Smackdown, Ozzy Osbourne is also going to be inducted. Pretty sure this must have been a request from Triple H ("If I cant get Lemmy, might as well get a guy who sang some songs he wrote").

Reportedly, Titus O'Neil will be getting the Warrior award this year.

Well, they didnt edit out Pillman's "You know what a mark is?" promo from Cyberslam 96, so they arent going completely crazy with censorship. Wonder how they'll handle Heat Wave 99.

I was thinking that since WWE is so chummy with FOX, they can take the stuff that NBC might think either has little to no demand (AWA, HIdden Gems), or that may be "problematic" (ECW, SMW) and put it on the Tubi (An ad-supported streaming service owned by FOX).

As a big heavy metal fan, that's having the same problem with aging fans, as most of the fanbase are now much older. Of course, most of that stuff is more easily accessible and doesnt require the "commitment" that it takes to have to sit through a 3 hour (or even 2 hour) wrestling show, not to mention that they do at least try to stay relevant at times by working with people who are relevant (a lot of people's first exposure to Ozzy Osbourne was his recent collaboration with Post Malone), though to be fair, that is what the WWE is doing with Bad Bunny, but Miz vs Bunny is going to be seen as a goofy novelty match, not something that's going to intrigue people.

WM6 no longer has the Piper/Bad News match.

Looks like Peacock isnt on my older model Roku (even though stuff like HBO Max is), guess I'll have to watch it online until I get a newer model.

Looks like I spoke too soon as it refers to content, they cut the Vince/Cena segment (THAT one) from Survivor Series 05.

Cant think there's any issue with content. They have stuff on Peacock (ie, Code Monkeys) that makes the Attitude era look tame in comparison.

Wrestlemanias 6, 23, 28, and 31 are missing from the Wrestlemania archive.

They do have a healthy number of Attitude-era PPVs.

Would it be too soon to induct Jon Huber? I mean, after his death, we got a lot of tweets from WWE guys showing how loved in the locker room he was, and for a time, the Wyatt family were pretty big. OTOH, I dont know if he really had a HOF-level career (yeah, I know about other guys like Koko or Hillbilly, but they were arguably more over than Huber). On a different note, I can see the Warrior award (if they give it out this year) being a "virtual" award for all the front-line workers, a safe induction and some good PR for the company.

Has Steiners vs Sting/Luger been mentioned yet? Excellent match, but the Nikita run-in kind of detracts from it.

I wonder if they'll edit some of the more "questionable" stuff out like blackface, confederate flags, violence toward women, violence toward animals, etc. That may have passed on something niche like the Network, but I dont know if something more "mainstream" would let it go. (though at least that means we wont have to see the DX Nation skit again)

You mean, of the United States? Because i've never heard of her having any political ambition. But anyway, back on topic, I wonder if the success Young Rock will make them to want more early 80s footage on there so fans can see the real Rocky Johnson in his prime (as well as some of the other wrestlers mentioned on there).

Kind of a timeline goof as the LJN toys didnt come out until 1985 (and they didnt look like the one we saw there, the LJNs were solid rubber). I wonder if they'll bring up when Johnson and Tony Atlas won the wwf tag titles, that was a pretty big moment (and I wonder who they'll get to play Atlas).
