WWE TV - 6/17 - 6/21 - Owned By A Contraction. Again.
Norwegian Rudo replied to Timbo Slice's topic in WWE
AAA (Konnan specifically) were giving very strong "come and get me" pleadings to WWE back when dragon Lee signed. I don't think it would take much to get them to jump. -
Tiffany's act is pretty clearly "diva who can wrestle" as well as spoiled rich girl. I don't really see too much similarity between Giulia and Tiffany (Tiffany and Mariah May on the other hand...). Also Giulia changes her look so often there shouldn't be too much of a problem asking her to avoid anything too much like Tiffany.

I haven't seen anyone saying Bayne isn't under AEW contract. The disagreement is whether she was sent to Stardom on excursion, which the original report said.

If I though that situation was getting cleared up anytime soon I would not be signing on for losing squash matches on AEW TV...

NWA reportedly signs TV deal with the CW network

WOW isn't "on the CW" as such, it's syndicated programming that airs on the CW stations in many markets. -
WWE TV 10/09 - 10/15 Brrrrrrock Purrrrrdy is the guy
Norwegian Rudo replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Played very badly and still would have won if not for two horrendous ref calls on the Browns last drive and a missed mid-range field goal. -
That ended very quickly. Whether that was by Kenny's choice or Tony's we don't really know.
-
Putting the two of them against each other when the ladies division on the main roster is desperate for fresh blood in the upper card would be booking malpractice.
-
When was this TNA relationship? NJPW has refused to have anything to do with them since Okada's disastrous stint, which I think was well before TNA got involved with AAA.
-
New Japan is loyal to CMLL (and historically nobody else). They have refused to work with other companies in the past with far looser AAA connections than AEW's seem to be.

I know they said that, but that doesn't really tell us anything. I guess details will come out eventually and we'll just have to wait, but I'm very dubious this will be the worker's paradise they're promising.
-
Same. It was very noticeable how when pressed for details they didn't confirm they actually would be offering healthcare. In fact from Cody and the Bucks' comments it sounded very much like it wasn't coming anytime soon for the wrestlers, if at all. In a similar vein, I am dubious about the equal pay claims in a business where there is no pay scale and no transparency. Exactly who would someone like Britt Baker be paid equal to? And are we talking base salary or in total?

That doesn't say anything about Sanada having or not having interest though?
-
Where exactly have you read that? Stories of Sanada wanting to go to WWE have been around for years, long before he went to NJ.

But it's not like WWE isn't running the Garden, though. They're not doing TV or PPVs there because the origination fees that MSG tacks on for broadcasts are onerous. Doubt Dolan is happy for his pride and joy to be getting house shows while Barclays gets TV regularly, not to mention Summerslam (+NXT) every year recently. Summerslam has been a big deal in NY media since they started in Brooklyn (it's the main reason they made it annual) which I bet he loves also.
-
Don't really see this as a WWE/ROH thing. If anything it's a MSG/Barclays thing. As soon as it became known MSG was contacting wrestling companies about running there it was blindingly obvious it was a powerplay to try to get WWE back from Brooklyn.
-
They announced four dates of tapings, each with two days.
-
I agree that they can't do another show that's the same as, or aimed at the same fans as Raw & Smackdown. I don't agree that they can't do different types of shows. For instance I would try to get NXT (you'd probably want to change the name to get away from the developmental stigma) on a sports station and play up the athletic and competition aspects while severely downplaying the soap opera aspects. You could also do a women's wrestling show aimed specifically at women fans, or a show aimed at young kids.
-
Much more likely is WWE turning NXT into a real third brand and getting it on TV.
-
The current deal doesn't include Fox News, the Fox broadcast network or FS1/FS2. It does include the regional sports networks. That would be Ari Emanuel, who Ari from Entourage is based on.

Anyone who has followed her career will tell you that Ronda has clearly dreamed of being a pro wrestling heel. Her Strikeforce act was completely that. Having said that; no way they allow her to move to the dark side before the new TV deal is signed. They're counting on her bringing the positive press that they hope will make them hundreds of millions extra.

I wonder if Mae's the Joe Paterno to Moolah's Jerry Sandusky. Seems hard to believe those two could be close friends for so long and have no idea what was going on. That makes no sense as an analogy. Paterno was the big boss who knew what his employee was doing and protected him because he didn't want any scandal to tarnish his legacy, which is ironic. Moolah was both the perpetrator and the boss. Was Mae even around for this? I thought Mae trained Moolah, and then they met again and got together after Moolah retired?
