    Ole is so great here, pretending he doesn't hear Sting say that he isn't retiring. Sting gets fired up and hoots and hollers and promises some kind of surprise at Capital Combat. I can't wait to see what it is! Sting was on TV almost every week during his injury, and it was because, like Garretta said, there wasn't really anyone else to put on TV. I wonder if this could have been the time to elevate Pillman and have him step in as kind of the mouthpiece while Luger fights alongside him as the muscle. There's built in history with Flair there. Or to go back even further, maybe have Pillman take Luger's spot at Wrestle War, since he's shown he can hang with Flair in the ring and wants another shot. Also interesting here is that Arn Anderson is injured, Ole can't wrestle, so you've kind of got a situation where your main feud only has one heel who can fight, and Luger.

    Lawler with the cruelest attacks yet, insulting a man with some kind of disability. The atmosphere is almost like a slam poetry reading or something where the crowd just eats up all the insults. Awesome as usual. I love when he points out his fans.

    These ICW clips are bizarre. They feel very sleazy and uncomfortable.

    This is insane. I can't really tell why everyone is bleeding, but it looks legit I think, right? This feels illegal. The promotor or manager or whoever is egging the whole thing on seems like a criminal and is forcing these men to fight. What an experience.

I was enjoying time off at my wife's house in Japan. Baba got the necessary information from my dad and called me.....He explained that Terry had backed out and asked if I would take the spot. Baba said he was in a bad position since Gordy was one of the boys, and it made him look bad to both New Japan and the WWF. I was happy to take the match." So take this for whatever it's worth, but its a different side of the story that Meltzer says about the match.

    It looked like Dibiase was going to counter the big shoulder block into like a crossface or something. I would've been into that.

    The dome EXPLODES when Tenryus music hits and doesn't let up. What a cool contrast with the Hogan/Hansen match. Here Macho an Sherri don't change anything an Tenryu works an American style compared to Hogan working the more Japanese style. Tenryu getting fired up and throwing gestures was awesome. Tons of fun and the crowd was having a blast the whole time.

    Weird finish because there's no time announcement and seemingly no urgency from the fighters. Cool clip from a historical perspective though.

    I had never seen this match before last night. I've got no emotional to the match or to either guy really, and I still thought this was pretty good. A comic book come to life is the perfect analogy, with the two guys really seeming like they are bigger than the mountain range they tower over on the event poster. I really liked that they redid some of the spots from their Royal Rumble encounter and the finish was great. Great moment when warrior gets Hogan up the first time for the gorilla press. He's really straining and you can see it in his eyes. I mean, this isn't a match made for someone in their 30s with no nostalgia like me, and I may never watch it again, but they made an impressive spectacle here. Bummed we don't get anymore Hogan/Warrior promo duels.

    Awesome moment when Jake slithers in at the top of the screen and clotheslines DiBiase and Virgil. Awesome looking DDT and a bill in the mouth. As always though, the presence of that poor abused snake bums me out.

    The same thing happened to me last time Piper was in black face. I looked up, saw him, looked down, looked up again, saw the blackface. Just as shocking.

    Kirisu looks like someone's shitkicker father. I can't add much to this but there's a shot right after all four men get in the ring for the first time where a handheld camera is going through the crowd, everyone is confused and standing around and it feels like news footage of a riot. What a match.

    Would it be fair to say we are currently in the "Network Era"? It feels like there was enough of a shift in the product in February 2014 to warrant it (ramping up the NXT brand most notably).

    Embry's eyes make him look like a stupid person. It's the same 1,000 yard stare a war veteran or someone from the Central Valley of California has.

    Him taking off his glasses was very funny. This back to back with the Lawler promo about him doesn't serve him well.

    Kind of like the Jimmy Valiant vs. Billy Travis in that it's a nothing match but the crowd loves it, so who really cares how good the match is? Garretta brings up an interesting point about that Bret Hart match. That was a better match, but Bret did just enough to get by. So at the end of the day, what's more important?

    Weird promo package at the beginning to set up the match. I actually really like the DIY aspect of it with no commentary and only a date bar in the lower corner. The match itself didn't really do much for me, but again I like the lack of production value and muffled sound.
