Johnny V interjects that his surprise appearance as the new manager of the Moondogs was the 2nd most amazing moment of the two shows….2nd only to the victory of Sir David Sammartino over Adrian Adonis at Holiday Wars that led to Adonis' departure from World Class. Mercer agreed that was a shocking moment but none was more shocking that Rick Martel defeating King Harley Race for the WCCW World Heavyweight Championship! He says that word is that Harley Race is so distraught over the loss that he has walked out of World Class Championship Wrestling and has vowed never to return….Lord Alfred Hayes refused to comment on the situation at this time. Match #1: Hot Stuff/Hyatt International (Sting/Eddie Gilbert) w/ Missy Hyatt defeated "Jumpin" Jed Johnson/Bret Jackson when Gilbert pinned Johnson after the 'Hot Shot' Marc Lowrance is at ringside discussing two huge events coming up as WCCW presents Christmas Day Star Wars and WCCW will also be taking part in NWA Starrcade! Marc welcomes Fritz Von Erich and asks him what's the current status of World Class' partnership with the NWA. Fritz says that the WCCW World Champion Rick Martel will be taking on NWA World Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair and this will be a unification match crowning one World Champion moving forward, meaning that WCCW will then recognize the winner of that match the World Heavyweight Champion. There will be a tournament announced next week to crown the NWA Western States Champion who will be the top champion of WCCW and the #1 Contender to the Unified World Champion. Effective immediately the WCCW World Tag Team Champions will become the NWA Western States Tag Team Champions and the NWA World Tag Team titles will now be recognized here in World Class. As a part of this partnership with the NWA you will see various NWA stars competing here in World Class and you'll see our stars competing across the country in various other NWA promotions. Agreed on the star power of Colon...in this area there is no one more over! What a great tag match pairing Colon/Ayala vs. Chicky/Madril. Madril and Chicky Starr are great heels and will surely have many more battles to come with these two.

Damn...that's such a creative way for Dusty to go out, ultimate sacrifice for the fans so if he ever comes back he has their sympathy and respect...well done! Great stuff with Lawler and Dundee that keeps everybody guessing.

WCCW Dirt Sheet News A lot of shocking developments recently with WCCW with Rick Martel winning their World Championship from King Harley Race and their co-promotion with NWA Lutte International. Although it was not originally in the cards, word is that Fritz Von Erich is 90% sold on the idea of joining the NWA. It would seem having the World Class World Heavyweight Championship involved in a Champion vs. Champion match at Starrcade may be the first step in that process. It will be interesting to see how this develops. The only question that remains is if WCCW joining the NWA would cause friction for Fritz and Vince McMahon who is currently using WCCW as a place to develop his younger stars such as Ray Traylor and currently Sting. If Fritz can work that out it seems this could be a great partnership for everyone involved especially with Mid Atlantic currently in a state of flux with some booking changes within the Crockett organization. The only person who doesn't seem to be happy with this turn of events who was said to be unhappy with dropping the title to Rick Martel as Fritz had promised him he would be champion until at least March where he would likely drop the belt to Kerry Von Erich who may not be thrilled with these developments either. It's been said that Harley may be looking to leave WCCW due to all this change but there's also a chance that Fritz can appease him and keep him in Texas. We will continue to follow this story as it develops.
