Bad News in Dibiase's corner! He couldn't have better back up but Dibiase should be careful. You just never know what Bad News is going to do. Dibiase vs. Nikita will be very interesting. DR. Death and Manny lose to the Road Warriors but that didn't seem to stop their momentum as they're ready for Hennig and Orndorff. Nice set up with Bassarab and MX-1. With Flair, Hennig and Orndorff, the Heenan Family is stronger than ever. Flair gets his long awaited title match with Bret but finds out Stu will be the referee. How will Flair deal with this? McCord and Dynamite will face off in a promised clean match. Should be a dandy. Great brawl to end the show between Slaughter and Anvil. That 6 man street fight will be one heck of a fight!
-
Damn, I cant wait for the Dibiase/Muraco-Patera/Blackwell cage match! Smart move on Reed's part to bring in the Ebony Express as back up. Great segment with Miss Doll. Aligning her with Saito and company is brilliant. Ole Anderson makes ominous comments towards Martel. Ole was the master of calm threats. Harley Race returns! Looking forward to seeing what he does in this hard hitting territory. Arn and Martel put on a 15 minute classic. Looks like Martel has an ally in Thornton. GCW is really coming on strong!

Saturday Night Special gives the fans a big night of action on FREE TV! Super Ninja kicks things off as he retains against Nelson Royal. Cooley and Casey win the 4 corners to get a shot at the titles. Later we find out they will be facing new champs Fuller and Golden. Man, Fuller and Golden took it to the Rat Patrol. Lars retains with a DQ win over OMG. Tensions are boiling between OMG and Akbar. LOL, Landel delivers another prime promo, this time on Kerry Von Erich. Hayes cuts him off and is ready to fight. Landel (thanks to brass knuckles) walks away with the title again. Awesome main event as Gordy pins AWA champ Dibiase. Gordy's celebration is short lived as everybody does a number on him inside the cage! They got the best of Gordy tonight but watch out when he comes back!

I agree with Edger, big show of respect by Harley Race as he endorses the new champ Tommy Rich. Already Rich has a challenger in Hustler Rip Rogers. This should be fun. Nice surprise as Light heavyweight champ Brad Armstrong shows up. Nice angle here as him and Michaels have an impromptu match. Masked Superstar ruins it but class act Armstrong gives Michaels a shot next week. Very well done. The Marvelous Masked Manager and his stable of masked men are becoming one of my favorite factions in the AWA. YES! An RnR-Miller/Oliver feud has started! Great show that set up a lot of good storylines. Fun house show in MN that really showcased your stacked tag team roster!

Cocoa Samoa vs. Hercules Ayala This was one of the most brutal matches ever to hit Nashville. At the 15 minute mark, both men were busted open and bleeding bad. Both men's taped fists were red. Cocoa had things going his way. He slammed Ayala, then went to the top rope and attempted a diving headbutt but Ayala moved at the last second. Cocoa was knocked out. Gene, the promos are top notch! Everybody is really delivering on the mic. The DR.D/Stud Stable feud is going to be explosive! Good to see Steve O found a good home. Just by their promos, I cant wait for Landel/Hayes. Grappler 2 is getting a good push and rightfully so. Bill Watts makes the big Supercard announcement! A Continental /WCCW will be EPIC! LOL, loved the interaction between Madril and Watts. Super Black Ninja is really hitting his stride. Timbs cuts a good promo but comes up short in his TV title match with Lars. Lars and OMG end the show with a brawl. Cant wait for the Saturday Night Special card. That 6 man cage match will be awesome.
-
The surprises keep coming! Cyclone wins the battle royal to get a title shot. Lars continues his roll with a big win over the Hustler. Fun battle of the masked men that goes to a double c.o. Gordy and Herc would of been a fun hard hitting match to watch live. Rich and Armstrong get in a good title defense over Kabuki and Kendo. LOL, Street distracts Madril allowing Brad to get the quick pin. The big moment of the night goes to Dr. D! He's the Blue Cyclone! Chaos ends the night! Dr. D wants his money!

TNT releases Steve O. TNT picks up Tony Parisi

Prichard is piling up wins. Beefcake is one sought after wrestler. His time with Garvin paid off as he now joins up with David and Haystacks. This could be a dangerous faction to deal with. Amazing what going back to your roots can do as the Devil's Duo picks up another win. Ah yes, there's the Andersons we all know. Like Gene said, Martel needs a friend and fast! I wonder who's the woman who attacked Reed. Whoever it is, she's got guts! Blackwell and Patera play the odds game with Muraco until Brett Sawyer runs in to even things up. Fun card here.
-
What a night! Oliver and Miller are quietly racking up wins, this time over the Poffo's. Stevens puts the hurt on Hall. I'm liking this rookie vs. veteran feud. Super Destroyers win the Great Lakes tag titles! Great choice. WOW! RnR answer the challenge and defeat the Fantastics in a dream match to win the National tag titles. Tommy Rich does it! He overcomes the odds and defeats Race in a classic. Rich deserves a good run as champ. Props to you on a great build up. Main Event for the AWA World Title ends in chaos as Masked Superstar wins by C.O. thanks to the Super Destroyers and Carsen. Man, Superstar did a number on Dibiase. Cant wait for the rematch. Rich, Race, RnR, Destroyers, Bullet, Masked Superstar, Great Lakes has some serious momentum going!
-
Another stellar show! Midnights will defend against the Islanders...YES! BTW, Cornette's promo was gold. Oh man! WCCW teaming up with Continental for the Battle of New Orleans will be off the charts! Looking forward to the Great Texas Roundup. Who will emerge as champ? WOW! Jumping Joe and Powers get on the map with a big win over the Moondogs. Ice Man turns! The heat the Movement is getting is unreal. LOL, Jimmy Jam explains the ins and outs like only JImmy Jam can. Windham retains in a brutal match with Garvin. Great TV match here. Awesome brawl between Studd and Brody! Kevin and Nick get into it until Baron comes on the scene and shows Kevin the damage a claw can do. Great way to debut Baron! All this and Ricky Steamboat is coming! The action in WCCW never ends.

TNT Wrestling TV @ The Roanne Fieldhouse, Memphis TN 8-2-84 Lance Russell: Hello again wrestling fans and welcome to TNT Wrestling here on the USA Network. Boy do we have a big show lined up. Jerry Lawler teams with the Dream Machine and Bill Dundee to take on TNT champ Terry Funk and 2 mystery partners. If any of Funk's opponents pin him, then they will become the TNT champ. A rather bold move by Terry Funk if you ask me. A lot of teams are getting ready for the upcoming tournament to crown the first ever TNT tag team champions. We have 2 big tag matches as Polynesian Power takes on Johnny Valiant's Blonde Bombers. Also the Real Deal will face Mr. Wrestling 2 and 3. Ok let's get to the ring as DJ Peterson is set to make his TNT debut. DJ Peterson vs. Neil White DJ works over White with power moves then hits a vertical suplex. DJ hops on the middle ropes. White staggers up and DJ nails him with a flying shoulder tackle for the pin! The fans give a nice pop as DJ heads to the podium. Lance: Congratulations on your win DJ and welcome to TNT wrestling. I'm sure you have some goals in mind. DJ: Thank you Lance and yes I do. You know I just came from World Class and I was fortunate enough to have tasted some gold there. Once you get a taste of that, well, you just want more. I'm here in TNT to work my way up and get some more gold. Commercial Break Lance: Ok, I'm here with the commissioner of TNT, Larry the Axe Hennig who has some announcements to make. Larry: Thank you Lance. Ok just a reminder, tomorrow night in Nashville, Cocoa Samoa and Hercules Ayala will battle it out for the Brass Knuckles title. Either one of those men will make quite the brass knuckles champ. On August 17th in Evansville Indiana, 8 teams will go at it in a one night tournament to crown TNT tag champions. And next week at the Louisville Convention center, the tournament to determine the number one contender for the TNT title will take place. I will announce the 8 participants very soon. Should be an action packed couple of weeks in TNT. 'Polish Power' Ivan Putski w/Ratamyus vs. Gary Williams Putski is a man possessed as he just demolishes Williams. Putski swings Williams to the ropes and hits him with the Polish Hammer for the pin! Ratamyus enters the ring (wearing his hooded robe) and stares into the eyes of Putski. Putski picks up Williams and hurls him out of the ring. Putski goes to the outside and stands Williams up, then puts him back down with another Polish Hammer! Putski then drops down and starts choking Williams. Ratamyus taps Putski on the shoulder. Putski gets up and Ratamyus leads him to the back. Commercial Break TV Champ 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol vs. Chance Evans Idol shows off his newly won TV title as he smiles and raises it to the cheering fans. Idol works over Evans then swings him to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Idol hoists Evans up and hits a Shin Breaker. Idol clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock to get the submission victory. The fans cheer as Idol heads to the podium. Lance: Austin Idol, it must feel pretty good to have that Television title. Hey, what do you think about the former champ Tully Blanchard quitting last week? Idol: You know, Tully called my win a fluke. Tully, it was no fluke baby. The fact of the matter is you made a terrible mistake by underestimating the Universal Heartthrob and I took advantage of your stupidity. I'm not shedding a tear for Tully. Now is my time to shine. I'm ready for all challengers and I'm also ready for my name to be included in the number one contender's tournament cuz like I said last week, I'm the one with the gold Jack! Idol flexes, holds up the TV title and winks at the camera. Commercial Break Polynesian Power vs. The Blonde Bombers w/Johnny Valiant Both teams will be in the upcoming TNT tag title tournament. Pretty fun TV match. Tio and Tapu control early with body slams, chops and solid double teaming. Blondes come back, as Valiant trips Tio and Tio staggers into a snap suplex by Regal. Regal body slams Tio and tags in Rogers, who comes off the middle ropes with a knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Rogers hits a backbreaker and follows with a double boot stomp then tags in Regal. They hit a double vertical suplex. Regal follows with a standing leg drop 1..2..Tapu makes the save. Rogers runs in and Tapu punches him to the corner. Meanwhile Regal swings Tio to the ropes and goes for a back drop but Tio kicks him. Tapu knocks Rogers through the ropes. Valiant runs over to help Rogers. Polynesian Power grab Regal, press him up and drop him with a free fall slam. Tio hits a body splash 1..2..3! Huge pop! Winners- Polynesian Power Commercial Break Footage from last week is shown as George the Animal Steele attacks Mike Shaw and busts him open by slamming his head into the steel post. Pre recorded comments Shaw: (bandage on forehead) Hey Steele! I'm not going to be one of your victims. Yea, you busted me up pretty good but it's going to take a lot more than that to take Klondike Mike down. I'm coming for you Steele! AWA Southern Tag Champs, the Fabulous Ones are at the podium. Lance shows footage from last week as the Fabs were attacked by the Cuban Assassins. Fabs cut a passionate promo and say many teams have tried to take them out and they've all failed! They will be more than happy to put the titles on the line against them and they will be even happier to put a beating on them! Fabs exit and Bruiser Bob Sweetan enters. Sweetan: I'm back in TNT for one reason and one reason only. To win gold! I want in that tournament and I'm going to win it! Boos as Gene Anderson and Jumbo Tsuruta enter. Gene: Hold on a second Bruiser. That's mighty bold talk. Jumbo Tsuruta will be in the tournament and you can bet he's the one who's going to win it. You were good in your day but those days are long gone. I realized my best days are done hence why I got my manager's license. Maybe it's time for you to do the same before you get hurt. Jumbo gives Sweetan a cold hard stare before exiting. Commercial Break Real Deal (McGhee/Vaughn) vs. Mr. Wrestling 2/3 Once again, 2 teams involved in the upcoming TNT tag title tournament. Solid back and forth match up. Real Deal uses their speed and quickness as Mr. Wrestling 2/3 use their technical skills mixed in with some rule breaking. Tempers flare a couple times as pier six brawls break out. The tide turns a couple more times as neither team can put the other away. 10 minutes isn't enough time as the bell rings, signaling a draw. Both teams stare at each other. Mr. Wrestling 2/3 point and warn the Real Deal that this isn't over. Official Ruling- Time Limit Draw Commercial Break Gene Anderson is back out. Lance asks him what's on his mind. Gene: As I mentioned earlier, I got my manager's license because why not use my wisdom to guide the right wrestlers to championships. Jumbo Tsuruta will be wearing gold. As everybody knows, nobody was a better tag team wrestler than myself. What I want is a tag team to manage. And I found one. Please welcome out the future TNT tag team champions, the Enforcers! Richard Charland and Bob DellaSerra walk out sporting matching silver jackets. Fans boo as they arrogantly smile. Gene: With my guidance, the Enforcers are going to run over all the so called competition here. Two men who better be on high alert are Denny Brown and Gino Brito. Boys, the Enforcers are coming and you better have eyes in the backs of your heads. Lance: Ok, Charland and DellaSerra are now the Enforcers led by Gene Anderson. That could be a very dangerous group. Back to the ring. Kansas Jayhawks vs. The Smith Brothers Jayhawks make quick work as they hit a double clothesline for the win! Jayhawks cut a promo and say they're coming to Indiana to win the TNT tag titles and they hope they meet the Continental Cowboys there. Dutch cracks his whip as Jaggers grips his bullrope. Commercial Break Cocoa Samoa vs. Todd Rooney Cocoa is all over Rooney. He swings him to the ropes and chops him down. Cocoa swings off the ropes and crashes down with a diving headbutt for the pin! Cocoa is celebrating with the fans when WHAM! He's nailed from behind by Hercules Ayala with a taped fist punch! Ayala puts his knee on Cocoa's chest, grabs his hair and punches away with taped fist punches. Prelim wrestlers hit the ring. Ayala rolls out of the ring and raises his taped fist to the booing crowd. These two will meet for the Brass Knuckles title tomorrow night in Nashville! Commercial Break George Wells vs. Vic Dutro Wells comes out with a new look. He's sporting a bald head and wearing football pants. Wells uses a variety of power moves to work over Dutro. Wells swings Dutro to the ropes and puts him down with a Sphere to get the dominating win! Wells heads to the podium. Lance: George, I have to say I'm impressed with the new look and what you did in the ring. What's going on? Wells: Lance, I have to say, I listened to the wrong people and made some mistakes. Losing that cage match forced me to see the light. It was time for George Wells to go back to his roots and find redemption. There's a stir as Carl Fergie comes out. Carl: George, I couldn't agree more. It's time we moved on and did things the right way. Good luck to you and brother if you ever need anything, I'm here for you. Fergie extends his hand. George smiles and shakes it. Fergie pulls him in and clotheslines him down! Lance: Whoa! What the h.... Fergie: Shut up! He was making me sick to my stomach! What a suck up sell out! George Wells is weak! Mr. Cool, Carl Fergie has been reborn and rejuvenated! Fergie gives Wells a few stomps before leaving. Commercial Break TV Main Event If someone pins Terry Funk, they will win the TNT title. Jerry 'The King' Lawler/Superstar Bill Dundee/Dream Machine vs. TNT Champ Terry Funk and ?? The fans are on their feet cheering as Lawler, Dundee and Dream Machine are in the ring waiting. Mega boos as Terry Funk walks out with the TNT strap on his shoulder. Funk smiles and turns to the back. WOW! Out comes Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch! They hit the ring and a pier six brawl starts! The Ref finally gets control. Murdoch and Adonis put the boots to Lawler and Dundee. The Ref has no choice but to ring the bell and disqualify Funk, Adonis and Murdoch. Winners by DQ- Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee and Dream Machine Funk quietly rolls out of the ring. He grabs his TNT title and smiles as Adonis and Murdoch continue to stomp away on Lawler and Dundee. Funk goes to the podium. Funk: I told everybody that this title stays with me by any means necessary. I'm the smartest champion in the entire AWA! I'm just going to let these idiots beat the hell out of each other. Nobody will beat me. Nobody!

Good job with the promos leading up to the big show. Thunderbolt gives Tommy his word that he has his back. Fantastics have guts putting out an open challenge. Solid promo from the Marvelous Masked Manager as he says his Super Destroyers can beat any team. A focused Ray Stevens is a dangerous Ray Stevens. Scott Hall better be ready. Super Destroyers look strong winning the battle royal. I'm hoping for a showdown with the Road Warriors down the line. Good grief, that Koloff/Bruiser Russian Chain match must of been brutal! Fans got their money's worth on that one.
-
Dibiase is a very smart man, making sure he has a strong ally like Muraco before going into battle with Blackwell and Patera. Like the boiling build up between Reed and Saito. Reed now has some strong friends for back up. LOL, David remains TV champ but is taking a lot of pins. Great job portraying him as the cowardly heel. It's going to be a big moment when somebody finally gets the title off him. Martel is rolling and will be a big star here. Andersons turn back the strong challenge of Thornton and Bassarab. Happy that the Devil's Duo has returned. Haystacks gets the win over Kokina but who attacked Kokina??? Cant wait for that Dibiase/Muraco-Blackwell/Patera cage match!
-
The situation between Gino and Savage is getting crazy! Cant wait for their one on one match. Brisco says he's a better wrestler than Backlund but Backlund proves him wrong. Gilbert comes in and wins the TV title but the reign is short lived as Brown takes him down but now Manny gets a shot. Very interesting. Very cool seeing Piper show up. Road Warriors continue to be the most dominant team in the AWA! Who was that masked man running in on Dusty??? Always something happening in Florida.
-
Things in Rocky Mountain are boiling! Ernie Ladd just might end up taking over but his army have a fight coming with the likes of Atlas and Mulligan. Love the debut of Atlas. Great feud going between Adams/Mike and Bass/Embry. Sonny King is back in the ring but he might of bitten off more than he can chew with Sweet Brown Sugar. Wahoo proves he's still at the top of his game as he comes back from the Heart Punch and vows to take out Ladd. This has become a fun territory.
-
Oh Man! Hulk Hogan has arrived in Pacific! This is defiantly a game changer! Awesome TV debut and follows that up with a big win over Bundy. Man this is HUGE! Rose has some very threatening words for Piper but Piper doesn't let that happen in the 6 man match. Looks like the Embassy has a new member. LOL, only Chicky could get a win like that over Cobra. Texas Red and Spoiler show that they're for real as they retain against the Harts. Liking the Vachons/Assassins brutal feud. Man the babyface side is looking stacked with Hogan, Piper and Billy Jack. Rose is going to have his hands full.
-
WOW! Shawn Michaels win the tournament! This pushes the youngster to a new level. The celebration is short lived as the Masked Superstar destroys Michaels and the car! The Masked Superstar is going to really elevate Michaels. Loved the tournament. Lots of exciting matches that gave the fans more than their money's worth. Buzz finishes his feud with his brother and sends him packing. Great ending to a great family feud. Loving Jimmy Hart oh I mean the Marvelous Masked Manager LOL. Cant wait for that huge Race/Rich rematch. You did a great job making this a huge deal.
-
Oh man Continental is on FIRE! Ron Fuller was behind the bounty! WOW! I was shocked but it makes total sense. Ron goes a step further and reforms the Stud Stable! Awesome angle all the way around. They end the show by putting a horrific beating on Shultz. Shultz is right, he doesn't have friends but now Fuller has a ton of enemies. You have really made Landel a star. Rat Patrol get some vengeance by taking the straps but this war is far from over. Damn, Madril, Herc, Bundy, Rich, Landel, Nightmares, Rat Patrol, Fuller, Golden, Shultz, Street...everybody is feuding! Love the chaos going on. Gordy continues his reign with a win over Grappler 2. Gordy has a long list of challengers to work with. Soul Patrol has some new enemies with Kendo and Kabuki. LOL, love that DQ finish with the Blondes pulling out the trick on Cooley and Casey. OMG gets a big win over Lars. Looks like the TV title will be on the line next time. Every week you raise the bar. Tremendous work!
-
I agree, the Russians might have the odds in their favor but messing with Allen before Nikita's world tile match might be bad news for Nikita. Manny and Dr. Death almost pull it off! Looking forward to the Stampede tag tournament. With your stacked tag roster, this will be damn good. Flair and Heenan are confident and say the title will be Flair's. Hart disagrees and gives Flair a good slap. Like the build of McCord as he gets in line for a light heavyweight title shot. Sheepherders hang tough with Sheik's men but the numbers game eventually comes into play until Anvil runs out to even things up! Great show as lots of storylines are advancing.
-
My guys Oliver and Miller open the show with a win. Nice start. That Crusher/Bruiser-Super Destroyers match was a brawl! Rude gets a solid win over Brett Sawyer. Fantastics continue to roll as tag champs. Ok, that main event was well worth the price of admission. What a match! Watching Harley and Bullet go 60 minutes would of been awesome.
-
Nice spot shows. Liked the battle of the Fabulous match as the Freebirds take down the Blondes. Such a fun match. Lars Anderson keeps his momentum going as he retains against Don Bass. Love the Soul Patrol/Nightmares feud. They're so evenly matched and that draw proves it. Grappler 2 earns a title shot defeating Olympia. I know that 6 man tag had the fans rock'n! Rich gets back in title contention with that pin on Landel. Tension heats up between Gordy and OMG as Fuji brings out the salt. Fuller and Golden show off their toughness with a brutal cage win over Kabuki and Kendo.
-
Just like tonight, cards at the Omni always delivered. Will Vines and Sword bring back the Devil's Duo name? Prichard arrives and gets a strong win. Rock n Roll Buck wins the gauntlet and now gets a shot at Brad's title. Kokina and Haystacks is boiling and ready to explode! Patera and Blackwell are causing havoc for Muraco and Norvell. Norvell even does the stretcher job! Ole issues the open challenge and none other than RICK MARTEL accepts! What a way to debut with a win over Ole. Reed looks great tonight as he defeats Arn then goes to work on Hiro and Duk. All is good until Saito shows up! Oh man a Reed/Saito match is going to be hard hitting and brutal! Great show! I love the direction you're going.
-
Good grief what a show! You did something I've always wanted to do or see in fantasy, you brought the Jive Tones together! AWESOME! I always loved the team of Conway and Whatley. Like Gene said, with the Movement gimmick they'll be taken more seriously. Garvin gets the shot at Windham by winning a fun battle royal. Loved the set up with Grappler and Kerry. Glamour Boys are having a great time until the Highwaymen ruin it with a severe beatdown. Classic contrast feud here. The Iceman has come home! Damn, Grappler put the hurt on Kerry! This feud will be bloody. Tatum is in and Chick is out LOL according to Garvin. "Oh yea forgot to tell you, we don't need you anymore" HAHAHA, that cracked me up. Oh man Bruiser Brody arrives and immediately slams Studd! Bock/Studd/Kevin and Brody! Cant wait for that tag match! Non stop action tonight!
-
Solid card here. LOL, love the Marvelous Masked Manager and his stable of masked men. Bullet comes to town and wins a battle royal. Now his sights are set on the Masked Superstar. Watch out! Ray Stevens has gone heel! Even though they came up short, love that team of Oliver and Miller. Harley once again retains.
