  1. UWF Continental Championship Wrestling News and Notes - Beach Brawl is being considered a huge success, a huge crowd was on hand and so far the feedback has been extremely positive. - The Bruno Sammartino turn is a huge deal and word is that it wasn't offiical it was happening right up until bell time. A newsletter commented last week there might be a turn coming and Bill Watts wanted to change the finish and not do the heel turn with Bruno, however Fritz Von Erich and Ron Fuller insisted it had to happen to help draw the return to the Orange Bowl in October, based on crowd response and the interest already being shown for the October rematch, the feeling is that Von Erich and Fuller were right. - While Fritz is being praised for fighting to go through with the Bruno Sammartino heel turn, he's being taken to task for another recent decision that looks like is going to take place. It's well documented that Fritz was extremely upset with his son Kerry for choosing to go to the WWF instead of coming along to CCW. Fritz feels there needs to be three Von Erichs for six man tag team matches and such. Fritz decided they needed to recruit a "family member' and was pushing Ron Fuller to make Wendell Cooley a "Von Erich cousin". Fuller and Watts both fought it since Cooley is pretty well established in the territory. After didn't pan out, Fritz looked to guys who hadn't had much if any TV exposure and came across young Terry Brunk, who has competed a handful of times on house shows as 'Sabu' teaming with the Tonga Kid. Fritz has decided to introduce Terry Brunk to the CCW fans as 'Terry Von Erich'. Watt, Fuller, and everyone who has heard about it have tried to tell him this is a HORRIBLE idea but he's determined to do it and Terry Von Erich is set to debut on the next Sportatorium show in Dallas, Texas. - Fans were excited to see the debut of The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes/Buddy Roberts) who will at least for the time being have Bam Bam Bigelow stepping into the Terry Gordy role. The Fabulous Ones who made their CCW debut on TV this week taking the Southern Tag Team titles from Eddie Gilbert and Tommy Rich have also caused quite a stir with the fans as well. - While there is an influx of new faces coming including the legendary "Handsome" Harley Race and Adrian Adonis, there's been some shocking departures as well including Austin Idol, Shane Douglas, Mr. Wrestling 2, and "Superstar" Bill Dundee. Most fans were shocked when a "Loser leaves Town" match was signed between the Bullet and Kevin Sullivan....most fans assume that Sullivan will be back under a mask similar to Armstrong...but that is NOT the case. The feeling in the office is that the "Devil" gimmick with Sullivan and Humperdink's guys just didn't take this time around as it has in the past in Florida. Perhaps it just didn't click against the Armstrongs but the bookers decided to pull the plug and go another direction. Fallen Angel has already left for the AWA with Sullivan and Humperdink is being taken off TV for a few weeks (and perhaps for good) if not he will return with different wrestlers and they are currently trying to come up with something different for Killer Brooks, Mark Lewin (who will likely end up under a mask), and 'Dirty White Boy' Tony Anthony. - The next big event for CCW will be the 'David Von Erich Parade of Champions' at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas on Sunday September 22nd. It's said they will try to get most of the UWF Champions on the card in hopes of the next big event in Texas taking place at the Cotton Bowl. In October, CCW will return to the Orange Bowl in Orlando for the 'UWF SuperBowl of Wrestling' featuring the Steel Cage Match: Bruno/David Sammartino vs. Dusty Rhodes/???? - It is rumored his partner could be Blackjack Mulligan or perhaps someone outside the territory. - The VHS release of 'Beach Brawl' is looking to be sometime in December in time for Christmas.

"The Living Legacy" David Sammartino As the match started David tried to climb out of the cage but Bruno pulled him back down and shouted at him "fight like a man!", Dusty controlled most of the match with some offense from David scattered here and there….both men were bloodied after being raked against the cage..Bruno mostly stayed out of the way and let them fight…but when it looked like Dusty was about to get the win, David reached in his trunks and pulled out the 'knux' that's been scoring him victories lately….Dusty grabbed his arm and pried the knux out of David's hand and then handed them to Bruno……Dusty then locked a sleeper on David in the center of the ring……Bruno lifted David's arm once and it dropped, he lifted it a 2nd time…and it dropped…..as he Bruno lifted David's arm a third time with his left arm….from out of nowhere he came around with a right with the knux on his fist and knocked Dusty out cold….David falls back on top of Dusty as he goes down….Bruno slowly counts…1---2--3!!! The Orlando crowd is IN SHOCK!! At first there's just stunned silence and then it turned into a near riot as fans threw things at the cage and some started trying to rush the cage and security and local police fought to escort the Sammartinos out of the cage and back to the locker room An impromptu intermission had to be taken while they tried to settle the fans down for the main event MAIN EVENT STEEL CAGE MATCH UWF UNIFIED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Jerry 'the King' Lawler pinned "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie & Teddy Muscles after a piledriver to win the UWF Unified World Championship. Afterwards, Teddy Muscles, Blassie, and Harley Race were fighting with the outside referee to get into the cage…Lawler sees this and climbs over to escape the attack….they manage to get in the cage just as Lawler is getting to the floor and leaving with his new title belt. Idol struggles to get back to his feet as Blassie starts berating him about losing…Idol tries to shrug him off but Blassie slaps him across the face, Idol grabs him around throat and starts choking him as the crowd erupts but Idol is quickly cut off by Teddy Muscles and Harley Race…..they put the boots to him and then give him a spike piledriver……they continue to put the boots to him until Dusty Rhodes and Jerry Lawler come back out and clear them out of the ring. The crowd erupts!! The show ends on a high note with the Dream and the new World Champ in the cage as EMTs check on the fallen Austin Idol.

  5. Am I overlooking him on someone's roster or has Percy Pringle fallen off lists? If he has CCW would like to pick him up for our open spot. I will post my updated roster after I post Beach Brawl later tonight.
  6. Awesome job! Proud to have you with us in the UWF!. I've been watching some old Central States on youtube and you've addressed and are fixing the major flaws with real life Central States in this time frame. I agree the Mid America League sounds fun and will be a great way to crown a champion!
  7. Thanks for the kind words....it's very much appreciated guys....just trying to keep up with all the other great booking that's going on across the board here in the project!

  9. Those two matches alone would have sold me on being at the matches Thursday night!
  10. Dusty/Duggan vs. The Rat Pack is firing on all cylinders! I've always been a fan of Butch Reed, very underrated in my opinion...could have been a great US or TV champion in the late 80's early 90's
  11. For some reason even in a fantasy scenario, Manny Fernandez in the WWF feels surreal. BJH and Windham make for a fun tag team in the same vein as Windham and Garvin did IRL
  12. Great string of shows lately....I feel like Orton is really about to take off here. I like the way the clown gimmick is being introduced.
  13. Testing the waters here.....I might be looking to trade Brad Armstrong for the right deal.

  19. Great Memphis action...bounties, family feuds, everything you could want from your Memphis Rasslin! Honky is a good fit here. Lawler has his hands full with these guys. Who could be behind the JYD bounty??
  20. Awesome 6 man tag to close the show. The AWA is the place for great tag action right now...Bulldogs, Bad Company, Varsity Club, and the list goes on and on.
  21. I love the ref catching the Machines switching out here! It puts more heat on it the next time they do it and get away with it.
  22. Windham vs. Savage is what the IC title is all about! Great stuff! I'm really excited about Hogan vs. Nikita...this is the perfect time for this and will make Kolloff a huge star in the game for years to come.
  23. Great stuff here...really enjoying the Dusty/Hacksaw vs. Rat Pack feud! In '85 Reed vs. Snuka is a great angle as well.
  24. With the open roster spots from sending Valiant and Graham to Central States, CCW picks up the Kelly Twins.
  25. CCW sends "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant and "Dream Machine" Troy Graham to Central States as a "Welcome to the UWF" gift!
