All-Star Wrestling keeps the momentum going. The Light Hvy division is providing some great action as Gilbert gets a shot with a win over Hiro. The AWA and the fans are taking notice of the Road Warriors path of destruction. Looks like Heenan and Rude are officially together. This will put Rude on the map. Jimmy Garvin almost gets pinned on TV but comes back with a vengeance. Rheingans just might be the right fit for Gagne as they have good chemistry and get a solid win over Turk and Assassin. Love this hard hitting power feud going between Bulldog and Anvil. The tag team division gets more competitive as Jules and Two Rivers get a good TV win over Cash and Norvell. Looks like Cash wasn't pleased with his partner. Oh man Hennig and Martel could be in trouble for their upcoming title match as they took a beating from the Sheiks, Sheepherders and a surprise run in by Abdullah!!! Fun highlights as Hart and Garvin advance with hard fought victories. Dynamite and Gilbert go to a classic 30 minute draw. I love these matches. Good stuff as feuds are heating up and storylines are developing well. Next up Hogan vs. Lawler!

I totally agree with Edger. This project ended on the best high possible. I loved reading this project and then had a blast participating in it. You guys did an outstanding job! Thanks again LowBlow for wrapping it all up with WrestleMania 3. What a historic night at the historic Astrodome. Show kicks off with none other than Kenny Rogers! Nice touch. Hot opener as the Rockers defeat the Russians to heat up the crowd. Exciting 8 man tag follows. Showing his frustration, Bad News ditches his partners leaving Hercules to take the fall. I'm really happy Tito got the pin here. The WWF workhorse deserved the moment. It was fun watching the build of Hennig and he continues to rise to superstardom with a huge win over Kamala. Rougeau's put up a fight but man Bravo and Valentine looked brutal here as they get the victory. Butch Reed gets an amazing Wrestlemania win over OMG, solidifying himself as a big time face. Good hard hitting brawl. Wow! Demolition regain the titles in a fantastic match with the Harts. This match was a year in the making and the payoff was well worth the wait. The fans might not of liked the outcome but the match was incredible. Things just keep turning up as Andre and Funk tear the Dome down with a wild and crazy brawl. Funk looks double tough but in the end Andre prevails and rides out a hero. I had to catch my breath before going into Savage/Lawler LOL. Another outstanding match full of drama and action. If there's one thing that could wake Savage up from a piledriver on the concrete, it's Lawler messing with Liz. Savage regroups and piledrives Lawler and hits the flying elbow for the decisive victory! Very personal and emotional match with Windham/Mulligan and Arn/Tully. The action is back and forth with Arn/Tully finally able to finish Mulligan off. They might of lost but Windham and Mulligan showed family means more. LOL, fun little cool down match between HTM and Brutus with a fun finish. Brutus gets a little payback by cutting some of Jimmy's hair. Now we get to literally the biggest match of the year. The build to this was full of obstacles, bounty's, twists, turns and intrigue. What an amazing ride this has been and now it's time for Flair and Hogan, one on one! The match more than delivered and had the crowd on the edge of their seats. We get all the Hogan and Flair spots. Then both men get busted up and even Heenan takes a massive bump. Flair works the leg and applies the figure four but Hogan Hulks up! Flair still comes back but the power of Hulkamania was to strong and Hogan puts him down with the famous leg drop and regains the WWF Championship! The epic night ends with 65,387 fans running wild as Hogan celebrates with the title! LowBlow, you went out with a bang brother!

Just as I thought, a super stacked WrestleMania! I'm so glad you're posting this as the final 83 Project card. What a way to go out. I cant wait for it!

This was a really fun Portland card. It's great seeing all these guys with Portland history. I like the Brooks/Orton California Cowboys team and it looks like they are going to be involved in a solid program with Sawyer and Barr. Burke gets a measure of revenge by beating up Flower's partner. Adias shows he has some fight but Adonis prevails. Cant wait to see the Adonis/Ventura team in action. Portland favorite Billy Jack gets a tough win over Dirty White Boy but looks like Anthony will be back. McGhee gets in his German suplex and impresses with a win over Madril. LOL I wonder who that guy is dancing with Jimmy? Should make for some good comedy relief. Rose (and the Army) get the shady win over Adams. It looks like Adams has some back up. I'm loving the rings and cant wait to watch this play out. Great job!

The action was non stop! The Light Hvy division is white hot right now as the winners of the qualifying matches advanced to the historical 4 way match. After all the great action, Dynamite Kid takes home the title! No doubt Dynamite will take this division to another level. He defiantly has a lot of contenders standing in line. Rick Rude is getting some good buzz and has gotten the attention of Bobby Heenan. Paul Ellering cuts a strong promo and hypes up his Road Warriors then adds to the doom with Konga the Barbarian. This is one devastating faction! Speaking of devastating, the Sheepherders were just that on TV. Looks like we got the start of a fun mid card feud between Turk and Rheingans. Boyd's distraction leads to Leduc getting a shady win over Rheingans to advance against Bret in the tournament. The tournament is heating up now. Great card in Denver. Rude and Konga continue to look strong. Rheingans bounces back from his tournament loss with a strong win over Turk. Anvil looks solid but so does Perez. Who can stop the Road Warriors??? Harts gain the first decisive win in their feud with the Sheepherders. That's been a wild one. Jimmy advances with his heel tactics. Will he go all the way? Hot ending with a hot feud as the Sheiks once again get DQ. A Gimmick match might have to settle things. Man, the AWA is really rolling right now!
-
Yea for some reason I saw these guys and thought they would make a good combo. Good comparison to Putski/Santana.

TNT Wrestling @ The Hemisfair Arena, San Antonio TX, 1-13-84 Soul Patrol (Koko Ware and Sweet Brown Sugar) vs. Terry Gibbs and Scott Ferris Gibbs and Ferris get in some offense and do a good job of double teaming Sugar. Soul Patrol regain control and go on a high flying offensive rampage. The finish comes when Sugar drop kicks Ferris out of the ring and Ware executes the Gourdbuster on Gibbs for the pin! David Shultz and Bob Sweetan vs. The Gladiators (two jobbers under masks) Before the match, Shultz and Sweetan get some big time heel heat when Shultz grabs the mic from the announcer and dedicates this match to the Fabulous Ones. The two masked Gladiators didn't stand a chance as Shultz and Sweetan just put a beating on them. They hurl one of the Gladiators out of the ring. Sweetan hops up on the middle rope. Shultz hoists his opponent up in the piledriver position and they crash down with a spike piledriver to get the pin! The fans boo them all the way up the aisle as Shultz and Sweetan continuously stop to yell at them. Mr. USA Tony Atlas vs. Phil Hickerson Fun match up between the big Hickerson and muscular Atlas. Atlas works over Hickerson with some headbutts and body slams. After an eye rake, Hickerson comes back with some body slams of his own and a couple suplexes. The fans fire Atlas up and he comes back with some thrust shots. During his comeback there's a stir in the crowd as Johnny Valiant comes to ringside. Atlas has Hickerson reeling. Atlas springs off the ropes but Valiant trips him. Atlas stumbles forward then turns around and goes to the outside to chase Valiant. Atlas grabs him and is ready to hit him when Hickerson clubs Atlas from behind! Hickerson stomps away. Valiant eventually joins in and the Ref signals for the DQ. Hickerson and Valiant give Atlas a few more stomps before exiting to the sounds of boos. Johnny Valiant seems to have a new client. Rolling Thunder (Ivan Putski and Rick McGraw) vs. Ratamyus and Cuban Assassin This one's been brewing. Ratamyus is one bizarre character as he takes off his hood and is decked out in his face paint. This doesn't seem to faze Putski and McGraw as they charge and take the fight to him and Cuban Assassin. The Ref eventually gets control. Putski and McGraw control the early portion but Cuban gouges McGraw's eyes and swings him into the boot of Ratamyus to take control. Cuban and Ratamyus work over McGraw with body slams, choking, kicks and stomps. The crowd pops when McGraw makes the hot tag to Putski. Putski comes in and hammers away on his opponents. A forearm blast sends Cuban into his corner. Putski body slams Ratamyus and tags in McGraw. McGraw hits a jumping elbow drop on Ratamyus 1..2..Cuban breaks the count. Putski runs in and punches away on Cuban. The Ref guides Putski back. Ratamyus lowblows McGraw and Cuban follows with a running clothesline. The Ref turns around as Ratamyus covers McGraw 1..2..3! Ratamyus and Cuban get out of the ring as Putski charges after them. Jerry 'The King' Lawler vs. Don Bass w/Jimmy Hart Lawler wanted to take on a big tough opponent as he prepares for his upcoming AWA title match with Hogan. Jimmy Hart was more than willing to oblige as he quickly signed his man Don Bass to the match. Lawler got what he asked for as Bass takes it to him. Bass slams Lawler down and puts the boots to him by the ropes. Bass chokes Lawler with his boot. The Ref guides him back which allows Hart to choke away on his old friend Lawler. Later on the fans roar as Lawler makes his comeback and pulls his strap down! Lawler hammers away with fists and has Bass reeling. Lawler gets Bass up and body slams him down. Hart gets on the apron and the fans roar as Lawler punches him off. Lawler hops up on the middle rope and crashes down on Bass with the fist drop 1..2..3! Lawler motions his hands around his waist signaling he's ready for Hogan. Intermission The Guerreros and Cocoa Samoa vs. The Nightmares and Adrian Street w/Miss Linda Wild 6 man match as all of these guys have unfinished business. As soon as the bell rings Cocoa storms after Street like a madman. Street hightails it out of there while the Guerreros and Nightmares brawl. The match is back and forth. Every time Cocoa gets in the ring, Street gets out of there except when the Nightmares get control, then Street gets his stomps in on Cocoa. Eventually chaos ensues and everybody is brawling again. Finally Cocoa gets his hands on Street and just punches away. Cocoa punches him through the ropes and follows. In the ring the Nightmares and Guerreros are battling. The Guerreros swing Davis to the ropes and double back drop him. Mando goes to the top rope. Chavo swings Wayne to the ropes and punches him in the mid section then Mando comes off the top rope with a sunset flip 1..2..3! The fans explode. On the outside Cocoa is pounding away on Street until Miss Linda jumps on his back and starts choking him. Cocoa gets her off and warns her. During this, Street gets up and runs away. 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol vs. Hercules Ayala These guys have been going at it and that continues tonight. Ayala is still looking for payback from when Idol busted him open a couple weeks ago by ramming his head into the steel post. This match never officially gets started as they start brawling before the bell rings. The Ref never gets control and ends up ruling the match a No Contest. That doesn't stop Idol and Ayala from brawling all around the ring and up the aisle. TNT TV Champ Tommy Rich and Terry Funk vs. Harley Race and Tully Blanchard Fantastic match as all 4 men are on their A game tonight. Everybody shines in this match as it goes around 40 minutes. During the match Race and Funk have some furious encounters. Funk works over Race with knife edge chops and multiple punches but also pulls out a Russian Leg Sweep and various suplexes. Race brings his arsenal as he hits Funk with a variety of suplexes and a diving headbutt. Rich and Blanchard put on a show as well. Blanchard wants to show everybody why he should be TV champ so he body slams Rich and hits a delayed knee drop followed by multiple elbow drops. Rich comes back with a back drop followed by a drop kick and a standing fist drop. In the end Race and Funk brawl to the outside. In the ring Rich swings Tully to the ropes but their heads collide leaving them both on the ground. The Ref is looking at them and doesn't see Race hit Funk with a chair on the outside. As Rich slowly rises, Race gets in the ring and hits him from behind with a high knee. The Ref guides Race back. Tully gets up, hoists Rich up and hits the Slingshot Suplex 1..2..3! Non Title Bout AWA TNT Champ Nick Bockwinkel vs. Wahoo McDaniel Because of Bockwinkel's recent comments, Wahoo wanted this match. Bockwinkel accepted (feeling humiliated after the recent TV show) but refused to put the title on the line. Wahoo knows he gets his title match on January 23rd so he gladly accepted the terms. Bock does a lot of stalling at the beginning which irritates both the fans and Wahoo. Once again they're about to lock up but Bock slides out of the ring but he's close to the apron. As he argues with the fans, Wahoo reaches down, grabs Bock's hair and pulls him up on the apron. Wahoo punches away then suplexes Bock back in the ring. It's all Wahoo for the first few minutes as he works Bock over with chops, slams and headbutts. Wahoo then executes a butterfly suplex 1..2..Bock gets his foot on the rope. The tide turns when Wahoo goes to pick up Bock but Bock hits him in the mid section, grabs his singlet and pulls him through the ropes. This gives Bock much needed time to regroup. As soon as Wahoo gets back in the ring, Bock scoop slams him down. Bock works over Wahoo's back, executes a vertical suplex then hits a backbreaker. Bock gives a smirk then applies the Boston Crab! Bock wrenches away as Wahoo fights it. The fans cheer and chant "Wahoo"! Wahoo struggles, pushes himself up and makes it to the ropes! Bock is furious and argues with the Ref for making him release the hold. Bock keeps arguing with the Ref and finally turns back to Wahoo. Bock picks Wahoo up and goes for a suplex but Wahoo blocks it and suplexes Bock! Wahoo starts to regroup. Bock staggers up and Wahoo chops him into the turnbuckles. Wahoo grabs Bock and swings him towards the opposite turnbuckles but Bock reverses it and swings Wahoo into the turnbuckles. Wahoo staggers back and Bock clamps on the sleeper but Wahoo runs backwards and slams Bock into the turnbuckles. Wahoo swings Bock hard into the opposite turnbuckles. Bock hits hard and staggers forward and Wahoo nails him with a big chop to the head 1..2..3!!!! The fans explode! The Ref raises Wahoo's hand as he acknowledges the cheering fans. Next time these two meet, the TNT Title will be on the line!

The action is back on WTBS! Really fun set of matches here. I love how you have Gordon calling the action. Nice touch! Orndorff and Sawyer have a fun brawl that ends with Orndorff beating the 10 count. Reed gets a strong win over Tito to advance. In classic heel form Koloff uses Markoff's distraction to nail Jake with the chain to advance. I liked the heel vs. heel match between Dibiase and Superstar as both men try to outdo each other with heel tactics. Of course they brawl to a no contest which allows Koloff a ticket to the finals. My favorite match had to be Orndorff/Reed. Great match! Reed gets the submission win. I think Reed has the momentum going now. Koloff better be ready. You did a great job setting the tone for Superstars on the Superstation. Cant wait for more!

TNT Wrestling TV @ The Junction, San Antonio TX, 1-11-84 The show opens with footage from last week of Bob Sweetan and David Shultz's attack on the Fabulous Ones. Sweetan and Shultz deliver piledrivers to Keirn and Lane on the concrete! The show goes live to Steve Stack standing behind his podium. Stack: Hello everybody and welcome to TNT Wrestling on the USA Network coming to you from the Junction in San Antonio. TNT is sanctioned by the AWA. I'm Steve Stack and I'll be your host here at the Junction. I'm thrilled to be a part of the AWA and TNT Wrestling. Lot's of action for you tonight including a big tag team match as Johnny Valiant's Decimation clash with Jumbo Tsuruta and Billy Robinson. Speaking of tag teams, you all saw that vicious attack by Sweetan and Shultz on the tag champs, the Fabulous Ones. I've been informed that due to injuries sustained, the Fabulous Ones will not be able to meet their title commitments. I've also been informed that on January 23rd on the ESPN Supercard, the Guerreros will wrestle the Nightmares for the vacated AWA Southern tag titles. Very unfortunate turn of events for the Fabulous Ones. Myself and all the fans wish them a speedy recovery. As for Sweetan and Shultz, they've been heavily fined.... The fans boo as Sweetan and Shultz storm the podium. They scream and yell about how they don't care about fines. They said that was a statement and a message that they're here in TNT and every other team better take notice! Stack: (A little rattled) ok, well let's go to the ring. Terry Funk vs. Gary Williams Funk hammers away on Williams, swings him to the ropes and hits a back elbow smash. Funk works over Williams leg, then applies the spinning toe hold. Williams cant take it and submits. The crowd cheers as Funk grabs his branding iron and holds it up to them. Funk heads to the podium. Funk: I heard that no good dirty dog Harley Race saying he's gonna knock me down. Race! I want a fight! Try and knock me down! I'm begging you to try. The next time we square off, you're the one getting knocked down and out! Commercial Break Rolling Thunder (Rick McGraw and Ivan Putski) vs. Paul Rooney and Mark Hillman Last week Putski helped McGraw out as he was being double teamed by Ratamyus and Cuban Assassin. This week they're teaming up and looking good. McGraw's quickness blends well with Putski's power. The finish comes when McGraw hits Hillman with a high drop kick then tags in Putski. Putski swings Hillman to the ropes and hits the Polish Hammer for the pin! Rolling Thunder cut a promo and say they have some good chemistry and are gunning for the titles but first they're going to take care of Ratamyus and Cuban Assassin. Stack: Looking forward to watching more of Rolling Thunder. Joining me now is Tully Blanchard. Tully, I know you have eyes on the TV title. Tully: Damn right I do! Tommy Rich is walking around with my title. He gets a fluke win over Dream Machine last week and now he thinks he's a true champion. Steve, I am an athlete, I am a true wrestler and I should be representing TNT television with that title. Tommy Rich, enjoy your reign because it's going to be a short one my friend. Commercial Break Cocoa Samoa vs. Terry Gibbs Gibbs gets in some hard hitting offense and takes the fight to Cocoa. Cocoa turns things around with a jumping headbutt followed by a body slam. Cocoa hops up on the middle ropes and hits a body splash for the pin! The fans cheer as Cocoa flashes the hang loose sign then heads to the podium. Just as Steve starts to ask him a question, Cocoa is nailed from behind by Adrian Street! Street stomps on Cocoa then clamps on the sleeper! Cocoa is out. Miss Linda hands Street some lipstick. Street puts lipstick all over Cocoa's face. Street then throws some glitter on Cocoa's face before exiting. Commercial Break Cocoa is revived by trainees. Cocoa slowly rubs his face and looks at his hand. A look of rage goes over Cocoa's face. He starts to go berserk. Trainees are trying to calm him down but Cocoa is going crazy. More officials come out to restrain and calm him down. Cocoa pushes them all away then storms out. TNT TV Champ Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich vs. Marvin Jones The fans are cheering the newly crowned TV champ on as he punches away on Jones. The match is all Rich as he body slams Jones and follows with a knee drop. Rich swings Jones to the ropes and hits the Thesz Press for the pin! The crowd continues to cheer as Rich holds up the TV title to them. Rich cuts a fired up promo and says regardless of what Blanchard says, he's going to represent TNT well and remain champ for a long long time and informs the people that on January 23rd he will be defending his TV title against Tully Blanchard. Tommy is fired up tonight! Steve Stack then brings out Mando and Chavo Guerrero. They talk about their upcoming opportunity of a lifetime on the 23rd and remind the fans of their unfinished business with the Nightmares and that business will be finished on January 23rd! Commercial Break 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol vs. Vic Dutro Idol does a lot of flexing and showboating as the fans boo. Idol controls the match. He puts Vic down with a clothesline, then picks him up and hits a shin breaker. Idol showboats then clamps on the Las Vegas Leglock to get the submission win! The fans give it to Idol as he continues to flex. The boos turn to a roar as Hercules Ayala hits the ring and nails Idol from behind! Ayala pounds away on Idol until Idol rolls out of the ring and stumbles out of there. Ayala pumps his fists to the cheering crowd then heads to the podium. Ayala: Idol busted my head open a couple weeks ago but Idol didn't get the job done! Revenge is mine and I promise I will make his head bleed with my bare hands! Stack: A very heated Hercules Ayala. I would hate to be Austin Idol right now. Joining me now are the Nightmares. You guys will meet the Guerreros on January 23rd to determine the AWA Southern tag team champs. The Nightmares say they have a big surprise in store for the Guerreros on the 23rd and this surprise will guarantee them the titles. They walk away laughing, leaving Stack with a puzzled look. Commercial Break Stack: Fans, before we get to our main event. My guest at this time will get a shot at the AWA World Title on January 23rd. Please welcome Jerry the King Lawler. Lawler stops and acknowledges the fans. Not a Memphis pop but he gets a nice pop. Lawler: Steve, I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. I heard Hulk Hogan talking about his power and how his pythons are going to take the king down. Well let me tell you something Hulk Hogan. It will take a lot more than that to put the king down. You're coming into my backyard buddy and there's no way you're walking out of Memphis with the world title. No chance! The night ends with the King raising the title high in front of MY Memphis crowd! Stack: It's Hulk Hogan defending the AWA World Title against Jerry Lawler on January 23rd, live on ESPN. You wont want to miss that one. Let's go to our big main event. Billy Robinson and Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Decimation (Randy Colley and Mike Shaw) w/ Johnny Valiant Fun hard hitting TV main event as both teams are looking strong tonight. Robinson and Tsuruta get control and slow things down with some solid wrestling. Decimation regain control as Shaw eye rakes Tsuruta and Colley chokes him on the ropes. They work over Tsuruta in the corner. Johnny Valiant gets involved with some choking of his own. Robinson has enough and storms over. The Ref tries to guide him back but Robinson pushes him away and continues the brawl. Tsuruta gets his wits back and all four men are brawling. The Ref finally gets control. It doesn't last long as another brawl ensues. Valiant hops on the apron but Robinson and Tsuruta nail him with a double forearm blast, sending him flying. Colley charges but Tsuruta and Robinson back drop him over the top rope. Tsuruta nails Shaw with a running forearm then Robinson rolls Shaw up 1..2..3!!! Big pop as Robinson and Tsuruta stand tall in the ring. Commercial Break Stack: That was some match. Big win for Robinson and Tsuruta. Fans, joining me now is the AWA TNT Champion Nick Bockwinkel. Nick, it's you and Wahoo McDaniel for the TNT title on January 23rd. Nick: Steve, you and I both know I should be getting that world title match with Hogan. But instead I have to defend the TNT title against a man who's not in the same league as myself. Now this TNT title is very prestigious which is exactly why I should be wrestling Hogan and not an underachiever like McDaniel. It's really an embarrassment to myself and this title. Fans cheer as Wahoo McDaniel comes out Wahoo: You know Nick, I've been listening to you whine for the last two weeks and quite frankly I'm sick of it. You've insulted me and are underestimating me. You're making a huge mistake by looking past me and you're going to find that out first hand when we meet on the 23rd. Nick: I've done nothing but stated facts (Bock puts his finger on Wahoo's chest) and you're the one who's going to find out why I'm the TNT champ on the 23rd. Wahoo grabs Nick's finger and twists it then pushes him back. The fans are cheering as Wahoo gives Nick a warning point then walks away. An embarrassed Nick charges Wahoo but Wahoo turns around and chops Nick then hurls him in the ring. The fans are going crazy as Wahoo punches away on Nick then swings him to the ropes and puts him down with a big chop. The show ends with the fans standing up cheering while Wahoo is standing over Nick.

TNT sends Stan Hansen to Pacific for Bobby Jaggers.

Great debut show Rain! I've always loved your writing style. Like Kev said, it's easy to follow. I like how you give info on the wrestlers during the match like a commentator. RnR get a solid win and are set up as immediate contenders. I can get behind a Baron/Spoiler feud. LOL, Larry Z is up to his old tricks as he steals a win over Steve O. Starr and Cobra put on a show stealing match as Cobra wins the nail biter. The highlight is Rose and his henchmen. Great ending as Flowers is deemed "King of Canada". I think Burke will want another shot at Flowers but looks like he might need some friends to help fight off Rose and Co. Looking forward to the next show in Portland.

3 tournaments to follow will be awesome! I like how everybody gets a shot at something. Very much looking forward to wrestling on WTBS and of course at the Omni.

Don Owen makes a deal with Verne! The AWA now has the West Coast. This is going to be a lot of fun to follow. Looking forward to watching what you do with that roster Rain.

Things are moving at a fast pace on All-Star Wrestling! The Light Heavyweight division is really heating up. Buck is going to have his hands full with Dynamite and Gilbert chasing him. Couple of heated feuds going on as the Harts and Crusher are having some serious brawls with Leduc and the Sheepherders. Also, the Sheiks are having a tough time with Martel and Hennig. And now that the Road Warriors have arrived, the tag team scene is getting hotter. Nice debut for Al Perez. The King lays it out for Hogan and Hogan responds. These two are heading for a collision. Zenk advances but man Anvil gave him a pretty good beating. Solid card at the Pavillion. Love that Dynamite/Electricity match. Road Warriors looked dominant. Sheiks/Hennig and Martel still have unfinished business as do Harts and Sheepherders. Bret advances with a credible win over the Superstar. Hogan reigns over Bundy...Again. Hogan looks more than ready for Lawler. Once again your tag division is stacked! Great job Kev!

TNT Wrestling TV @ The Roane Fieldhouse, Memphis TN, 1-4-84 Lance Russell: Hello everyone and welcome to the USA Network television debut of TNT wrestling, sanctioned by the American Wrestling Association. I'm Lance Russell and I'll be hosting the Tennessee television shows. I'm very excited to be a part of the AWA and on that note, I want to bring out the man himself, Verne Gagne. Verne: Thank you very much Lance. 1984 should be a historic year for the AWA. We're very happy to be here on the USA Network. The AWA will be giving the fans the best wrestling action possible, as wrestlers from all over the world will be competing under the AWA banner. I'm very much looking forward to the working relationship between myself, Stu Hart, Joe Blanchard and Jerry Jarrett. Before I leave I want to remind all the fans that on January 23rd at the Mid South Coliseum, live on ESPN, the AWA will present our first joint super card. The main event will be Hulk Hogan defending the AWA World title against Jerry 'The King' Lawler. That's the kind of action the AWA will be bringing to you. Lance, I know you and these great fans are ready for action, so I wont take up any more time. Lance: (smiling) Thank you very much Mr. Gagne. Tonight you will see that action Verne Gagne is talking about. We will crown a TNT TV champion, as Tommy Rich will take on Jimmy Hart's Dream Machine. Also in action will be Tony Atlas, Tully Blanchard and Jerry Lawler. The Soul Patrol, Sweet Brown Sugar and Koko Ware will be in the ring. You'll also see Rick McGraw taking on the Cuban Assassin and a big tag match with the Guerreros taking on the Nightmares. We will also hear from the AWA TNT Champion Nick Bockwinkel and the AWA Southern tag team champs the Fabulous Ones. Right now let's get to the ring as Cocoa Samoa clashes with Adrian Street. Cocoa Samoa vs. Exotic Adrian Street w/ Miss Linda These two have been trading wins on the house shows and now they get things going on TV. Street takes his time as he skips around the ring blowing kisses up at Cocoa. When the bell rings, Cocoa unloads on Street. Cocoa dominates early by pounding away on Street and a headbutt sends him through the ropes. Miss Linda helps Street recover. Street later takes control and wears Cocoa down with an Indian Deathlock. Cocoa makes a comeback but it's stopped by an eye rake. Street swings Cocoa to the ropes, misses a clothesline and Cocoa comes back with a flying body press 1..2..3!! The crowd cheers as Cocoa rolls out of the ring to celebrate with the fans. Linda runs in the ring to console a furious Street. Commercial Break Lance: What a way to kick things off on TNT as Cocoa Samoa gets the win over Adrian Street. Fans, please welcome the current AWA TNT Champ, Nick Bockwinkel. Nick walks out with pure arrogance on his face as he shows off his title to the booing fans. Nick: Mr. Russell, you are looking at the most premier dominant champion in the entire AWA. I beat the so called King for this title. My question is why is Lawler getting the world title shot at Hogan on January 23rd? Is he the TNT champion? No! Hogan is walking around with my world title. It looks like Verne is up to his old tricks again and is protecting his golden boy. Lance: Hold on a minute Nick. Their match was signed before Lawler lost the TNT title. I have been informed that you will meet the winner of that match and get your world title shot. But first things first. You will be defending your TNT title on January 23rd against Wahoo McDaniel. Nick: McDaniel is a formidable opponent but is nowhere near the level I am. I will use the exposure on ESPN to showcase my talents and prove to the world why I should be AWA world champ. It doesn't matter who wins between Hogan and Lawler because the end result will be the same. Nick Bockwinkel will be the AWA world champ. Lance: A strong prediction from Nick Bockwinkel but he better not look past the challenge of Wahoo McDaniel. Wahoo will be in action next week. Fans back to the ring. Tully Blanchard vs. Keith Ramsey Tully puts on a wrestling clinic tonight with a series of take downs. Tully turns it up with a back elbow smash off the ropes then follows with a delayed forearm drop. Tully toys with Keith for a bit then finishes him off with a sling shot suplex for the pin! Tully cuts a promo and says he's the only one worthy to wear the TV title and issues a challenge to the winner of the Rich/Dream Machine match. Commercial Break Mr. USA Tony Atlas vs. Frank Romer The fans are way behind Atlas tonight as he body slams Romer down. Atlas picks up Romer and nails him with a headbutt. Atlas military presses Romer over his head and slams him down then follows with a body splash for the pin! Atlas cuts a promo and says he's here for the gold. Lance: Ok, a fired up Tony Atlas. I'm sure he's going to make a splash here in TNT. Fans joining me now is a legend in wrestling, multi time world champion Harley Race. Race: Lance, as you know I'm a champion and it doesn't feel right walking around without a title. That's going to change real quick but first I need to take care of a nuisance and that nuisance is one Terry Funk. Funk! You're an obstacle on my way to bigger and better things and since you wont stay out of my way, I'm just going to have to knock you down! Commercial Break 'Quick Draw' Rick McGraw vs. The Cuban Assassin The crowd boos as Ratamyus is escorting Cuban Assassin to the ring. Lance Russell doesn't know why Ratamyus is out here. The bell rings and Cuban attacks Rick from behind. Cuban swings Rick to the ropes and goes for a back drop but Rick kicks him. Cuban staggers back and Rick puts him down with a drop kick. Rick starts pumping his fists but Ratamyus jumps Rick from behind and hammers away. The Ref signals for the DQ! Cuban staggers up and joins the beatdown. They pick Rick up and double body slam him then start kicking away. The fans roar as Ivan Putski hits the ring, Putski starts hammering away on both men until they roll out of the ring. Cuban and Ratamyus yell and make threats to Putski as Putski attends to Rick. Lance: Wow, I'm not sure what kind of alliance Cuban Assassin and Ratamyus have but that was interrupted by Polish Power Ivan Putski. With me right now is the Universal Heartthrob Austin Idol. Idol: Lance baby the toast of the coast is here in TNT and brother I'm ready to do some damage. First name on the hit list is that big dummy Hercules Ayala! Where does that guy get off on using the name Hercules? Just look at my body here. I'm the real deal baby. The other night in El Paso, I rammed that thick head of his into a steel post and brother he's still reeling from that. He felt real power and I wouldn't be surprised if he never shows his ugly face in TNT again! Commercial Break The Soul Patrol (Sweet Brown Sugar and Koko Ware) vs. Rudy Thomas and Vic Hillman The Soul Patrol have the fans standing as they are in full offense tonight. They work their opponents over with solid teamwork and high flying moves. The finish comes when Sugar and Koko hit dual missile drop kicks for the pin! The fans are on their feet cheering as the Soul Patrol pump their fists to them. The Soul Patrol cut a fired up promo and say they're here in TNT to face the best and get their shot. Lance: The tag team division is hot here in TNT and the Soul Patrol is sure adding the heat. When we come back, Jerry the King Lawler will be in action. Commercial Break Jerry 'The King' Lawler vs. Gary Williams Lawler hammers away on Williams with some hard fists then body slams him down. Lawler hops up on the middle ropes and crashes down with a fist drop to get the pin! Lawler raises his fist to the cheering fans and heads over to talk with Lance. Lawler: Lance, on January 23rd, the King gets his golden opportunity with a AWA world title shot. It hurt me more than you could imagine when I lost the TNT title to Bockwinkel in November. But I want to assure all my fans and especially you Hulk Hogan, that I will be more than ready on January 23rd and when it's all said and done the King will be raising that AWA title high in the Mid South Coliseum. You can bet on that! Commercial Break Mando and Chavo Guerrero vs. The Nightmares These two teams have been involved in some fantastic matches on the house shows. Both teams want a shot at the tag titles and a win tonight would put them in a good position. The action is back and forth and keeps the fans on the edge of their seats. The Nightmares control a segment by working Chavo over in the corner. Davis executes a shoulder breaker and Wayne follows with a knee drop on the shoulder from the top rope, they almost get the pin but Mando makes the save. Chavo eventually makes the tag and Mando comes in fists flying. The Guerreros take control and almost get the win with a double back drop followed by a double drop kick but Wayne saves his partner. Later in the match all four men end up brawling but the bell rings as the 10 minute time limit expires! The bell keeps ringing but the teams keep fighting into the commercial break. Commercial Break Lance: Fans as you just witnessed, all the tag teams desperately want a shot at the titles. Well, let's bring in the AWA Southern tag team champs, the Fabulous Ones. The crowd roars as Steve Keirn and Stan Lane come strutting out with the titles. They're all smiles as they walk around slapping hands with the fans when all of a sudden two men hop the rail and attack them from behind! Lance: Wait a minute! That's Dr. D David Shultz and Bruiser Bob Sweetan! What are they doing here? Shultz and Sweetan put the boots to the Fab Ones then take the titles off them and start hammering away on them with the belts. Sweetan then does the unthinkable and piledrives Stan Lane on the concrete!!! Shultz follows that up by piledriving Steve Keirn on the concrete!!! The fans are going into riot mode. Officials and security run out. Shultz and Sweetan hop over the rail and head out through the crowd. The fans are in a shocked silence as both Keirn and Lane are stretchered out of the arena. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, I'm just as shocked as you are after what we all just witnessed. The Fabulous Ones have been taken to a near by hospital for evaluations. I don't know what to say. I didn't even know Bob Sweetan and David Shultz were signed with TNT. We hope to have an update on the Fabulous Ones next week. Before we get to our big TV title bout, here are some pre recorded comments from both Dream Machine and Tommy Rich. Jimmy Hart: Tommy Rich! You're in a lot of trouble tonight. Don't even think you're walking out with that TV title baby, because that title belongs to the Dream Machine baby. Dream Machine: Rich! You don't have the guts to hold that title boy! You're looking at a real man that needs to represent TNT television. Tommy Rich: Did somebody say something about fired up! Because I'm fired up tonight and Dream Machine you're going to feel the wildfire baby! I want that TV title and I'm going to win it here on TNT! Commercial Break For the TNT TV Title Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich vs. Dream Machine w/Jimmy Hart Another rivalry that's been going on at the house shows and it culminates here for the TV Title. The bell rings and Jimmy Hart is distracting Rich and wont leave the ring. This allows Dream Machine to nail Rich from behind. Dream takes control as he swings Rich to the ropes and hits a clothesline then hits a delayed leg drop 1..2..Rich gets his foot on the rope. The Ref is guiding Dream back as Jimmy Hart chokes away on Rich from the outside. Dream stays in control with punches and stomps. The tide turns when Dream comes off the 2nd rope with a knee drop but Rich moves. Rich fires up and takes control. Rich punches away on Dream, swings him to the ropes and back drops him then follows with a running high knee 1..2..Hart puts Dream's foot on the rope. Rich thinks he won but the Ref is explaining what happened. Dream nails Rich from behind with a clothesline. Both men are regrouping. Dream gets up and stomps on Rich then body slams him. Dream drops an elbow 1..2..Kick Out! The crowd roars as Hart is having a breakdown. Dream is yelling at the Ref. Dream picks Rich up and swings him into the turnbuckles and charges in but Rich moves. Once again both men are trying to recover. Jimmy Hart gets up on the apron and cheers Dream on. Dream staggers up and swings Rich to the ropes but Rich reverses it and swings Dream into Hart. Hart fly's off the apron. Rich grabs Dream, swings him to the ropes and hits the Thesz Press 1..2..3!!!! The fans stand up and cheer! Rich rolls out of the ring and slaps hands with the fans then heads towards Lance. Lance: Congratulations Tommy! Please welcome out Jerry Jarrett. Jerry walks out with the TNT TV Title. Jerry: Tommy, it's my privilege to award you with the first TNT TV title. I know you will represent TNT well. Jerry hands Tommy the TV title and shakes his hand. Tommy: Thank you Lance and you to Jerry. I signed with TNT with the goal of being a champion and here I am standing here in front of all these great fans holding the TNT TV title! Tommy Rich will be a fighting champion and Jerry, I will represent TNT well. Lance: Well fans, that's it for our first edition of TNT Wrestling. Steve Stack will be with you next week from the Junction in San Antonio TX. The show ends with Tommy Rich holding up the TV title.

Thanks for commenting and yes you're right. This is basically a What If 1984 Project. What if Hogan became champ and stayed in the AWA? What if Verne and the promoters pulled off a miracle and banded together under the AWA banner to become a wrestling powerhouse promotion. What if the AWA secured the USA and WGN networks. We thought this would be a fun and creative project. Thanks for the feedback and hope to see more

TNT Wrestling @ The Special Events Center, El Paso TX, 1-1-84 'Mr. USA' Tony Atlas vs. Cuban Assassin Cuban Assassin gets in some good heel offense but in the end, Atlas displays his strength by press slamming Assassin and follows with a splash for the pin! Decimation (Mike Shaw and Randy Colley) w/Johnny Valiant vs. Ivan Putski and Rick McGraw Putski and McGraw show off some good chemistry as they keep Decimation off their game. A distraction by Valiant turns the tide. Colley and Shaw hit a double back elbow smash on McGraw and Shaw follows with a big elbow drop for the pin! 'Exotic' Adrian Street w/Miss Linda vs. Cocoa Samoa These two have been having quite the rivalry of late and it shows tonight as they start off brawling as soon as the bell rings. The finish sees Street nail Cocoa with a loaded purse (handed to him by Miss Linda) to get the pin! Mando and Chavo Guerrero vs. The Nightmares Great back and forth tag match as these top contending teams get their shining moments. In the end, all four men are in the ring fighting. The Nightmares swing the Guerreros to the ropes and go for double back drops but Mando kicks Davis and Chavo sunset flips Wayne for the pin! 'The Universal Heartthrob' Austin Idol vs. Hercules Ayala Hard hitting match up between two of the strongest. Ayala gets a flash pin victory! When the Ref raises Ayala's hand, Idol attacks him from behind, throws him outside the ring and rams him head first into the steel post, busting Ayala open! Harley Race vs. Terry Funk Battle of two of the all time greats. Both men display pure scientific skill and all out brawling. The brawling gets the best of them as they brawl to a double DQ! TNT Wrestling Update Part 2 Jerry Jarrett and Joe Blanchard have ironed out all the details and are all set for the television debut of TNT Wrestling on the USA Network. Here's how the TV schedule will work. The shows will alternate weeks between the Roane Fieldhouse in Memphis TN and the Junction in San Antonio TX. Lance Russell will host the shows in Memphis and Steve Stack will host the San Antonio shows. Verne Gagne loved this idea and thinks it will give TNT a broader appeal, which is exactly what he wants for the AWA.The debut show will air on January 4th in Memphis. TNT has big plans for their house show loops as they want to bring their promotion all across the Southern States. Of course their staple venues will be the Mid South Coliseum and Hemisfair Arena. With all this going on, the AWA is also gearing up for their first ESPN super show on January 23rd at the Mid South Coliseum. The main event will be for the AWA World Title as champion Hulk Hogan defends against Jerry 'The King' Lawler. ESPN is very excited to have a main event like this and are confident it will draw in some good ratings. Verne has no doubt this will sell out the Coliseum and knows that will look very good on TV. As mentioned, one man who isn't happy about the main event is current AWA TNT Champ Nick Bockwinkel. However, Nick will defend his title on that night against Wahoo McDaniel. Jarrett and Blanchard have already been meshing their talent on recent house shows. They want to make sure everybody is on the same page before they get to TV. So far, things have been clicking well as the house show matches have been delivering. Mando and Chavo Guerrero and the Nightmares have been putting on fantastic tag team matches. Cocoa Samoa and Adrian Street have had a rivalry going with Miss Linda getting involved more than once. Tony Atlas seems to be very over with the crowds. To the surprise of a lot of people, fans in the arenas have taken a liking to the international team of Billy Robinson and Jumbo Tsruta. Their hard hitting style combined with their pure wrestling skill have impressed the southern crowds. Harley Race and Terry Funk headlined a few shows and drew some big crowds. Tommy Rich and Jimmy Hart's Dream Machine have been involved in some heated contests as they get ready for their big match for the TNT TV title on January 4th. Jarrett and Blanchard are working hard to make sure TNT becomes a driving force for the AWA. Be a part of history as TNT comes to you January 4th on the USA Network.

I'm defiantly still interested in seeing you get to Mania. This has been a fun project to read and I had a great time being involved with it. You guys did a remarkable job and it truly was something special. Props to you, Edger, Gene and Rain for taking it all the way

What a show to kick things off! The AWA works out a deal with Stampede, which will no doubt give wrestling fans around the world non stop action. I love the team of Martel and Hennig and look forward to watching them chase the titles. Some nice competitive TV matches to give the fans an idea of what to expect. Enjoyed that Mr. Electricity/Tommy Rogers match up. The Light Heavyweight division should be pretty exciting. The Harts get over with the AWA fans aligning with Da Crusher. Bundy looks like a beast but falls short against Hogan. This really puts Hogan over as the dominant world champ. Looks like the King will have his hands full in Memphis. Great first show as you did an awesome job of incorporating the Stampede talent. Bad News is already over with the footage of that riot. Big things on the horizon for the AWA in 1984!

TNT Wrestling Update A lot is happening as TNT gears up for its television debut on the USA Network. Jerry Jarrett and Joe Blanchard are ecstatic about their new working relationship with Verne Gagne and the AWA. They are more than confident that their TNT roster will be an exciting addition to the AWA. After his world title loss to Hulk Hogan in April, Nick Bockwinkel rebounded well by defeating Jerry Lawler for the Southern Title. With the formation of TNT, the Southern title will be now known as the AWA TNT Heavyweight Championship. Bockwinkel thought for sure this would guarantee him a world title rematch with Hogan. However, before Bockwinkel defeated Lawler, a deal was made during the AWA merger that Jerry Lawler would get a title match with Hogan in Memphis at the first ESPN super card on Jan. 23rd. Needless to say, Bockwinkel is furious and has been very vocal about this. The AWA committee has assured Bockwinkel that he will get a world title shot in the near future. In the meantime, Bockwinkel should stay focused on his TNT title as Wahoo McDaniel, Austin Idol, Tony Atlas, Terry Funk and Harley Race all want a crack at it. Recently signed Leo Burke and Hercules Ayala are coming in with one goal on their minds...the AWA TNT Championship. All these contenders will keep Bockwinkel very busy. The current AWA Southern tag champs, the Fabulous Ones are ready to take on all comers and they have a long line of contenders including the Nightmares, Guerreros, Mike Shaw and Randy Colley, and the international team of Billy Robinson and Jumbo Tsuruta. TNT is going to put a lot of focus on their tag team division. Another team that's coming in with a lot of buzz is Sweet Brown Sugar and Koko Ware. It's been announced that on TNT's debut show on the USA network, a match between Tommy Rich and the Dream Machine will take place to crown the first TNT Television Champion. TNT is looking forward to having a title defended frequently on TV. Tully Blanchard has already issued a challenge to the winner. Tully says he's the only wrestler in TNT that's worthy to hold that title. And finally, rumors are circulating that Jerry Jarrett and Joe Blanchard have been in serious negotiations with Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody. Hansen and Brody are both huge global stars and this would be a major coup for TNT and the AWA. Stay tuned!

Nice NJ house show with Flair/Santana and Hogan/Dr. D. Never get tired of Flair and Santana going at it. Looks like Dr. D isn't done with Hogan after all as he sends a message at the expense of Hillbilly Jim. Good tag team showcases tonight. I like this version of the Nasty Boys. Showing off their toughness with less comedy. Rougeaus are looking strong. Sting and Davey Boy are all kinds of excitement. The Horsemen once again cut classic promos. Main Event 3 is a must see. Fun TV main event as the Russians get a strong win over the Rockers. Good ol Hacksaw and the 2x4 save the day once again.

LOL, love the Garvin/Embry reunion. Brings back great Texas memories. Nikita Koloff and Devastation Inc. continues to cause havoc but oh man Stan Hansen comes in to even things up! I cant imagine a Koloff/Hansen feud, WOW! The tag team scene is off the charts. Ladd walking out on the Fab Ones makes things even more interesting. Looks like The Moscow Machines are creeping up the ranks as well. Reed is back on the singles track. Only a matter of time before he's holding gold. Agree with the Bundy/Luger pairing, so random but works LOL. Things are going up a level in the UWF!

Man JCP is on fire! Lot's of great action as everybody wants the spotlight. I think Koloff might regret walking out on Brown. Speaking of Koloff, him and Ole get a huge win over the Stud Stable. Mark Youngblood is on the roll of a lifetime right now. He might be in line for a US title match. Dibiase vs. Orndorff on TV!!!! Wow that's going to be epic. I was heading towards those two so I'm really excited that your doing it. Johnny V has his boys fired up. Even Johnny saw some action. I'm liking Cooley's new aggression. Greg Gagne seems to be having a career rejuvenation in JCP. Good to see the Professor is doing well as he gets a C.O. win over Kerry. Kerry got payback on the Flame. LOL, poor Kernodle gets his flag torn by DJ. Loving these battlebowl matches. I agree that having JJ will only elevate Prichard. All this and vacant titles to be filled. JCP is riding high.
