Great series of shows here. Rick Martel is the man in Lutte! Black Bart is making a splash here, looking forward to this title happening in Texas!

Great stuff, I liked the precursor to the eventual Survivor Series...always one of my favorite events growing, I hated when they eventually went away from the team concept for the whole event.

Checkmate in my WCCW is Les Thornton, there's been a lot of debate on whether it was him IRL in WCCW, some people swear it was, others say the time frame doesn't match up but in this case it's Thornton. -

I was watching some WCCW from '85 and saw a lot of Dave "DJ" Peterson (whom I had forgotten about). From everything I can find he debuted in late '83 or '84. Looking across the rosters I don't see him unless I just overlooked him. Has he been active in the game and just fell off or did he slip through the cracks, if so I would like to either pick him up or get him added to the '86 Fresh Face draft.

(Kevin takes the mic) Kevin: "On behalf of the entire Von Erich family, We want to thank all the wonderful Continental wrestling fans for all your support and we wish the UWF nothing but the best. Thank you and God bless!" -
Huge News coming out of UWF Continental Championship Wrestling Sources close to Fritz Von Erich say "all hell broke loose" this week as Fritz watched the UWF Music CIty Mayhem event. Word is that as soon as John Nord (Vlad the Russian Hammer) squashed David Sammartino, Fritz called the Fairgrounds cussing out Bill Watts accusing him of sabotaging his main event for Reunion Arena in Dallas. After some heated words, Watts hung up on Fritz. Things have already been in turmoil as Ron Fuller refused to come to Dallas for television resulting in them running "clip shows" the past two weeks. Things got worse as Watts then had the Road Warriors pin BOTH Jumbo Tsuruta and Genichiro Tenryu who have been heavily pushed by Von Erich....Fritz called Ron Fuller and told him to meet him in Birmingham on Monday night as he would sell him his interest in Continental after the show and that he would be going back to Texas to reopen World Class Championship Wrestling and that "Watts and Jarrett can shove the UWF up their ass!" This brings forth another issue as Bill Watts has told Dusty Rhodes that he cannot appear at the David Von Erich Parade of Champions in Dallas, Fritz however has offered to double Dusty's pay if he makes the shot. So now the question is....Will Dusty work the show since it won't be a UWF sanctioned show? Will Fritz have David Sammartino pin Dusty as revenge for the John Nord squash?? It will also be interesting to see which wrestlers end up where when the dust settles from all this!

UWF/CCW Television Recorded on September 10, 1985 at the empty Sportatorium in Dallas, TX Airing on Florida Superstation WTOG, Texas Superstation WTVT, and various television outlets throughout Alabama and Mississippi on September 14, 1985 Hosted by Marc Lowrance Marc Lowrance welcomes everyone to the 'World Famous Sportatorium" for this week's episode of Continental Championship Wrestling…..He says Fritz Von Erich will join us today with a HUGE announcement about the David Von Erich Parade of Champions and as well as some big news for the great Texas wrestling fans. But first we will take a look at some action from Beach Brawl in Miami, Florida: UWF Southern Heavyweight Championship Mr. Olympia Vs. Freddie Blassie's Mystery Challenger "Classy" Freddie Blassie's mystery challenger turned out to be the legendary former multiple time World Champion "Handsome" Harley Race! Race went on to pin Mr. Olympia after a piledriver to win the UWF Southern Heavyweight Championship =============================================================== Fritz Von Erich joins Marc to announce that not only is wrestling back in Dallas but it will soon be returning to Amarillo and Houston as well…..Big news coming next week!! But, speaking of big news….Fritz announces that the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes will be teaming up with the one and only "MODERN DAY WARRIOR" KERRY VON ERICH to take on Bruno/David Sammartino at the David Von Erich Parade of Champions at Reunion Arena in Dallas on Sunday September 22nd! Fritz says we're going to take a look at Kerry in recent action, right now! (Footage courtesy of WWF Wrestling Challenge) Kerry Von Erich vs The Missing Link w/ Gary Hart (in a slick new suit) -Let the rumors run rampant as Gary Hart is dressed to the 9s. He has got a slick new outfit on and he has got his man, the Missing Link ready to go. We see Link give Kerry a good run for his money, but Link doesn’t have what it takes to go up against the Modern Day Warrior. We see Kerry get the crowd going before delivering a couple of HUGE shots including that flying “Warrior Punch” as he calls it now that puts Link down and then Kerry locks in the claw and gets the 3-count. =============================================================== Marc Lowrance says we're going to take a look at the match that led to the Main Event next week in Dallas, the match from Beach Brawl in Miami, Florida: SEMI-MAIN EVENT THE RECKONING STEEL CAGE FINAL SHOWDOWN Special Referee: Bruno Sammartino "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes Vs. "The Living Legacy" David Sammartino As the match started David tried to climb out of the cage but Bruno pulled him back down and shouted at him "fight like a man!", Dusty controlled most of the match with some offense from David scattered here and there….both men were bloodied after being raked against the cage..Bruno mostly stayed out of the way and let them fight…but when it looked like Dusty was about to get the win, David reached in his trunks and pulled out the 'knux' that's been scoring him victories lately….Dusty grabbed his arm and pried the knux out of David's hand and then handed them to Bruno……Dusty then locked a sleeper on David in the center of the ring……Bruno lifted David's arm once and it dropped, he lifted it a 2nd time…and it dropped…..as he Bruno lifted David's arm a third time with his left arm….from out of nowhere he came around with a right with the knux on his fist and knocked Dusty out cold….David falls back on top of Dusty as he goes down….Bruno slowly counts…1---2--3!!! The Orlando crowd is IN SHOCK!! At first there's just stunned silence and then it turned into a near riot as fans threw things at the cage and some started trying to rush the cage and security and local police fought to escort the Sammartinos out of the cage and back to the locker room ================================================================= Marc Lowrance runs down the card for this Monday night in Birmingham, Alabama: CCW Fall Brawl Tour 1985 Boutwell Auditorium Birmingham, AL. Wow, Jumbo and Tenryu both get pinned at the same time...didn't see that one coming. Lawler vs. Dibiase should be fun for sure.

Great series of shows here! So many great match ups but one that stuck out to me was Kabuki vs. Bock, great finish to this one as well.
-
Great tag team matches on this card!

I literally pictured Kolloff killing comedian Jim Jefferies with a Russian Sickle. I like how the Blade Runner slipped in there... Fun shows
