    USWA

Hey everybody, work got crazy this week so my Summer Blast card will be up on Friday. Sorry about the delay.
  2. HBO TV champ Rocky Johnson comes to town with fire and ends up taking care of Jack Brisco on his way out. Abdullah wins the TV title from Khruschev! I bet that was a hard hitting brawl. Oh man looks like seeds are planted for a Savage/Gino match! YES! Talk about a dream feud. Valentine makes an appearance by slamming the cage door in Brisco's face but Brisco gets some payback as he costs Valentine his match with Kernodle. Dory Funk gets a big win over King Tonga. I like how you continue to use talent from all over the AWA. Keeps things interesting. Never a dull moment in Florida.
  3. String of baby face wins start the show. Hercules wins the elimination match with a bit of help from Madril. Street looked strong as well. I'm so loving this storyline! Brad retains against Super Black Ninja. Fun 6 man tag as Olympia, Fuller and Golden take down Devastation Inc. Good grief! What a way to end the show! Shultz challenges Bullet to a loser leaves town cage match! It doesn't stop there as Shultz blasts Landel with the chair and issues a stern warning. Cant wait for next week!
  4. I liked the tag tournament. The Andersons looked strong and win it! Nice seeing Thornton and Bassarab make it to the finals. I think this team is clicking. Kokina and Muraco get nice wins. Oh man! Haystacks might of pissed off the wrong guy! He beats down Hansen and costs him the TV title! Cant wait for that explosive match up. Lot's of interesting things happening in Georgia. Keep up the great work.
  5. Great idea for the Mountain Men. Sugar defeats Sweetan. Will this end the rivalry? Oh man, Ciclon took a massive bump as Strongbow wins the match. LOL, a bear hug match. Love the long drawn out description. Bass and Embry win a tough one over the Samoans. I think Mulligan will order a rematch. Dibiase retains in a classic over Wahoo. Good showcase here for Rocky Mountain Wrestling.
  6. Studd wins the TV title! Damn, him and Bock are ruling the AWA! Midnight Express retain against the Islanders and Glamour Boys. Both those teams deserved the shots. Nice program going between Garvin, Chick and Beefcake against the Windham, Houston and Adias. I love mid card feuds. Moondogs and Youngbloods have a fun brawl. Your tag team division is absolutely stacked! Bock and Kevin going to a 60 minute draw is epic!
  7. Couldn't wait for this card and brother you didn't disappoint! LOL, Street was all over tonight. The kick in the balls to Herc and him skipping away was great. Later, Street gets over on both Armstrong and Madril. Street is going to have a few people after him. Soul Patrol win a battle over the Bass Brothers. Cooley and Casey are rising the tag ranks. I like this feud going between the Nightmares and Fuller/Golden. I see some gimmick matches coming. WOW! Gordy powerslams OMG for the decisive win! The mist gives Kabuki and Kendo the win over the red hot Freebirds. Shultz makes it clear he's a one man army as he warns Madril and the Nightmares to stay clear of the bounty. Landel wins the Continental title! The build to the title was great. Olympia stays strong and will be looking for revenge on Herc. Cant wait for Landel's next TV promo.
  8. Show opens with absolute chaos!!! Sawyers, Duggan and Brody destroy the studio. This will defiantly get eyes on Great Lakes. Verne comes out to ref the match and Duggan wins it with his 2x4. These feuds are far from over. New champ Harley Race comes out and says he's ready for all comers. 1984 Chevy Camaro... Sweet! Cant wait to see if Michaels can go 10 minutes with Masked Superstar and make it to the tournament. Fun main event as Koloff wins the elimination match. Koloff might have earned himself a title shot. Great Lakes is off and running! Great job!
  9. Man, all the promos were GOLD tonight! Shultz gives another classic rant that had me rolling. Then I couldn't stop laughing when Landel busted out the Special Olympia line. Those heels know how to do it. Loved the first Fiesta Garden. Herc plays this role perfectly and Alvin oh I mean Alberto stirs things up with Street and Brad. Super Black Ninja poses a threat to Brad and the Light Hvy title. Cooley and Casey are proving to be a solid team. The final segment was total bonkers and I loved every minute of it! Everybody gets in the ring and has a massive brawl! This is how you bring the fans to the arenas. Awesome job! Damn! I cant wait for that Dothan card!
  10. That Chicago card is stacked!

TNT Wrestling TV @ The Roanne Fieldhouse, Memphis TN 7-13-84 Footage is shown from the Omni as Ted Dibiase defeats Hulk Hogan for the AWA World Title! Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of TNT Wrestling here on the USA Network. Major news in the AWA as Ted Dibiase is the new world champion. He defeated Hulk Hogan and there sure was some controversy but the end result is Ted Dibiase is the world champ. Let's hear some pre recorded comments from the new champ as he will now defend that title at Summer Blast against Jumbo Tsuruta! Dibiase: (smiling with the strap on his shoulder) Get ready Memphis because the champ is coming to town! Now that I have to fulfill Hogan's previous bookings, it looks like Summer Blast is the next destination. Poor Jumbo Tsuruta. He thought he was going to be in a brawl but now he has to face a champ that can do it all. There's nothing I cant do in the ring and that's exactly why I'm holding this title! After Summer Blast, Ted Dibiase will be the talk of TNT! Lance: There you have it from the new world champ. We'll be hearing from Stasiak and Tsuruta a bit later. Lot's of exciting news going on in TNT. Next week, changes are coming to TNT. Due to the expansion of territories in the AWA, the Roanne Fieldhouse will now be the permanent home for our weekly TV programs. I understand Steve Stack has taken a behind the scenes position and I know he's excited about that. Thank you Steve for all your contributions on the air. Join us next week as TNT kicks off a new era here on the USA network. We've got a dandy of a program tonight as Summer Blast is just days away. Jerry the King Lawler will go one on one with King Carl Fergie and the winner will have the sole rights to wear the crown. Before we get to our first match, I wanted to get a word with Cocoa Samoa. The fans cheer as Cocoa comes out. Lance: Cocoa, it's you and Ratamyus at Summer Blast, in a chain match! Cocoa: I've been counting down the hours.... Ratamyus and the Cuban Assassins storm the podium and attack Cocoa! Cheers as Polynesian Power run out and hit the Assassins! Lance bails as all 6 men are in an intense fight! Commercial Break The fight was broken up and Commissioner Larry Hennig is standing with Lance. Hennig: Things are getting way out of control. Since Ratamyus wants to fight Cocoa so bad and doesn't want to wait for Summer Blast, I have a solution. Their chain match will happen tonight! Massive pop! Lance: Oh my! Hennig: That's right Lance, and both the Cuban Assassins and Polynesian Power will be banned from the match. If anybody interferes, they will be fired! However, I've decided that those two teams will face each other at Summer Blast! Lance: Ok fans, big announcement from Larry Hennig! What a wild night this should be. Let's get to the ring. The Real Deal (Scott McGhee/Ricky Vaughn) vs. Kent Stevens and Harold Helms Vaughn works over Stevens then back drops him. Stevens bounces back and tags in Helms. Vaughn hip tosses him over and follows with a drop kick then tags in McGhee. McGhee works over Helms then tags in Vaughn (climbs to the top rope) Vaughn hits a missile dropkick then tags in McGhee. McGhee executes a German Suplex for the pin! The fans cheer as Real Deal heads to the podium. Lance talks about their upcoming match with the Blonde Bombers at Summer Blast and how Johnny Valiant made some disparaging remarks about them. McGhee and Vaughn say they have thick skin and remain focus on the task at hand...defeating the Blonde Bombers! Commercial Break Richard Charland vs. Gary Williams Charland nails Gary with a running forearm blast then hits a body slam. Charland rakes his boot across Williams head then picks him up and hurls him out of the ring. Charland goes outside, picks up Gary and body slams him on the concrete! Charland hurls Gary back in the ring. Charland picks up Gary and crashes him down with an inverted piledriver to get the pin! The fans boo as Charland heads to the podium. Lance: Well Mr. Charland, we've seen you and Gino Brito Jr. going at it of late and now you can settle things at Summer Blast. Charland gives a promo in French then storms off leaving behind a puzzled Lance Russell. Commercial Break TNT Champ Terry Funk joins Lance Russell for commentary for the next match. Tito Santana vs. Trent Parker Tito works over Parker with a series of arm drags. Funk puts over Tito's athleticism but says he's also a master manipulator. Tito back drops Parker. Parker staggers up as Tito swings off the ropes and hits the flying forearm for the win! Funk walks into the ring. Him and Tito have an intense stare down. Funk raises the TNT title and mouths some words to Tito. Funk turns around to exit. Tito runs at him but stops. Funk turns around quick. Tito points at him and nods his head basically saying I could of had you but I'll wait for Summer Blast. Funk warns him and doesn't take his eyes off him as he exits the ring. Commercial Break Lance: As we all know, at Summer Blast, it will now be Ted Dibiase defending the AWA World title against Jumbo Tsuruta. My guests at this time are Stan Stasiak and Jumbo Tsuruta. Ok Stan, I know this has got to throw things off a bit for your man. I mean you've been preparing for Hogan and now it's a whole new ballgame with Dibiase. Stasiak: It throws nothing off you idiot! Do you know who this man is? He's Jumbo Tsuruta! He's been with the best in the world and has defeated them all! Every style and every kind of opponent has fallen to Tsuruta. Dibiase will be no different! At Summer Blast, the result will be the same, Jumbo Tsuruta walks out with the AWA world title! Now, watch what my team Decimation does in the ring because at Summer Blast, this is what's going to happen to the Road Warriors! Decimation w/Stan Stasiak vs. Sam and Sean Smith Total squash! Shaw and Colley send Sean through the ropes with a running double shoulder block! Colley picks up Sam and powerslams him over. Shaw swings off the ropes and hits a big splash for the pin! The fans boo as Jumbo Tsuruta hits the ring, picks up Sam and powerbombs him down! Stasiak and his men stand tall as the boos continue. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, get ready because our chain match happens right now. I must say viewer discretion be advised because this will be brutal. Chain Match! Cocoa Samoa vs. Ratamyus Ratamyus has his face painted white and looks ominous as Cocoa looks like a man out of his mind with intensity. Several Refs are in there as they hook their wrists with the chain. This match will be under pinfall or submission rules. The fans cheer as both men are hooked. As soon as the Refs get out of there, Cocoa and Ratamyus yank the chain and try to get the first blow. Cocoa pulls Ratamyus in and nails him with a chain shot. Cocoa hits a body slam then wraps the chain around his fist and crashes down with a fist drop. Ratamyus is busted open. Cocoa gets up and rewraps the chain and hits another fist drop 1..2..Ratamyus gets his foot under the ropes. Cocoa rises and Ratamyus hits him with a low blow! Cocoa goes down to his knees as Ratamyus is still on the canvas regrouping. Ratamyus grabs the ropes, staggers around, then wraps the chain around Cocoa's neck and starts choking him. Cocoa is spitting up as Ratamyus chokes away. Ratamyus uses the chain and drags Cocoa back. Ratamyus takes the chain away from Cocoa's throat, then swings it down and hits Cocoa across the body several times. Cocoa is rolling around in pain. Ratamyus wraps the chain around his arm and drops an elbow on Cocoa's head, busting him open. Ratamyus repeats this 1..2..Cocoa barley gets his shoulder up. Ratamyus gets up and threatens the Ref with the chain. Ratamyus spends to much time threatening the Ref. Cocoa gets to his knees and manages to get the chain between the legs of Ratamyus. Cocoa jumps up and yanks the chain up! Ratamyus's body jumps in the air and he goes down in severe pain. The fans are going wild! Cocoa slowly regroups. Cocoa's eyes see nothing but red and the look on his face gives Lance Russell chills. Cocoa wraps the chain around his fist and just hammers away on Ratamyus! Cocoa lifts Ratamyus up then clotheslines him down with the chain! Cocoa pulls Ratamyus to the turnbuckles. Cocoa hops up on the middle ropes, wraps the chain around his head and crashes down with a headbutt 1..2..3!!!! The fans stand up and cheer! The Ref unhooks the chain and raises Cocoa's arm. Cocoa falls against the ropes. He's bleeding and exhausted but he raises his fist in triumph! Commercial Break Lance: Wow! That maybe the most brutal match I've ever seen on TV. Cocoa managed to walk out of here but the Cuban Assassins had to help Ratamyus to the back. Both men were bleeding pretty bad and both were beaten up badly. I guess this was the only way to finally solve this. Now that things have calmed down, let's go to the ring. 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol vs. Frank Figgens Idol really has the fans with him as he swings Frank to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Idol hoists Frank up and hits a Shin Breaker. The fans cheer as Idol clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock for the win! Lance: Ok Idol, come on over. At Summer Blast, it's you and Tully Blanchard for the TV title. It seems Tully is looking past this and towards a TNT title shot. Your thoughts? Idol: Listen up Tully! Austin Idol is no stepping stone Jack! You better be at your best baby because the odds in Vegas say Austin Idol is walking out TV champ! Idol gives the camera a wink and bicep pose. Lance: Ok, Austin Idol is clearly set and ready for Tully and the TV title. Let's take you to more training from Hercules Ayala as he gets ready for his taped fist match with Tony Atlas at Summer Blast. Video shows Ayala with taped fists punching away on a heavy bag tied to a tree. Ayala is intense with each punch. The final punch knocks the bag off the tree! Ayala: The training is over! Atlas! You're next! Commercial Break Footage is shown from last week as Steve O put on a mask to help him and Mr. Wrestling 2/3 win their match against Denny Brown and the Fabulous Ones. Lance: My guests at this time are the AWA Southern Tag team champions, the Fabulous Ones and Denny Brown. Keirn: Yea, they pulled one over on us last week but rest assured at Summer Blast, those masked buffoons don't stand a chance of taking these titles from us! Lane: That's right! Come Summer Blast, the Fabulous Ones are going to show them just who is the better team! Denny: I want the Fabs to know, I'll be keeping a close eye on things in case Steve O wants to play games. Steve! We aren't finished yet! Lance: Summer Blast will be a great night of action. Speaking of Steve O, he will be wrestling Brad Armstrong for the AWA Light Heavyweight championship. Let's hear some pre recorded comments from the champ. Armstrong: Man, it's been a roller coaster ride holding this title. I've faced the best the AWA has to offer and now I get to come to Memphis and wrestle at Summer Blast! Steve O, I respect your talent but I cant say I've respected your attitude of late. I'm hoping for a solid match but make no mistake about it, an Armstrong can turn the fight up if need be. Looking forward to Summer Blast! Commercial Break TV Main Event- Winner will be the true King! Jerry 'The King' Lawler vs. 'King' Carl Fergie w/Jimmy Hart Fergie gets rousing boos as he wears his king's crown and taunts the fans while Hart is applauding his king. Massive cheers as Lawler comes out wearing his king's crown. The bell rings and Hart high tails it out of the ring as Lawler and Fergie trade blows. Fergie rakes the eyes and swings Lawler to the ropes but Lawler comes back with a clothesline! Fergie rolls over and out of the ring. Hart attends to Fergie then yells at Lawler through his megaphone. Hart and Fergie start yelling at the fans. Lawler runs out, grabs both of their heads and knocks them together as the fans go crazy. Lawler grabs Fergie and hurls him back in the ring. Lawler hops on the middle ropes. Fergie staggers up and Lawler puts him down with a double axehandle. Lawler drops a knee 1..2..Hart puts Fergie's foot on the rope. The Ref looks at the foot then at Hart. Hart denies everything. Lawler gets up and goes to the ropes and warns Hart. Fergie slowly gets up and clips Lawler's knee from behind. Fergie regroups and Hart yells through his megaphone "Put him down baby!" Fergie grabs the top rope and drops several knees on Lawler then chokes him with his boot. Fergie drops down and chokes Lawler breaking at the count of 4, then repeats this. 12. Like the Patriots name for Daniels and Wright David Sammartino pulls off the classic heel lowblow to defeat Lothario. Bassarab and Thornton continue to stack up wins. Great job in establishing Haystacks as a monster heel. Awesome hard hitting main event that sends the fans home happy.
  13. TNT trades Tom Prichard to Georgia for Jerry Grey.
  14. Rocky Mountain Wrestling kicks off with a bang as new AWA Champ Ted Dibiase immediately gets heel heat. Blackjack's wisdom will do nothing but help young Mike Von Erich. Solid debut for the Super Samoans. This team will bring a lot of energy. Hillbilly Jim could be a huge star in this territory. Ciclone does a number on Strongbow and might end up sending him home on a stretcher. Sugar and Ox another round...YES! Wahoo gets the title shot! Wahoo and Dibiase will be a classic! On to Stampede, Oh man, Flair and Hennig with Heenan! Watch out AWA! Williams and Fernandez make sure everybody knows they're still contenders. Sweetan and Stevens will be a brawl! Gama starts off in Stampede right where he left off with massive heel heat. Slaughter puts Anvil down but Anvil has some partners ready to go for that big 6 man match. Fun debut for Ric McCord. Nikita dominates and vows to win the big battle royal. I hope Dibiase is ready for the variety of challengers all across the AWA.
  15. I agree, it's good to take a breather and regroup. I use to love recap and clip shows because I got to see what went down at the big events.
  16. Bugsy continues his winning streak. Love the Nightmares and Soul Patrol going at it. Mr. Fuji's Super Black Ninja pulls off a huge win and defeats Armstrong for the Jr. title! Cooley and Casey make a great team but now there's another Bass brother to contend with. LOL, Madril continues to have luck on his side. Herc kidnaps Linda and costs Street the match! You don't mess with Street's lady. Cool seeing Olympia use the DDT on Rogers, who was subbing for Jake. Well done. Freebirds once again get the best of Devastation Inc. Freebirds have some serious momentum going.
  17. LOL, yea Buzz tossing his brother out was good stuff. Michaels gets his biggest win so far against Kirby. Poffo's are united again and win the tag battle royal. High Flyers win one for America but sneaky Sheik and Koloff walk away with the heat.
  18. First off, awesome debut TV show! I love how the heels really welcomed in Schiavone LOL. Great build to the big Omni card. Outstanding Omni card! Masked Superstar wins the opener in brutal fashion. Arn beats Brett Sawyer with the classic gordbuster. Pez and Norvell were fired up but Sheik and Koloff walk away with a strong win. LOL, David was so upset he lost focus and Lanny takes advantage to get the very quick win. Duggan beats Ole and solidifies himself as a face. Andersons do a post match beat down but Terry Taylor comes to Duggan's rescue! This should be a fun feud. Hansen and Brody had to end this way. These two always have epic brawls and I hope to see more of them. Fantastics finally beat the Long Riders for the belts! What a chase and it finally pays off here. I liked all the intrigue surrounding the Reed/Sawyer match. I thought for sure Parsons was turning on Reed but NO! he calls it fair and Reed walks away with the title! Great stuff! Race vs. Rich was epic. Rich had things going until his old rival Masked Superstar comes in and helps Race destroy Rich. Creative ending that keeps Rich strong. What a main event! I didn't know where this match would end up and I never expected this. Patera and Blackwell work over Hogan while Dibiase is down. Poor Dibiase, wins the title but the fans and Hogan really give it to him. Did Dibiase know about this? We'll find out. Dibiase is the new AWA World Champ! Superb show from top to bottom!
  19. Tony is moving on and David comes in. LOL, the wrestlers will have a lot of fun with David. White and Weaver have a ton of confidence and promise to become WORLD tag champs! However, the Fantastics might player spoilers. The Big news!!! Randy Savage arrives! Savage takes down Link and leaves with Elizabeth! Awesome segment! Savage fits in so well here. Love the Gino/Tonga feud going. Khruschev beats Boomer for the TV title! Kevin Kelly comes off a big win over Kernodle but gets THUMPED the next night by a debuting JYD!
  20. I agree, Bock and Kevin is money! Also love the Islanders and Moondogs brawling. Glamour Boys keep moving up the ladder. And hey how about Kerry and Saito. That's a gem.
  21. Love this format and explaining the aftermath. Blackjack unites with Stu and works a pretty good deal out with Verne and the AWA. He aint the Brain for nothing LOL. He got the Sheiks to do some dirty work but now he has Bret Hart coming after him. I'm sure the fans will have no problem forgiving Bret. Sheik Adnan regroups! Slaughter is the ace here but I really like the addition of Gama, especially in Stampede. Talk about heel heat! Oh man who is Baby Doll going to recruit??? With all the regrouping and recruiting, the Brain might be getting the biggest acquisition of them all...WHOOOOO! Things just got real!
  22. WHOA! Hercules and Shultz arrive and immediately cause havoc against the two biggest faces in the company. Shultz really took it to Bullet and Herc costs Fuller his match with Landel. The main event scene is going to explode real soon. Speaking of Landel, he takes advantage of all the help and advances to face Olympia for the Continental Title. Love the Madril, Brad Armstrong, Street storyline. Just when we think the Nightmares/Rat Patrol feud is winding down, things elevate to another level. This has been one of my favorite feuds. Freebirds continue to roll as Hayes and Buddy win the Street Fight and Gordy retains by taking OMG down! Cant wait for the Landel/Olympia match!
  23. Welcome!!! Couple of house shows to get the vibe in Georgia going. Liked that Bassarab/Thornton-Duk/Tojo draw. The Andersons are united and are going to cause some havoc Road Warriors come to town and defend against Pez and Norvell. UT OH! seeds are planted with Yoko and Haystacks. Hogan is set to defend against Dibiase but tonight they work well together and get a win over Heaven's Angels. Cant wait for your first TV and watch what you do with this roster.
  24. Welcome!!! Great Lakes Wrestling TV debuts! This territory will be a nice addition to the AWA. Good way to kick things off with Bruiser Brody. Love the Sawyer promo as he has strong words for Reed. Sawyer follows with an open challenge. Michaels gives Sawyer a run for his money but the powerslam puts an end to that. YES! Harley and Rich for the Great Lakes title! Hogan seems pumped up and ready for Dibiase. Cant wait for that match. Fargo and Weingeroff help Sheik and Koloff defeat the Poffos. High Flyers run in. This puts your tag team division over. Looking forward to watching things unfold here.
  25. Love the new look as Continental Wrestling debuts on the Superstation. Landel comes in and is immediately set up as a big star. Nice work here. I am sad that we didn't get to see the battle of the Nature Boys. Hopefully somewhere down the line. Olympia is really rolling. Defiantly a top dog here. Robley has all the confidence in his Bass boys but watch out because Brickhouse and Koko are back in action as the Soul Patrol! Rat Patrol have strong words for the Nightmares and Landel. This is a good ol fashion southern feud. Freebirds are on fire! Gordy is champ and warns Bullet that the belt stays with him. I cant wait for the Fiesta Garden! LOL, Street calling Madril Alvin was hilarious and then he says he loves the name Alberto. LOL, great stuff! Madril beats a world champ! Some good heat between Armstrong and Street. Great new show and look! The Superstation is going to give this talented roster some well deserved exposure.
