WWE TV 12/10 - 12/16 Our ENVIRONMENT MINISTER is a global warming denier lol
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
No, Balor is ill. He's still scheduled to work TLC on Sunday. About MMC, my best guess is they're probably thinking of having Bayley in the finals and they didn't want Balor to pull double duty so they replace him by Apollo Crews. -
Personally, I got a soft spot for KUSHIDA vs Will Ospreay from Wrestling Dontaku 2018 Night 2 on 5/4/18. I just loved the backstory about how Ospreay was hellbent on proving that his one win against KUSHIDA earlier wasn't a fluke. KUSHIDA working relentlessly on Ospreay's shoulder throughout most of the match with Ospreay trying to use the Stormbreaker despite that said sore shoulder. And of course, the drama post-match with the unveiling of Taiji Ishimori as the Bone Soldier and newest Bullet Club member...lots of great stuff there.

BREAKING NEWS: UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP VACATED; TO BE AWARDED TO THE WINNER OF BATTLEBOWL, TOMORROW NIGHT After an eventful evening in Dandridge, TN in which The Missing Link also captured the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship from Paul Orndorff, courtesy of Robert Fuller's involvement, Jim Crockett has announced that following his victory against Ted Dibiase, he immediately forfeited the US Championship and it will be awarded to the winner of the Battlebowl tournament. 8 matches with random pairings will take place during the night and the winners of each match will advance to the main event battle royal, where the sole survivor will be crowned the new US Heavyweight Champion. No word yet on who will be taking part in the tournament yet. As for Ted Dibiase, he was absolutely livid following the events that lead to him losing the US Championship to Big John Studd and is already talking about filing a lawsuit against Jim Crockett Promotions unless he gets what he wants. We should know more about this in the next few days. Stay tuned to Worldwide & World Championship Wrestling on TBS to find out more as things develop!

So, finally got a chance to watch the match cad offered me; Americo Rocca vs Kid Guzman, either from CMLL or EMLL, I'm not sure, other than it's at Arena Coliseo. First, really got a kick out of the entrance area, a total throwback to cheesey 1991 WCW. My Spanish is a tad (very) rusty but I figured out this was a Lucha de Apuesta. Rocca doesn't even waste any time and attacks Guzman before the bell. Typical lucha sequence once both men get in the ring and Guzman with a nice corkscrew plancha on Rocca outside. Guzman scores the win with a heel hook rather quickly to take the first fall. I noticed that they took way more time than the usual 2 out of 3 falls match I've seen from Mexico but I thought it was a very nice touch, with Rocco's second working on his calf and heel after the first fall. The 2nd fall definitely was the most painful of the 3 to watch for me. I didn't particularly find Rocca's style very enticing, maybe not as much as it feels out of place and sticks out like a sore thumb, working more of an American old school heel over Guzman. However, he seems to legit punch him on the nose in the corner (I had to watch the replay after the 2nd fall because I missed it in the original sequence) and Rocca scores the 2nd fall with some sort of hammerlock lifting chokehold on something. Doctors and Guzman's second working on his bloody nose before the 3rd fall and Rocca uses that in his favor as the 3rd fall begins. Again, not particularly impressed by Rocca but once Guzman begins his comeback, the pace picks up and it makes for a more interesting match. Guzman takes two nasty falls in that one - first, on that tope on the outside as he really landed like a dart on Rocca on the floor - and then the 2nd, when he dodges that back body drop and completely miscalculates his landing on the ring apron and slips on the floor. Kudos to Rocca though for working this into the finish with a Tequila Sunrise to score the victory. And to add insult to injury, Guzman ends up bald. For what it was worth, I thought it was an OK match. Not bad by any means but not anything that blew me away. Guzman showed some fun flashes during the match but with Rocca getting most of the offense as the rudo and Rocca not really working the traditional lucha libre style that I'm used to see, I thought this took a bit away from the match.

I guess we'll truly never know if that was the case, Migs. Putting the temperament of Dynamite Kid aside, he definitely inspired a generation of junior heavyweights and proved to them that you could be successful in this business. The only solace we can find in this is that he's now at peace. RIP.

That will do. I'll watch it later today and I'll have my review written probably during the weekend. :)

WWE TV 12/03 - 12/09 Bolsonaro made me abandon my sports team
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I'll certainly be keeping an eye tonight on how filled the building will be in Austin for Smackdown Live. But it can't be as bad looking as it was for Houston last night. It's kind of surreal that Vince actually isn't in panic mode over poor attendance for RAW. -
Definitely a few event to talk about this SNME. Mostly catching my eye is the seeds of dissension being planted between Barry Windham and Ric Flair after the finish of the tag match vs Andre & Senior. I personally will admit that I'm a tad bummed that you're already hinting to the end of Windham's time as a Horseman but looking at your roster, I think I got the PERFECT replacement in mind . And kudos to the audacity of your booking with the postmatch of Hogan vs Kamala, with Funk and company attacking Hogan. By the RL standards of WWF at the time, I'm not sure we would've even seen the hint of the use of branded iron set on fire. But this just emphasizes the sheer madness of Terry Funk and his motley crew of maniacs!
