Huge series of shows in Nashville...fans got the opportunity to see a TON of stars so far. Well, guess the Sammartinos better hope Dusty doesn't choose Vlad the Russian as his tag partner for the Dallas main event....

I hope the fair is paying out big time for this show causing they are getting some of the biggest stars in the business! So many great match ups here but the one that really stands out to me is Dr Death vs. Wahoo! Shocking actions from Wrestling 2 and Douglas!
-
Got to see LeDuc on a Memphis show towards the end of his career and he was still a huge impressive guy...always liked watching him as a kid even if he was beating up my hero Lawler.
-
Music City Mayhem is going to be awesome! Loved the Ellering promo especially!

UWF Continental Championship Wrestling Update Following today's earlier report out of the Bill Watts camp, sources close to Fritz Von Erich say that the differences are only getting worse. Rumor is Fritz told Ron Fuller that he can buy him out of Continental and keep the name and the territory if he so chooses. Word is that Fritz has already been in contact with Paul Boesch and Dory Funk Jr about bringing back World Class and running all over the state of Texas including Houston and Amarillo as well as parts of Oklahoma. It's not clear how close this is to happening or if this is all just being blown out of proportion. It's also been said that Fritz is the one who agreed to work together with NWA Lutte Wrestling this month which Fuller was not happy about...nor was Fuller happy about Fritz reaching out to Vince McMahon to book Andre the Giant for Beach Brawl ironically around the same time his son Kerry debuted for the Fed. Apparently the bad blood for Fritz started when Watts/Fuller/Jarrett bulldozed Fritz on Lawler winning the UWF World Championship at Beach Brawl with Fritz making the argument that putting the UWF World title on Lawler was crazy since he's not on any of the full time UWF promotional rosters and what would stop another promoter outside of the UWF from booking Lawler and having him drop the UWF World title to a wrestler whose is not bookable by the UWF. Allegedly Watts' response was "Lawler wouldn't do that to us." A few weeks later Fritz bought a bigger chunk of Continental thinking it would give him more leverage but he was still outnumbered on UWF decisions by Watts/Jarrett/Fuller. Time will tell how all this will play out but it should be interesting regardless.

Great show and what a huge series of mega events Music City Showdown is going to be. It works for a fantasy scenario but having grown up around that area I'm not sure Memphis would have been ready for the Nation of Domination in 1985...much different world than it was when they did it in the late 90's.

UWF Continental Championship Wrestling News It's been revealed this week that Fritz Von Erich has become majority owner of Continental Championship Wrestling. His first act as majority owner is pulling completely out of Florida effective September 1st. Fritz has argued that they are spreading themselves too thin trying to cover from Texas down through Florida. Apparently, the scheduled Orange Bowl show in Orlando in October will be moved to Texas Stadium in Dallas which will include the big Bruno/David Sammartino vs. Dusty Rhodes/Partner tag team match. It's assumed that now Dusty's partner will likely be Kevin Von Erich. Bill Watts has stated that the UWF may find another way to utilize Florida in the next few months if no one else moves in. Another point of contention is the fact Fritz wants to change the name of the promotion to World Class Championship Wrestling. So far Ron Fuller has convinced him to keep it as Continental but only time will tell. It's unclear where they will tape television now that they won't be going to Tampa, Fuller is pushing to bring it back to the studio in Dothan, Alabama while Fritz wants to tape television at the Sportatorium in Dallas while doing the Sunday shows at Reunion Arena and Mondays in Birmingham, Alabama. Joe Pedicino will be taking a producer role with the show hosted by Gordon Solie and Bill Mercer and Marc Lowrance handling all the announcing duties. They have a year long deal on their television Superstation in Florida so they will still be seen there for a few more months at least.

Hopefully, I can get back to writing normal tv soon, but for now I'll do these recap type shows in order to not get behind…Thanks! UWF/CCW Television Recorded on August 21, 1985 at the Sportatorium in Tampa, FL. In front of a live studio audience Airing on Florida Superstation WTOG, Texas Superstation WTVT, and various television outlets throughout Alabama and Mississippi on Aug 24, 1985 Hosted by Gordon Solie & Joe Pedicino Interviewer: Coach John Heath Ring Announcer: Rhubarb Jones Recap/Highlights: Dusty Promo: Dusty says he waited to respond to really let Bruno's words sink in……He said he still respects Bruno's legacy in wrestling but now finds him disgusting as a person….he says if David is truly Bruno's "Living Legacy" then his legacy isn't much anyway. He says he may not be the athlete that Bruno was in his prime but he promises that Bruno Sammartino will learn to respect him and this fans on October 27th at the Orange Bowl in Orlando. The Nightmares talk about their loss from last Monday night due to the interference of Ms. Linda, they introduce their "insurance policy" to take care of Ms. Linda, they bring out BABY DOLL! Baby Doll promises the Nightmares that Ms. Linda won't be a problem for them anymore. Fritz Von Erich talks about the upcoming 'David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions' in Dallas, Texas on Sunday September 23rd. He says there will matches announced here on television in the coming weeks. He says it's being negotiated to air as a special on WTVT and WTOG. Gordon Solie called Freddie Blassie out to the desk and let him know that the UWF Board of Directors have informed him if David Sammartino does not show up next week on TV to defend his Television title he will be stripped of the title. Blassie says that's outrageous that David has been off celebrating his victory over Dusty Rhodes, he will gladly return and beat whomever they put in front of him just as he did Rhodes at Beach Brawl. Footage is shown of Bam Bam Bigelow injuring both the Bullet and Brad Armstrong. Also the fireball incident last week where Eddie Gilbert burned Robert Fuller just as he did Jimmy Golden. The Fabs come out and talk about their win over the Freebirds but also the heinous post match attack, so this week they asked for a rematch but the Freebirds insisted it be a "Badstreet Brawl", The Fabs say they gladly accept and are looking for revenge. Missy Hyatt is seen sitting in the crowd watching the matches, she Is approached by Joe Pedicino who asks her if she's scouting talent in Continental and she replies, "I'm looking for a star and I'll know them when I see them." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today's matches: The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong/Tracy Smothers) defeated Bobby Jessup/"Jumpin" Jed Johnson when Armstrong pinned Jessup after a missile dropkick The Grappler pinned Ricky Flame with a swinging neckbreaker Kendall Windham pinned Ted Allen after a flying lariat (Missy was seen taking notes during this match) UWF Continental Tag Team Champions The Hiroshima Wrecking Crew (Tenryu/Tsuruta) w/Lars Anderson defeated Scott Armstrong/Mike Graham when Tsuruta pinned Scott after a Enziguiri Kick to the head MAIN EVENT UWF Unified World Champion Jerry 'the King' Lawler pinned "The Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony Gordon/Joe review Monday night's card in BIrmingham CCW Summer Heatwave Tour 1985 Boutwell Auditorium Birmingham, AL. Flair vs. Orton is an awesome main event!

If we are giving LeDuc to Lutte is Pringle going to Gene then? I wanted it to be a clear black and white thing... other than rookies... I think rookies like the Vader situation... they should go to draft but full-time active people should go to the finder? I don't care either way....I'm not lobbying for Pringle, I already picked up Lars Anderson for that spot.....I just can't see the case to be made for "everyone to get a chance" when no one has noticed they were missing for two years now. But I'm good with whatever the consensus is.

HUGE Saturday Night's Main Event but the Steel Cage Rematch with Andre as the enforcer should bring even bigger ratings!
-
Looking forward to seeing Jesse Barr compete in the AWA. Orndorff vs. Rose is a great title match.

The JYD angle continues to build interest. Butch Reed was criminally underated IRL in my opinion, with the addition of Ladd, he should be a champion one day soon.
