  1. Bob Backlund ran for Congress as a Republican (makes me wonder how much of the Mr. Backlund character was based off of Backlund's real life views).
  2. You'd have to do one minute intervals, otherwise it would be over 100 minutes long.
  3. Ted Dibiase vs Curt Hennig could have been fun.
  4. For a topic idea, how about matches from around this timeframe (80s-mid 90s) that potentially could have happened but didnt?
  5. There was also a 1994 Summerslam Spectacular, but it was titled Sunday Night Slam. Here's the results: 8/1/94; Youngstown, OH; Beeghly Center 8/21/94 - featured an in-ring interview with WWF World Champion Bret Hart in which he discussed his steel cage title defense against his brother Owen at Summer Slam; the interview was conducted at a WWF Superstars taping: The Undertaker (w/ Ted Dibiase) defeated Sonny Rogers WWF IC Champion Diesel (w/ Shawn Michaels) pinned Typhoon in a non-title match at around 4:20 with a boot to the face and clothesline Bull Nakano defeated Heidi Lee Morgan (sub. for WWF Women's Champion Alundra Blayze) Razor Ramon defeated Todd Becker Bam Bam Bigelow & IRS defeated Bob Holly & 1-2-3 Kid Lex Luger pinned Crush with the running forearm after Crush became distracted by Ted Dibiase at ringside and here's the 1994 Survivor Series Showdown (also with the SNS name): 11/20/94 - featured Gorilla Monsoon & Stan Lane on commentary; included a video package highlighting Bob Backlund's loss of the WWF World Title in 1983, his title match against Bret Hart in July, the post-match attack on Hart, the many people Backlund had recently locked in the Crossface Chicken Wing, and the alteraction last week on Raw between Backlund and Hart; featured a Survivor Series event center with comments from Chuck Norris regarding his officiating duties in the Undertaker / Yokozuna casket match: The Smoking Gunns defeated the Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) at around the 14-minute mark when Billy pinned Tom Prichard with a crucifix into a sunset flip (Mega Matches 95) (11/8/94; Bushkill, PA) Davey Boy Smith defeated Owen Hart via disqualification at around the 11-minute mark when Bob Backlund attacked Smith and locked him in the Crossface Chicken Wing after Owen faked a leg injury; moments later, WWF World Champion Bret Hart knocked Owen out of the ring, ripped off Backlund's shirt, and attempted to lock him in the Sharpshooter until Owen pulled Backlund out to the floor (11/8/94; Bushkill, PA) Yokozuna (w/ Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette) pinned John Chrystal at 1:06 with a uranage (11/7/94; Bushkill, PA)
  6. 4 pages and no mention of Owen/123 Kid from KOTR 94?
  7. I get the feeling the show was quietly cancelled. Either someone got upset over the content or (more likely) it wasnt recieving enough views.
  8. Thinking of this, I cant remember many "best buddies" of Hogan in WCW (pre-NWO of course) aside from Savage and Dave Sullivan. Hogan and Sting had kind of an alliance, but it was never that concrete, and i cant think of any other faces he teamed with. Then came the NWO, but that was a different thing altogether.
  9. Thanks for answering my question!
  10. They're currently uploading Smackdown 2005. Also, the Bischoff documentary is up.
  11. How about an episode discussing the "darker and edgier" direction WWF was heading in in 1991 (The Iraqi Slaughter angle, Taker trying to kill Warrior, Everything involving Jake Roberts, etc)? A Prime Time wrestling retrospective could also be a good idea for an episode (heck, you even use the prime time theme as the theme of your show).
  12. On a side note, is the "continue watching" feature not working for anyone else? I called up tech support and they said that it's an issue happening with all users.
  13. They just uploaded the most recent Brock documentary as well as the Lawler doc.
  14. Speaking of those coliseum "profile" tapes, im surprised they never made one for Tito Santana. Would have been better than that awful George Steele video (where he LOST the majority of matches featured on that tape).
  15. Speaking of jobbers teaming with big names, i came upon a 1990 match where Tito Santana teaming with Jim Brunzell against Demolition. Not as bad, but there's also a 1989 handicap match with Tito and Jim Powers against Andre the Giant.
  16. Actually, I think they were teasing a Garvin/Rick Martel feud in late summer 1990, i know it was talked about in WWF Magazine, but it only led to one match on All-American where Martel won. I believe the last Garvin TV match was against Sgt. Slaughter in September or October. Also, i cant wait for next week's discussion on Coliseum video.
  17. Actually, Austin's autobiography does end with a discussion about what changes he'd make to the WWE if he was in charge.
  18. They briefly touched on this, but the way interviews changed should also be noted. As the 80s went on, the faces became more and more superheroic in their promos (aside from Jake Roberts, who kept his subtle interview style) while the heels became more and more cartoonishly heel. Granted, this arguably started with Savage and Piper (both of whom had an over the top style as both heels and faces), but compare some of Hogan's early promos from 84 or 85 to his infamous WM4 interview about him destroying trump plaza and the hulkamaniacs jumping onto his back, or Jimmy Hart going from flashy when he first came in into a screaming maniac by the end of the 80s/early 90s. Also, I dont have twitter, but i do have a question for the mailbag (about Lord Alfred Hayes inexplicably being a heel broadcaster in 93-4), is there a way to send a question without twitter?
  19. I'm probably the only one who'd want it, but a sequel to HBK's book (not the religious one he put out a few years ago) would be interesting to read. The first book ends with the Rockers reunion, but the sequel could go into the God feud (i'd want to see what shawn's real feelings on it were), the dx reunion, flair's retirement match, the jericho feud, and the taker feud and subsequent retirement.
  20. This is a really interesting show, lots of neat tidbits.
  21. In all seriousness, it's being titled "Crossface".
  22. This has the potential to be the worst "bio-pic" since Wired.
  23. I always liked to think of wrestling as a live-action comic book (maybe not as relevant now due to the numerous live-action superhero movies, but anyway,,) and the Survivor Series concept fit that perfectly, it was the equivalent of all those company-wide crossover events ,with a group of heroes (faces) uniting to take on a group of enemies (heels). It was even better when there were multiple managers, which added to the threat that the faces were taking on.
  24. I remember the night after Bash at the Beach 96, the heels and faces all had something to say about the Hogan heel turn. It showed how it affected all the wrestlers in the company.
  25. Figured this is as good a place to ask as any. On The Best of the WWF Vol. 16 there's a match with Fuji vs some unknown wrestler from Saudi Arabia. They never mention who it is, and the commentary is in Arabic. I havent been able to find any info on this match or Fuji's opponent at all. Im thinking its from the early 80s (near the end of Fuji's run as a full-time wrestler) but thats all i can come up with.
