USWA WRESTLING PRESENTS 12/22/1984: WTBS 7:05-10:05 FROM THE HEMISFAIR ARENA SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS “Hello again everybody. Welcome to the Year End Special from the HemisFair Arena in San Antonio. We are here live on WTBS. I am Jim Ross along with Ernie Ladd. Both Ross and Ladd hype up tonight’s event and give some time to the 3 Corner Match for the USWA World Title between Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race and Ted Dibiase. Ross believes Rhodes will come out on top but Ladd disagrees as he doesn’t think Rhodes is half the man that his competitors are. Ross gets us right to the action. ICEMAN PARSONS VS THE GREAT KABUKI with Gary Hart A nice way to kick off the evening as Parsons gets the crowd going right away with a little “We Are Family.” Ross loves the dancing and the energy but Ladd wonders how much energy Parsons will have after he catches a few thrusts kicks from the mysterious Kabuki. As for the match, Parsons keeps the fans into it the first few minutes by having his way with Kabuki but the Iceman was caught with a martial arts chop as he rushed in a little too quickly. Kabuki now mixes in a few chops and nerve holds to keep Iceman contained. As Iceman tried to regain control Kabuki resorted to a choke hold which ref Scrappy McGowan forced him to break. Gary Hart was all over the ref but Kabuki just seemed to move on. He began to spin around a few times and then stopped and sprayed his mystical green mist high into the air. Ernie Ladd hyped up the massive Thrust Kick that Kabuki was about to throw but somehow Iceman ducked under it and then came off the ropes and connected with his own finisher; a Big Butt Bump for the victory. This got the crowd really into it and they hoped their good fortune would carry over the rest of the night. MATCH TIME: 10:21. WINNERS: Iceman Parsons _________________________________________________________________________ MIKE VON ERICH & LANCE VONERICH VS DEVASTATION INC. (The Iron Sheik & Black Blood with Skandar Akbar) THE PERSON WHO LOSES MUST LEAVE THE USWA Just a few weeks ago, nobody would have seen this match coming. Lance was feuding with all of the VonErichs and had in fact put Mike out of commission for a while. Then during the Devastation Inc. Submission Challenge, Mike beat Lance and then the rest of Devastation Inc. turned on Mr. Texas (Lance). The VonErichs let by gones be by gones and came to the aid of their cousin and now we are at a loser leave town match where Jim Ross and the fans still don’t completely trust Lance. The hated Iron Sheik and his Iranian flag waving and Anti-American propaganda has this Texas crowd all up in arms. The boos change to cheers with the arrival of the two VonErich brothers. As the match is getting set to start, we see Skandar Akbar go up to Lance and offer him some money. Jim Ross speculates that this is for Lance to once again join Devastation Inc. and leave Mike all alone. The fans are begging him not to turn heel again and their wishes are meet! Lance delivers a huge right hand to Akbar’s head that causes him to crash through the ropes as his Arabian headdress goes flying. Sheik and Black Blood quickly attack and the match is underway. It is violent and has many back and forth segments. The end came when Mike was taking a pretty could beating and was caught in Black Blood’s dreaded Full Nelson. Nobody has survived this for long and Mike is bent over like a pretzel. He has that VonErich fighting spirit and refuses to give in but he might pass out from the pain. The only thing that saved him was that Lance rushed in from behind and clobbered Black Blood. The Iron Sheik came in and Lance held nothing back and gave the Sheik some of what he gave Black Blood. Lance dragged Mike over to the corner and then legally tagged himself in. Mike was basically unconscious but it didn’t seem to matter as Lance was like a house afire. Akbar couldn’t take it any longer and tripped up Lance. Black Blood quickly pounced with a running elbow drop and then tagged in The Sheik who came up from behind and put Lance into the Camel Clutch. With Mike unable to make the save, Lance eventually tapped out. The crowd was in shock as the finally thought the VonErich clan was coming together and now Lance will have to pack his bags. Devastation Inc. celebrated in the center of the ring as Kerry and Kevin came down to the ring to ensure the safety of their brother and cousin. Lance’s true colors came out again as he shoved Kerry away and hobbled out of the ring alone. MATCH TIME: 14:41 WINNER: Devastation Inc.-Lance VonErich must leave the USWA __________________________________________________________________________ STEEL CAGE MATCH TOMMY RICH & HACKSAW DUGGAN VS DIRTY DICK SLATER & MANIAC MATT BORNE The steel cage here was erected in order to try and keep this a fair fight on both sides. The USWA hoped to keep Duggan’s 2x4 out of the ring and it was also supposed to keep the Rat Pack’s Enforcer, Loch Ness from getting involved. As the match progressed it was obvious that this had little to do with wrestling. This was Survival of the Fittest at its best and who would come out on top was anyone’s guess. In the end, we see Rich grinding Borne’s face into the cage and then whip him into the corner where he rushed in with an elbow and then climbed onto the second rope for a bunch of wild right hands that the crowd began to count off. Borne just collapsed and Rich tagged in Duggan who connected with a devastating football tackle. It looked like the match was about to end when all of a sudden the entire cage starts to rock. Loch Ness was pulling and pushing and doing his best to rip down the entire cage and get into the ring. Jim Ross and Ernie Ladd both wondered if the ring could withstand what the 700 pound monster was doing to it. In the end, the ring and the fan favorites survived a bloody brawl. Ross really hypes up the continued success of Duggan and Rich but say neither one will be happy until they get their hands on the leader of the Rat Pack, Ted Dibiase. MATCH TIME: 20:41. WINNER: Tommy Rich and Hacksaw Duggan __________________________________________________________________________ USWA WORLD TAG TEAM MATCH THE VON ERICHS VS THE PERFECT ALLIANCE (Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton with Baby Doll) A hard fought back and forth for the first twenty minutes gets really crazy at the end. Bobby Eaton has the advantage over Kevin and thinks he has set him up for the Alabama Jam (Top Rope Elbow Drop) but somehow Kevin gets up and catches him and reverses it into a powerslam. Kevin goes for the pin but Arn rushed in to make the save by clocking Kevin with an elbow to the head. The ref forces Arn out of the ring as both the legal men struggle to get to their feet and make a tag. Eaton gets to Arn first but he isn’t quick enough to stop Kevin from getting to his brother. Kerry comes in like a house afire and is tossing both Arn and Eaton all over the ring. As order is restored, it is Kerry locking in the Iron Claw on the head of Anderson. The camera picks up Baby Doll giving something to Beautiful Bobby who places it inside his elbow pad. Baby Doll now rushes to the ring apron and starts to berate ref Pee Wee Anderson. This changes his focus from checking for a submission victory for the champs to dealing with Baby Doll. Kevin now gets involved with the argument between Baby Doll and the ref and none of the 3 see Eaton climbing to the top rope. WHAM! Alabama Jam off the top rope with the loaded elbow pad. This loud crash got Pee Wee Anderson’s attention but not before Eaton rushed over and clocked Kevin to ensure he couldn’t make a save. Arn covers Kerry. 1… 2… 3. Jim Ross can’t believe that the Perfect Alliance has won the World Titles in such a devious fashion. Ernie Ladd plays dumb and seems so excited that the VonErichs went down in defeat. MATCH TIME: 22:27. WINNERS: THE FAB ONES __________________________________________________________________________ USWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH JYD VS HACKSAW REED with Skandar Akbar TEXAS STREET FIGHT (ANYTHING GOES) The crowd really pops as Another One Bites the Dust leads the Dog to the ring. He is pumped up and swinging his big dog chain and howling at the moon. Like Hacksaw Reed, the Dog has come out in jeans, a T-shirt and cowboy boots. This feud is white hot and the fans hope their beloved JYD can come out of this with his title. Ernie Ladd has feuded with both these men in the last year but he seems to have zero tolerance for JYD. As for the match, it is the street fight to end all street fights. Both men have been bloodied and cloths have become a tattered, torn mess. In the end, both men are on the outside of the ring and Reed slams Dog’s head off the time keeper’s bell and then rolled in. Akbar went in and gave the Dog a few blows but this did not prevent the Dog from getting back into the ring. The wild part was that he grabbed his 10 foot dog chain and started swinging it at Hacksaw. For some reason Bronco Lubich tried to get JYD to put the weapon down. He seemed to forget it was a No Rules Match but this distraction allowed Reed to pick up a head of steam and as soon as the ref moved away…. WHAM!!! Reed hit Dog with a big football tackle. Reed now takes JYD’s own boot off and starts to beat him in the head with it. Dog is in serious trouble as Reed connects with a big short armed clothesline… 2 count! Reed with a high, high vertical suplex… 2 count! Reed puts JYD into the Bearhug… No Submission! Reed scoops up JYD and hoists him above his head. Reed with a Gorilla Press Slam… 3 Count! Jim Ross: And for the second time this year, Hacksaw Butch Reed has won the North American Championship. MATCH TIME: 19:25. WINNER: HACKSAW BUTCH REED (NEW USWA NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION) __________________________________________________________________________ USWA WORLD 6 MAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH ELIMINATION MATCH THE MIRACLE VIOLENCE COMMITTEE VS THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS The champs are at a serious disadvantage here in this elimination match as it is only Dr. Death and Manny Fernandez against the 3 Freebirds. Terry Gordy is still out and may actually never return from that eye injury caused by Michael Hayes. The match is high energy from the get go and the Miracle Violence Committee is holding their own. After about 10 minutes, Dr. Death connects with an Oklahoma Stampede on Buddy Roberts and he is eliminated. With this being 2-2, the crowd seems to relax a bit as they really don’t want to see the Freebirds win the belts. Unfortunately, Manny Fernandez catches a loaded purse from Precious followed by a Brainbuster by Jimmy Jam Garvin and he was eliminated. It is now two on one and the Freebirds go to town on Dr. Death. Somehow he keeps kicking out at two. Whether it was a Bulldog from Hayes or a Sit-down Jawbreaker from Garvin, Dr. Death was in trouble but refused to be pinned. All of a sudden, the crowd explodes as Terry Gordy, eyes heavily bandaged, is being escorted to ringside by a security guard. He is guided to Williams’s corner where he cautiously climbs up on to the apron. Jim Ross can’t believe that he is going to try and wrestle tonight even though he is BLIND. Ladd says this is one of the stupidest things he has ever seen. From out of nowhere, Williams catches Jimmy Garvin with a nasty football tackle and he covers him for a three count. Michael Hayes acts quickly and before Williams can get set, Hayes elbows him in the back of the head. He then whips him into the corner where he rushes in a catches him with a knee to the gut. Hayes signals to the crowd that he is going for his finisher, the Bulldog. Side Headlock……. Hayes runs towards the center of the ring and leaps with Williams in toe…. WHAM! BULLDOG! 1… 2… 3. Everybody is now wondering what will happen and the answer is NOTHING. Gordy simply stands outside on the apron like he has no idea what to do. Ref Scrappy McGowan goes to Gordy and tells him to either get in the ring or he will be counted out. McGowan gets to 8 before Gordy gets into the ring. Michael Hayes is smiling but cautious at the same time. He waves his hands in Gordy’s face…No Reaction! Hayes circles around Gordy…. No reaction. Hayes fakes a huge right hand …. No reaction. Ross is convinces that Gordy is totally blind behind those bandages. Hayes slaps Gordy across the face…. No reaction. Jim Ross: “Enough is enough. McGowan needs to stop this match before Gordy gets really hurt. Hayes throws a huge right hand….. BLOCKED Hayes throws another huge right hand…. BLOCKED. Hayes is in shock. Gordy pulls the bandages off his eyes and simply smiles at Hayes. Precious leaps up on the apron….. WHAM… Gordy knocks her down and stays focused on Hayes who tried to sneak in. Bam Bam grabs Hayes and Irish Whips him into the ropes. WHAM! Maybe the biggest powerslam in the history of wrestling and Gordy covers Hayes. 1… 2… 3. The Miracle Violence Committee wins as the crowd goes completely bonkers! MATCH TIME: 25:27. WINNERS: MIRACLE VIOLENCE COMMITTEE __________________________________________________________________________ USWA WORLD TITLE MATCH 3 CORNER MATCH “THE AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES VS HARLEY RACE VS TED DIBIASE Ernie Ladd is convinced that Ted Dibiase is the favorite in this match as he is the only one with experience in this type of match where everyone is in the ring at once. Ross doesn’t disagree but says you can never count out the American Dream or Harley Race for that matter. As the match begins, Race thinks that the obvious plan is for he and Dibiase to work together but Dibiase learned from his last 3 Corner Match to attack anyone who is his way. He knows the only way to gain the victory would be to put both his opponents down. Dibiase is like a man possessed early and it hitting everything in his path. Dusty tries to focus his attention on Race for the most part. In fact, Race is taking it pretty good from both opponents. Race seemed truly out of place here as every time he thought he had something going, the other guy would attack from behind. He became so frustrated at one point that he threw his hands up in the air and walked out of the ring to gather himself. When he returned, he was quickly caught with a Bionic Elbow from Rhodes and Race stumbled back into the corner. Dibiase seized the moment and jumped on the back of Rhodes and put him in a sleeper. Desperate to break the hold, Rhodes backed into the corner. SMASH! Rhodes and Dibiase hit right into Race. Somehow Dibiase hangs onto the sleeper for 3 more times as Rhodes just keeps crashing into Race in the corner. Finally, Dibiase loses his grip and falls to the ground. Race and Rhodes are also both in trouble. Somehow Harley is up first and connects with a Diving Headbutt to Rhodes. He then picks Dusty up by the hair…. High, High Vertical Suplex…… Race covers Rhodes. 1… 2… Diving save by Dibiase with an elbow to Race. Dibiase quickly goes for the Figure 4 on Rhodes and he has it locked in. Rhodes is writhing in pain but won’t give up. Race seems to know that Dibiase is going to have to break Rhodes legs before he will submit so he takes time to recoup. The Figure 4 is finally broken as Rhodes reaches the ropes. Race turns to Dibiase as he knows Dusty will be out of this match for a minute or two. Double eye gouge on Dibiase allows Race to do what he wants. Race now connects with a big suplex on Dibiase. He scampers up to the top rope and hits a Diving Headbutt on Dibiase. Jim Ross is sure it is now over and that Race will be the new champion. 1… 2… Wham… Dusty makes the save with a Diving Bionic Elbow on Race. Quickly, Rhodes puts Races head between his legs and lifts him up…. Piledriver Rhodes piledrives Race and then follows it up with a piledriver on Dibiase. He wanted to make sure there would be no more saves. He places one hand on Dibiase and the other hand on Race. 1… 2… 3! Dusty pins both Race and Dibiase to hold on to his World Title. MATCH TIME: 28:27. WINNERS: Dusty Rhodes So long from HemisFair Arena in San Antonio, Texas.

Get well Rain!

I am willing to work with all. If you need someone, I will send if I can.

Would love guidance on long term planning. I just kind of sit down week to week and type what comes to mind and sometimes I feel that I have too many wrestlers that deserve an angle and I get stuck. How many wrestlers do you guys use at the top of your promotion vs midcaders? How many wrestlers or teams do you give pushes too. Do you kind of leave some people laying in the weeds biding their time. Any ideas or thoughts would be very helpful coming into the new year. Please PM me as I feel I am the most unorganized at this. Great main event with Martel and Valentine. A true contender for match of the year!
-
Great card for the Brawl to End it All! WWF continues to reign supreme with great organization and direction. You plan things out so well.
-
Agree with Edger. Love the hierarchy of your roster. Something I really need to work on.
-
I feel bad for Lowblow to keep adding 1 person to my roster per day even though that is what was said... I have released Killer Brooks who is all ready listed on the free agent list anyway. I now have three roster spots left and they will jobber packs for now as my roster is in flux until after the new year as I have a few trades waiting to be announced. If I have added anybody that any other promotion was going to take they are yours.... no problem at all. I just wanted to shorten up Lowblows work load here as he does so much. Also, if any of my jobbers could fill a regular roster spot for you, please feel free to let me know and I will give them to you. My 43th roster spot: Mark Lewin ( who i picked up the other day but was not added yet to my roster) 44th Spot: Ted Arcidi, Big John Harris & Ron Starr 45th Spot: Mike Jackson, Ted Allen & Tojo Yamamoto 46th Spot: JR Hogg, Lanny Kean, & Bugsy McGraw. They are listed in the order I would have selected them so the one pick that I would lock in for today is Arcidi.

Welcome aboard Lucha Libre!

Love how you are using the NWA to its fullest. Sheepherders from Atlanta, GA after a Canadians game. I hope the Canadians won that one or the Forum was in trouble. First a Canadians loss (hopefully to the Flyers) followed by a Rougeau loss = trouble on Rue Sainte Catherine.
-
USWA adds Uncle Elmer. Also Brett Wayne Sawyer, Chris Benoit and Robert Traylor are forming a jobber pack.
-
Option 2: Scrap the tours as now there are actually people to make deals with.
-
I am all for that and I would be willing to work out deals for who you needed. This has been my thoughts all along.
-
USWA adds Mark Lewin. He will be putting on a mask and by Jody Hamilton's new partner as Assassin #2. A good finishing role for two guys who have been in the business for 30+ years.
-
Hiro Saito and Mr. Saito seem to be on two rosters. Mr. Saito has been always been on MACW and is now also in All Japan and Hiro Saito was drafted by CCW and is also listed on All Japan.

12/15/1984: WTBS 9:05-10:05 DALLAS, TEXAS “Hello again everybody. Welcome to USWA WRESTLING from Dallas, Texas and wrestling’s most famous arena, The Sportatorium. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the Big Cat, Ernie Ladd.” Let’s get right to the ring Due to the fact that I am just too bust too write a complete show and that I have a promotion somewhat in flux, this show will just be a highlight show which promotes the year end spectacular; The Last Stand 1984, from the HemisFair Arena in San Antonio on December 22nd. 1. USWA WORLD HEAYWEIGHT TITLE During the show, we see interviews from all three combatants in the Three Corner Championship match between Dusty Rhodes, Ted Dibiase and Harley Race. All three seem pretty confident but are not thrilled at the idea that it is a 3 Corner Match. 2. USWA WORLD TITLE The Perfect Alliance defeated the Fabulous Ones with help from Baby Doll to earn the #1 Contenders match to face the Von Erichs at Last Stand. After winning the match, the Perfect Alliance headed to the interview desk and were informed by Cowboy Bill Watts that this will be their last chance to regain the World Title for at least 6 months. 3. USWA NORTH AMERICAN TITLE A video of the attack by Devastation Inc. on JYD during last week during the Submission Challenge was shown. JYD was about to win $10,000 from Skandar Akbar as it was becoming obvious that he would not submit to Hacksaw Reed’s Bearhug when the rest of Akbar’s men attacked him. JYD joined Jim Ross for an in ring interview where he is furious that Akbar is not giving him the money and he also is demanding a Texas Street Fight Match where anything goes against Reed at Last Stand. Reed comes out and starts jarring at the Dog. JYD challenges him to come into the ring right now but Reed declined that challenge but did accept the title match for Last Stand. 4. DEVASTATION INC SUBMISSION CHALLENGE… Tonight it is Mike Von Erich who accepted Skandar Akbar’s $10,000 challenge. Mike chooses his opponent….. Mr. Texas (Lance Von Erich) and the Iron Claw. Prior to the segment starting, the rest of the VonErich brothers and JYD came out to make sure that the rest of Devastation Inc. doesn’t get involved in the action. During the one minute challenge, Mike Von Erich is not only able to withstand the pressure on the claw but he is able to break the hold and put Lance into his own Iron Claw. The rest of Akbar’s men tried to get into the ring but were stopped by the Von Erich brothers and the Dog. After the one minute and the bell sounding, it was obvious that Akbar would have to hand over the $10,000 which he begrudgingly did. All of a sudden, Akbar tells Hacksaw Reed, Black Blood (Billy Jack in a mask), and the Iron Sheik to turn on Lance Von Erich. They give it to him pretty good for a minute or two and the VonErich brothers are unsure what to do. Finally, they come to their cousin’s aid proving blood is thicker than water. Later in the show, we find out that Lance & Mike VonErich are going to face Devastation Inc. (Black Blood & The Iron Sheik) at Last Stand where whichever wrestler losers, he will be forced to leave the USWA. Jim Ross seems really concerned about this event and wonders if Mike can really trust Lance who has been stabbing the VonErichs in the back for months now. 5. USWA WORLD 6 MAN TAG TEAM This seems to be the hottest angle right now in the USWA. We find out that Michael Hayes was released from Lake Charles City Jail after Terry Gordy begged Cowboy Bill Watts not to press charges against his former partner. In a video interview from Bam Bam’s house, we see a blind Gordy trying to learn how to cope with his new life with this horrible disability. Gordy explains that the reason he didn’t want Watts to press charges against Hayes was because he still had hope that he would regain his site and he needed the thought of beating Hayes to a pulp to keep him focused on his recovery. Also during the show, the other two members of the Miracle Violence Committee win a quick bout against Igor Volkolf and Fidel Sierra. In their post-match interview, Dr. Death and Manny Fernandez are furious at last week’s attack by Michael Hayes in which he attempted to blind Williams just weeks after he blinded Terry Gordy. This anger has fueled them into challenging The Freebirds to any type of match they choose at Last Stand. It is here that the Freebirds strut out and can’t believe their luck. They respond by accepting the challenge of the Miracle Violence Committee and announcing that the match will be an Elimination Match for the World 6 Man Title. Jim Ross tries to explain that type of match would be totally unfair as it would be 3-2. Hayes responds “Too Bad” and if you want a preview ………WATCH! The 3 Freebirds attack Williams and Manny and due to the numbers game, have their way with them. The locker room empties to calm this situation down as Ernie Ladd seems really happy in that he believes the Freebirds will be the next champions. 6. THE HACKSAW DUGGAN/TOMMY RICH VS THE RAT PACK FEUD A camera catches a parking lot attack on Rich & Duggan by Rat Pack members Dirty Dick Slater, Matt Borne and Loch Ness. Later in the show we hear that Rich and Duggan will face Slater and Borne at last stand in a steel cage match. The reason for the cage is that Watts hopes this will keep the rest of the Rat Pack from interfering in the match. As the screen fades to black with see promotions for the events in Fort Worth and the end of the year spectacular in San Antonio.

Starrcade is really shaping up nicely Another fun show here. The NWA really has a World feel now with Lutte. You two have something special here. Keep it up. -
Kabuki is already stateside! He is with me in the USWA. Magic Dragon is also listed on our free agent list so he could be picked up already.

Porkchop Cash to the USWA
-
Lance VonErich seems to be missing. He was on Gene's roster but I don't see him anymore.

USWA will draft Chris Benoit and then drop out of the draft
