  1. Squash matches are the way to get monsters over. This is working for Humungous. AWWWWW poor Boogie Woogie Man. Looks like Terri has stolen his heart and broke it. Reed, Simmons and Atlas! Damn, that's one put together stable. Piper and Funk together with mics can never be bad. Funk gives one epic promo but it's ruined by that egg suck'n dawg and jackass Dusty Rhodes LOL. Their match at WrestleCade is going to be insane. The Latin Connection pull it off in fitting fashion. Oh man, the SST were put over strong tonight. Williams and Dibiase better be ready. Great job writing up the battle royal. Very easy to follow. I can't believe Funk and Rhodes managed to get even more heat. I thought Tully was going to win it but we get a happy ending with Luger bowing out for the greater good. WrestleCade could be Sting's big moment. Although, I have a feeling something big is coming with the Horsemen. They always have a plan. Bring on WrestleCade!
  2. AWA releases Tom Magee AWA picks up Sivi Afi
  3. I agree with AD, Tojo and Dundee must've took a crazy beating. I always liked it when a show would start off by announcing a title change at a house show. Immediate excitement. Why do I have a feeling Bass is going to be a little rough on Tony's students. LOL! And just like that Morton and Bruno's epic title reign ends. I can't imagine what's going through Reno's mind. Fun show!
  4. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 12-15-88 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. SuperClash 3 is right around the corner and tonight I'll be talking to both Terry Gordy and Kerry Von Erich. Paul Orndorff will be in action as well as Tatsumi Fujinami. As you all know, next week in Fort Wayne, the pre clash tag team battle royal will take place, with the winners getting a National tag team title shot at SuperClash. You'll see a lot of tag teams in action tonight including the San Juan Saints taking on Coast to Coast. El Canek will be in a bounty match against an individual personally called by Greg Gagne. I've been told that man is The Mega Man, Tom Magee. And at the end of the program there will be a special music video showcasing both Jumbo Tsuruta and AWA World Champ Nikita Koloff. Alright, lets get to the ring. 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Neil Jordan Brandi excites the fans with his high octane offense and wins the match with a flying body press from the top rope. Nelson: Tom Brandi, come on over here. You have been on one incredible undefeated streak since arriving to the AWA. People are calling you a real blue chipper. However, you have a huge task ahead at SuperClash when you face Sgt. Slaughter. He has handpicked you specifically. Brandi: You know I heard Slaughter out here saying he picked me because I'm a weak and soft in the gut. Let me tell you something Slaughter, you made a big mistake choosing me. I've worked hard to get where I am and I'm not about to be bullied by a big mouth like you. At SuperClash you're going to regret picking me. Commercial Break The Olympians vs. Marvin Jones and Louis Moore The Olympians return after a tour of Japan. Rheingans hits a gut wrench suplex on Moore and Patera follows with a swinging full nelson for the win. Olympians cut a promo and say they know they disappointed their legions of supporters by not being in the tag team tournament but vowed to win the pre clash battle royal in the name of sportsmanship. Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer vs. Harold Bannister Sawyer destroys his opponent before finishing him off with a powerslam. Sawyer isn't finished as he goes out and gets his chain. Sawyer starts choking Bannister with his chain. The fans go nuts as Carlos Colon hits the ring and pounds away on Sawyer. Colon swings Sawyer to the ropes and back drops him. Colon picks up the chain. Sawyer staggers up as Colon clotheslines him over the top rope with the chain! The fans cheer as Colon swings the chain around. Commercial Break Nelson: Unbelievable! Carlos Colon is back and I'll tell you what, he looks more than ready for his chain match with Sawyer at SuperClash. Well, speaking of SuperClash, please welcome out Gary Young, the Mean Machine (Rip Oliver and Mike Miller) and of course the Dream Machine. Dream yanks the mic from Nelson. Dream: Everybody's talking about SuperClash and everybody knows that the biggest comeback of 1988 will happen there. I'm talking about my in ring return babay! But, before that, my boys the Mean Machine are going to win the pre clash tag team battle royal and then they're whip those cowgirls and take the National tag titles. That's right babay, SuperClash is going to be an epic night for Dream's Team. Myself and my main man Gary Young are going to finally put Ms. Olympia out of wrestling and teach that fabulous jerk Steve Keirn a lesson he'll never forget. Oh and if that punchy Ron Lyle gets in my face, I'm going to knock him right out! Dream pushes the mic in Nelson's chest and leads his men out. Gary Young bumps Nelson on his way out. We then get some quick comments from all the celebrities appearing at SuperClash including Donna Sommer, Ron Lyle and Raquel Welch. Commercial Break The San Juan Saints vs. Coast to Coast Both teams will be in the Pre Clash battle royal and they're looking to get some serious momentum with a win tonight. The teams go back and forth at a fever pace. Both teams are in sync and on their A game as they display top notch tag team unity. Just as things kicked into a higher gear, the bell rings, signaling a 10 minute draw. The teams have an intense showdown followed by a pushing match, and then the fists start flying as the commercial hits. Commercial Break Tatsumi 'The Dragon' Fujinami vs. Randall Ward Fujinami puts on a wrestling showcase and wins the match with his Dragon Suplex. Nelson: Another impressive win for Tatsumi Fujinami. At SuperClash, he'll be taking on the debuting Big Van Vader. Let's take a look at some highlights of Vader from Japan. We see highlights from Japan as Big Van Vader destroys his opponents with devastating power moves. Commercial Break The Glamour Boys w/Lanny Poffo vs. Todd Rooney and Ray Glader Poffo and the Glamour Boys are in full 80s Glam Rock mode as they enter the ring to Poison's I want action tonight. Poffo skips around the ring and applauds as the Glamour Boys hit the Wham Bam Thank You Maam for the win. Poffo and the Glamour Boys cut a promo and say they're going to wipe out every team in the battle royal and then take the National tag titles at SuperClash because the AWA needs cool champions like us. Commercial Break 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff vs. Vic Dutro The fans are up and cheering as Orndorff hits the piledriver for the win. Orndorff gets up but WHAM! From behind Larry Zbyszko nails Orndorff on the back of his head with the Mid American title! Zbyszko casually walks to ringside. Nelson: Larry Zbyszko, I can't... Zbyszko: Shut up Spudhead! (Looks back at the laid out Orndorff) Welcome to Larry Land Mr. Blunderful! You know Nelson, Paul Orndorff has got to be the stupidest man in wrestling. When he wakes up, tell him I'll see him at SuperClash. Zbyszko walks off. Nelson: Yea, it takes a real man to hit someone from behind...again. We'll see what happens when he's face to face with Paul Orndorff at SuperClash. If Zbyszko tries any of his cowardly antics like what we just saw at SuperClash, well, he'll lose his precious title. Commercial Break Bounty Match El Canek vs. 'The Mega Man' Tom Magee Canek waits in the ring. Magee comes down the aisle and looks like a million bucks. He goes to the top turnbuckle and back flips into the ring. He turns around and Canek clotheslines him down. Canek picks Magee up and delivers a snap suplex. Canek picks up Magee and hits a backbreaker. Canek goes to the top rope and crashes down with a flying leg drop. Canek rolls Magee over and clamps on the Boston Crab. Canek wrenches away, Magee submits and the Ref signals for the bell. Canek jumps up and holds his arms in victory. Canek looks down at Magee, then helps him up. Magee gets his breath back and shakes Canek's hand, then starts apologizing to him. Canek pats him on the back and helps him out. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, at SuperClash 3, Terry Gordy and Kerry Von Erich will settle things inside of a steel cage. My guest at this time is Terry Gordy. Freebird blasts on the speakers as Gordy makes his way out wearing jeans and a T Shirt. WHAM! Kerry Von Erich tackles him down! Kerry and Gordy roll around punching each other. They get up and continue to fight. They end up tearing each other's shirts off as fists keep flying. Prelim wrestlers come out but they get thrown and hurled everywhere. More wrestlers, officials and security storm out. They pull them apart but Kerry and Gordy manage to break free and continue to punch away at each other. Another chaotic scene between these two! Commercial Break Brenda Britton is standing with AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow Britton: Wow Gerry, things are really heating up for SuperClash. Morrow: AHHHHHHH Brenda, they sure are and I love every minute of it. I mean at SuperClash 3 de fans will see a Bunkhouse match, a chain match and a steel cage match. It will be wild. And do not forget dat all 5 AWA titles will be on de line. An epic and exciting way to end de year 1988. Next week we will have a special SuperClash preview show. Also, as a gift to our AWA fans, de pre clash tag team battle royal will be shown on TV. Consider dat a Christmas gift from me. Britton: Oh Gerry, you are the best gift giver ever. Morrow: Thank you Brenda. Now, at SuperClash, Nikita Koloff will defend de AWA world title against Jumbo Tsuruta. Let us all enjoy a special video showcasing both men. Def Leppard's Rock Rock Til You Drop plays as we see several great moments and moves from Nikita Koloff and Jumbo Tsuruta.
  5. Once again, these vignettes are so cool. I've always loved using vignettes as a way of introducing wrestlers. I just can't seem to capture the full vision like you can. However, you've inspired me to keep trying
  6. AWA Report With SuperClash only 3 weeks away the AWA is in full advertisement mode. The celebrities involved have been having a lot of fun and have cut several commercial promos. Donna Sommer hyped the event from a recording studio and said she's tuned up and ready to sing the National Anthem. Ron Lyle spoke from a boxing gym and says he's going to make sure things don't get out of control in the tag team grudge match. And Raquel Welch spoke from the pool of her beautiful home, saying she was excited to be a part of the extravaganza. Another place giving SuperClash a lot of coverage is Japan. Jumbo Tsuruta is all over magazine covers and says he's going to win the world title for Japan. Another match getting a lot of Japanese coverage is Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Big Van Vader. Tatsumi is a hero in Japan while Vader has become a hot commodity over there. At the beginning of 1988, Verne Gagne was very skeptical in changing the direction of the AWA but couldn't be more pleased on how things have turned out. Profits spoke volumes and with those profits, the AWA was able to update their look, bring in celebrity guests and of course sign big names in wrestling. Verne has invested a lot of money into SuperClash 3 and is more than confident it will pay off. See previous post for all matches booked
  7. AWA releases Mongolian Stomper and Norvell Austin AWA picks up Tom Magee
  8. Total 80s WWF. I missed those side bar promos during a match. SNME is heating up. This will be a great stop towards the Royal Rumble. I can only imagine the chaos in the Savage/Andre match. And with Hogan there, you never know what'll happen. The seeds have been planted and things are being mentioned in promos. Demolition vs. The Rockers must happen. 1989 will be a great year for the WWF. Get well soon brother!
  9. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 12-8-88 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Tonight, you will see 3 gigantic 6-man tag matches. Jumbo Tsuruta will be in action as well as the AWA World tag champs the Guerreros, DJ Peterson, the Fantastics, and AWA Mid American Champ Larry Zbyszko. We'll hear from Kerry Von Erich, Carlos Colon and the AWA world champion Nikita Koloff. We'll also have some major news regarding a huge celebrity at SuperClash 3. Ok, let's get to the ring. Jumbo Tsuruta w/Ray Stevens vs. Carl Kellerman Jumbo totally decimates his opponent before finishing him off with a devastating lariat for the win. Nelson: Ray Stevens, your man Jumbo Tsuruta is just 3 weeks away from his AWA world title shot with Nikita Koloff at SuperClash 3. Stevens: At WrestleRock I shocked the world by debuting Jumbo Tsuruta as my client. Since then, I have brought out his full potential and the man has been an unstoppable bone breaking human wrecking machine. Now is Jumbo's time and at SuperClash 3 he's going destroy, obliterate, dismantle and defeat Nikita Koloff for the AWA world title. It's as simple as that! Commercial Break 'The British Bomber' Dave Taylor and The Rose Cousins vs. 'Diamond' Timothy Flowers and The Wild Ones A lot of intense action as both sides go at hard. Taylor finally gets his hands on Flowers and tags him with several stiff European uppercuts. The Rose's have fun as they pinball the Rich's all over the ring. It doesn't take long for all 6 men to get in there and we've got a pier six brawl going on. Taylor knocks Flowers out of the ring. The Rose's stereo back drop both Rich's. The Ref is guiding the Rose's back to their corner. Taylor swings off the ropes but WHAM! Flowers (from the apron) nails Taylor's back with a chair. Taylor falls forward as Johnny Rich cradles him. The Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! BOOOOOOO! Commercial Break We come back and see Greg Gagne doing his physical therapy. He stops and towels off. Gagne: (laughs) Well, it seems that masked moron El Canek has survived another challenge. I'm not worried. I'm the great Gagne and I always have a plan. I have raised the bounty to 300,000 dollars. Then I made a phone call. Next week this man will finally rid the AWA of El Canek. He's young, incredibly athletic and has superman strength. After he disposes of the Masked Moron, I will happily pay him the money and it will be money well spent. Now if you all don't mind, I need to get back to my therapy. In other words, get lost! Commercial Break The Fantastics vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez The Fantatsics excite the fans and win the match with the Rocket Launcher. Fantastics cut a promo and say they're in sync more than ever. They won the Tag Team Tournament and can't wait to face the Guerreros for the World Tag Team Titles at SuperClash. Nelson: Fans, as you just saw, the tag team competition is at an all time high in the AWA. Right now, all the teams are gearing up for the Pre Clash battle royal on December 23rd in Fort Wayne. The winners will receive a shot at the National tag titles at SuperClash. Commercial Break AWA Mid American Champ Larry Zbyszko vs. Sam Smith Zbyszko is as arrogant as ever and wins the match with a swinging neckbreaker. Nelson: Larry, you have a tall order ahead at SuperClash. You'll be defending your Mid American title against Paul Orndorff and if you get DQed or Counted Out, you will indeed lose your title. Zbyszko: (gives Nelson a distained look) You know Nelson, whatever it is the AWA is paying you, it's too much. Hey, I'm not worried at all. I've knocked out that spudhead Orndorff twice already. Gerry Morrow put that stipulation in because he doesn't want to hear that crybaby Orndorff complain anymore. At SuperClash I'm going to shut that baby's mouth once and for all. And Gerry, keep that champagne nice and chilled because we're going to have a wonderful toast. Commercial Break Iceman Parsons and The Bruisers vs. Black Bart and The Mean Machine w/Dream Machine Parsons is all over Bart as he dropkicks him through the ropes. Mean Machine run in the ring, but the Bruisers pound away on them and stereo clothesline them over the top rope. Dream goes to regroup his men. The Ref gets order and the next few minutes is a roller coaster ride of back and forth brawling. Dream gets in a lot of cheap shots. After a few more minutes Busick slams Oliver down and swings off the ropes but Dream reaches in and trips Busick. Strong hops down and chases Dream Machine around the ring. Gary Young runs out and hits Strong. The fans cheer as Steve Keirn and Mr. Olympia run out and pound away on Young and Dream. Mike Miller and Steve Strong trade fists. Busick and Oliver hammer away on each other. Parsons and Bart fight to the back. Its nothing but chaos as the Ref calls for the bell, ruling it a NO CONTEST. Commercial Break We come back and see Carlos Colon sitting at home. Colon: (voice still raspy) Carribean Death match, WarGames and countless battles. I thought my war with Buzz Sawyer was over but I thought wrong. Buzz Sawyer, you asked for a chain match at SuperClash and I accepted. At SuperClash, our war ends and I will be the winner. Commercial Break AWA World Tag Team Champs The Guerreros vs. Clyde Putnam and Todd Rooney The Guerreros look better than ever and win the match when Chavo swings Rooney to the ropes and hits him in the mid section as Hector follows with a sunset flip from the top rope for the pin. Nelson puts over the Guerreros SuperClash match with the Fantastics as a dream match. The Guerreros agree and say their excited to be defending their titles against a worthy team like the Fantastics. The fans cheer as the Guerreros hold their titles high. Commercial Break 'Dynamite' DJ Peterson vs. Ray Glader DJ's on fire tonight and wins the match with a diving shoulder block from the top rope! Nelson: DJ, come on over. You won the gauntlet match and earned yourself a TV title shot at SuperClash. Now is a great time to announce that the special guest ring announcer for that TV title bout will be none other than superstar celebrity Raquel Welch. My hats off to the AWA. This is huge news and I'm very excited to see Raquel Welch at SuperClash. DJ, what do you think of that? DJ: (smiles) Raquel Welch is one of my all time favorite actresses. It's a huge opportunity for me to get a chance at the TV title and having Raquel Welch there makes it all the more special. Nelson: No doubt about that. Ok, we have comments from Brian Adias and I would like you to stick around for them. Brian is standing on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He's wearing a pink tank top, white jacket and sunglasses. The TV title is on his shoulder. Adias: (takes off his sunglasses) My future is so bright I gotta wear shades. I'm sure you all heard who I got as my special ring announcer for SuperClash. Oh yea, the one and only Raquel Welch. Raquel and I are in negotiations to star in a movie together. I asked if she wanted to do this and she jumped at the chance. Loni Anderson, if you're out there, don't be jealous baby. Everybody wants a piece of Blockbuster Brian Adias. NOW! I've been informed that I'll be defending MY TV title against, um, wait a second, oh yes, DJ Peterson. (Laughs) You know, I was hoping my match at SuperClash would be like an action movie but now it looks more like a comedy. DJ Peterson? Are you kidding me! DJ, let me explain something to you. I'm an above the title actor, you're what we call in the business, an uncredited extra. In other words, you're a nobody and I'm the star. This is disappointing, it really is. Well, the good thing is the fans will get to see a blockbuster, Blockbuster Brian Adias, that's me. Back Live Nelson: (rolls his eyes) Well DJ, care to comment? DJ: Brian Adias is arrogant and conceited jackass. He can take me lightly, that's fine. At SuperClash, the world is going to find out that Brian Adias isn't a blockbuster, he's a flop! Commercial Break Kokina and The Singhs vs. Crusher Blackwell and Venomous The first few minutes is Venomous working the Singhs over with some high octane offense. Singhs come back with some vicious rulebreaking and inflict some torture. Kat gets worked over but finally makes the tag to Blackwell as Gama tags in Kokina. The fans are up and cheering as Blackwell and Kokina have a stand off, then blast away on each other with heavy hits. Blackwell starts to get the upper hand. The Singhs run in but Venomous are on them. The Ref is distracted when BUZZ SAWYER hits the ring and clotheslines Kat with the chain. Sawyer takes off. Blackwell double clotheslines the Singhs as Kokina hits a big splash on Kat. Kat isn't the legal man but the Ref is confused and makes the count 1..2..3! Kokina stands up and turns around as Blackwell knocks him through the ropes with a shoulder block! This gets a big pop. Commercial Break Nelson: Wow! Buzz Sawyer is out of control with his chain. My goodness did you see what Blackwell did to Kokina. I can't imagine what it will be like at SuperClash when those two monsters meet. Speaking of SuperClash, please welcome out the Modern Day Warrior, Kerry Von Erich! The fans erupt as Tom Sawyer by Rush plays. Kerry comes out and slaps hands with the men and gets hugs from the ladies. Nelson: Ok, Kerry, it's you and Terry Gordy, in the steel cage at SuperClash. There's a commotion as Terry Gordy storms out. All the officials, security and prelim wrestlers come out as Kerry and Gordy charge each other. Bodies are everywhere trying to keep them separated. Nelson: This scene is nothing but utter chaos! The show cuts to Nikita Koloff lifting weights in his Russian Dungeon. He stops and looks into the camera. Nikita: Ray Stevens, you talk and talk about how Jumbo Tsuruta is going to destroy me at SuperClash. Nikita not intimidated one bit! Nikita fights anybody and fears nobody! Jumbo Tsuruta is in for a nightmare at SuperClash, a Russian Nightmare! Nikita sticks his tongue out and does a trap pose.
  10. After a tremendous 1988 for the NWA, you my friend, have earned a well deserved vacation. I liked this magazine format. Keeps us updated and gears us up for next year. Day one will no doubt set the tone for 1989. I'm already looking forward to the "Nature Boy", the Eliminators, Wahoo's quest for one last title run and who will be the first to challenge Garvin. Oh and I'm glad we're going to get more of Perez vs. Sawyer. I have really enjoyed this feud. 1989 is going to ROCK!
  11. The Russians are coming! The UWF is making a huge investment here and with all the hype, I'm really hope it pays off. If Maeda is confident, then I would be too. The TV deal is a smart move. If you want the national exposure, you have to have TV. Backlund is pretty damn confident but in this environment I guess you have to be. This is going to be interesting. Maeda has serious momentum going with the UWF and he's snowballing it all the way. The man has a vision.
  12. 13. If you're looking for a high flying team, Zenk and Koko definitely fit the bill. Did Brutus throw out a rooster reference? Hahahahaha Only a matter of time before the Rockers and Demolition collide. Warrior gives the Ultimate promo but can he withstand the ghetto blaster? Davey Boy going solo? Yea, I can see that. I like the feud being set up between the Heenan Family and Ex members. Very creative. Fun main event. Oh man is right, the Hillbillies are coming LOL.
  14. Yes! The PCW vignettes are back. These are such a great way to introduce characters.
  15. I liked AD's different path he took with the Horsemen and now the intrigue continues in WCW. I could see this going either way. You just never know with the Horsemen LOL. Props to you for setting up both the Clash and WrestleCade. I remember WCW used to present a Clash to set up the next pay per view and you've captured this well. Why do I have a feeling the upcoming Piper's Pit is going to go off the rails. WCW is ending 1988 with an epic bang.
  16. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 12-1-88 Highlights are shown from Bloomington as the Fantastics win the tag team tournament to earn a world tag team title shot at SuperClash 3. Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Tremendous show lined up. The Gunslingers will defend their newly won National tag titles against the former champs, Badd Company. Iceman Parsons goes one on one with Black Bart. In a special challenge match, El Canek takes on the Mongolian Stomper. Kerry Von Erich and Terry Gordy will be in action. And you will see footage of the SuperClash 3 AWA world title press conference. All that and more, so let's get to the ring. Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy vs. Walter Pinkman Total squash for Gordy as he wins the match with a rugged Oklahoma Stampede, Nelson: Saturday December 30th at the McNichols Arena in Denver, the AWA will present SuperClash 3. One of the big matches signed will be Kerry Von Erich vs. this man, Terry Gordy inside a steel cage. Terry, you arrived on the scene at Brawls in St. Paul and right off the bat targeted Kerry. Since then, you guys have fought in parking lots and dressing rooms. How do you feel about the steel cage? And don't forget Kerry got the winning fall in WarGames. Gordy: WarGames? That's nothing! He had 4 other guys with him. At SuperClash, its just you and me Von Erich! You hear me boy! You might've survived WarGames but you won't survive me. I came here for one reason and that's to give you the beating of your life Von Erich! At SuperClash I'm going to get that job done. But you know what Nelson? Maybe I won't wait until SuperClash. Von Erich! You better have eyes in the back of your head boy! Commercial Break 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Carl Kellerman Brandi once again excites the crowd and gets the win with a missile dropkick. Nelson comments that Brandi is still undefeated in the AWA. Commercial Break Iceman Parsons vs. Black Bart This started when Bart interfered and costed Parsons his chance at the TV title. After some heated promos, this match was signed. The bell rings and these guys hammer away on each other. The Ref tries to break them up but both men punch him down. Parsons and Bart keep fighting. The Ref staggers up and signals for the bell, ruling it a double DQ. Parsons knocks Bart through the ropes. Bart staggers around and grabs his cowbell. Parsons is telling Bart to get in the ring. Bart yells up at Parsons then goes over and snatches the microphone. Bart: Hey Parsons! Since you think you're such a tough guy, why don't we have ourselves a real brawl. You and me at SuperClash in a bunkhouse match. That way I can kick your dug gum teeth down your dug gum throat! Parsons grabs the announcer's mic. Parsons: Well, hey, I've been in plenty of street fights, so that works for me. You're going to seriously regret this you rooty poo! Parsons does a little dance while Bart gets pissed and swings his cowbell around. Commercial Break Crusher Blackwell vs. Neil Jordan Blackwell hits an avalanche in the corner. Jordan staggers out and goes down on his back. Blackwell hits the big splash and it's all over. Blackwell cuts a promo and tells Kokina that at SuperClash he's going to show him why he's the baddest big man in the AWA. Commercial Break Nelson: You saw at the top of the program that it was the Fantastics winning the tag team tournament. Their reward will be a world tag team title shot versus the Guerreros at SuperClash. Speaking of tag teams, next up for them will be the annual pre clash tag team battle royal. The winners will receive a National tag team title shot at SuperClash. That takes place on Saturday December 23rd. Let's take a look at one of the teams participating. The San Juan Saints vs. Sam Smith and Ray Glader The Saints come out in their Puerto Rican flag themed pants and matching gold medallions. They're impressive and win the match with a double suplex followed by stereo elbow drops. Commercial Break Special Challenge Match- NO DQ El Canek vs. The Mongolian Stomper 2 weeks ago, Stomper thought he put Canek out of wrestling and was going to be 250,000 dollars richer. Greg Gagne sent the check last week but before Stomper could collect. Canek stormed out with fists flying. Canek issued this challenge and Stomper wants to collect the bounty money. The bell rings and these guys proceed to fight inside and outside the ring. Stomper gains the advantage and goes to work on Canek's back. Stomper slams Canek outside on the concrete then just stomps away. Stomper grabs a cable and chokes Canek with it. The fans cheer as Canek starts to rise. Stomper is on Canek's back, choking him with the cable. Canek uses all his strength, rises up and back pedals Stomper into the steel post. Canek regroups. Stomper staggers up and charges but Canek clotheslines him with the cable! Canek starts choking Stomper with the cable. Canek wrenches away as Stomper spits up. Canek releases Stomper, picks him up and slams him down on the concrete. Canek picks up Stomper and slams him down again on the concrete. Canek hops on the apron and crashes down with a leg drop on Stomper! Canek goes on the apron again and comes down with another leg drop. The Ref sees enough and stops the match. Canek picks up Stomper and swings him into the steel post. I believe that was a message to Greg Gagne. Canek looks down at Stomper, then walks away. Commercial Break 'The Fortunate One' Gary Young w/Dream Machine vs. Harold Bannister Dream cheers as Young gets the win with the tornado DDT. Nelson: Ok, I understand the Dream Machine has a very special announcement to make. Dream: Damn right I do! This is big news Babay! I want everybody to listen up. Especially you Mr. Olympia and you too Steve Keirn. It's been way to long since the Dream Machine has been in the ring. Well, the Dream Machine will make his triumphant return at SuperClash 3. That's right babay! It's going to be the Fortunate One Gary Young and myself teaming up to take on those losers Olympia and Keirn. Mr. Olympia! My man Gary Young has beaten you up to many times to count and at SuperClash, he's going to beat you up some more. As for you Steve Keirn. You wanted to stick your nose in our business, well now you're going to pay and pay dearly. Young: SuperClash is going to be a dream come true for me. I mean how fortunate am I to be able to team up with my hero and mentor, the Dream Machine. Those two morons don't stand a chance. Dream: That's right babay! Commercial Break 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff vs. Trent Watkins Orndorff's pumped up tonight and wins the match with the piledriver! Nelson: Mr. Wonderful, it was made official last week by the C.O.O. Gerry Morrow. Larry Zbyszko will defend the AWA Mid America Title against you at SuperClash. However, if Zbyszko gets disqualified or counted out, he will in fact lose the title. Orndorff: I have to give our C.O.O. credit, he made the right call. Larry Zbyszko, we all know you're a proven coward. You've hit me with your title belt not once but twice. So, I have to wonder, what is a coward like you going to do with no coward's way out? And to our AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow, I would hold off on that toast you promised the coward. Go ahead and save it for me because at SuperClash I'm going to piledrive that coward's head through the mat and walk out of the McNichols arena with the AWA Mid America Title. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans coming out now is Sgt. Slaughter. Massive boos as Slaughter comes out in full military gear. He gives a distain look at the fans then at Nelson. Slaughter: Stand at attention maggot and that's an order! Nelson: Last week Gerry Morrow gave you permission to choose your opponent for SuperClash 3. I understand you've made a decision. Slaughter: Yes I have! I look around at these pukes and it makes me sick. These people are the reason why this country has become weak! The person I've handpicked as my SuperClash opponent is exactly the kind of person I'm talking about. My opponent will be that punk Tom Brandi. Nelson: Tom Brandi is a tremendous talent. He's yet to be defeated in the AWA and has been called a real blue chipper. Why him? Slaughter: Because Tom Brandi is just like all of these pukes out here. He's nothing but a long haired hippy pretty boy. He's weak and lacks guts. He's soft, young and dumb. The AWA needs to be cleaned up and at SuperClash I'm going to make an example of Tom Brandi. I want the world to see what I do to him. And especially you Nikita Koloff. Because when I'm done exterminating that puke, you're next you lowlife commie! (looks at Nelson) You're dismissed! Commercial Break 'The Modern Day Warrior' Kerry Von Erich vs. Neil Jordan The fans roar as Kerry puts Jordan down with the discus punch for the win. Nelson: I've been told that Terry Gordy has been escorted off the premises. Kerry, you will get your chance at SuperClash inside the steel cage. Kerry: Hey, nobody has to escort Gordy anywhere. Anytime you want to fight Gordy, I'm here and I'm ready! All you've talked about is how you're going to beat me up. Well guess what? You've tried a few times and I'm still here and I still want more. At SuperClash, we're both going in that cage but trust me, I'm the only one walking out. Commercial Break AWA National Tag Team Title Bout The Gunslingers (C) vs. Badd Co. w/Baby Doll Baby Doll distracts the Gunslingers as the bell rings, which allows Badd Co to attack. Baby Doll exits as Badd Co work over the Gunslingers. Badd Co swing Mantell to the ropes and put him down with a double back elbow smash. Badd Co pick up Casey and deliver a double suplex. The Ref gets some order. Tanaka works over Casey and puts him down with a karate kick, then tags in Diamond. The Gunslingers are still your National tag team champs. Next week I understand we're going to have a message from Greg Gagne. I've also been told that Carlos Colon has accepted the chain match challenge from Buzz Sawyer and we will hear from Carlos next week. Ok, before the program ends we're going to show you footage from the AWA SuperClash 3 world title match press conference. Let's take you there now. The Press Conference is held at the Oxford Hotel in Denver There's a long table with a podium in the middle. A big SuperClash 3 banner is hanging in the background. On one side is Nikita Koloff wearing a white suit with the world title sitting in front of him. On the other side is Ray Stevens wearing a brown suit and Jumbo Tsuruta wearing a black suit, white shirt and black tie. AWA C.O.O Gerry Morrow and Brenda Britton along with Verne Gagne and other AWA representatives are standing in the back. Several reporters are taking pictures. Here's some comments that were made. Ray Stevens: Jumbo Tsuruta is a human wrecking machine. This man is an icon in Japan and his accomplishments there are unprecedented and uncontested. Here in the states he's a former world tag team holder and Crockett Cup winner along with several regional titles to his credit. There's only one goal left and that's the AWA world title. Jumbo has reached the highest peak and his talents are now on full throttle. Nikita Koloff, you're the only obstacle in his way and trust me and SuperClash 3, Jumbo Tsuruta is going to bulldoze and steamroll his way over you and get what's rightfully his, the AWA world title. Nikita: Let me make something very clear to both Ray Stevens and Jumbo Tsuruta. Nikita Koloff is no push over. Nkita Koloff lay down for nobody and nobody steamrolls over Nikita. I win this title and fight everybody and nobody can beat Nikita. I respect Jumbo Tsuruta but he will fall just like the others. After the press conference, Nikita and Jumbo pose for pictures, It's intense but no fists are thrown. On the way out, Jumbo stares at Nikita, then punches a hole through the table.
  17. LOL! I love how RPG perked up when Bert was talking about Thanksgiving food. Hmmmm, I'm also curious on why the Nightmares snubbed the Renestos. I do think this is the perfect place for the Nightmares. Champ Michaels looks good but he's got a variety of opponents vying for a shot. DJ's pissed and I think there's a gimmick match coming soon. Nightmares start and end the show on a high note.
  18. I agree with Kev. This has been very informative and has helped me get a better understanding of the UWF. I'm looking forward to Backlund and the Russians coming in. Maeda is really putting something special together.
  19. AWA @ The Met Center, Bloomington MN 11-25-88 Tag Team Tournament-Winners get an AWA World Tag Team Title shot at SuperClash 3 First Round The Fantastics vs. The Glamour Boys Lanny Poffo is booked elsewhere tonight. The night starts with a bang as the Fantastics and Glamour Boys put on a tag team masterpiece. Both teams take turns showing off incredible teamwork. The match is fast paced and exciting. It's a see saw roller coaster ride that keeps the fans on the edge of their seats. The announcer informs the fans, there's only one minute left. As the clock ticks, both teams end up in a pier six brawl. With 10 seconds left, Doll swings Rogers into the turnbuckles, but Rogers hops on the turnbuckles and comes back with a reverse press on Doll 1..2..3! Fantastics win with just one second left! Winners of the match- The Fantastics Venomous vs. Gama and Tiger Jeet Singh Former National champs Venomous want another chance at some gold. However, recently the Singhs have targeted them and vow Venomous will not advance. Venomous use their speed and quickness while the Singhs break every rule in the book. Venomous impress the crowd with their high octane offense. The Singhs get the heat with their brutal and vicious style. Venomous have things going their way as Kat goes to the top rope, but Gama (from the apron) runs over and pushes Kat off. Cobra runs in but the Ref guides him back. This allows the Singhs to hit a double rib breaker on Kat. Tiger covers as the Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! Winners of the match- The Singhs The Bruisers vs. The Mean Machine Dream Machine is booked elsewhere tonight. Mike Miller and Rip Oliver recently joined forces and aligned with Dream Machine. For some reason they had a problem with the Bruisers and attacked them. Bruisers said they're going to get payback tonight. This one is hard hitting and stiff from the start. Both teams beat the hell out of each other while the Ref has a difficult job keeping order. As the match goes on, things get more out of control. Finally, the Ref has no choice but to disqualify both teams. The bell keeps ringing but the fists keep flying. Official Ruling- A double disqualification The Rose Cousins vs. The Wild Ones Yet another grudge match in the opening round. These teams have been battling all over the loop and recently the Rose's scored a televised win over the Rich's. The Rich's weren't going to forget. The fans get a good old fashion southern fight. These teams are so evenly matched as the match goes back and forth. Both teams fight but also show off some impressive tag team skills. Things get hard hitting as both Randy Rose and Davey Rich get color. While Pat is working over Johnny, Davey runs in but gets dropkicked back to his corner by Randy. Davey pulls out a pair of brass knuckles. As Pat hoists Johnny up for a suplex, Davey runs over and nails Pat on the back of his head. Johnny falls on top as the Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! Due to the earlier double DQ, the Wild Ones advance to the finals. Winners of the Match- The Wild Ones Semi-Finals The Fantastics vs. Gama and Tiger Jeet Singh Another contrast of styles match up. The Fantastics put their experience, speed and quickness to good use as they control the opening minutes. The Singhs turn things around, when Tiger (from the apron) nails Fulton with a knee to the back. The Singhs take turns battering and pummeling Fulton. Fulton stays alive and manages to finally tag in Rogers. Rogers cleans house for awhile but the Singhs come back with a vengeance and work Rogers over pretty bad. Rogers somehow survives and finally tags in Fulton. Fulton's on fire as he takes it to Gama. On the outside, Tiger gets his sword and gets on the apron. Gama rakes Fulton's eyes and swings him towards Tiger. Tiger has his sword up but Fulton reverses things and swings Gama into Tiger's sword. Tiger falls off the apron as Fulton rolls up Gama 1..2..3! The Fantastics are in the finals. Winners of the match- The Fantasics Intermission During the intermission, the AWA World Tag Team Champs, Hector and Chavo Guererro are announced and will be sitting at the announcer's table for the finals. The Finals The Fantastics vs. The Wild Ones Both teams have been through a lot. Davey Rich's forehead is bandaged up and both Fantastics took quite a beating from the Singhs. The Fantastics start the match with some pep as they have the Wild Ones bouncing all over the ring. After a few minutes, fatigue sets in and the Wild Ones take advantage. Johnny and Davey take turns working over the Fantastics with quick tags and stiff double teaming. They hoist Rogers up and deliver a double suplex but Rogers kicks out. Moments later, the Rich's go for a double clothesline but Rogers ducks, swings back, dropkicks both Rich's, dives over and tags in Fulton. Fulton knocks the Rich's heads together and keeps up the momentum. The Rich's come back and this time work over Fulton. They break a lot of rules, then swing Fulton to the ropes and hit a double hot shot 1..2..NO! Rogers breaks it! The Rich's double team Rogers, but the Ref guides Johnny back. While that is happening Rogers hot shots Davey on the top rope. Johnny runs back in but Fulton back drops him. The Fantastics swing Davey to the ropes and hit a double dropkick 1..2..3!!!! The Winners of the match and tournament- The Fantastics! The Fantastics celebrate. The Guerreros enter the ring. Both teams stare at each other. The Guerreros nod their heads and offer their hands. The Fantastics smile and the teams shake hands. The SuperClash world tag team title match is set.
  20. Survivor Series! Let's do this! Warrior is getting the massive push and shines here. Andre has the respect and gets a feel good moment. I'm sure this was a big thank you from the WWF for all he's done. Great way to start the show. Demolition and the Rockers put on an impressive display. Loved that ending with all the champs holding their belts high. We'll see if this was just a moment or if seeds were planted for something big. Ok, Muta is definitely the MVP of the show! His performance was epic! It is a big pay per view in the 80s, so yes, Hogan must pose. This was a great way to keep the Hogan/Savage heat going. Do another tease at the Rumble and we could see these guys headlining WrestleMania. I do have to mention Herc powerslamming Studd, that was impressive. The action figures brought a lot of life to this show. It looked like a lot of fun putting all this together. Outstanding job!
  21. Anvil says goodbye on a high note. I agree, 1989 will be Azul's year. Eddie and Barr rekindle their feud with fire. But the question is, who is this green villain? Sunshine had a great run in Pacific, sad to see her go. Hahahahaha Backlund was the perfect guy for Spicoli to finally get his long awaited win. That pop must've been unreal. The Hart Foundation walk away together one last time. Bret is going to need some new allies in 89. Vancouver, Stormfront end 88 with a big win over the Malenkos. I see more matches between Hall and Hennig. Another team looking to make a serious run in 89 is the Can Am Express. After a bit of a slump, Rose has really turned things around. Rhodes gets battered but manages to retain. After Battleground, it made total sense for Lee to get a title shot. He came up short but he'll rebound. Kelowna, Regal is another guy I'll be watching next year. Who is this mysterious green man? He seems to be having a good time. Chono's stock is rising. Destruction Crew found out the FOJ can fight fire with fire. Looks like Silver King has earned himself a LHW title shot. Pillman and Finlay end the year on the highest note. Pillman's reign has been incredible. 1989 should be another epic year for PCW.
  22. The Granddaddy of them all, Starrcade! Let's do this. Perez is the German Suplex King! Props to you on that clever finish. Sheepherders get Jones some gold. I loved that finishing sequence. Thanks to that low down Fuller, the Stud Stable win the 6 man titles. This was great heat. Another cool visual finish as Super D takes the Heritage title from the Pitbull. Damn! Wahoo finally ends his war with Lightfoot. This was one of my favorite feuds and the blow off was well done and satisfying. What a match! The Superfly returns! The Horsemen did everything they could but the Road Warriors were just too strong. We have new World tag champs! Debeers and JYD were involved in another epic NWA feud. JYD ends things in a fitting way. You have made JYD a superstar again. After a night of brutal and bloody action, Tully and Garvin end the night with another classic NWA world title match. These guys really delivered and Garvin knocking Tully out with the punch was so satisfying. The pop must've been earth shattering. Awesome ending to an incredible show. Two thumbs up brother!
  23. AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 11-24-88 Highlights from Title Night are shown. Included are the Gunslingers winning the National tag titles. Larry Zbyszko hitting Paul Orndorff with the Mid American title and then putting him down with a swinging neckbreaker on the concrete. Jumbo Tsuruta becoming the number one contender. Buzz Sawyer brutally attacking Carlos Colon with a chain. Nikita Koloff barley escaping the cobra clutch to get a c.o. victory over Sgt. Slaughter. Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. Title Night is in the books as the road to SuperClash 3 continues. Now, before we get to Superclash in Denver on Saturday December 30th, we've got other crucial stops to make. This weekend at the Met Center will be the big 8 Tag Team tournament. The winners will receive an AWA world tag team title shot against the Guerreros at SuperClash. The first round matches have been announced and boy will you see some heated rivalries going at it. As for tonight, you will see Dave Taylor, Timothy Flowers, DJ Peterson and Lanny Poffo battle in a 4 man gauntlet match with the winner getting a TV title shot at SuperClash. Plenty of big matches tonight, so let's get to the ring. Tatsumi 'The Dragon' Fujinami vs. Joseph Roberts Fujinami is back from a tour of Japan and looks better than ever as he puts on a wrestling clinic before finishing things off with the dragon suplex. Nelson says Tatsumi has a big task ahead as he faces Big Van Vader at SuperClash. Nelson then takes us to a Big Van Vader highlight reel from Japan. Big Van Vader takes on Tatsumi Fujinami at SuperClash 3. Commercial Break 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Jack Victory w/John Tatum Coast to Coast is coming off a sensational showing against the Guerreros and Victory wants to get them back on the winning track tonight. On the flip side, Brandi has been a real blue chipper and has yet to be pinned in the AWA. Brandi lives up to his thrilling moniker as he spends the opening minutes taking Victory down with dropkicks, arm drags and hip tosses. The tide turns when Tatum (from the outside) trips Brandi, Brandi stumbles forward as Victory hits a snap suplex. Tatum cheers as Victory works Brandi over with slams, elbow drops, knee drops and a variety of rule breaking. Victory goes for a back drop but Brandi kicks him. The fans are up and cheering as Brandi makes a furious comeback. Once again, Tatum kills the momentum with a distraction. Victory works over Brandi with punches and stomps. Brandi starts to fight back. Tatum hops on the apron. Victory rakes Brandi's eyes and swings him towards Tatum. Brandi reverses things and swings Victory into Tatum. Tatum flies off the apron as Brandi rolls Victory up 1..2..3! BIG POP! Commercial Break Nelson: Wow, tremendous win for Tom Brandi. The fans have really gotten behind this exciting young man. Ok, joining me now are the new AWA National Tag Team champions, the Gunslingers. The fans cheer as The Gunslingers come out in jeans, cowboy boots, western style shirts and white cowboy hats. The National titles are on their shoulders. Nelson: Congratulations on winning the National Titles. You guys have been here in the AWA for awhile and really deserve those titles. As you know on Saturday December 22nd there will be the traditional tag team battle royal and the winners will now face you two for the National titles at SuperClash. Casey: Larry, we're on top of the world right now and feeling great. Johnny and I promise to be fighting champions and are..... Boos as Baby Doll leads Badd Company out. Baby Doll: You boys should know this term. Hold your horses. At Title Night you pulled off the biggest fluke in history. You come out here and say you'll be fighting champions, well prove it. We want a rematch and we want it right here next week. I'm not asking. Mantell: Like my partner said, we're fighting champions. So bring it on! Badd Company step towards them. The Gunslingers are ready to fight. Baby Doll calmly escorts her team to the back. Nelson: Well, ok, looks like we have a National tag team title match set for next week. My goodness. Commercial Break 'The Fabulous One' Steve Keirn vs. Harold Bannister Keirn looks impressive tonight and finishes things off with a reverse DDT. As Keirn celebrates with the fans, Dream Machine and Gary Young hit the ring and attack Keirn. Just as they start to put the boots to Keirn, Mr. Olympia hits the ring with fists flying. Olympia gets in some shots but the numbers catch up. Just as Dream and Young get the upper hand, Keirn recovers and it's a pier six brawl! Commercial Break AWA Mid-American Champ Larry Zbyszko vs. Ray Glader Zbyszko dismantles his opponent before putting him down with a swinging neckbreaker. Nelson: Larry Zbyszko, I have to say your actions at Title Night were despicable. Zbyszko: Who asked you spudhead. Look, Paul Orndorff was simply out of his league and he got hurt. Nelson: (rolls his eyes) Well, stay here because I understand the AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow has an announcement for you. Brenda Britton heads out with Gerry Morrow. Britton snatches the mic from Nelson. Britton: Hit the road Nelson. Ok Gerry, the floor is yours. Morrow: AHHHHH thank you Brenda. (looks at Zbyszko) and thank you Mr. Zbyszko for your time. As you and everybody knows, SuperClash 3 will take place on Saturday December 30th in Denver. Now Mr. Zbyszko, you have been quite clever in retaining your Mid American title. And as a clever man you should have no problem with dis announcement. At SuperClash, you will defend your title against Paul Orndorff and if you get disqualified or counted out, you will indeed lose your title. Zbyszko throws a fit. Zbyszko: Gerry, I thought we were friends. Why are you doing this to me? Morrow: Ahhhhh we are indeed friends. I am doing dis because like I said you are a very clever man and I'm sure you will find a way to win. I need to be fair and Mr. Orndorff does deserve another chance. I will tell you what, if you do win, you are invited to my private post SuperClash party and I will have a special toast just for you. Zbyszko (calming down) You're right Gerry. I'm the greatest AWA champion of all time and that's why I'm a living legend. I will prove that to you and I will enjoy the champagne celebration. Morrow: Ahhhhh dat is what I like to hear. Commercial Break Sgt. Slaughter vs. Arnie Goldstein Slaughter is pissed tonight and easily disposes of his opponent with the cobra clutch. Nelson: Sgt. Slaughter at Title Night.. Slaughter: Shut up Puke! I would like to ask the AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow to come back out here so I can have a word with him. Once again, Britton comes out with Morrow. Britton: You know the deal Nelson. Nelson shakes his head and hands over the mic. Britton: Busy night for you Gerry. Morrow: Hahahaha it is indeed. Ok Mr. Slaughter, go right ahead. Slaughter. I'll get right to the point. Everybody saw what I did to that maggot Nikita Koloff at Title Night. I think it's only fair that I get a rematch at the biggest event SuperClash! Morrow: I do like your fighting spirit Mr. Slaughter, I really do. However, de main event for SuperClash is already set. As a matter of fact, there will be a special press conference next week between de AWA World Champion Nikita Koloff and de number one contender Jumbo Tsuruta. However, I will do dis for you Mr. Slaughter. Tis the season for SuperClash, so I'm going to allow you to pick your opponent for SuperClash. It's a high profile event and if you win, that could propel you to another world title shot. What do you say? Slaughter: (contemplates this) I accept. Slaughter shakes Morrow's hand. Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer and Kokina vs. Todd Rooney and George Wilbert Members of the Asylum simply destroy their opponents. Sawyer hits a powerslam on Wilbert as Kokina follows with a Samoan Drop for the easy win. Nelson is nervous as Sawyer swings his chain around and Kokina screams into the camera. Nelson: (still nervous) Buzz Sawyer, after what we saw at Title Night, it appears your issues with Carlos Colon haven't been resolved. Sawyer: (maniacal laugh) I told you Colon that this isn't over until I say it's over. At WrestleRock we had a great time fighting in a Carribean Death Match. At WarGames we had a blast beating each other senseless. Well now it's my turn to have a party. Colon! This all ends at SuperClash, because you and I are going to have the best time yet, in a chain match! I know you're at home licking your wounds and I know you're scared to death to face me again. But I want this match and you're going to give it to me or I'll come to Puerto Rico and drag you here myself, with this chain! Nelson runs away as Sawyer swings his chain while Kokina grabs a Crusher Blackwell poster from a fan and rips it up. Commercial Break Nelson: Well, in my hand is an envelope sent to us by Greg Gagne. This is the bounty money owed to the Mongolian Stomper. I want to get this over with, so if the Mongolian Stomper could come and collect this. Please do so. Boos as the Mongolian Stomper storms down the aisle. WHAM! He's nailed from behind by EL CANEK! Canek is wearing a brace around his mid section but that doesn't slow him down as he pounds down on Stomper. Security and officials rush out to stop this. Nelson: Oh my! It appears El Canek is still around and this money will go back to Greg Gagne. (Smiling) I really hope you're watching Greg. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, before we get to our main event. Don't forget, tomorrow night at the Met Center, 8 tag teams will compete in a tournament for a shot at the AWA World tag team titles at SuperClash. It's been announced that Kerry Von Erich will face Terry Gordy inside a steel cage at SuperClash. Next week we'll hear from both men. Iceman Parsons goes one on one with Black Bart. AWA National tag team title bout as the Gunsligers defend against former champs Badd Company. I've just been told that El Canek will face Mongolian Stomper in a bounty match. And also, next week you will see the contract signing between Nikita Koloff and Jumbo Tsuruta. Our main event when we return. But first we have a recorded message from the TV champ Brian Adias. Adias is standing in front of a movie studio. He's reading a script. Adias: (looks up) Oh hey, just going over one of many scripts sent to me for approval. Now, I understand that today four supporting role players will go at it in a gauntlet match to face me for MY TV title at SuperClash. Me, the headliner, A-Lister and Blockbuster Brian Adias. I don't have time to comment because I have important business to take care of. Adias shows his script and goes back to reading it. Commercial Break 4-Man Gauntlet Match for an AWA TV Title shot at SuperClash 'The British Bomber' Dave Taylor vs. 'Diamond' Timothy Flowers vs. 'Dynamite' DJ Peterson vs. 'Luscious' Lanny Poffo Recent rivals Flowers and Taylor start things off. The bell rings and they pound away on each other. They go at it back and forth with some brutal shots and power moves. After a few minutes of stiff action, the Ref gets in the middle of an exchange and goes down. Taylor back drops Flowers. Flowers bounces around and goes to the outside. Taylor tries to wake the Ref up. Flowers grabs a chair and gets in the ring. The Ref starts to wake up. Flowers is ready to hit Taylor with the chair. Taylor turns around and kicks Flowers, then grabs the chair. Flowers quickly drops to the ground as the Ref stands up and sees Taylor with the chair. Flowers is holding his head and telling the Ref Taylor hit him with the chair. The Ref signals for the bell and disqualifies Taylor. Flowers is giggling. Taylor is pissed. Flowers gets up laughing and tells Taylor to leave. Taylor looks around, then whacks Flowers over his head with the chair. Flowers goes down as Taylor tosses the chair and exits. Here comes DJ Peterson. The fans cheer as DJ runs in the ring and covers Flowers 1..2..3! Officials run out to get Flowers out of the ring. Here comes Lanny Poffo skipping to the ring. 24. Assassin takes care of things between Michales and Knighton. Blaze is added to the mix and now we have a hot tag match coming. LOL, RPG bolts out of there before Fargo has a chance to say Hi. I can't wait until these two meet face to face. I know the fans loved seeing Tojo submit Bruno. I have a feeling Bass won't go easy on Falk's students. JT ends the show with an exciting win over Cuban Assassin. I'm sure we'll get another tag match soon. Fun show
  25. Piper's Pit is coming to WCW with Terry Funk as his first guest. WOW! I don't even know what to expect. I like the importance put on the US tag titles. Reed finds a partner but Simmons is playing it with caution. Muraco is becoming a bit unhinged. I feel sorry for the person he snaps on. Loved the Morton/Gilbert angle. These guys can go and will give the fans some exciting matches. Dusty gives another golden promo. Him and Funk can beat each other up with fists and words. Can't wait for Season's Beatings!
