Impressive showing by Super Ninja, great job establishing your roster right of the gate.
-
No problems here...my opinion is if no on has missed someone in the game this long, the person who points it out should get them...but Leduc should be safe in the draft.
-
Loved the whole interim champions angle with the Rockers, looking forward to seeing them square off with Samu/Fatu for the titles.
-
Vlad has gold...don't see anybody being able to take it from him for a LONG time! Midnight Express pick up gold as well, Cornette will be even more unbearable. Gordy vs. Hansen will be a great battle for the US title. Fun show!!

Been out of town for a couple of days. My laptop is officially toast, I'm going to have to buy a new one and rewrite all of this week's shows I had written. Hopefully I can have those posted by Wednesday.

Well...my laptop completely shit the bed tonight with all of this week's shows on it, I ordered a new battery pack (fingers crossed that fixes it) so it will probably be next week before I can catch up.

Great card for New Orleans...Road Warriors vs Dr Death/Landel should be a great match. Very curious to see who has placed the bounty on JYD.
-
Kabuki and Khan are a great fit here. Personally I've always preffered heel Wahoo because it fits hit imposing hard hitting style. Would love to see him in CCW one day. Orndorff vs. Muraco for the AWA title feels right....I'm enjoying Mr Wonderful as champ I'm sure Jesse Barr is excited to get to be "Jesse Barr" instead of an "Anderson" or wearing a hood.
-
Great way for Andre to exit the territory. Fun stuff with the Rockers I love the gimmick for Dory vs. Martel.
-
This is going to be the best SNME yet! Time to fire up the big bulky VCR.
-
Big wins for Valiant and Dream Machine here....The Kiniskis vs. Tyler/Brown is going to be great.
-
I love the Great American Bash and this tour is setting a high bar. Magnum vs. Funk is one of the most intense feuds in the game right now and the Andersons vs. Piper/Orton is a dream match IMO

Good to see Dundee and Idol back together in Memphis. It will be interesting to see who steps up to challenge Vlad.

UWF/CCW Television (Post-Beach Brawl Episode) Recorded on August 7, 1985 at the Sportatorium in Tampa, FL. In front of a live studio audience Airing on Florida Superstation WTOG, Texas Superstation WTVT, and various television outlets throughout Alabama and Mississippi on Aug 10, 1985 Hosted by Gordon Solie & Joe Pedicino Interviewer: Coach John Heath Ring Announcer: Rhubarb Jones (Show opens with highlights of Beach Brawl- Andre slamming Studd then Ron Fuller, Bullet pinning Kevin Sullivan, The Rock & Roll Express defeating Street & Dundee for the CCW Tag Team titles with help from the Nightmares, the surprise debut of Harley Race!, then a still shot of Bruno Sammartino raising David Sammartino's hand in victory over a fallen Dusty Rhodes, and a still frame of Jerry Lawler wearing the UWF Unified World Championship belt as we go to the opening montage then to the desk with Gordon Solie and Joe Pedicino) Gordon welcomes everyone to another episode of Continental Championship Wrestling brought to you by the UWF, he says that Beach Brawl turned out to be one of the biggest wrestling events of the year, not only due to the HUGE turnout by the fans but by the amazing events that took place in Orlando. Joe Pedicino says that he still hasn't gotten over the actions of one..Bruno Sammartino and that we will hear from Bruno during the program and find why did what he did to Dusty Rhodes in that cage. Gordon says there's too much to cover here at the top of the program but throughout the show they'll discuss Beach Brawl and all the fall out that's involved. We'll also see the television debut of the new UWF Southern Champion 'Handsome' Harley Race defending against Kendall Windham in our main event. We'll hear from the new Continental Tag Team Champions the Rock & Roll Express, plus a 'revenge match' as The Nightmares take on 'Superstar' Bill Dundee and "Exotic" Adrian Street, the Exotic Superstars. All this more but right now they throw it to the ring for our opening bout. In the opening match Rocky Johnson defeats the Soviet Saint with a powerslam Post Match: Coach John Heath asks Rocky Johnson if he's up challenging the seemingly unstoppable Bam Bam Bigelow for the CCW Title this Monday night in Birmingham? Johnson says he's always up for any challenge and that Bigelow might be big and bad, but at the end of the day he's still just a man…and any man can be beat on any given day and that includes Bam Bam Bigelow. After the promo, Gordon and Joe talk over some footage of Bigelow vs. Kevin Von Erich at Beach Brawl and discuss the shocking debut of the Fabulous Freebirds (Buddy Roberts and Michael Hayes) who helped Bam Bam retain over Von Erich. However, the new Southern Tag Champions the Fabulous Ones (Stan Lane/Steve Keirn) came in post match to even the odds. They pitch to a pre-taped promo with the Freebirds. VTR- (The Freebirds are standing in front of a Confederate Flag) Hayes says he doesn't understand all the shock and controversy about their appearance at Beach Brawl because everybody knows that the 'Birds are going to be where the action is, and the action is in Continental Wrestling these days. He said that Stan Lane and Steve Keirn couldn't leave well enough alone stealing their Fabulous moniker, but now they've stuck their nose in Freebird business and now they will have to take that dreaded walk down Badstreet and that the 'Fabs' aren't man enough to make that trip….Roberts says they will take those Southern Tag Team titles home whenever they good and ready! COMMERCIAL BREAK/Local House Show promos VTR- Lars Anderson is on a beach in Hawaii….it's cloudy…he says it's the "calm before the storm", he says he's bring the greatest tag team in the world today, Jumbo Tsuruta and Genochiro Tenryu, The Hiroshima Wrecking Crew to the UWF and Continental Championship Wrestling. He says their path of destruction will lead them to the Road Warriors and the UWF World Tag Team Championships. He says that no one in CCW can provide them competition and that Hawk and Animal have never stepped into the ring with the likes of a team the stature of The Hiroshima Wrecking Crew….Lars looks to the clouds and says, "The storm is coming….you've been warned." Gordon says those are bold and powerful words from Lars Anderson however Tenryu and Tsuruta are "double tough" and can back up those bold claims. This brings out Adrian Street w/Ms. Linda and Bill Dundee. Street says it remains to be seen if Anderson's boys can back up those words but someone who didn't back up their words was his so-called partner Bill Dundee….Street tells Dundee that he embarrassed him in Orlando in front of CCW's largest audience ever and that Dundee 'dropped the ball' and now Adrian can barely show his face here on television….Dundee fires back that Street was in the match too and that he was just as responsible for the loss as he was…Street gets nose to nose with Dundee and points out that it wasn't HIS shoulders that got pinned it was Dundee's….Street tells him tonight they've got the Nightmares, and he "better not" embarrass him again! Street says, "Let's go Linda" and leaves Dundee standing there mumbling in disgust as he leaves in the opposite direction. The second match of the day features The Bullet defeating 'Golden Boy' Chic Donovan with a sleeperhold Post Match: Bullet comes over to the desk and says that this Monday night in Birmingham he'll be facing The Grappler in a #1 Contender's match for the Southern Heavyweight Championship and it's time to get some gold around his waist once again. VTR- Bruno Sammartino is joined by Gordon Solie in a locker room at the Orange Bowl hours after the conclusion of Beach Brawl. Gordon says he wanted to get Bruno away from David, Blassie, and the "rest of that bunch" to get the truth out of him about what happened. Bruno says he did it for two reasons….Reason #1 It's his son, he asks Gordon what would he do if his son needed help? Gordon shrugs, Bruno continues that beyond that…the 2nd reason he did it is because for years he's been disgusted at the audacity of Dusty Rhodes calling himself, 'the American Dream'. He says, "Can you imagine that, Gordon?" Bruno says that HE has lived the 'American Dream', his family came to America from the 'old country' and he managed to do what thousands of immigrants could only dream of….he has lived the 'American Dream', he's a record setting legendary World Champion and a hero to Italians and all American people with the things he's accomplished and continues to accomplish in his life….meanwhile a "big, fat slob" who doesn't have an athletic bone in his body is an inspiration to couch potatoes and bums everywhere that make them think they can succeed in the greatest sport in the world without talent, ability, or a healthy body….he's a fraud, he's an embarrassment, and he's everything that's wrong with the sport of professional wrestling. I will gladly come back here in October and team with my son David against whatever dreg would lower themselves to team with a person like Dusty Rhodes. I know I'm not what I once was, and I'm well past my prime…..but on my worst day, I could beat a pathetic slob like Dusty Rhodes. Joe Pedicino says those are strong, strong words from Bruno Sammartino and he says next week Dusty Rhodes will be here IN THE STUDIO to respond to those comments from Bruno. COMMERCIAL BREAK/Local House Show promos Coach John Heath is joined by the new Continental Tag Team Champions The Rock & Roll Express (Ricky Morton/Robert Gibson) Morton says that Beach Brawl was an incredible event and that Dundee/Street were a tough team but they were up for the challenge and they are proud to be the new CCW Tag Team Champions. Heath says this Monday night in Birmingham that Lars Anderson's Japanese team of Tsuruta and Tenryu will take on the Nightmares to determine who will face the Rock & Roll Express for the tag team titles right here on television next week. Gibson said whoever wins it doesn't matter cause 'Rock & Roll is here to stay'. Morton says they are going to hang out and scout the Nightmares in case they get the win in Birmingham. The third match is a grudge match: The Nightmares (Danny Davis/Ken Wayne) Vs. The Exotic Superstars (Adrian Street/Bill Dundee) w/Ms. Linda A hard fought match with some friction between Dundee/Street here and there….at one point the Nightmares take over on Dundee and have him in trouble….two different times Dundee tries to crawl over and tag Adrian Street who turns his back and walks down the apron leaving Dundee at the mercy of Davis/Wayne……finally Wayne goes for a legdrop off the top rope and Dundee moves out of the way, Dundee makes his way to corner and Street turns to walk away but Dundee blasts him with a big right hand with stuns Street, Dundee then "tags" him with a slap to the chest then flips Street into the ring and then leaves the ringside area completely….Street staggers to his feet where he's met by Davis who has since tagged in and gives Street a tombstone piledriver….he then tags Wayne who nails the top rope legdrop and covers Street for the 1-2-3!! The Nightmares get revenge on the Exotic Superstars who are seemingly no more. Gordon and Joe talk over highlights of Adrian Adonis' debut match against Brad Armstrong where Adonis was victorious, we then see the following night in Birmingham where Adonis helped Harley Race retain the Southern Title against Mr. Olympia, then later in the night Race/Adonis/Sammartino/Teddy Muscles beatdown Jerry 'the King' Lawler after his successful title defense against David Sammartino. This brings out the new UWF Unified World Champion Jerry Lawler. Lawler says that Blassie and his crew may have gotten the best of him last Monday night but tomorrow night he'll have Mr. Olympia as a tag team partner and they will get a measure of revenge against those guys in Birmingham. Mr. Olympia comes to join Lawler and says he's glad to have such a great partner to take on these guys and get revenge for both of them. Dr. Johnny V. comes out with his masked tag team The Interns. Lawler asks "when exactly did you become a Doctor?" Dr. V says that's none of his business but if they want to step in the ring right now they will show why they are the best tag team in the world today! Lawler looks Olympia who says, "Let's do it!" In the impromptu fourth match UWF World Champion Jerry 'the King' Lawler/Mr. Olympia defeated The Interns w/Dr. Johnny V when Lawler pinned Intern #2 after a fist drop from the 2nd rope COMMERCIAL BREAK/Local House Show promos TELVISION MAIN EVENT UWF Southern Heavyweight Championship "Handsome" Harley Race w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie & Teddy Muscles defeated Kendall Windham with a cradle suplex to retain the title. As Race celebrated in the ring with his belt, Lawler and Olympia hit the ring, Olympia attacked Teddy Muscles as Lawler hit Race with a flurry of right hands as the show went off the air Solie: "We've got a wild melee going on here as Lawler and Olympia decided not to wait for Birmingham for revenge, tune in next week as the Rock & Roll Express will be in action and much, much more…SO LONG FROM THE SUNSHINE STATE!!" © 1985 UWF/Continental Championship Wrestling -
Great stuff, everything here works for Central States yet feels fresh. I agree that Handsome Jimmy will be a stand out here.
