  1. Fans are smarter, but there's no recovering from some of the stuff that's happened on WWE TV in recent years. There's no bouncing back immediately after having a rose inserted rectally or having a nickname that points out your biggest weakness or dressing like a racial stereotype for years or being repeatedly jobbed out. I think most of the guys we are talking about jumping to AEW need to go somewhere small and wash the stench of WWE off by completely reinvent themselves before popping back up on TV in order to really be taken seriously.
  2. I don't think the damage WWE has done to many of their guys can simply be undone by jumping to the other company. Anybody who has been on WWE TV for an extended period of time needs to go away and completely reinvent themselves before popping back up on main stream TV, like what Matt Cardona is doing. Paul Roma jumping to WCW and joining the Horseman didn't revitalize Paul Roma's career, it dragged down the the rest of the group. I see that being the case for most of the current WWE roster.
  3. @El-P Adam Cole absolutely passes the airport test, the guy looks like movie star and oozes cool. The fact that they never looked at him and saw Brad Pitt or Steve McQueen is astounding. @everybody else I can't believe some of the names people here are tossing out there. Yeah Keith Lee is a beast, but he's beast who's been made to look like a clown for two years now. Yeah Tozawa and Gable are great hands, but they've been the butt end of bad jokes for several years. I can't think of anybody currently left in WWE that AEW should go after. WWE's nonsensical booking has hurt the marketability of pretty much everybody left on their roster other than Brock Lesnar and Orton.
  4. I only watched the last hour or so, but it was the first time in a long time I enjoyed Raw.
  5. Who you got?
  6. 2 years ago my biggest complaints about AEW was that the roster was incredibly weak and the booking was inconsistent. 2 years makes a lot of difference.
  7. I think you're giving them too much credit. It wouldn't surprise me if the people in charge of CMLL don't know who Bryan Danielson is as he wasn't a big star in the 90s.
  8. @Sean Reedy For that to happen wouldn't CMLL need to give a shit?
  9. So Zayne and Owens? After the better part of a decade on WWE TV doing all sorts of stupid shit those two guys need to go away for awhile. Its nothing against them as talent, theyve done everything they could with the roles and oportunities given to them. I just don't see any value after they've been on an unwatchable program for the better part of a decade.
  10. @WingedEagle Better question is who is left that's worth poaching? Everybody left in WWE has had their marketability ruined by terrible booking or is incredibly stale from over exposure.
  11. Wow. That was really great. Best show of the last 5 years easily.
  12. Ah.... Didn't they attempt to buy NOAH or AJPW a few years ago?
  13. Just read they closed down their Japan office and in doing so fired over 100 people. Anybody have any idea what the purpose of their Japan office was as I didn't even know it existed.
  14. Following Matt Cardona's run on the indies so far has been a blast. I don't understand how so much of his career was spent as a glorified job guy with a terrible gimmick. If they used him at all, he could have made WWE some money and been good an upper mid card/IC title type role.
  15. He broke in working the southern California indies and only has a few years experience. I wouldn't expect him to have any grasp of psychology given who broke him in, where he's worked, who he has worked with, and his experience level.
  16. @sek69 do we know how lucha pay offs work and what dollar amounts we are talking here? They got to seriously fucking the younger guys around to be losing this many people.
  17. If somebody in charge actually cared It would be so easy to fix what's wrong with CMLL. If they stopped booking 5 trios matches every show and mixed in some singles and tags, the wrestlers would make more because there would be few workers to pay. And if they allowed everybody to take high paying outside bookings, people wouldn't be leaving. Instead the only top guy allowed to take outside bookings is Ultimo Guererro it seems.
  18. And now Mistico is leaving CMLL. They are putting Caristico back under the Mistico mask.... CMLL is a dumpster fire.
  19. Gut reaction after watching the show, Ilja/Walter was one of, if not the greatest match I've ever seen. It was everything I love about wrestling. The rest of the show was passable.
  20. Don't know if this is been asked... is anybody going to be using a BIGLAV type ratings system for the 2026 BWE? Should we come up with something similar
  21. Earlier I said it all has to do with context and execution. After watching that clip I don't know how they could have failed more on either end. It looked bad and didn't make a whole lot of sense. Edit- I just watched LA Park vs Rush from Neza last month. Multiple glass bottles were broken. A big part of the match was breaking bottles over each others heads and stabbing each other with the broken bottles. It was far more gruesome than this clip. But it made sense. The glass bottles were weapons of opportunity as they brawled around the ring. It wasn't a poorly executed, over contrived spot but a realistic portrayal of a bar fight gone off the rails. And the violence didn't come out of no where as those guys have been feuding for 6 years now so the escalation to that level of violence was warranted.
  22. This is so bad.
  23. Anybody see the proposed card for the anniversary show? 5 title matches where the challengers are determined by fan vote. Wrestlers eligible for the fan vote include big names such as El Coyote, Hombre Bala Jr., Enfermero Jr, El Audaz, Panterita del Ring, Los Gemelo Diablos, Fugaz & Esfinge, Stigma & Pegasso, Magia Blanca & Halcon Suriano Jr. I think we at PWO should organize a coordinated effort to assure a El Coyote vs Hombre Bala Jr main event.

  25. These past couple of years I've wondered what the sale price for CMLL would be. What would they need for all of the rights, the trade marks and the property owned?
