  1. Excited to see you back, I've always felt the Japan tours add a fun element to the game and I look forward to seeing how Terry Gordy fairs in January!
  2. I've always preferred Dr. Death as a heel, this should be fun seeing him fued with Hacksaw! King of the Mountain will be quite interesting to see who comes out on top. Count me in with everyone who thinks the Texas Tornados have huge potential in th long term as a team!
  3. Great show! I hope no one thought Ric Flair would just go quietly into the night...it seems Martel has lit a fire in the Nature Boy, he's after everybody!
  4. World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 12/19 Airing on Friday 12/27 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest. Hosted by Bill Mercer Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance Mercer: "What an amazing night it was on Christmas as WCCW brought you Christmas Day Star Wars and the NWA brought you Starrcade from TWO different locations…the biggest night in pro wrestling in the year 1985 and a new World Heavyweight Champion was crowned as Rick Martel defeated 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair to unify the World Championships. We also saw new NWA World Tag Team Champions crowned as the Andersons, Arn and Ole captured the titles from Lord Humongous and the Botswana Beast. Our very own Kerry Von Erich won a huge 2 ring $100,000 Battle Royal and so much other great action took place that we will discuss it all in depth in the weeks to come but right now I want to speak to Fritz Von Erich about the suspension of Big John Studd." Fritz: "After the heinous attack by Big John Studd on my son Mike Von Erich, the NWA Board of Directors suspended Big John Studd and declared he could not return to action until he paid a $10,000 fine, a fine that he refused to pay on Christmas night which kept him out of the NWA North American tag team title match which his partners lost. He has since still refused to pay the fine….but I'm here to announce that as of 30 minutes ago John Studd's suspension has been lifted as his $10,000 fine has been paid by none other than my boy Kerry Von Erich who took ten grand of his Starrcade winnings to pay Studd's fine so that he, Kevin, and my nephew Lance Von Erich….can take on Studd, Grappler, the Spoiler this Saturday night in Houston at the Sam Houston Coliseum in hopes of gaining revenge on Studd for his attack on their brother Mike in Amarillo." Mercer: "WOW! You wanna talk about a huge statement…..Kerry Von Erich shilling out ten grand of his Starrcade winnings just to get a chance at Big John Studd tells you exactly how serious the Von Erichs are about getting revenge on the Pringle Dynasty…more on all this later but right now let's go to the ring for action here on World Class Championship Wrestling!" MATCH #1: The Desperados (Black Bart/Ron Bass) w/Killer Brooks defeated Jed Johnson/Brett Jackson when Bass pinned Johnson after a shoulder breaker (Marc Lowrance catches up to the Desperados in the dressing room) Marc: "Bart, things didn't exactly go your way in Quebec City against Jacques Rougeau." Bart: "Now listen here dadgummit….them stinkin' dadgum cheatin' Canadian referees up there had the fix in before we even got up there! It ain't no coincidence I beat his stinkin' brains out ever time we fought in Texas so they had to bring me up there to Canada where them Cousteaus own all the referees and they screwed me out that Canadian Intercontinental title….I hate Canada and I hope I never go there ever again….if Jock Cousteau has any guts he'll come back to Texas to fight me…..but enough about that goof….this Saturday in Houston, me and Ron Bass get a shot at the tag belts against the Funk Brothers….the Funk Brothers aren't real Texans like me and Ronnie Bass….they're a couple of wannabes…there a joke and those belts will be ours come Saturday night!" COMMERCIAL MATCH #2: "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley pinned The Intern with a running bulldog (A pre-taped promo airs with Austin Idol and Gary Hart) Hart: "The thing that took place in the main event at Christmas Star Wars was a travesty and an embarrassment….A man who was supposedly suspended is allowed to come to the ring and interfere in a title match and cost my man Austin Idol the championship…..So I'm saying this right now, Fritz Von Erich better make this right and make this right soon…..Austin Idol deserves a rematch and it better happen soon…and Percy Pringle better come apologize and make this right or he'll have hell to pay too." Idol: "Kevin Von Erich, you should get down on your knees and thank Big John Studd because he is the ONLY reason you still have that title…..Let me make this VERY VERY clear…I don't fear you Big John Studd and one day our paths will cross and you will answer for ruining my Christmas….but until then you can wait and wonder when and where it will happen….but I will get my revenge in due time one way or another….if you don't believe me, just go to Puerto Rico and ask Dutch Mantell." MATCH #3: The Mighty Kokina w/Gary Hart pinned Will Owens after a 'big splash' COMMERCIAL MATCH #4: Lance Von Erich pinned Sammy Hall with a flying cross body off the top rope (Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin, Precious, and Eric Embry join Bill Mercer in the dressing room area) Garvin: "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!! Bill Mercer…no one had a better Christmas than me and my squeeze with me successfully defending my title by single handedly beating Roddy Piper in the center of the ring!" Mercer: "Single handedly? Center of the ring? Eric Embry helped you beat Piper!" Embry: "No I didn't!! You weren't even there, you have no idea what happened!" Mercer: "I haven't seen the footage but I was told what happened and you obviously weren't here in Dallas for your match with Bad News Allen!" Garvin: "So you just believe whatever you are told?? Trust me, I beat Piper on my own fair and square and Eric was NOT in Greensboro for Starrcade." Mercer: "If he wasn't in Greensboro, then where was he? Why did he no show his match with Bad News Allen for the Texas title?" Embry: "Well you see….I was uh…..I um…" (Garvin interjects) Garvin: "Listen Mercer, not that it's ANY of your business but I'll tell you where Eric was on Christmas night because he's too modest to tell you. Every Christmas, Eric goes out and brings toys to orphans and provides a warm lap…..I mean meal for single moms all across Texas….that's why he didn't show up to wrestle Bad News because he was out there picking up Santa's slack on Christmas night which was far more important than the Texas title." Mercer: "Well if that's true, then it's commendable but I have it on good authority that he was under the ring in Greensboro causing Roddy Piper to get counted out." Garvin: "Well that's just absurd….I mean it's a genius idea and I wish we had thought of it but I just straight up beat Piper, one on one…and that's all you need to report here on WCCW regardless of what sort of lies they tell on Mid Atlantic Wrestling in the next few weeks!' MATCH #5: MAIN EVENT WCCW Television Championship "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious & Eric Embry defeated Mr. Wrestling 2 by DQ when Bad News Allen ran in and attacked Garvin, Embry runs in and attacks Bad News but Iceman Parsons runs in to even the odds as Mr. Wrestling 2 looks on in disgust at ringside. © 1985 Southwest Sports Inc. 5. Actually Hamilton wrestled pretty regularly throughout '86 as the Flame in Continental and into '87 as the Assassin in Deep South.
  6. Haha...you know me too well! However no one is prepared for his "little" brother Ottmahn Singh!!
  7. Gary Hart has a plan!
  8. WCCW drops Billy Travis and picks up Mike Shaw.
  9. Huge wins for Benoit and Regal here! Impressive victory for the Beast considering the tear that Tonga has been on as of late.
  10. Interesting turn of events with Rich saving Lawler...the Russians will be a tall order for those two. Really hoping to see Butch Reed break out in '86 as a major player in the UWF World title scene. Luger/Baby Doll make for a fun pairing that should be interesting watch!
  11. Going to be going out of town for the holidays in the morning but wanted to take a moment to tell you guys Merry Christmas and how much I enjoy being a part of this project! Thanks for having me and I look forward to us all carrying this on for years to come! Happy Holidays guys!!
  12. Wow, so proud to be a part of this SuperCard! A lot of hard work and months of build up went into this and it paid off in a big way. Looking forward to seeing Martel as World champ and I feel like he has tons of potential...this is one of those pivital moments in the game where things go in a new direction and explore what "might have been" IRL. Huge win for King Tonga over Leduc which should springboard him to the top of the card in Lutte. Happy to see the Andersons with the World tag team titles to help hold the Horsemen together with some tough losses for Flair and Blanchard. Huge win for Kerry Von Erich which should help put him in the mix to challenge Rick Martel sooner or later. 1986 is going to be a banner year for the NWA!
  13. WCCW Christmas Star Wars Reunion Arena Dallas, TX. Wednesday December 25, 1985 Bell Time: 4pm The Mighty Kokina w/"Playboy" Gary Hart pinned DJ Peterson after a 'big splash' "Iceman" King Parsons pinned "Killer" Tim Brooks with a small package Marc Lowrance talks to Fritz Von Erich about the condition of Mike Von Erich after Big John Studd's unprovoked attack after the six man tag match in Amarillo on 12/21. Fritz said that due to the nature of the attack by Big John Studd, the NWA Board of Directors have ruled that Big John Studd has been suspended pending a review of the footage and will not be allowed to compete tonight and that Percy Pringle has opted to have the Spoiler take his place tonight to defend the title against the Funks. Fritz then announced that his nephew Lance Von Erich would be coming into the territory to take Mike's bookings until Mike has recovered from injury which is expected to be 6 to 8 weeks. Mil Mascaras pinned Shane Douglas w/Mr. Wrestling II with a flying crossbody Loser Leaves Texas Mr. Olympia defeated Sir David Sammartino w/Lord Alfred Hayes with a sleeperhold NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship Bad News Allen Vs. "Iceman" King Parsons comes to the ring and says if Bad News doesn't have a challenger, he has never received his rematch for the Texas title and this seems like a perfect time for a rematch since neither Garvin or Embry are here to cost him the match this time…….Bad News takes offense to this insinuation that Garvin and Embry are the reason he's the champ and agrees to the match! NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship Bad News Allen defeated "Iceman" King Parsons by pinfall after hitting the 'Ghetto Blaster' WCCW World Six Man Tag Team Championship Hot Stuff/Hyatt International (Gilbert/Sting/Rogers) w/Missy Hyatt fought The Fabulous Freebirds (Hayes/Gordy/Roberts) to a 'No Contest' when the match brokedown into a six way fight on the floor and all were counted out NWA North American Tag Team Championship The Funks (Terry/Dory Jr) defeated The Pringle Dynasty (The Grappler/The Spoiler) w/Percival Pringle III when Terry Funk made the Spoiler submit to the Spinning Toe Hold to win the Championships, Terry came to the ring wearing a t-shirt that said 'R.I.P. Mad Dog' on the front MAIN EVENT NWA North American Heavyweight Championship Kevin Von Erich defeated "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol w/"Playboy" Gary Hart by DQ when Big John Studd hit the ring and attacked Kevin Von Erich….He pressed Kevin over his head and attempted to throw him out to the floor like he did Mike but Kevin was able to reach down and lock in the 'Iron Claw', meanwhile Austin Idol chop blocked Studd from behind and started putting the boots to Von Erich and Studd enraged that Studd cost him his title match….Gary Hart screamed, "Damn you Percy!!" as he lead Idol back down the aisle.
  14. Sad with the passing of Mad Dog but what a great final match he had in there with Big Jos Leduc and Jacques Rougeau!
  15. Great job establishing who the players are and getting over their characters these past few weeks. Another great Chicky's Sport Shop, it's such a great tool for furthering angles! Madril is such a great heel and you doing an awesome job establishing that, looking forward to the Three Kings Day show
  16. What an incredible SNME, the interplay with Dibiase and the Heenan Family working together against Hogan keeps you on your toes unsure of what's going to happen next. The thing that always stands out to me is how you've perfected the opening promos and the way the actions works around the commercial breaks. Awesome work!

  19. World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 12/19 Airing on Friday 12/20 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest. Hosted by Bill Mercer Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance Highlights of Kevin Von Erich winning the NWA North American Championship tournament, followed by the opening montage, we then go to our host Bill Mercer Mercer: "Hello and welcome once again to World Class Championship Wrestling sanctioned by the NWA. We just saw highlights of the tournament in Houston, Texas where Kevin Von Erich came out victorious to become the new NWA North American Heavyweight Champion! We'll be hearing from Kevin later on in this program…(enter "Playboy" Gary Hart). Fans, I've been joined by none other than Gary Hart…Mr. Hart I don't have you listed to be here this evening." Hart: "Yet, here I am all the same. You see, Mr. Mercer the reason I am here is simple…..I don't like the Von Erichs….never have….never will. I've been pondering a return to Texas but with Kevin Von Erich winning that North American Championship it seemed to me like a prime time to return and take that title away from him." Mercer: "You? You personally are going to step in the ring and take the title from Kevin Von Erich?" Hart: "While the idea of that is nowhere near as absurd as you try to make it seem, Mr. Mercer….NO! I will not be stepping into the ring to take the title from lil Kevin Von Erich. I have a man who is more than capable of taking that title from him…..a man that Kevin Von Erich was never able to beat for the UWF Championship this past year…..if you don't know who this man is….you will find out a little later on tonight!" MATCH #1: Mr. Olympia defeated Will Owens with a sleeperhold (Marc Lowrance approaches Olympia at ringside-post match) Marc: "Mr. Olympia, at Christmas Day Star Wars you have the opportunity for revenge on a man you've had many battles with throughout 1985….David Sammartino." Olympia: "Not only do I get a chance at revenge…..but I get the chance to run him completely out of the state of Texas! I intend to not only run Sammartino out of Texas, but that jerk Alfred Hayes as well!" COMMERCIAL (Bill Mercer is joined by Shane Douglas) Mercer: "I'm joined by Shane Douglas who has made his way here to World Class Championship Wrestling and this Tuesday in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma you will be competing against some of the top Lightheavyweights in the World to crown the new NWA World Lightheavyweight Champion." Douglas: "That's right Mr. Mercer, it's a huge honor having only been competing in the wrestling business for a short time to get the opportunity to compete for a World Championship, some guys go their whole career without getting this type of opportunity and you can bet I will make the very most of it! My mentor Mr. Wrestling II has been in the gym with me working overtime and I've got a tough opponent in the first round taking on Pat Tanaka from the AWA and I hope to walk out of OKC with that championship belt!" Mercer: "But before we get to Oklahoma City, right here tonight you and Mr. Wrestling 2 get the chance to earn a shot at the North American tag team champions in a Four Corners Match tonight in our Main Event." Douglas: "We sure do, competing against three of the top teams in wrestling and I'm looking forward to taking on the Funk Brothers for sure." COMMERCIAL FOR NWA STARRCADE '85 (Badstreet USA plays over the PA as Michael Hayes and Buddy Roberts make their way to ringside to join Marc Lowrance) Marc: "Michael, I know you guys have signed for a rematch for the WCCW World Six Man Tag Team Championship against Hot Stuff/Hyatt International at Christmas Day Wrestling Star Wars, but Eddie Gilbert hit Terry Gordy in the face with a fireball in Houston and I see 'Bam Bam' is not here tonight." Hayes: "Yeah, 'Bam Bam' took a fireball to the face from that low life coward Eddie Gilbert….and no he's not here tonight but mark my words Marc Lowrance, Brother 'Bam Bam' will be in Reunion Arena on Christmas night and there's nothing those clowns can do to ANY of the Freebirds to keep us down! Now, take a look at what Buddy 'Jack' and myself can do on our own, then just imagine how much trouble those guys will be in when Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy joins us at Christmas Star Wars….the only thing worse than coming to Badstreet, Marc Lowrance….is when Badstreet…comes to you! Get ready Gilbert, Sting, and Rip Rogers….because you boys are in for the longest night of your lives!" MATCH #2: The Fabulous Freebirds (Hayes/Roberts) defeated Jed Johnson/Phil Wilson when Hayes pinned Wilson after a 'Running Bulldog'…..after the match Gilbert slid in the ring and tried to hit Hayes with a fireball but hit Jed Johnson instead, Hayes and Roberts chased Gilbert up the aisle and out of the arena! COMMERCIAL (We return from the break with "Flamboyant" Eric Embry at ringside with Marc Lowrance) Embry: "Everybody saw last week when I had Roddy Piper right where I wanted him….moments from pinning his shoulders to the mat and cancelling the Starrcade match between Piper and your Television Champion "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin when that no good snake in the grass Bad News Allen came out here and cost me the biggest match of my career! You all saw it, I would have beaten Piper if it wasn't for his blatant interference. It was an absolute disgrace and I want Bad News Allen fined, suspended, and possibly jailed for his actions here on television last week!" (Frank Dusek comes to ringside) Dusek: "Eric, Fritz and I have reviewed the tape…..I don't know if I agree with everything you just said but there's no doubt that Bad News did interfere in your match last week. Now we could fine him…..we could even suspend him….I don't think there's grounds to jail him….however, we've chosen to take another course of action that I think you being a 'man's man' such as you are should appreciate. We're going to give you an opportunity to get revenge on Bad News….not only get revenge on Bad News…but the opportunity to take his Texas Championship in a match on Christmas night." Embry: "Listen, I appreciate that chance for revenge…I really do….and any other time I would beat Bad News within an inch of his life…and sure it would be nice to wrestle on Starrcade but I'll be busy being in Jimmy Garvin's corner that night when he fights Roddy Piper." Dusek: "Umm Eric, No one said anything about you fighting Bad News at Starrcade….You won't be in Jimmy Garvin's corner in Greensboro because you will be in DALLAS, TEXAS fighting Bad News Brown at Christmas Day Wrestling Star Wars…..Now enough talking, you've got a match with another man who will be competing in the Lightheavyweight title tournament….'Superstar' Bill Dundee!" MATCH #3: "Superstar" Bill Dundee pinned "Flamboyant" Eric Embry with a school boy roll up when Bad News Allen came to ringside and distracted Embry causing him to get pinned A highlight video of the Mighty Kokina is shown showing clips of Kokina destroying various wrestlers in the ring in Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling…followed by a graphic stating "The Mighty Kokina makes his WCCW debut at Christmas Wrestling Star Wars!" (Gary Hart is standing in the ring after the Kokina promo) Hart: "It is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you the man who has Kevin Von Erich's number, the man Kevin Von Erich can't beat and the man Kevin Von Erich will be too much of a coward to face on Christmas Day in Reunion Arena….THE UNIVERSAL HEARTTHROB AUSTIN IDOL!!" MATCH #4: "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol w/"Playboy" Gary Hart defeated Chris Kilgore by submission with the 'Las Vegas Leglock' (Kevin Von Erich comes to the ring post match and grabs a mic) Kevin: "Gary Hart….you're in luck, I need a challenger for Christmas Star Wars and I'd like nothing better than to step in the ring with Austin Idol and defend this title…..challenge accepted!" 20. Not to mention, he's always lyin' to his friends...
  21. Honestly, the original plan was for Kerry to win but Kerry got booked on the Starrcade card Christmas night and I needed the North American title defended at the Christmas Star Wars card in Dallas so I piveted to Kevin getting the title instead.
  22. When asked if he will be coming to Quebec solo, Black Bart replied, "Not dadgum likely!"
  23. Great show with great character developement for a roster that many may not be familiar with. Great job with the promos, for instance I could hear Dutch Mantell's saying every bit of that as I read it.
  24. Great format for Mid Atlantic, and the Piper vs. Garvin match gets even more heated! Magnum vs. Blanchard should live up to real life here with the great build up. So many great matches on the Starrcade card but as a kid in '85 I would have been so fascinated with the two "monsters" facing off Kamala vs. Abby! I also would have been severely worried about the chances of my favorite tag team against Brody/Hansen....can't wait to see that one play out.
  25. WCCW drops the following guys into Free Agency to make room for those picked up in the draft Pez Whatley Ted Allen Man Mountain Link Mark Lewin Chic Donovan Ted Arcidi Les Thornton
