World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 6/26 Airing on Friday 6/27 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest Hosted by Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance (Show opens with footage of Kerry Von Erich pinning the masked Soviet Warrior and the post match attack by "Dr. D" David Shultz, we also see The Freebirds defeat Dusty/Lance/Olympia with help from Percy Pringle…..we then get welcomed to the show by Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard) Mercer: "We'll discuss the action you just saw more in a few moments but first must announce the huge MAIN EVENT that Frank Dusek has just signed for right here tonight on television as the former North American tag team champions Jimmy Garvin and Eric Embry will get their rematch against the champions the Headhunters, Kamala and Botswana Beast…with an added stipulation….the losing team must LEAVE WCCW!" Prichard: "That's right, but from there things only get tougher for whoever has the titles as the champions will have to defend them tomorrow night in Ft. Worth against The Fabulous Ones, Steve Keirn and Stan Lane!" Mercer: "That will certainly be a huge challenge for whoever walks out of here the champions tonight. Also in action this evening will be Kevin Von Erich taking on Dory Funk Jr who wants to take Kevin out before he gets his rematch against brother Terry tomorrow night in Ft Worth in a Lumberjack Match for the Texas Heavyweight Championship." Prichard: "Speaking of Kevin Von Erich, his brother the North American Champion Kerry Von Erich will be here tonight to talk about the heinous attack by 'Dr. D' David Shultz and the obvious connection between Shultz and the Koloffs." Mercer: "All that and much, much more but right now let's go to the ring for our opening bout." MATCH #1: The Super Destroyers (#1/#2) defeated Chris Kilgore/Josh Holley when #2 pinned Holley following a Superplex (VTR: Dusty Rhodes and Mr. Olympia are sitting at a table in a bar) Dusty: "You know Mista….them Freebirds have really got our backs against the wall….they managed to get the better of us last week in San Antonio with the help of Percy Pringle….and they managed to injure our partner Lance Von Erich so it would seem that we are at a distinct disadvantage if ya weel….tomorrow night in our rematch with the Freebirds…..however, I got an unexpected phone call from a man who said he has a bone to pick with the Freebirds…..now I don't know what that's all about but the bottom line is….we need a partner….and he's just the kinda partner we need." Mr. Olympia: "That's great….but who is it Dream?" Dusty: (Smiles) "A little fella by the name……….Bruiser……Brody." Mr. Olympia: "That guy's a shady character……but that might just be what we need to win this thing." Dusty: "Mista, you took the words out my mouth…..took them words right out my mouth." COMMERCIALS MATCH #2: Steve Doll/Steve Simpson defeated Fire/Flame by pinfall when Doll pinned Fire with a small package (VTR: We see footage of Mr. Wrestling 2 getting splashed by the Headhunters and helped out of the ring in San Antonio, Marc Lowrance tells us in a voiceover that Mr. Wrestling 2 has informed management that he will be here next week with a big announcement concerning his career and the legacy of Mr. Wrestling) MATCH #3: Scott Putski pinned Randy Watson with a flying crossbody (Post Match: Marc Lowrance comes to ringside to speak with the young rookie Scott Putski) Lowrance: "Scott, welcome to the Sportatorium….and welcome to World Class Championship Wrestling it's great to have you here." Putski: "Marc, it's great to be here…..I love Dallas and my Dad always told me the greatest wrestling fans in the world are right here in Dallas, Texas." (big pop) Lowrance: "Well, your father Ivan Putski would certainly know he competed here often over the years…" (Marc is cut off my "Hustler" Rip Rogers who shows up out of nowhere) Rogers: "Now wait just one second here…..I made my triumphant return to Texas last week and nobody put a microphone in my face…..nobody asked what my Daddy thinks about Dallas." Lowrance: "I'm sorry Rip but I don't produce the shows, I just interview who I'm told and right now we're trying to speak with Scott Putski." Rogers: "Nobody cares what some wet behind the ears snotnosed punk has to say about anything….much less what his washed up old Daddy has to say…" (Putski shoves Rogers) Putski: "It's one thing to disrespect me…..but I will not stand here and listen to you disrespect my father." Rogers: "Boy, you have no idea what you've just done….how about tomorrow night you step in the ring with me kid….you won't have to 'stand there' and listen to me talk about your father….I'll put you on the mat….and you can listen to it there." (Putski jumps in the ring fired up and the fans cheer….but Rogers just laughs and walks away) COMMERCIALS (VTR: Percy Pringle is sitting next to a swimming pool wearing sunglasses, Hawaiian Shirt, and Bermuda Shorts) Percy: "After my successful return last week on tv where I burnt Jerry Lawler's stupid face off and then led my friends the Freebirds to victory against those three losers….I felt like I should treat myself and take a week off so here I am soaking up the sun and enjoying a cocktail or two poolside. However, rest assured I'll be returning in a BIG way real soon because I will soon be unveiling the next great champion in the NWA…..a man whose been mislead and mistreated…..misguided and mishandled but with my guidance…and my handling…this man will be the star he's always been destined to be…..so get ready Dallas…he's coming back…and he will be better than you've ever imagined!" MATCH #4: "Dr. D" David Shultz pinned Sammy Hall after a piledriver (We cut to the dressing room where Marc Lowrance is with Kerry Von Erich) Lowrance: "Kerry, I know you just watched David Shultz's match here on the monitory, last week he attacked you after a grueling match with the Soviet Warrior, you were attacked by 'Dr. D' David Shultz who was wearing a shirt with the hammer and sickle on the front….Does that mean he's working with the Koloff's?" Kerry: "Marc, he's neither confirmed it or denied it….but I'm pretty positive that Ivan and Nikita sent him after me and that the Soviet Warrior was only a distraction….regardless, tomorrow in Ft. Worth I'm going to be facing Shultz in an unsanctioned 'Lights Out' match and I promise you I will get my revenge for what Shultz did to me in San Antonio." Lowrance: "Meanwhile, your NWA World title shot looms in the distance, are you prepared to face Nikita Koloff for that championship in July 22nd." Kerry: "Well obviously I haven't spent as much time training as I would like, because I have to defend this North American championship and I've got guys like Shultz coming after me…..but the fact is…the Great American Bash tour is going all over place and Nikita will be defending that title at most of those events….so whose to say Koloff will even still be the champion come July 22nd….but it seems to me that the Koloffs consider me a big threat or they wouldn't be sending folks after me to try and take me out." COMMERCIALS MATCH #5: Kevin Von Erich defeated Dory Funk Jr w/Gary Hart by DQ when Hart interfered….this brought out Terry & Jimmy Jack Funk who attacked Kevin before being chased away by Kerry & Mike Von Erich with steel chairs NWA Great American Bash Control Center: Gordon Solie reporting from NWA Headquarters runs down all the top cards for the GAB from across the NWA….and does a profile on NWA World Champion Nikita Koloff and NWA World Tag Team Champions the Road Warriors (Animal/Hawk) w/Paul Ellering MATCH #6: MAIN EVENT NWA North American Tag Team Championship- Rematch "Flamboyant" Eric Embry/"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious defeated The Headhunters (Kamala/Botswana Beast) w/Gary Hart & Friday by DQ when all three Funks hit the ring and attacked Garvin/Embry…….they put quite the beatdown on them until Kevin/Kerry/Mike Von Erich hit the ring to try and even the odds but they were still outnumbered until The Fabulous Ones hit the ring and the show went off the air with a wild brawl, followed by Marc Lowrance running down tomorrow night's card in Ft. World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 6/12 Airing on Friday 6/20 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest Hosted by Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance Show opens with highlights of the NWA Texas Championship tournament ending with Terry Funk winning the title in the finals Mercer and Prichard discuss the ending of last week's show where the Midnight Rider was about to unmask, but Terry Gordy leveled the cameraman causing the show to fade to black early. Prichard said the Freebirds have promised tonight to reveal the true identity of the Midnight Rider and they promise it's NOT Dusty Rhodes. MATCH #1: Sam Houston pinned Randy Watson with a running bulldog After the match Mr. Wrestling 2 came to ringside and said he's looking for a partner to challenge for the NWA North American tag team titles tomorrow night in San Antonio, Wrestling 2 says he knows his career is starting to wind down but he knows he has one more title run left in him and he would love to win those belts alongside a wrestler such Sam Houston. Houston mulls it over for a second, then offers and handshake and agrees to be Mr. Wrestling 2's partner. MATCH #2: Jimmy Jack Funk w/Gary Hart defeated The Blue Cyclone with a swinging neckbreaker Hart takes the mic after the match and says the Headhunters will destroy Sam Houston and Mr. Wrestling 2 tomorrow night but more importantly Terry Funk will beat Kevin Von Erich just like he did in his hometown of Amarillo to retain his Texas championship, and who on earth makes a better Texas champion than Terry Funk?? COMMERCIALS (VTR: Ivan Koloff along with NWA World Champion Nikita Koloff along with a masked man who is built very similar to Kerry Von Erich stand in front of a wall with the Russian Flag draped across it) Ivan: "So Nikita, it's been made official by Fritz Von Erich that his boy Kerry will be your challenger at Great American Bash in Dallas on July 22nd. The so-called North American Champion thinks he stands a chance against a superior Russian athlete such as yourself…..well Kerry Von Erich you will learn just like all the other inferior American wrestlers that you aren't competition for the Russian Nightmare. I loved the interaction with Houston/JJ...you've done a really great job making each challenger seem like they are going to be the one to win the cash! I agree with the consensus the Awesome Twosome are destined for great things in the tag team division....they would make awesome champions because they make great opponents for not only teams like the Road Warriors and SST but teams like The Rock & Roll Express and The Von Erichs as well. Orndorff and Duggan are getting over great as your top babyfaces with Dibiase and Race making strong top heels as well.

Carlos is officially on the comeback trail, bad news for Abby! Ricky Santana has brought out a big gun to watch his back, LeDuc is tailor made for WWC. Great Sports Shop with Dutch, a lot of ground and backstory was covered, looking forward to how this proceeds.

Heatstroke is going to be a great show, a really strong card! Wow, HUGE win for Keith Hart over OMG! Should create some great momentum for him. Brian Adias has really made a splash in the mid card here in Lutte, he may wanna relocate from Texas! Great main event, as mentioned the SST are perfect opponents for the Warriors...the fans had to feel they had a great chance at seeing a title change here.

Yeah, I thought it would it would be a fun twist to the classic angle where instead of the Freebirds trying to get the mask off the Rider, they are fighting to keep it on.

MATCH #1: Hillbilly Jim w/Uncle Elmer defeated Sammy Hall with a bearhug (After the match, "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase enters the ring) Dibiase: "Well well well….what a wonderful surprise this must be for you penny pinching Texas peons to get to see the NWA United States Champion unadvertised here in this dump you call a wrestling arena. Normally appearing in a place like this is beneath me but I just had to come here in person to deliver what's in this briefcase…..so right now I'd like the Fabulous Freebirds to please come down to the ring." (Badstreet USA blares throughout the Sportatorium as Michael Hayes struts down the aisle leading Gordy and Roberts to the ring) Hayes: "Mr. Dibiase, it's a pleasure to see you and please accept our apologies for the smell of the arena and these awful Texas fans as well." Dibiase: (laughs) "Well Michael, ordinarily I would say that would be in order but the considering the reason I'm here tonight…it's all well worth it. I just want to say, "job well done" on getting rid of that fat son of a plumber…and of course I'm referring to these people's hero, the so-called American Dream…Dusty Rhodes." Gordy: "Teddy, it was our pleasure to get rid of that no good low down Dusty Rhodes….and we almost feel bad taking money for it….but we'll take it all the same." Dibiase: "Bam Bam, I'm sure you will…..but here it is…as promised…$150,000." Hayes: "Thank you very much Mr. Dibiase sir, truly a pleasure doing business with you." (Hayes reaches for the briefcase but Gordy grabs it first and opens it) Dibiase: "Trust me Terry, it's all there…..one small detail though. You guys sure are in a big rush to get that money……what if Dusty changes his mind and comes back to wrestling." Gordy: "Trust me…he won't! We put it on him real good, I promise ya!" Dibiase: "Well….I'm just saying if he was to return…then it would mean you didn't get the job done and I'd expect every dime of that money back!" Hayes: "Don't sweat it Mr. Dibiase, it's taken care of it." Dibiase: "In that case…thank you gentlemen…I've got a plane to catch…I wanna get the hell out of Dallas as quickly as possible!" (The Freebirds escort Dibiase down the aisle and out of the building) COMMERCIALS MATCH #2: The Headhunters (Kamala/Botswana Beast) w/Gary Hart & Friday defeat The Hammer Brothers (Jack/Sledge) when Kamala pinned Jack Hammer after a splash off the top rope (Marc Lowrance enters the ring and welcomes tonight's special guest NWA President Bob Geigel) Marc: "Mr. Geigel, I understand you've been reviewing some recent events here in World Class and have a couple of things you want to discuss." Geigel: "That's right Marc, I certainly do. It's been brought to my attention that there's been some downright disgraceful acts take place here in World Class and as President of the NWA, I feel it's my duty to come here and try to restore some order. The first order of business is the actions of one Ernie Ladd and this group he's dubbed the Revolution. At the Parade of Champions, these men stormed the ring in more than one match and attacked wrestlers and won titles through nefarious means. They attacked and injured Scott Hall to the point that he's no longer able to compete in WCCW. Six men came into the ring and attacked the North American Champions Eric Embry and Jimmy Garvin and not only cost them the North American tag team championships, but also interfered in their rematch as well. Therefore I would like to announce that Ernie Ladd, Iceman Parsons, Brickhouse Brown, Koko Ware, Leroy Brown, and Ray Candy have all been fined and suspended from WCCW…..and furthermore the North American tag team titles have been returned to Embry and Garvin….and the Television title is currently held up until further notice." Marc: "WOW…that's a blockbuster announcement!" Geigel: "Yes sir, and I'm not done. I would like for the Freebirds to come back out here to the ring." (The Freebirds come to the ring sans ring music this time) Hayes: "President Geigel, you're looking well. How are you enjoying our fine city of Dallas, sir?" Geigel: "Save it Michael, I've been in meetings all week and reviewed the tape of Dibiase's proposition of a bounty on Dusty Rhodes, as well as the attack you three perpetrated on Dusty and his acknowledgement here tonight that he was paying you the said 'bounty', therefore I'm agreeing with Fritz Von Erich and fining you each $50,000 for your part in this attack on Dusty Rhodes." Gordy: (grabs Geigel by the collar) "Have you lost your damn mind??" (Hayes grabs Gordy and holds him back) Geigel: "No Mr. Gordy, but If you touch me again you will have lost your job!! You have until the end of this television program to surrender that briefcase full of cash in full payment of your fine or else be suspended and stripped of the NWA World Six Man Tag Team titles." (Freebirds are stomping around in disbelief) "Now, you'll be glad to know….that I've already allocated those funds to something useful….Since the action is so out of control here recently in World Class and tempers are running high….I'm using that money to pay for a structure that will be used to provide the wrestlers here in WCCW the 'ultimate battleground' to settle the score. It will be constructed just in time for the Great American Bash here in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl, it's called the 'WAR GAMES, the Match Beyond' and you'll learn more about it from Fritz Von Erich in the weeks to come." (Geigel starts to exit, but Mr. Olympia enters the ring) Olympia: "Mr. Geigel, I'm sorry to bother you….but I have a bit of a bone to pick with the Freebirds here and it can't wait til the Great American Bash…..you see last week in Houston, they took out my partner the Junk Yard Dog. But my other partner Jerry Lawler and I have found a replacement and we wanted a rematch against the Freebirds." Geigel: "Well, the list of contenders for those Six Man Titles is quite long and you guys just had a shot." Olympia: "Oh, it doesn't have to be a title shot….we just want a match with the Freebirds….you see our partner RODE in last night around MIDNIGHT….and he's just itching to get in the ring with the Freebirds." Geigel: "Sir, I think these great fans would love to see that match…..so how about we make that our main event right here this evening!" (The Freebirds are beside themselves as they stomp away) COMMERCIALS MATCH #3: Sam Houston pinned "Cowboy" Don Bass with a running bulldog Marc Lowrance reminds everyone the NWA Texas Heavyweight Title tournament will be taking place over the next two nights in Amarillo! Also just signed for tomorrow night: NWA North American Tag Team Title Match: Eric Embry/Jimmy Garvin w/Precious & Big Bubba Rogers vs. Kamala/Botswana Beast w/Gary Hart & Friday MATCH #4: The Dirty White Boys (Len Denton/Tony Anthony) defeated Steve Simpson/Steve Doll when Denton pinned Simpson with a swinging neckbreaker (A clip airs of Michael Hayes grudgingly handing over the briefcase to Bob Geigel) COMMERCIALS MATCH #5: MAIN EVENT The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes/Buddy Roberts/Terry Gordy) NWA World Six Man Tag Team Champions Vs. Mr. Olympia/Jerry 'the King' Lawler/The Midnight Rider Highlights: A large portion of the match was the Midnight Rider teasing taking off his own mask and the Freebirds scrambling to cut him off….after about 8 minutes the match broke into a six way and the Midnight Rider pinned Buddy Roberts after an elbow drop. Afterwards, Midnight Rider took the mic and in an all too familiar voice said: Rider: "So….let me get this straight here…if ya weel….If I was to take off this here mask…and I was to just so happen to be the American Dream Dusty Rhodes……you Freebirds would now owe Ted Dibiase $150,000 that you no longer have thanks to the NWA President….is that about the size of it?" Hayes: "Well…IF you were Dusty…yeah…BUT, your not Dusty because he retired so I'm positive you're just that imposter Dirty Rhodes back here under a mask because you lost that loser leave town match." Rider: "Well Mikey….let's just see who it is under this mask.." I agree with Spaldoni, you've got Ivan's promos down so well...it really adds to the angle. Same for the Honky Tonk Man as well, when Lawler gets wind of all this trash talk there will be hell to pay! Great win for Bullet Bob over Khan, classic Southern Main Event!

Love the Superstar and JJ interaction on tv....Superstar is ideal for the challenge! Snuka vs. Kernodle for the National title is pretty hard to top but then you do it with Dibiase vs. Backlund in the main....great show!

Great win for Hennig, as Dawho5 said, you've built him amazingly well here as a babyface and I'm really rooting for him to take the TV title Another great SNME coming up which is always my favorite, you've captured the feel of the so well. It's so much fun to see Wahoo rubbing shoulders with Hogan, it's truly a bizzaro world here these days and I love it!

Hansen vs. Shultz is just amazing to imagine...what a brawl! What a promo from Borne! I love this character, you've really tapped into something with him...can't wait to see him face the King! The Fabs vs. Rougeaus is a great main event! The SST made a bold choice attacking both teams!
